The Beachside Hut and Andvara Falls Episode 5 Part 1

Things tune in at the AndvaResort near one of the employee entrances. Kotarou and some of his underlings appear there silently out of nowhere, and the underlings report that the goods have been transported from the other world in the water. Kotarou thanks them and says that after the delivery is done they can take a half break since it was so far away.

After the ninjas leave, Kotarou sighs to himself and talks about reviewing ways to up efficiency since it’s getting so late. After a quick look at the storage, Kotarou talks about taking a break himself too after this task is done because of his daytime work. He’s interrupted on that thought when a ninja comes back to tell him the lower ranking ninjas are fighting over who gets a break first.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called The Scuba Nursery Song Hidden in the Water’s Surface.

Things then tune back in the next morning as you cheerfully greet the start of your next shift. Andvari returns the greeting and comments on your good mood, then says your job for the day is serving the dining area. As there aren’t any special events happening that day it should be relatively calm.

Andvari mentions having some minor business to attend to after the day’s work is done. You express some surprise and say you thought he’d be working the whole time. Andvari is taken aback and says it’s important to separate work from personal life, as well as taking time to rest so you can hop to it if work suddenly piles in on you. That said he expects you guys to work hard. You acknowledge this or remind yourself this is for the guild.

Goemon speaks up to remind you about the stamp card, so you talk about needing one more stamp as Goemon mentions the limestone tour for completing it. His thief senses are tingling and he’s sure something good must be down there.

Time skips later to the job as Goemon tells Nomad there’s new orders coming in, six yakisobas and four curry rice. Nomad responds by saying the order of seafood kebabs and takoyaki are up, which Goemon brings out. Nomad than asks for somebody to get on making three shaved ices as he can’t leave the yakisoba he’s making. You either say you’ll do it or offer to help with the noodles.

Going A if it matters, Nomad acknowledges that and says he can handle the yakisoba on his own. Goemon is impressed by Nomad’s care for making the noodles and refers to it as a professional spirit he should follow the example of. Nomad gets pissy again as he insists he’s a detective and not a pro yakisoba cook.

Anyways you decide to ask Goemon about him taking human form for the day. He laughs about you noticing it and says that since you guys will be diving today he decided to transform into something better suited for swimming. Kotarou walks in greeting everyone and starts talking to Nomad.

Kotarou asks Nomad about whether the on board catering has been finished. Nomad says it’s on the shelf so he can take it over whenever. Kotarou thanks him and delegates that part to the ninja mobs, who pop in on cue and march out with the things. You can either be surprised by Kotarou’s sudden appearance, ask what he needs with the kitchen, and/or comment that it’s unusual for him to come over there.

Kotarou says he had a bit of an unusual order and came from the other side of the area. Some customers asked him to have a cruising party at the same time their dive activity would be happening. Because of that, he came here with his mobs to pick things up. Between all the jobs he had to do he says he’s had no time to take a break. You either say you see, treat him like a kid and compliment him, or offer to hug him.

Going A, Kotarou says he’s okay and doesn’t need you to console him since it is work. It’s his stance to make his bosses happy, whether it’s dirty work or a job from rich pretentious blowhards. Serve the powerful for your own ends!

Kotarou then asks you why you seem to be looking at him, so you either comment that his clothes seem ninja themed or say you think it’s cute. Going A, he says it’s his personal swimsuit and asks what you think. He also says there’s tricks hidden in it, so that’s fun.

Anyways Kotarou remembers you’re planning to join the diving activity with your friends and tells you he’ll be waiting. He excuses himself and Jiraiya takes interest in the fact that you’re going. You either invite him along or ask if he has any interest in diving.

He’s happy for the invite but decides to turn you down, explaining that he feels uncomfortable around the other ninjas. You ask if he doesn’t like them or ask if it’s different from with Goemon. He confirms there is a difference between them and Goemon, and that they’re his natural enemy. He also thinks they’re up to something.

Jiraiya is then quick to claim he isn’t afraid and is just busy with service work for the day. Nomad then yells at him and Goemon to move their asses and stop talking, so they rush to do so.

Time skips a bit more to a point where the customers have quieted down and Nomad says you guys can go on break soon. You say okay and focus on getting through it when Shirou and Touji show up with Hanuman, Agyou, Kijimuna, Ziz, and Behemoth. Shirou says he brought everyone like he said, and Kijimuna greets you and says the place seems like fun with all the children around. You welcome everyone in.

Hanuman says everything smells good and decides to eat everything from one end to the other. Behemoth agrees and considers ordering one of everything on the menu. Ziz laughs and says she won’t get on his case since he can actually eat all that. She does say that having that many plates on the table would cause trouble for everyone else though, and Shirou is bemused she’d focus on that part.

Touji apologizes for making things busier when you already have a lot to get to. He’s apparently tried calling or texting you before but you were always in the middle of shifts, so he asks if it really is that busy. You either say that you’re busy as you hoped or that you have to work even during your breaks at times. If you go with B Andvari runs back in to protest that he’s doing things just as you asked and that lying will be punished. He has to give you breaks and brings up he just talked about it earlier.

