Onsen Jamboree Epilogue Part 3

We pick up with Kagutsuchi calling for Ikutoshi after finding him. Ikutoshi is surprised, then sighs about Kagutsuchi being so loud. Kagutsuchi laughs and apologizes in response. He then asks Ikutoshi if something happened since Ikutoshi had told him at some point he'd be on the mountain training with a friend.

Ikutoshi is surprised again but doesn't say anything, and Kagutsuchi figures out that means that Ikutoshi came to pick him up, which makes him happy. Ikutoshi claims he just finished up early and is only around to make sure Kagutsuchi isn't causing problems. A moment later he tells Kagutsuchi to stop clinging to him in exasperation, and Kagutsuchi turns to you to say he'll be going back to the dojo with him. You thank him for all his work and tell him to keep at it with his fire control, or you can pat him on the head.

In C there's an extra line where Kagutsuchi is a bit embarrassed you're doing this again, but he's still happy about it. Anyways, he thanks everyone for being at the camp and says he'd like to do it again sometime. He'll keep training at controlling his fire, and he swears to keep focused and not forget what he's been taught by everyone.

Arslan runs in and sees that Kagutsuchi is still here, glad he found him before he left. Maria is also here, and Shirou asks the two if something happened. Maria says they wanted to say goodbye since everyone is going home, and also there's something they wanted to talk about. Kagutsuchi is surprised they'd come to talk to him, and Arslan prompts Zabaniya to come out and say something to him.

Zabaniya walks up and struggles to find something to say. He admits to feeling embarrassed at not having anything profound or smart to say to Kagustuchi, but he talks about also thinking on the suffering of having flames that can hurt others. So if Kagutsuchi ever feels worried, then Zabaniya offers to counsel him over at Aoyama. If anything he's learned in his life can help him, he'd be happy to do so.

Kagutsuchi takes a quick moment to process this, then says he'll definitely come see him. He also starts referring to Zabaniya as master. Zabaniya is taken aback by this, and Arslan jokes about joining in as another student under him. Zabaniya weakly protests and says the way Arslan laughs at him like that is embarrassing.

Kagutsuchi excuses himself at this point, bowing deeply to everyone before hurrying off to rejoin Ikutoshi who has already started walking off. He starts telling Ikutoshi about how he made curry just like the one at the dojo. Ikutoshi is surprised he didn't burn it and says that could be called progress. Kagutsuchi agrees and says he wants to make that curry for him next time.

Back to your side of things, Arslan talks about how it's about time for them to go too. He also mentions that working as the general manager has made his shoulders stiff. Maria reminds him that there's still more work to do, by which she means carrying the things back to base at Aoyama and get to washing them up. She stops midsentence upon noticing Jacob wander in. Jacob says he's back and notes that things ended okay. Maria is glad to see him again, saying she believed he'd be fine and was wondering when he'd be able to come back. She then stops with where she was going with that and figures that something came up that called him away.

Jacob thanks Maria, saying her faith in him makes him happy. He does say he felt he was needed somewhere, though he's not sure how that will play out just yet. Koropokkur is somewhere nearby watching behind you all. After a moment he turns to his teammates that are apparently from the same school as him, then leaves the area. But back to the conversation, Maria is about to ask more about this until she catches Arslan attempting to sneak off. Arslan ruefully laughs about being caught, then asks if Aizen and Kimun Kamui are going to go back to Aoyama with them.

Kimun says he'll go with them since he believes his path lies in the same direction the Missionaries are going. He also believes more forms of love unknown to him lie that way. Aizen says he'll be going with them too as he needs to learn about love from everyone. Arslan is glad that more people will be around, then suggests to Zabaniya that they sneak off to play some shogi. Zabaniya declines, saying that he'll go help wash and suggests Arslan go rest. Arslan quickly says he'll help wash too because it's going to be super awkward being the only one not working otherwise.

You comment that this is how the Missionaries are, all disconnected and junk. Kimun agrees, but says that that's fine. It's because they're all disconnected that even if one person's love doesn't make it through, the others' might shine on something. You either comment on Kimun being energetic or on Aizen having gotten familiar with the Missionaries. In A, Kimun smiles as he says he could handle all the laundry on his own. Thinking about his fur and giving love would be his strong points. In B, Aizen says that before he joined the event he could see himself not being next to Ophion. Now that he's come here, he's glad he did. He has more things he wants to tell him now.

In any case, Arslan says it's time for them to go. He tells you guys to be diligent and that he'll see you guys again later. Maria says the last three days have been fun, then asks you guys to be careful on your way back before she says bye. Zabaniya thanks you guys for all your efforts, and he asks that you get some rest if you feel tired when you reach home. Aizen tells you that the ceasefire you guys have is officially expired. The next time you guys meet you'd best be on your best behavior if you don't want to get purged. You either tell him to bring it or try to suggest getting along. In A, Aizen snorts as he calls you love singularity again. He won't give you special treatment, so it'll be the impartial purge for you! In B, Aizen says it'll depend on you, and he'll be writing what happens in his exchange log.

Kimun laughs and says that it feels surprisingly sad to think about how it's time to go different ways. He then calls you his little hero and says he's looking forward to seeing how you've grown. You thank him or say his fur was nice and warm, as if he were hugging you. In A, Kimun says he's glad if his fur brought you warmth. In BC, he laughs and notes that his scent has gotten on you. He offers to wrap you up in his affection whenever you want it, calling you the one who carries the traces of the little hero he adored. He's glad he met you.

Anyways, Aizen says he'll see you all again as he addresses you, Shirou, and Moritaka with descriptors (love singularity, advisor, and brave dog warrior for the record). Kimun says that if you guys need help, you guys can ask him. He declares himself the Kimun Kamui and others who gives lost children kindness and trials. The Missionaries all leave at this point, their expressions described as smiles carrying a new energy.

Moritaka suggests you guys get going too, bringing up that Ryouta will be waiting. Shirou agrees and says the jamboree isn't over until you get back, so he says you guys should straighten up and head out. Time skips a little bit as narration glosses over you guys meeting up with Chouji and Ryouta and heading back to the dorms together, and you all start talking about your respective experiences. Ryouta talks about how everyone on his team got along and says he'll need to introduce them all next time. Moritaka comments that Ryouta's ability to make friends is as good as ever. You turn to Chouji and ask about him not needing to go back with the Missionaries.

Chouji explains that he's volunteered to give out food tomorrow and onwards, so he's leaving early to get that ready. Ryouta says that being able to split work like this is what makes large groups great. He then asks what happened with you guys. Someone tells him which gets skipped over to Ryouta recapping in shock about you guys walking through snow, spending a night in a cave, and surfing an avalanche in a bath tub. While that's happening Chouji is playing with some of the Evils next to him.

Ryouta is at a loss for much to say, but he comes up with saying you guys are amazing and did great getting out of the situation. You get into crazy stuff so much that he has to admire you for that. Shirou says you guys were lucky since you had Aizen and Kagutsuchi around as fire users. Moritaka agrees and says if you guys took out any one person from the party things wouldn't have played out as it did. He then thinks about how reassuring it is to have someone watching his back.

Ryouta shrugs it off since you're all safe and that's all that matters, mangling an expression in the meantime. Shirou points out that the literal meaning of how he messed up his expression would be a bad thing and tells him how it's supposed to go. He sighs and wonders if Kengo is affecting Ryouta because malapropers are his shtick. On that note, you ask how things were with Ryouta's party and you can call him the Hand of Destruction. Ryouta locks up, then flatly laughs as he vibrates in place. Shirou is surprised by this and figures he did terribly.

Ryouta insists he tried his best, but he still couldn't get anything to cook right. Moritaka is shocked Ryouta still managed to fail at cooking with Chouji around. Chouji says he doesn't understand what happened. Somehow Ryouta managed to burn the curry ingredients just by cutting them, which Shirou has trouble believing. Chouji said he tried desperately to salvage the dinner into something edible, but he doesn't remember what he did. You either say the Hand of Destruction did it again or say it's not just fate anymore.

At this point, Moritaka notes that the Evils are getting sleepy. Shirou says it's been a long time since the Evils have been outside for so long as he picks one up. The Evil babbles at him, which Shirou understands to mean that it doesn't want to go back home yet. He asks Moritaka to pass the Evil over, then starts rubbing it on the back as if to put it to sleep. Chouji notes that little kids can fall asleep like they've run out of batteries and wonders if that applies to the Evils. Shirou says they're pretty naughty, but he's glad he brought them along and thanks Chouji.

On that note, you decide to ask Shirou why he did bring them along. Shirou explains that he's not the type to go out much if he's on his own. And despite the Evils being Transients they're always hanging around him. From that point, he decided he wanted to show them a bunch of other things. They could do things like go to camp, play, make memories...come to think of it, Shirou feels like he's learned a lot himself, so he says he needs to thank the Evils for that. Moritaka says his opinion may be based as someone who was also brought along, but he thinks the Evils enjoyed it all. You agree and say things were fun thanks to them, and that you're glad you spent time with them.

Shirou steps a bit closer to you and whispers so no one else can hear. He says the biggest thing was that you were watching him, which he feels is the reason why he changed. If he were his old self he'd probably never have volunteered to go to the scout camp. Every time he sees himself through your eyes it's always another surprise for him.

Some time later you guys reach Shinjuku Station, and Moritaka says he'll be splitting off there to go to Kabukicho. He explains that there's someone he wants to talk to about what happened at the scout camp. Ryouta offers to take his bag home for him so he can move faster, but he gets cut off when Chouji gets a little flustered asking Ryouta to help him with the Evils getting fussy after waking up. Ryouta turns to help in alarm, then passes the luggage over to you.

Moritaka laughs and comments on how lively things are, then wonders to himself why he stayed away from this mood. Moritaka then turns to you as he says he's shaken his slump off at the camp and figured out how he should be from now on. He swears to go with you wherever you go with his sword in hand. He'd like you to believe in that at least, as there's something he doesn't want to lose. (I think he means you?)

Ryouta finishes pacifying the Evils by this point and suggests doing one last thing while everyone's still here if Moritaka is heading off. Moritaka gets excited as he sees what Ryouta is getting at, saying he was thinking he wanted to do that one last time. Shirou has some reservations about doing it right there but figures doing it one time will be okay. Chouji laughs and says it's okay sometimes, then points out the Evils seem excited to do it too. You then lead the group through it, and everyone makes one last hurrah.

The wind blows, bringing with it a familiar scent. But compared to a few days ago when you all headed to camp, it now brings different emotions within everyone. The lights of the city bring a different shine that lights up everyone's hearts. Ryouta suggests that they all go to the camp again, this time with all the people in class and in the guild. Moritaka says they'll invite everyone who couldn't come this time and feels it'll be great fun. Everyone agrees with the idea and starts talking it over. Their voices ride with the wind, and wind flows towards its next destination. The End.

Onsen Jamboree Epilogue Part 2

The story picks up slightly after where things left off last time, briefly mentioning that the party has climbed out of the portable tub, picked the Purple Evil up out of the water, and done a head count. Once he's confirmed that nothing is out of place, Kimun Kamui stands straight up as he reports to Arslan that everyone in the party has come back safely. Arslan acknowledges that the report has been turned in and thanks Kimun for his work. He then comments that it looks like he's discovered something, asking Kimun if he's faced himself.

 

Kimun says yes and calls the jamboree his trial for growth, and he stands next to Arslan as he smiles. Zabaniya walks up apologizing for interrupting, but he tells Arslan it's time for the closing ceremony. Arslan starts heading over for that and says he'll ask Kimun about what he's learned afterwards. For now he needs to say some words of appreciation for everyone's that attended the event. Kimun says he'll see him later.

 

Maria comes over telling you guys there's a hot spring nearby and suggests you guys use it. You're a little surprised by this as you figure you could go after the closing ceremony, though thinking about it you guys would be heading home after that. Maria insists that you guys go wash up since you're all probably sopping wet from being in the river. It'd be a problem if you caught a cold, and Maria also points out that the Crafters has lent a really big tub. You guys can listen to the ceremony while soaking up in it! Maria then hands out some towels and asks you to go ahead and use them whether you're doing a foot bath or full bath or whatever. You see that Maria is right and ask Shirou if it's okay as the hot spring is waiting for you guys. Shirou agrees, then orders the party as leader to go to the baths.

 

For the last time this event you can choose whether this is a foot bath or a full bath. Anyways, Maria is back at where the closing ceremony is taking place as she speaks into a megaphone to some loud applause. Aizen sighs about how nice the water is, then mentions his reluctance to be listening to the ceremony there. Kagutsuchi says the water still feels good what with having to jump into the water to save the Purple Evil earlier. There's slightly more going on with the full bath option as Shirou says it feels like he's warming up all the way to his core and tells the Evils to soak in more too. Moritaka talks about feeling like he'll melt from how nice it feels as he sinks into the water, which freaks Kagutsuchi into yelling for him to come back.

 

Anyways Kimun comments that hot springs are great and says it's like what people favor is already part of nature's providence. You agree and say hot springs are great and/or sigh about the heat. Kagutsuchi then starts talking about how weird the overworld shift is, as while you guys spent a night in there it has only been a few hours out with the rest of the world. Aizen admits he's glad for that since he was on the verge of committing the horrible crime against public order that is being late. Shirou points out that Aizen could have been both late AND missing as a possibility.

 

Ryouta comes over and joins everyone, figuring he might as well if you guys weren't gonna go to where he was. Shirou is a little surprised he knew you guys were here, then says that a bunch of stuff happened. Ryouta says Maria and Chouji told him, mentioning they were really worried and wonders what you guys were up to. Moritaka apologizes for the worry but says it's hard to explain what happened in brief. Ryouta figures that since you guys got back okay that all's well that ends well. You say to Ryouta you're back and apologize for worrying him. Ryouta says welcome back to you, Shirou, and Moritaka.

 

Elsewhere Maria says it's time for Arslan to say a few words. Kagutsuchi gets excited as he says he wants to listen. Arslan starts telling everyone in attendance that they all did good in finishing the event. He explains that scouting is said to have started out as the art of learning how to keep moving out in the field when investigating the unknown. Why do we move? Because there are things we can't see from where we currently are. Why do we live in groups? Because there are things we can't see on our own. We shed light on things we didn't see, and so our world expands.

 

Arslan then moves on to talk about the trial he had mentioned back when the event started. As it turns out, team assignments were deliberately set up to put you with people you normally wouldn't get along with. People who normally didn't think about leading were encouraged to volunteer to do it. The trial that Arslan had been talking about was in trying the opposite of what you believe to be your strengths. So more or less every team had its problems, but in trying to tackle them people should have learned some things. The goal of the whole event was to try something new, and if people got something out of it all, Arslan says he'll be happy. Arslan then officially declares the Jamboree is over, wishing everyone well.

 

Arslan then throws in one last comment to talk about all the curry rice he tasted. If the chance ever comes up again, he asks that people make some for him again. He then signs off with a ciao, and Kimun thinks to himself as he agrees that there are things that can't be seen when you're on your own at the moment.

 

Some time later the party leaves the bath and changes. Aizen says he has after bath drinks for the last bath of the event and says you can pick whatever you want from regular milk, coffee milk, or strawberry milk. Aizen okays whatever you pick and says that you should savor this last drink. Everyone drinks their milk, and once that's done Aizen declares that all the drinks he's prepared, including his spares, are used up now. He points that out as another sign that the jamboree has ended.

 

Kimun agrees, saying it is a little sad but all things end. Ryouta says he should get back to his team so that he can say goodbye to them all, then suggests going home together later as he excuses himself. After Ryouta trots off from the changing area, Kimun has the party get together and starts speaking in a somber tone.

 

Kimun begins his speech with how the event has ended, so the team will be splitting up. He then begins addressing Aizen and thanks him for all his work in running the bath and how great it felt. Aizen thanks him and says it was worth it do that job if he said so. Kimun talks about how Aizen's orderliness and (over)seriousness helped him in lugging around all the water. Also, he points out that Aizen kept questioning what was in everyone's hearts during all the trials. It was Aizen who got Kimun to reexamine how dangerous his kindness was. Without him, you guys would never have finished the walk, and Kimun thanks him.

 

Aizen says it's thanks to everyone that he learned of different kinds of love. He also gets the feeling he's learned how to see the other kinds of value to love besides how dangerous it is. He struggles with words for a little bit, then thanks everyone.

 

Kimun turns to Kagutsuchi next, but before he gets far he's taken aback and asks if he's already crying. Kagutsuchi sniffles but insists he's not crying. Kimun goes back to his speech and says it's his opnion that Kagutsuchi was the one who grew the most. While people have said harsh things to him, Kagutsuchi managed to surpass things in the end. He managed to handle fire and seriously faced himself while listening to people. Kimun suggests that Kagutsuchi's earnestness and considerations for others will lead him to greater heights. Kimun also adds in a note about his curry rice being nice and asks him to make some for him again sometime. Kagutsuchi starts to say he'll keep focused and thanks everyone for their support before he breaks down into projectile tears and hugs Kimun.

 

Moritaka is next on the list as Kimun notes that he seems to have lost his edge compared to the beginning. Moritaka agrees and says he was rushing due to his inexperience, then says he now feels he lost sight of himself. Kimun says a weapon isn't only for taking down your enemies; sometimes it can help by being a hunting spear. Kimun also says that he's not saying hostility is wrong, but he reminds Moritaka to not forget his gratitude. He says he feels that Moritaka has a talent for spear fishing, then asks if he has any interest in being his student. Moritaka is taken aback by this and politely says he'll think about it. Moritaka then swears to find his way as a warrior, saying the trip has been worth it and thanks everyone in the party.

 

Kimun addresses Shirou next, saying he did great as a leader. Shirou nods and says a lot of things didn't go as expected, but he thinks he did a good job. Kimun then tells him that his first impression of him was the opposite of his thoughts of Moritaka, in that he thought Shirou was too calm. Shirou is naturally surprised at this, and Kimun elaborates that he felt Shirou was looking at himself Too objectively, quick to make decisions and as such too focused on his limits.

 

Kimun then apologizes saying he was too quick to judge. He says it's true Shirou is too quick to give up on himself, but he notes that the image others (or a certain other) have of him is what gives him passion. It's that quality that Kimun learned a lot from. Shirou takes a moment before speaking, then says that being a leader has helped him learned a lot as an individual. He talks about wanting to think about how he is without being stuck in preconceptions. After that he thanks everyone for supporting him over the three days.

 

Kimun has some words for the Evils too, and he decides to appoint the Purple Evil to act as the group representative as he asks it to step forward. He says they all did good to walk the whole trail what with how small they are. He also praises their consideration for Shirou and says he was surprised at how brave they are. He wishes for them to have even more fun times learning and playing with the people important to them.