Ziz says the workplace is comfortable and thinks working somewhere where you can feel the sea breeze would be lovely. You can then compliment either Ziz, Behemoth, or Agyou on their swimsuits.

In A, Ziz thanks you and says she’s happy since she really likes it. She also talks about how you can find anything in Tokyo since there were so many choices to pick from in terms of size and design. In B Behemoth thanks you and says he liked it as soon as he saw it, so he bought it right away. Ziz did ask about it being so tight given how his body works, but he seems to like how it is. In C Agyou brags about it a little and says Shirou bought it for him. Shirou says he got his payment early and figured he may as well since everyone will be going.

In any event, Behemoth asks how much of a break do you get. If you eat together with them then you probably can’t afford to sit back until the dive activity. The subject then reminds Shirou to ask you who Goemon is since he’s coming too. You call Goemon over, and Shirou greets him as he introduces himself. Goemon responds by introducing himself as a thief from Wa no Kuni before correcting that to high class actor. He also says he’s been working with you from the start of this job.

Touji side eyes Goemon for the thief bit but reminds himself that first impressions aren’t the end all be all for people. He introduces himself and says he’ll be watching to see what kind of person Goemon is. Goemon calls him bold and gutsy, then exchanges greetings. Goemon then asks you if it’s really okay to include him too since your friends all came to hang out with you.

Kijimuna invites him along since it’ll be fun with everyone together, and Hanuman follows suit. Hanuman also says he heard about him from you and wants to see his ninjutsu, so Goemon agrees to join in.

Time skips a bit to your break as the scene shifts over to the beach diving area. Hanuman says the food was great and that he ate too much of it. Kijimuna gave himself brain freeze, and Agyou is shocked that Behemoth ate to the point that he ballooned up. Behemoth says he overate by accident since everything was so good. You either wonder if this will be okay and comment on how big he got.

Time skips a bit later again as Tadatomo comes by and points out that maybe some people are too much despite going for a swim activity soon. Hanuman is happy to see him, and you can either greet him or say his swimsuit is cool.

Going B, Tadatomo tries to take your remark as a joke and downplays his outfit as just a swimsuit. As he thinks aloud about how being complimented means he made a good choice, you draw attention to his tail. He then tries to hide his tail wagging in embarrassment, unable to come up with some excuse to hide it behind.

In either case Tadatomo says it’s time to welcome you guys to the diving area. He and a bunch of ninja mobs start dancing and singing, which says you don’t have to worry if you can’t swim, suggests water ninja techs *can* make you swim, and says you can talk with fish.

Shirou is taken aback and politely calls it unexpected, then decides to dump the need to say anything more about it onto Hanuman and Kijimuna. Hanuman is totally impressed and excited, and Kijimuna didn’t quite catch everything they said but thinks it sounds fun. Goemon mutters to himself figuring out how to use water ninja skills to do whatever.

Behemoth has caught nothing from that song and asks someone to explain. You either try to understand what you saw, ask Tadatomo to explain, or stand there in shock trying to process it still. Going B, Tadatomo asks you to pretend that what you just saw didn’t happen. He then mentally curses Kotarou for embarrassing him like this, especially in front of you. Touji says he pities Tadatomo for reasons he doesn’t understand.

Anyways Tadatomo explains that ninja diving is mostly normal diving but with ninja tools. That allows you to dive deeper, makes it so that anyone can swim, and allows for conversation underwater. Hanuman gets more excited at that and says he wants to go talk with the fishes as soon as possible, so Tadatomo has to tell him that no the fish can’t talk and crush his dreams.

Agyou says it’s still cool to be able to swim freely in the ocean, and Ziz thinks being able to speak underwater is going to be an amazing experience. You agree and say you’re getting excited, and Kotarou shows up to say it will naturally be mind blowing since it’s the resort’s main attraction.

Touji immediately accuses Kotarou of being up to something, but Kotarou responds by inviting him to have fun in the water. Tadatomo is mad Kotarou is late, both in general and for the silly dance act. Kotarou says he was held up by other customers.

Kotarou then changes the subject and suggests everyone start trying out the ocean scouting ninja tool, which he calls Oyogeru-kun. It’s the thing that will let people swim even if they can’t. For safety’s sake a little bit of practice is needed, even for the ninja arts. Tadatomo then asks you guys to put it on. You thank him and ask him to put it on for you or ask him to teach you how to do so.

On that note, Kotarou asks if everyone has theirs on and suggests getting into the water to play tag for a bit in the shallows. For the game he suggests splitting into two groups and having everyone switch sides when everyone is tagged. He also says to not take it too seriously or to go out to the open sea just yet. The mobs will be around to stop that otherwise.

You join up with Goemon and Kotarou. Kotarou then says it’s time to forget about your troubles on the land and play, then starts the episode battle.