 

Finally, Kimun turns to you and has to grasp for words a bit. He eventually starts talking about how you resemble an important memory to him, and that he knows you give your love to someone. He's sure you must've had a meeting with someone that made you happy from the start, and that there must have been people who have given you their kindness. That's why you give it back, and he supposes you'll bring about many happy encounters. Kimun says that when the number of people you give things to goes up, you'll become prone to putting yourself off more and more. He tells you to remember that when it comes to making people happy, you should first make yourself happy. He laughs and says he might not have room to say that though. You nod and say you'll keep it in mind and thank him.

 

Kimun tells you there's no need to push yourself, you can just be the way you usually are. He then rolls around to talking about himself, which he prefaces by saying he needs to apologize to everyone. He says it's probably common knowledge by now that the overworld shift you guys went through is his fault. He regrets putting everyone through so much trouble and enough danger that threatened everyone's lives. You ask him not to worry about it because it's relatively business as usual for you.

 

Kimun says that at the same time he's felt the everyone's grown, he also saw a peek of what he should actually do. From now on, he's going to rethink his own happiness for the sake of the beloved children. That's his new way of life he's decided upon here in Tokyo, where people are allowed to grow. That's something he was able to share with everyone after meeting you all, and he And Wen thanks you all from the bottom of his heart.

 

At this point, Kimun says it's regrettable but it's time to go. He asks Shirou to do his thing one last time for the road. Shirou makes a quick speech about how he believes everyone's relationships built up over the course of the scout event will go on even after the team breaks up. He says everyone did well during these three days, then thanks everyone. You say thanks as well and call back to him, and the party follows suit. Your voices ring out, and the episode section ends with you all smiling as you all start making your separate ways.

 

 

 

 

Onsen Jamboree Epilogue Part 1

The story decides to wind the clock back a little, set at some time before spring comes to the Kamuy Kotan overworld shift. Koropokkur is somewhere far away watching the battle with Wen Kamui after having evidently pissed off after everyone stopped paying attention to him. In a surprise twist, when you win the battle and Wen reunites with Kimun Kamui, Koropokkur looks at you celebrating with the party with affectionate eyes rather than with any hate or anger.

 

That said, Koropokkur does sigh over you Doing What You Did as he calls you hopeless. Narration compares how he said it to an older brother's way of speaking to his younger siblings as he watches over them, kind, proud, and cruel. He calls you annoying again, but cute too. He laughs as if to say how adorable you are. When you're born to the world, you're like fresh snow before you live for how ever many years and months. Your simplistic honesty where you're dead set on living, ignorant of the time limit on your life span is so precious. Koropokkur comments that life feels like a fleeting dream until you grow up and That Time comes when the soul freezes over and dies. Narration adds that it's all like an illusion until you get old enough to fear your demise.

 

Koropokkur stabs his leaf into the ground, which then puffs up and hides him. At that instant, the blizzard blasting the world increases in power until it eclipses the storm that was here before, filled with killing intent. A person's end is predetermined no matter how much wealth, fame, or other things they've amassed. Their blood and flesh was beautiful to that extent until even their soul spoils as they get decrepit with age. In that case, Koropokkur feels it would be best to end your life before then when you're at your prettiest.

 

Koropokkur says to you it'll be okay as he promises to stay with you the entire time this time. He asks you not to go anywhere, to stay here with him in the snow. A voice calls out to him asking if he intends not to let anyone leave, which would be a problem. Koropokkur tenses up as he asks who's there and able to see him, ready to kill the man who suddenly shows up. Jacob turns up and greets Koropokkur politely, fully aware of who he is and what guild he's with as he introduces himself and says he's one of the Missionaries.

 

Koropokkur's murderousness remains on point as he decides to continue talking to Jacob, and he asks how long Jacob has been there and how Jacob could tell where he is. If he's actively trying to hide with his butterbur leaf, it's supposed to be impossible for anyone to see him. And for that matter, Koropokkur asks how Jacob can walk around in his super blizzard while wearing such relatively light clothes.

 

Jacob answers that he can't see him since he can't see anything at all. However, he explains that his fists are able to guide him to people he should meet. When Koropokkur looks, he sees a phantom of the sword of flames that burns the heavens in Jacob's hands. It's described as protecting the breath of life like a tree that rises to the skies. He understands that the massive energy it has is what lets Jacob walk around in his blizzard without issue.

 

Koropokkur notes the sword of flames that functions for eternity and the Tree of Life it protects, then says he understands. He mentions that Michael was looking for it and was ranting about how it Finally Appeared. He thinks back to the time his ally told him about that, then grips his leaf hard as he talks again. Koropokkur talks about understanding and notes that Jacob is the same as him. And by that, he means another pitiful dude who Has to Remember all the sad repeating memories of the world.

 

Koropokkur downgrades his desire to kill Jacob to 'merely' cold hostility. He then asks if Jacob understands that him killing you here is out of his kindness. Jacob doesn't respond to that, and Koropokkur talks about how repeating things over and over and over and rotting out because of that is a given. It's the same for that pitiful Kimun who Ended Up Remembering his old memories. One day they'll grow up and get fouled up, then Forget About Them. Koropokkur says that's why growth is pointless, and everyone's lives get wasted because of it. Everyone should just stay as newborn babies. It's sad, but you guys can't do that. In which case, he needs to make things permanent for you guys while you're still pure and ignorantly happy. He then pleads with Jacob asking if he understands if he's The Same as Him.

 

Jacob thinks on Koropokkur's mentioning of the word pointless, and he supposes that might be true for them/the world. If you see someone repeating their lives in the same place in the cage known as the world, it can look as if time as stopped. However, Jacob says that love is something that goes around endlessly drawing things. Even if it looks like it's staying in one place it's drawing more layers on top of things. It might look like folly if you look at it from above or glare at it from below, but Jacob suggests that if enough layers are put together, it can surpass the heavens and reach the heights of outer space.

 

Koropokkur comments that they have different opinions, then asks why Jacob came to him. Jacob answers that he came to pick up some Jamboree members who got lost. Koropokkur quietly regards him for a moment, then agrees to keep what happened in this overworld a secret. He'll also not tell Micheal about his run in with Jacob as he figures Michael will stop trusting him if he finds out about this. Koropokkur makes a point of saying that he won't tolerate it if the hero Betrays Everyone again. If that happens, Koropokkur swears to freeze everything in the world as his eyes flash with a cold love and hate. Jacob says there's no need to hurry as they'll all meet again when their love's location and its state of being intersect.

 

Title card pops up, and the chapter is just called Epilogue.

 

Things then tune back out on the mountain for the scout jamboree, and the time is noted to be late afternoon with the sun slowly started to set. A bunch of participants who have safely finished their stay are milling around and socializing at the starting area, and the staff and other participants clap for the teams that make it to the finish line. Finally a certain team rolls in, feeling a mix of fatigue and accomplishment.

 

Ryouta stumbles in wheezing as he says 'just a little more,' and as soon as he passes that finish line he immediately flops over yelling about making it, lying covered in sweat on the grass. He talks about how nice the wind feels, then mentions how sweaty and hungry he feels. Ryouta says he feels even more tired than when he ran a gym class marathon, but he nods and says it feels great. He reaches for the sky, then exchanges looks with his teammates who have also flopped over on the grass with him.

 

Chouji congratulates Ryouta for doing well and hands him a special sports drink. Ryouta thanks him and congratulates the rest of the team too, then takes a drink as he mentions feeling thirsty. After taking a big swig, he asks what the sports drink is as he describes it as bubbly and a little sour. Chouji says he put salt and lemons into a sports drink, then diluted it with carbonic acid. He figured he'd try to make it easy to drink by making it refreshing and moderating the sweetness.

 

Ryouta says the drink made him feel like he tried his best just for this moment. Chouji says he needs to go put in his report, then invites Ryouta to come with him if he wants. Ryouta hard passes and says he can't take another step. He talks about his legs being all wobbly so he figures he's in for aches tonight. He also figures he won't be able to go to class for a week and asks Chouji to pass it on. Chouji: Ryouta's not coming to the cafeteria for a week. Got it. :) 

Ryouta: NO I'M ALIVE I mean I'LL GO

 

On a different note, Ryouta remembers that he needs to ask for everyone's phone numbers. He admits to maybe kinda sorta being a problem when it came to mealtimes, but hey they all became friends and he has tons of pictures to send them all. Chouji excuses himself at this point to go to the main office, telling the team he'll be back soon and that they can do whatever in the meantime. Ryouta acknowledges this and waves him off.

 

Time jumps to after Ryouta has gotten the phone numbers of the randos he was teamed up with, then starts looking over all the pictures he took during the event, sliding through them and looking at the fun times he had. He reminisces about how much he enjoyed it all, then talks to himself about needing to show the pictures to you guys. And on that note, Ryouta wonders whether you guys got back yet as he remembers you guys set out a little bit after his team did. He laughs to himself thinking you guys have an interesting team and gets excited about asking about what things you guys got up to.

 

Scene then shifts over to the Missionaries as Chouji walks up to them and notices that you guys aren't back yet. He says he thought that you guys were holding a steady pace the whole time the way Shirou would do it until now. Zabaniya says Kimun and your team has definitely started to descend the mountain, but you guys haven't turned up yet. Maria says that no team that came after you said anything about passing you guys. Arslan notes that your team is filled with unique types and was bringing along the little Evils too.

 

Zabaniya says the problem is that it'll be dark soon. Even if they sent out a search party, visibility will become a concern. Chouji is confused and brings up that Azazel was supposed to be monitoring Kimun. Zabaniya awkwardly looks away, and Arslan attempts to get Azazel to say something since he's just been laughing meaningfully to himself for a while. Azazel just continues laughing like a secretive weirdo, and Arslan says he's been doing that all day. The other Missionaries look at each other worried, and Azazel flips through his book before suddenly stopping.

 

Azazel says it looks like Jacob managed to do something and is glad for that. He can see Koropokkur from there as he calls him the Representative of Kamuy Kotan, the one who allied himself with Eden's Representative. If Eden's Representative made a serious move, Azazel says he might need to undo his bindings. Narration describes Azazel as the fallen angel from Eden who chose to approach people and moves according to his own love. He whispers to himself as he touches the golden chains on him.

 

Azazel says that it would be bad if he did lift his bindings. People need to reach that love on their own, not through his power. His job is only to watch. He says that when people reach that love, it will only be when the World's Last Secret is revealed. Before he says anymore, he reacts in surprise to something. Maria asks him what he saw and asks if some sort of danger befell you guys. Azazel assures her that you guys are fine, and if anything is going to fall it is going to fall on them. He then asks the Missionaries to get some umbrellas together. Zabaniya is confused by this and notes that the weather is clear. Azazel only smiles back as he takes an umbrella with him as he leaves the main office tent.

 

Scene shifts to behind the HQ base tent where a mountain stream is flowing into a river that goes into town. The Missionaries are perplexed as to what's going on, and Maria tries to ask Azazel about what he saw. Azazel doesn't respond and just stares up into the sky. He eventually declares that you guys are coming and opens up his umbrella. The others follow his lead.

 

The next moment, your team's tub pops into existence and lands hard into the water. The impact blasts water with enough force that it comes back down like rain. Maria starts to point out the portable tub, and Kagutsuchi starts saying his thanks that there was a river underneath you. He wasn't expecting you guys to pop out of midair. The landing shook Shirou up a little bit, and he snaps to asking if everyone is still there and wasn't tossed out of the tub. Kimun does a quick head count and notices that the Purple Evil is missing. Moritaka points out in alarm a butt he sees floating in the river getting carried away by the current. Aizen orders everyone out to go get the Evil because he's not going to have someone fall to the wayside at the very end.

 

You either comment that you guys made it back safely, ask if you guys are back, or call out to the Evil that you're coming to get it. The Missionaries are surprised to see you, then relieved as they start laughing at how your party sounds like a mix of alarm and enjoyment. You either say you're back, take notice that everyone is laughing, or focus on the Evil. The section ends with the Evil floundering in the water.

 

Onsen Jamboree Episode 6 Part 4

The story starts narrating about how Kimun Kamui is thinking about Kamuy Kotan. In a world of harsh cold where living is difficult, it was his job to give warm clothes to the weak in front of him. The days come and go, and Kimun would continually cut at himself and give out his kindness. He believed that that was the only form of love and the most splendid thing in the world. But for reasons he didn't understand, muddled complicated emotions stirred up his heart and gnawed at him. The best he could make sense of it was a constant feeling of overlooking someone. And then, one day he left Kamuy Kotan and came to Tokyo.

 

Since then Kimun came to meet many new people and see many new forms of love. He learned that there wasn't just one way to express love. Everyone carries their own kind of love and direct it at others. Everyone takes a light and walk down their long, long paths.

 

Kimun has then gone to a far off location where he then thinks about his home world once again. He thinks that yes, there truly is wonderful love there, but he also realizes that it wasn't everything, and that he didn't notice that fact while he was still there.

 

At the end of his road, Kimun met himself, a self that went by Wen Kamui. He was covered in wounds, and for the first time ever he was looking at himself. Kimun takes over narration directly and says that he was surely in pain since he had always been shaving parts of himself away to give things to others. Why did he never give anything to himself? Once he thought that, he felt some sort of warmth bloom within himself. But on second thought, he realizes it was always there. He just never looked at it before. A different kind of energy from the compassion he had for the weak was what drove him on. If one form of love isn't enough to help endure the cold, then by shining different kinds of love on one another, maybe you can go anywhere you want. That's how he started to think that way.

 

Now back to what was happening, Kimun has stabbed himself with his sword and is using its power on himself. One by one, memories start peeling off of him. You either point out that Kimun used his sword on himself, ask what's going on, or quietly watch him. Kimun says he's okay because that's how his sword is supposed to be used originally. It's a sword meant for him to cut himself and give of himself to others who are hurt. He muses that someone seeing him do this must think he's stupid. Here he is, trying to help his hurt self by hurting himself. But this is all he knows how to do, so he asks his past self to please accept it.

 

Kimun gives Wen a warm smile, apologizing for making him wait as he refers to him as his frozen, wounded, and weak self. He then activates his NP, saying he'll give him unlimited compassion. Four new copies of Kimun appear, which you either react with shock to or ask Kimun what's going on. Kimun tells you that those are his past selves, much like how everyone else had to face off their Shadow past selves. Koropokkur had made him remember some old memories, so he's brought them out as a trial.

 

Wen demands to know what Kimun is doing, and narration says his face looks as if he was the one who was cut. Kimun says he thought it was strange how Wen never tried to attack him with his sword, but now he understands. They are one and the same. You either ask Kimun to explain what he means by that or wait for him to elaborate on his own. Kimun talks about how he had always lived by cutting himself to give things to people. He made that his one joy in life and looked away from all other possibilities. He never once looked at his own pain.

 

Wen makes a little noise but doesn't say anything. Kimun says the time has come for him to face himself, then asks his past selves to speak. Wen desperately begs for things to stop, for them to not reveal what his anger is about. Copy 1 voices his regret about becoming a monster that hurt the ones he loves around and his regret over his assigned class. Copy 2 talks about how he wanted to save the grown children and to help them. He didn't know how to do that though, which left him depressed. Copy 3 talks about how loving someone is to treat them as special, which also means giving up on everyone else. He was frightened, terrified of that love. Copy 4 talks about how all of the above feelings left him at a loss, and with no one to turn to to vent it all, he suffered. Confusion turned to frustration, so he decided to vent it all on his past self. He thought it'd be better if he erased himself.

 

You comment on understanding that he didn't hate anyone, he was just lost. Kimun says he ended up hating himself over his unease at emotions he felt but couldn't identify, and he sadly notes that's like him. He wanted to share that discomfort with someone, so he made himself remember it. However, he hesitated to hurt himself, which was only natural. He always looked away from himself. Kimun figures that's why Wen tried to make him feel the suffering of hurting someone else by making him stain his claws with Wen's blood.

 

Wen yells for him to stop, demanding that he not steal away his hatred and his enemy. The four copies react by siding with Wen against the party, and Kimun apologizes for adding to the enemy count. Shirou tells him there are no enemies here; just his self to overcome. He turns to the rest of the party looking for agreement, and everyone including the Evils who aren't shown on screen nod. You agree vocally and call this the last trial of the Jamboree, then tell Kimun you'll all pass it together. Kimun agrees and thanks everyone, and narration says the love alight in his chest is a new warmth that isn't the love for the weak. Kimun calls the party to join him in clearing the last trial of the Hot Spring Jamboree, and everyone calls back as the episode battle starts. More story after that.

 

After the battle, narration picks up with you noticing that the blizzard in Kamuy Kotan is intensifying again. All that stands in your way is the ciramantep mobs and the five Wens. Aizen says love is energy and something to be feared, yet that isn't everything to love. Narration says Aizen is using his power to burn everyone's love and heat them all from within in the midst of the all freezing snowstorm. Kimun is surprised as he says he feels something new burning inside him, then asks in realization if this is what self-love is.

 

Wen also feels what Kimun is feeling as he yells about feeling something hot inside his chest and asks what it is. Kimun tells him he should already know, calling him Wen before changing that to his other self. He tells Wen that what he felt inside isn't hatred, but love that had lost where it was supposed to go to. All that's happened is that his fears, regrets, and sadness melded together and buried it.

 

Kimun comments to himself that this is what self-directed love is, and Wen freaks out telling him to shut up and tries to insist he's full of hate, not love. Wen then rips the fur off the four copies flanking him, and each one he puts on makes him grow bigger and bigger. Within the frozen passage of time, the directionless emotions pile up. The weight of these feelings from countless transmigrations become thick, muddled energy, and Wen stands before you as a giant monster. Kimun is shocked by this, and you ask everyone to step back and support you as you get ready.

 

Kimun attempts to stop you as he says attacking from the front would be too dangerous, but Shirou assures him it'll be okay because you're strong in times like these. You take a stance, then start running at Wen as you call out the invocation spiel to use your NP on him. When you slash, you cut not at flesh and blood, but just at the frozen time. Time starts moving within Wen, and the love he once held within pulses. In that moment, Wen sees someone's form over you, a single dragon who ran the snow fields of Kamuy Kotan. He sadly notes that he remembers something, and he says you're that...something.

 

There was once someone raised by wolves in the frozen lands, carrying the divine protection of dragons, wearing the fur of a bear, and running across the snow. That would be the hero of Kamuy Kotan that Wen saw when he was still Kimun. However, there is no belief in a legend about a Hero in Bear Fur in Kamuy Kotan. The reason for that happened one day when the hero set out on a journey and talked to Kimun. The hero said, "you must be cold having given me your fur, so I'm giving it back to you." He smiled as he put it back on Kimun.

 

Kimun tunes in to his soulsphere or whatever as he asks where he is and where the party is. Wen shows up and tells him he doesn't need to worry about you guys, and that they're inside his heart or something. Wen says he remembers everything now. He hated Kimun for forgetting things, but he realizes that he's forgotten things now too, things he remembered before he became Wen. Kimun says he's in the same boat what with having forgotten his past selves, but he resolves to carry on all the memories cast off from his reincarnations.

 

Wen hangs his fur on Kimun's shoulders, and Kimun comments on how warm it is, a warmth he had forgotten. That warmth gives him the energy to move, and it'll probably become the energy to help him go forward. He starts thinking about learning of more kinds of love and sharing them with even more people. As he thinks that, he thinks of the past disappearing into him, and he starts looking to the future. Back outside, Wen and Kimun take each other's hands, then fuse back into one being.

 

Kagutsuchi asks if things are over now and if this means you can all leave. Shirou answers that he thinks it'll be okay, then points up to the sky. Kagutsuchi is surprised to see cracks forming in the sky, but Aizen corrects him and says while it's hard to tell, the sky is actually another wall of ice covering the world. He figures that means the boundaries of the overworld are lifting, then comments you guys should be able to return now.

 

Kimun agrees as he says Wen is telling him as much inside him. Shirou notes that this would mean Wen was the core to the overworld shift. Kagutsuchi points up to the sky and says the clouds are parting away. Aizen declares it's hydration time, which is something you shouldn't forget no matter what time it is. Moritaka laughs at how much of a stickler Aizen is over their health, but he thanks him for said concern. Shirou suggests making a toast to completing the trial even if it is just water. The Evils are excited at the idea, and you lead the toast.

 

After you all make the toast, you guys notice some sort of rumbling sound coming from the mountain top, and you have a sinking suspicion as to what that is. Kimun realizes it's an avalanche, and Aizen is frustrated it's happening so close to the overworld shift closing as he wonders if you guys fought too loudly. The Evils freak out, and Kagutsuchi tells some to grab onto him. Moritaka offers to let some get on him too, but then he quickly tells whichever one grabbed his tail to climb a little higher. Kimun says from the rumbling that the avalanche is much closer than he thought and tries to think of something. Shirou calls you and Moritaka to come help him, then tells Aizen to Bring the Luggage fast. You react with surprise and ask if he has a plan, then say you'll help.

 

The giant avalanche covers everything soon after, and sitting on the crest of it is a familiar bathtub. Kimun sighs in relief at you guys barely managing to avoid getting crushed under the snow and voices his surprise that the tub is what saves you all in the end. Everyone is sitting in the hot water in the tub celebrating their safety, and Kagutsuchi mentions his surprise at the tub's anti-spilling function. Aizen describes it as an auto-balancing feature to keep water from spilling out while the tub is on when people get in or out. He comments that the tub is a bundle of surprises from beginning to end, and he considers sending the Crafters a thank you letter.

 

Kagutsuchi asks how everyone is and talks about how warm the water is. Moritaka sighs at how pleasant the water and notes the Evils seem happy with it too. Kagutsuchi says that's because he's using his fire power to heat the water and focusing on keeping it at a moderate temperature. Shirou sighs and says that it feels like his cold blisters are melting off. You comment on how nice it feels too.

 

Aizen yells in shock that you're too close and asks if you're really going to try getting hot and steamy inside the tub. He says it's because you're all in this overworld shift that he's using his power to turn everyone's worldly desires into energy and using that to heat the water too, then yelps about the water getting too hot. Kimun also yells that the water is getting really hot and says love is terrifying.

 

Eventually the avalanche stops, leaving you guys to float down a river in the tub. Kagutsuchi points out to everyone that the shift is starting to lift before he notices something else. As the area starts to revert back to the mountain, a miraculous view emerges. Flower petals dance in the wind, and plants start budding. The snow melts, revealing the view of Kamuy Kotan from Wen's mental landscape. Kimun expresses his amazement that spring has come even to Kamuy Kotan. To be continued in the epilogue!

 

Onsen Jamboree Episode 6 Part 3

Narration picks up with talking about Kamuy Kotan, describing it as a place completely frozen and a place that Does Not Move Forward. As such, even after the kamui from the heavens offer their flesh and blood to the people, their souls return to the heavens still frozen in time. They then reincarnate and gain a new body, over and over and over not moving forward. The same applies to the wen kamui, the kamui at the end of their transformations. The only thing able to resist against this is the Sword That Cuts Stillness belonging to the young heroes. Only they are able to the release the Shadows of the world from the cycle of reincarnation. The heroes raised by kamui eventually throw themselves into battle to save everyone. In the battles they'd have to sacrifice themselves in, the heroes will then bring about a temporary peace...

 

Despite that, this isn't the end for things. The world continues on instead of stopping with "happily ever after." Koropokkur knows all of that as the one who sees all of this world and its history. People become accustomed to being given things, even if such things include heroes giving their own lives to save them. This eventually turns to pride and greed, and the people's thanks towards heroes die out. At that point, the heroes made unnecessary are chased out from the world. The wen kamui will then flood the world again, hunt the corrupted adults, and the cycle repeats ad infinitum.

 

Koropokkur had some thoughts as he watched this all go on and on. "Growing up is the same as letting your love rot." In comparison to that, the tragic love and self-sacrifice of the young heroes is beautiful and pure. That is the most beautiful thing in the world, he firmly believes.

 

Back to the present, we tune back in at the part where Koropokkur is staring hard at you. He smiles with a mix of frozen emotions and something else. You either ask who he is or point accusingly at him. Koropokkur finally says something to you all event as he greets you and says it's been a while as he refers to you as his little hero. You ask if he means you as you don't think you're that small, and you wonder if he's mistaking you for someone else.

 

Koropokkur insists he'd never mistake who you are, then explains he's not talking about your body. He says people like you who are innocent and without their old memories and just before they grow up makes him want to fuss over you. Kimun Kamui is surprised to see Koropokkur there and recognizes him as he asks to make sure who he is. You ask Kimun if he knows him, if Koropokkur is also from Kamuy Kotan, or ask if that's his name.

 

Kimun says yes and mentions being surprised that he's able to see him. He describes Koropokkur as a kind of fairy that becomes invisible under the shadow of the leaf he holds when one becomes older. He's an eternal child who can only be seen by those shorter than that butterbur leaf. Kagutsuchi repeats that last descriptor in surprise. You turn to Koropokkur and ask him why he's here. Like was he also pulled in too or what? Koropokkur regards you with heavy suspicion before eventually switching to something more clearly like a smile. He answers that he just wanted to see you looking like a hero, and Moritaka reacts to the word hero.

 

Koropokkur elaborates that he wanted to see you blast the evil Wen Kamui away, and Wen laughs at him saying so with him right there. He says he'll let it go though since him being there is the only reason he can fight his past self. Koropokkur Remembering Him is also why Wen can revive from within Kimun. You take note of this in shock and ask if Koropokkur is why Wen has been showing up. Wen cackles as he calls up ciramantep to what he refers to as the final battle, and all remaining mobs appear at his crazed call as the episode battle starts. More story afterwards.

 

After the battle, the story tunes in midway and describes the fight as a chaotic sprawling melee. Kagutsuchi beats back some mobs and says he won't let them get closer. Moritaka swings with his sword, then apologizes as he says he hit the mobs with the back of his sword. After a moment he comments to himself about how much more familiar he is to fighting with his own sword.

 

The Evils yell, and Aizen tells your opponents to look at his purge and at the light of love. Aizen fires a ton of light bullets that land around Wen, and the energy fired off vaporizes the snow. The steam from the evaporation weakens the senses. Kimun loses his footing for a sec, and you jump in to assist him. Wen laughs and prompts you to run him through with your sword as he calls you hero. He was originally planning on having him and Kimun take each other out at the same time, but he says he's okay with this ending too. That way he won't be forgotten again. Kimun reacts in shock to this, and Wen says that as long as he's carved himself into Kimun he'll be fine with that. His jumbled emotions release as he yells out and cackles.

 

Koropokkur says Wen is telling you to go on, so he prompts you to get on with it. It's not like you need to hesitate against someone who'll hurt people right? You just need to protect the weak. That's what love is, right? That's what a hero's battle is like, right?? Now show him what a real strong hero is like already! Moritaka cuts in to talk to Koropokkur asking him to wait.

 

Koropokkur waits for Moritaka to go on, and Moritaka asks to confirm that he said to cut Wen down like a hero should. Koropokkur stands by that and says a hero is someone who's stronger than anyone else and fights to protect others even if they get hurt themselves. Moritaka says there are points in there that he does agree with, but he asks exactly who is the hero fighting for here.

 

Koropokkur thinks this is a dumb question but answers that the answer should be obvious. It's the weakest and most hurt of all. That's the sort of person a hero fights for. Moritaka decides to ask a different question then. He asks why Koropokkur doesn't see Wen, Who Is Hurting HImself, as the hurt party here. You say Moritaka's name and/or quietly look at him.

 

Moritaka starts talking about how someone he respects who teaches him used to be a warrior that became a hero of the battlefield. He claimed victory after victory, he won the hand of his beloved bride, but in the end, both of them were driven to misery. One day that mentor told him something: "your vision is narrow." He asked Moritaka what he wanted to save in his desire to become a hero, telling him he hadn't come up with an answer to that.

 

Moritaka then talks about who would be the one most hurt, which you guys have learned in going through the scout jamboree. Moritaka then declares that Wen is none other than Kimun himself. In which case, Wen is not to be defeated. He is someone to be saved. You agree with Moritaka and say the Jamboree is on until you all get home, so you guys are gonna get there safe and sound.

 

Wen is shocked at first, then gets angry as he yells for you to stop sympathizing with him. He asks if you're calling him weak, bringing up his fur that's thick enough to repel swords and his sharp claws. Kimun talks to himself as he has a realization about who gets hurt when giving kindness. Wen starts getting confused by what Kimun is doing, and Kimun starts addressing everyone in the party. He thanks you all for coming to save him and calls you all his friends. He also says he finally understands what he needs to do.

 

You try to ask Kimun what he's doing, and he says his sword was meant to be used for a certain purpose. Wen is shocked and demands that he stop. The episode section ends with Kimun stabbing himself.

 

Onsen Jamboree Episode 6 Part 2

The story picks back up on your end of things as the party decides to head out when the blizzard outside dies down a little. Shirou asks if anyone has forgotten anything and reminds people to be careful since you guys might not be coming back to this cave. At some point Shirou has broken out some emergency supplies and has wrapped himself up in an aluminum sheet as he checks the preparations.

 

Kagutsuchi asks Shirou how they'll handle their search. Shirou initially says things are going as expected before correcting to say it's even more than he thought, by which he means the snow outside. Your tracks from yesterday are already mostly covered by now. Moritaka adds that your scent trails have mostly disappeared too, and he suggests heading back to the cliff area before his ears perk up as he hears something. He says he hears the sounds of swords clashing and realizes it must be Kimun Kamui. You either ask if he really picked something up with his ears instead of his nose, or you can call him a good dog.

 

Shirou tells Moritaka to lead the way, so Moritaka accepts and asks everyone to follow him. Shirou then decides the formation the rest of the party will take. Moritaka is on point, you and Shirou will be behind him, Kagutsuchi and the Evils will be behind you guys, and Aizen will take the rear. Kagutsuchi acknowledges the order and asks Moritaka to lead them. Shirou tells everyone to move out, and everyone calls back in response. You say you're going and ask Kimun to wait for you guys.

 

Narration describes your surroundings as you guys move. All you see is white, with the occasional flash of light reflected off the snow. Anything that could be used to feed the living sleeps beneath the snow, and the world is a sealed one where actions are restricted to the utmost. You guys eventually run into Kimun fighting with Wen Kamui, and Kimun is struggling to keep up while Wen laughs and asks if he's ready for what's next.

 

Kimun says yes as he refers to Wen as his forgotten past self. He calls Wen the one who hunts the growth of weak children while he himself is the one who wishes for the growth of the weak children. Shades of the children he gave his kindness too flicker and fade out around him...erased more like it. Kimun thinks to himself that he cannot forgive his past self, and he says out loud that Wen is his enemy, to be taken down by his own hands.

 

The blizzard around the pair gets progressively heavier, and the amount of phantom children watching the battle increases. Koropokkur is hanging around too, and Kimun is surprised and pained by the cast off memories from the reincarnations that assault him. His eyes narrow, and he swings his sword of hatred with all his strength. Wen laughs at this, and Kimun demands to know what is so funny. Wen actually apologizes and says he's happy he finally got Kimun to make that expression. He laughs some more, asking if Kimun knows pain like he does. If he does, it doesn't matter to him which of them wins.

 

Wen is about to declare his victory when Kagutsuchi shouts out Kimun's name, which surprises the both of them. The party arrives as Kagutsuchi says he's come with everyone to find Kimun. Aizen says they finally found him and tells Kimun a hot bath is waiting for him. Moritaka is glad Kimun is okay and informs him his teachings has helped the party survive on the snowy mountain. Shirou declares as leader that all party members are doing okay. You call out to Kimun and are relieved he's okay.

 

Kimun is surprised and seems unable to come up with anything to say. Kagutsuchi forestalls anything he would come up with by asking to speak first and to ask him what's going on. He recognizes the look in Kimun's eyes, saying it's the same look he himself was sporting when he was feeling desperate before has asked for his advice. You either call Kagutsuchi's name or stare at him quietly

 

Kagutsuchi cries a little as he compares Kimun to how he was before, feeling impatient and hurting himself. He brings up that Kimun was the one who taught him that he had no reason to hurt himself. Kimun lowers his sword out of sadness as he says Kagutsuchi's name, and Aizen comments that this is student teacher love. Kagutsuchi says he's sad to see Kimun like that since he now knows how sad he was before. You tell Kimun that it's thanks to his lessons that you guys are alive as you look firmly at him with a smile.

 

More phantoms appear, and Moritaka asks in surprise if this is a kind of hallucination that affects people with frostbite. The phantom kids laugh and tease you guys over how great it is that you guys Survived, Unlike Them. They ask if you guys are going to go somewhere they can't go, then laugh some more as they say that you should stick around Here and stay a kid with them. Shirou is alarmed as he notes something happening, and the blizzard covers everything.

 

Wen cackles as he says this is Kamuy Kotan, a world of ice frozen by a snowstorm. He yells that no one is going anywhere anymore except six feet under, but Kimun jumps in the way to block his attack saying he won't let him do it. You either call out Kimun's name, tell everyone to focus, or try to figure out something you can do. At that point, your sword starts glowing, which you react with surprise to.

 

Kimun is surprised as he says the light your sword is giving off is the same as the little hero's sword he saw that day. Narration talks about a belief in a sword that is said to carry the souls of many kamui and moves on its own in reaction to danger to its owner. It is the one sword that can move independently in this world that freezes all movement, the Sword That Cuts Stillness. Your light breaks through the frozen time, and past the cracks Shirou sees someone there.

 

Koropokkur is revealed, and the blizzard covering the world is noted to be coming from the leaf he holds. Shirou immediately orders his Evils to shoot him, and Aizen joins in saying he'll cover for him as he shoots out his Purge Beam too. Koropokkur quickly reacts by pulling his leaf from out of the ground and jumps into the air with a flip. Moritaka notes in surprise that the phantoms are disappearing in response, as did the blizzard for all of a second. You ask if Koropokkur was the one to make the blizzard, if he was the one who showed you guys those phantom kids, and ask who the hell he is. The episode section ends with him staring silently.

 

Onsen Jamboree Episode 6 Part 1

Wen Kamui starts narrating about how he hated his other self for forgetting about him. He hated his past self so much for forgetting the thick swirling bundle of emotions within his chest he couldn't stand it. Wen then spells out that he's narrating things if you haven't picked up already, the "evil" kamui who attacked people. Wen says that the thing is, in a frozen hellhole of a world there's a need to cut down on the mouths to feed. Somebody has to do it, so he did. It is what it is, yet some sort of emotion still built up in Wen. He's not sure what it really is, but the pain of it quickly turned to hate.

 

The only thing Wen was sure of was hating Kimun Kamui for knowing nothing and remembering nothing. He looked only on the bright side of things, and Wen couldn't stand for this. Wen was the only one to carry this pain, and he found it intolerable. Kimun went on not knowing of the truth that nobody was saved, and this fed into Wen's grudge. Wen then declares that he wouldn't be able to exist without hating Kimun for looking away from him.

 

Wen then awakens from his dream lying face up in the blizzard in a bad mood. He remembers that he was pulled down the cliff by Kimun, then notes with irritation that he's nowhere in sight. He casts his angry gaze around when suddenly the blizzard lets up, and Wen notices that someone is looking at him.

 

This turns out to be Koropokkur in all his pint sized child stature holding that butterbur leaf, and Wen is slightly disappointed as he asks if he came to see eat crap. Narration says that Wen knows exactly who the weird little boy looking at him the entire world with a cold expression is. Koropokkur is the one who remembers Wen's memories when he ought to have disappeared after the cycle of reincarnation. He is the one who decides where the world's growth can reach, he is the one who sees all in this frozen world, and he is the one who carries the Pillar that pins down memories. He is the eternal boy who represents the will of Kamuy Kotan.

 

Wen scoffs at Koropokkur for looking coldly at things like he always does, but narration points out that if he weren't around Wen would have disappeared as a shadow of the world. Koropokkur just stares quietly like he's done for most of his screentime so far, and Wen says he knows what it is he wants to say. But before he gets to whatever that is, Wen says he's going to fulfill his own goals first, which would be tearing Kimun to shreds. Wen screams out Kimun's name with a bundle of packed emotions. Normally it's impossible for a past self to attack their future self, but here in a past area is where he can manifest separately apparently. He doesn't know what would happen as a result of going through with the attack, but he just can't let things go...

 

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called something like Escort, Kamuy Kotan Festival! I dunno.

 

Anyways, things tune back to your end of things as narration recaps how you guys got caught up in an overworld shift on the last day of the scout jamboree. Out there is a view of the world of Kamuy Kotan, complete with blizzard and falling ice shards. And as a reminder, Kimun jumped off a cliff and dragged Wen down with him when he showed his face here. You guys have found a cave soon after and gotten some rest while worrying over Kimun's safety.

 

Kagutsuchi is quiet, and he's in the middle of focusing to light the fire with the wood the rest of the party had gathered. He then starts talking to you as he wonders if Kimun is doing okay. You agree but mention there's something else to worry about too. Kagutsuchi is surprised by this, then asks you what that is. You ask why Wen was inside of Kimun, and Shirou notes that the thought occurred to you too. If what Wen was saying was true, then he's the memories of Kimun's forgotten past. If so, why was he inside Kimun then? Why Did He Remember?

 

Kagutsuchi realizes that you guys have a point, but Shirou says there's still not enough information to go on, so he decides to change the subject. By this point Kagutsuchi has lit the firewood in his hands, creating a bright red flame. The orange light of the fire lights everyone's faces and warms everyone's bodies, bringing with it a little bit of hope. Everyone gathers around and puts some food near the fire, and Shirou picks back up with speaking. He asks everyone to listen to him as he moves to start a briefing on the current situation. You ask him to do so since you guys need to understand the current status, or you just stay quiet and look at Shirou.

 

Shirou starts by recapping how you guys got trapped in an overworld shift while descending the mountain. The overworld is Kamuy Kotan, which Kimun has told you is the world he came from, a harsh world sealed in snow and ice. Kagutsuchi speaks up to say he's not familiar with overworld shifts and asks if you guys get into them often since you guys seem to know a lot. You can either dodge the question, say you get into them once in a while, or say you bump in to them practically every day. B and C has Kagutsuchi react with awe and says he respects you for being so experienced with them.

 

In any case Aizen speaks up to say that while he is listed as a Missionary for now, he was never told about this overworld shift. He also points out that so far there's no sign that anyone else aside from your party has been trapped in this shift. Again, this happened on a mountain where tons of people have joined for an event. He asks if anyone else thinks this is a little too convenient. He suggests that the shift was made to trap you guys with Wen specifically.

 

Shirou talks about how it's believed that for an overworld shift to form, the area it forms in must resemble a place in the core Transient's memories. Moritaka points out that Kimun himself said he doesn't recognize this area. Shirou agrees and says there's too much unknown, but for now finding Kimun takes priority. Aizen raises no objections and says that's how it should roughly go in a situation like this. Narration says Shirou takes a moment to check whether anyone has any questions before continuing.

 

Shirou outlines that you guys currently have two main objectives. The first is to find Kimun, wherever he is. It'd be one thing if he's still at the bottom of that cliff, but if he walked off since then it'll be tough. Moritaka suggests trying to use his nose to try tracking him down, but Shirou says that might not help since the blizzard will likely cover any tracks or scent. Aizen sums it up as it being difficult to do anything right away. You wonder what you guys should do and worry over Kimun some more.

 

Aizen agrees that the danger can get even more complicated and suggests that Kagutsuchi keep his wits about him. Kagutsuchi is disappointed but agrees. Shirou then brings up the second main goal for the party, which would be to escape the overworld shift. Normally the thoughts of the core Transient is the key to solving the overworld shift, but as Moritaka points out again, Kimun has no apparent memories of this part of Kamuy Kotan. You wonder if Wen is the core or if it's someone else.

 

Aizen says that arguing the point any further would be armchair theorizing, so he suggests to Shirou that you guys eat if there are no other issues. Shirou agrees and says he'd like to head out as soon as the blizzard dies down. Until then, he'd like for everyone to rest up and conserve their strength. You say you guys need to eat and do your best, so you say time to eat.

 

Kagutsuchi is quiet, and Shirou tries to talk to him. Kagutsuchi says he knows, and that he'll need to be ready to roll out whenever. He then sits down to eat, which he says is for Kimun's sake. The Evils cheer up at seeing Kagutsuchi smile and start hopping, which lifts everyone's spirits.

 

Some time later, the party starts sleeping in shifts. One person keeps watch while everyone else gets some rest. Kagutsuchi sleep talks about asking Kimun (or maybe some other teacher) to wait and saying he'll be coming to stand by them. Aizen sleep talks about unacceptable indecency. The Evils wake up a little bit, and Shirou tells them it's okay as he puts his hand on them and says they can go back to bed. They go back to sleep holding his hand, and Shirou pats their head with his other hand.

 

Scene then shifts over to Kimun, spending the night in some other cave. He separated from Wen sometime during the fall from the cliff, and he made it to this cave to take shelter. He curls up in his thick fur and starts dreaming of old times, a dream of a small Mortal Child Hero he had given his kindness to in his home world.

 

This hero's name is Aynurakkur/Ae Oyna Kamui. In the Ainu language, this name means human-like kamui. He was given many names like Ponyaunpe the Little Foreigner, and he was a small yet great hero. His sword had the divine protection of dragons and could even cut this stopped world apart. This hero was raised by the wolf kamui, and Kimun gave him his fur so that he wouldn't be cold. Even now Kimun happily remembers the warmth of the small hand he held and the young smile he brushed. At that time, Kimun's heart beat hard and fast. It felt as if something was moving within this frozen world. He wanted to see the hero grow up, no matter what he would become. That was the beginning of Kimun's charity, an unforgettable shining memory.

 

Kimun wakes up with a start wondering where he is, then remembers he fell off that cliff. He comments he was sleeping and dreaming of olden days. He closes his eyes and starts thinking about what Wen said. Kimun starts thinking on the idea that he attacked the children he raised with his own hands. He remembers their smiles and their hands he held. Did he darken their smiles? Or did he stain their hands? And did the same thing happen with all the other children he gave his kindness to after that...?

 

As the snow falls outside the cave, phantoms of those beloved children appear. The unchanging pinned down memories in his heart disappear. Is it an illusion produced by the cold, or is it something else...? Whatever they are, the mental stress they cause Kimun is real. He thinks about the cherished sword hanging from his waist and wonders if he hunted the growth of children with it. The episode section ends with Kimun musing to himself that there's only one thing to do with the sword.

 

 

Onsen Jamboree Episode 5 Part 4

Things pick back up with Kimun Kamui saying he doesn't understand, then refers to Wen Kamui as his past self as he asks him for details on why he became him. Wen is surprised as he calls it a thoughtless question and says Kimun must have forgotten all the dirty work he did. Kimun tries to ask about the dirty work, so Wen asks him how much he thinks Wen dirtied his hands to keep Kamuy Kotan's stupid faith going. Kimun is caught off guard by this, and you jump in to defend him as you take a swing of your sword.

Wen is forced back a step, and Kagutsuchi is impressed that your sword skills aren't hindered by the severe cold. Aizen notes that Shirou's judgment was right, and Wen starts laughing as he says you're not bad. Wen also describes your sword as the hero's sword that shines even brighter within Kamuy Kotan's all-freezing blizzard. Aizen harrumphs and says he'll cover you, then fires off his NP. Wen manages to evade and says the numbers are against him, so he'll tip the scales back since there's still someone whose growth wasn't hunted. Then a bunch of ciramantep show up.

 

You notice that there's something different about the mobs and wonder if it's because this is another world. Wen says there's still more to be surprised about, then ambushes Aizen and cuts a piece of his clothes off. Aizen takes offense at this and calls Wen so rude to tear off his clothes, saying there's enough shamelessness around with just you. Wen casts his NP, which then creates Shadow Aizen out of the clothes scrap. Aizen thinks aloud about how Wen's artifact can manifest someone's past as another being, then realizes why he felt some deja vu when he first saw this at work. He says it's the same as Ophion's artifact, though the concept is different.

 

Shadow Aizen starts ranting about hearing a voice disturbing the public order and swearing to purge it. Aizen is surprised and asks if he's his representation of his past. Shadow Aizen answers with a yes, describing himself as the protector of public morality, strict with everyone and always striving to enforce discipline. Aizen doesn't say anything, so Shadow Aizen proceeds to declare there's no need to study into the different forms of love. Love is misconduct, and love is to be purged he yells! Aizen says he agrees after a moment, saying that thought still hasn't changed.

 

You either call Aizen's name or watch him quietly. Aizen looks sad for a moment, then tells his Shadow copy that it still doesn't know yet that That Isn't Everything. He thinks about the Missionaries and talks about their unconditional love, thinks about Kimun and Kagutsuchi and their student teacher love, the Summoners and their friendship and loyalty leading to mutual development, and he thinks of you as he trails off.

 

Anyways, Aizen declares that he's learned of many kinds of love during the jamboree. Shadow Aizen scoffs at him for showing mercy for shameless desires disguising itself as love and refers to his original as a fool. Aizen yells back that he'll purge him so that he won't be so flippant again, then starts the episode battle. More story happens after that.

 

After the battle, Shadow Aizen is baffled that his Purge Beam isn't hitting. Aizen tells him that he's only focused on how dangerous love is, meaning only one facet of it. He scoffs at the idea of being hit by a beam that treats it with a sort of fearful respect, then yells out to Ophion about realizing his inexperience again.

 

Flashback kicks in that narration sets a few weeks ago. Aizen is surprised at what he's hearing and requests Ophion to repeat himself. Ophion talks about the exchange student program with the Missionaries and says he told him to enter it. Narration describes Ophion as looking out the window in the direction of Aoyama as he speaks.

Aizen asks for an explanation, so Ophion starts off by pointing out that Aizen is always haranguing on the dangers of love. Before he'll explain he asks Aizen to say why he does that. Aizen answers that love is the most dangerous form of energy in the world. If it starts to gather on any one person it's liable to incinerate them. In which case, Aizen says he needs to control that love.

 

Ophion asks if Aizen would try to control him too under those premises. Aizen is shocked at the suggestion and insists he would never think to do so. Ophion prompts him to explain what difference there is between dangerous love and safe love. Is it an energy level difference or what? Aizen is unable to come up with an answer, so Ophion says he'll tell him one thing about love, a story about the dragon he respects and the journey he went on.

 

Ophion starts to tell a story of Oldphion, the dragon who went on a journey crossing worlds that went on so long it hollowed out what he held in his chest. It was love that pushed him on, it was that energy that spurred him to chase after someone no matter how far they would be. Ophion says he wants to know and reach those heights too someday.

 

Aizen starts to ask if he's talking about his older self, and Ophion confirms it as he says Aizen must have seen him before. Ophion tells Aizen he should go on a journey too, and when he comes back he should tell him what he's gotten from it. Aizen looks surprised, and Ophion tells him to answer his question when he gets back, so Aizen acknowledges the order.

 

Aizen narrates that he understands now, saying Ophion's radiance illuminated the world. It was the kind of love that shined on the world loved by his love, and Aizen wonders if that wasn't the love he adored. Back to the present, Aizen tells his Shadow copy that is seeing love only as a danger, hating and fearing it from the bottom of his heart. Because of that he can only think of it as something that can hurt people. Once he knows the beams are coming, he can dodge them all day as someone with a third eye. Aizen also says that beams can be used in ways other than burning things down.

 

Aizen fires out his lasers in a wide spread pattern. Doing it this way means it can't do any damage, but it also blinds Shadow Aizen out of sheer brightness. With the Shadow left open by this move, Aizen takes the opportunity to blast him with his NP. The attack is strong enough that his artifact is blown back by the recoil, and the Shadow bursts into darkness and disappears.

 

Aizen starts addressing Wen and says he now understands why he was reminded of someone when he first saw him. He knows the look in his eyes, the look of a worn out love at the end of a long journey. It's the look of sadness of having lost sight of the love and goal he had at first, leaving him with only the actions he was taking.

 

Wen is surprised that Aizen is suggesting he loved this irritating world, then more outraged than ever as he says Kamuy Kotan used him only to throw him to the ends of oblivion. Kimun pleads for Wen to stop hurting people, but Wen snaps at him to shut up and says Kimun only ever spoke of love. Aizen notes that Wen hasn't been giving a proper explanation for a while and asks him to do so. Wen then agrees to talk about System Kamuy Kotan and their roles.

 

You ask about either of those points, and Wen starts talking about how Kimun picks out weak children of mortals and gives things to them. The thing is, the flip side of choosing something is that all other choices are not picked. To give special treatment to a child is the same as abandoning the others as not being special. In this world, bear kamui are given the role of preserving the balance of life. Kimun is to hunt down animals and give their meat and fur to children to extend their lives. Wen is to hunt the children who ended up growing to continue the world. As such, Wen and Kimun are two in one, opposites meant to fulfill the purpose of bear kamui.

 

Kimun is shocked by this declaration, and Wen explains that's why Wen carries the memories while Kimun doesn't. He asks if Kimun gets the significance behind that, though Kimun doesn't answer. Wen tells him it's because having those memories would get in the way of properly acting in his class in giving love and gifts to people. Wen's hate for the world that drove him to do dirty business would just be a hindrance.

 

Kimun tries to argue about not having those memories, and Wen angrily says he shouldn't have them since he left them behind every time he reincarnated. This outburst blasts everyone present with Wen's force of will. Wen then starts talking about how he gets called Wen Kamui for obstructing growth and protecting the world's eternity and how he gets forced out of the world's faith. Once the equilibrium is preserved, Kimun would reincarnate again and Kamuy Kotan lives happily ever after. Wen calls himself Kimun's shadow cut off by the world and his inconvenient memories. Kimun asks if that's why he himself attacked the beloved the children repeatedly, and you call out either of their names.

More ciramantep show up growling, and Aizen is shocked there's still so many of them hiding in the snowfall. He notes that you guys are in a disadvantage if this is their territory. Wen says it's time to stop playing and that you guys shouldn't be able to put up a real fight here. He talks about how his class has been hounding at him and about hunting down everyone, but Kimun cuts him off with a roar, grabbing him and dragging him with him down the cliff. You try to call after him, but Aizen stops you from going since you guys can't see the bottom, which would put your life at risk too.

 

You demand that Aizen let go of you so that you can go save Kimun, but Aizen flat out refuses because you're an important teammate. Kagutsuchi notices something and points it out, and Koropokkur pops up all of a sudden. He says nothing, but he stares at your sword as if missing someone from a far off memory. Koropokkur eventually jumps off the cliff and floats down as if his leaf were a parachute, disappearing from view. With no one to lead them the ciramantep scatter, and a voice calls out to you after that.

Shirou tells you not to continue since he doesn't want to lose two teammates at once, and he walks up supported by Moritaka. Aizen is surprised and asks if he's okay to move already. Shirou says his head still feels fuzzy, but he's recovered a bit thanks to Aizen. You either try to tell Shirou about Kimun, say you need to go save him, or say you won't do that. Shirou sympathizes but asks you to calm down since he doesn't want to abandon him either. But as things stand, everyone's been hurt and the snow storm is weakening you all further. No one has the strength to find a way around the cliff, so for now the party needs to regroup and reassess its condition. He begs you to understand, and you tell him you know and thank him.

 

Aizen suggests believing in Kimun and says that fortunately, this world is Kimun's world so he knows it well. Moritaka agrees, saying that moving recklessly and compounding the situation would go counter to Kimun's teachings. He suggests making use of the experiences you guys had during the event. Shirou then directs everyone to go to the cave that was found earlier so that you guys can rest and recover your stuff.

 

Time moves to the point you guys reach the cave, which is bigger than expected and provides protection from the wind and snow. You comment that you guys can rest here and wonder if there are any bears inside. Moritaka assures you that his nose can confirm the safety of the cave. Shirou asks you guys to listen to him once you put your bags down so that he can assign jobs. You either express relief that Shirou is okay and say the Evils are fine too, or you can bark for some reason.

 

In A and B, Shirou says the Evils did their best to warm him up. On the way over his vision cleared up and the Evils calmed down. Aizen then muses that this is parental love. In C, Moritaka tries to insist that he isn't a dog, but you cut him off by patting his head, which he calls cheating.

 

Anyways, Shirou asks Moritaka to take entrance guard duty. Moritaka agrees to do it and says the cold won't bother him with his fur. Shirou then assigns the Evils to gather everyone's bags so they can do an inventory check for food and usable items. Since there's no knowing how long it'll take to solve the overworld shift, Shirou wants a clear idea of what you guys have on hand. The Evils chatter in acknowledgment.

 

Before Shirou decides to assign any other jobs, he asks Aizen if the portable tub is usable. Aizen says he hasn't tried it out but it should be fine. He also says that the manufacturer said it could use firewood too. Shirou then asks you and Aizen to set the bath up. Aizen isn't against the idea but he mentions not having much water left, so he'd prefer to save it for drinking. Shirou says it'll be fine and starts explaining the idea of using empty bags to collect snow for the bath water, so Aizen says he understands and will get on that. Shirou then asks Kagutsuchi to use his fire to keep people warm as they work, and Kagutsuchi says he'll do his best.

 

The party splits off to do their respective tasks, and the bathtub works without issue. In the middle of taking turns bathing and warming up, Aizen starts making a face at you. You ask what's going on, and Aizen says it's your and his turn to use the bath next. He does admit he does have something he needs to talk to you about though, so he prompts you to get in as he calls you love singularity before correcting to your name. You can choose to make it a foot bath or a full bath.

 

Once you guys are in, Aizen is quiet. You either try to talk to him or try to think of something to say. Aizen sits there looking awkward for a while before eventually complaining that nothing could be more uncomfortable than this. He demands that you say something, or else he will. You decide to let Aizen speak first, though if you phrase it as "just talk" he calls you detestable but says that's why you're his archenemy.

 

But anyways Aizen starts talking about how you guys got past the danger earlier by using what you learned during the event. These were things that he didn't know while he was at Roppongi, stuff he learned from reexamining himself away from his normal stomping grounds. Aizen learned about many kinds of love as well as survival techniques. You either say Aizen's name or keep quiet.

Aizen says what Wen said hit him hard, specifically the bit where making a choice means discarding all others. He goes back to calling you love singularity, saying the love energy collecting around you is so disgustingly huge it could blow up Tokyo. That makes you a danger like he thought you were. He still believes this to be true.

 

However, Aizen also doesn't feel that the love of the rest of the party is worth less than that. It's all energy that moves everyone forward, something everyone has even if it is dangerous. He talks about learning a new way to use his beams through his new perspective, which leads to the conclusion that there are other possible outcomes to being the focus of so much love besides destruction. Aizen says he also knows that it won't instantly solve the world's problems that Wen talked about. It's a competition of life scrambling for the limited time and heat, and Aizen doesn't know how to handle that at the moment.

 

Aizen isn't giving up though since he has a task to fulfill for Ophion. He declares that he will make it back and have something of an answer for the love that shines upon the world. And so...Aizen gets a little flustered before saying that you can't fall here. You will both escape as teammates, and if you go down before him, he'll purge you. You either say you accept, or you say you're associates until then. In A, Aizen snorts and says it's a good response. In B Aizen says he knows and that he won't repeat himself.

 

Narration sums up that the party has suddenly been caught in a blizzard in Kamuy Kotan. You could die at any moment, and the yell you get from your rival in this horrible situation burns hot within you even after getting out of the bath, and the episode ends.
