Arslan tries to come
up with an explanation and just tells him that he can get some clothes
made. Zabaniya still doesn’t understand and wonders why it has to be
him. Maria tells Arachne and Arslan that they’re getting too far ahead
of things. Gabriel says she agrees with wanting Zabaniya to switch up
outfits more, but she also says it’s unfair to go on ahead without
asking what Zabaniya thinks.
Arslan sorta
whines that he feels the same but asks Arachne if they should pull
things back a step. She protests being asked for agreement for a moment,
but she does say it would be wrong to force things. Zabaniya says he
doesn’t get what’s happening at all and turns to you for an explanation.
You sympathize and then do so.
One
explanation later, Zabaniya understands that this is a continuation of
the conversation from the other day. Arslan tries pleading with Zabaniya
to try having Arachne make something to his surprise. Arslan says the
vest was recommended as a joke, but he also wants to dress Zabaniya up.
He says he’s being too restrained, and that no one really wants him to
live in the background denying himself.
Zabaniya
doesn’t have anything to say at first, but eventually apologizes and
reiterates that he feels dressing up is unnecessary in his case. He
talks again about how he feels clothes are a way of showing your
professional duties, so what he has on already is enough.
Arachne
stays quiet, and Gabriel tries to convince him that maybe he’ll find
something he likes. He’s cool and all, and if he tries something
on...Maria joins in and says it could be nice to have some personal
clothes if the occasion calls for it. Gabriel agrees with that and asks
if he had fun during the seaside school camp and at Halloween.
Zabaniya
says he did indeed enjoy those times. However, he then says that’s how
he should be for unusual times. He frames Halloween as a time to comfort
purgatorial souls and says he wanted that with all his heart. It’s a
different situation as opposed to having fun regular days.
Zabaniya
calls himself the one who torments the sins of others despite not being
the Almighty. As long as his job exists, he’d prefer to keep that
mindset. He feels he should always be aware of the role he’s proud of
and the sins it comes with and never forget, which is his reason for
wearing what he does. You either say his name sadly, say he’s too
straight-laced, or stay quiet.
Gabriel is
disappointed and says that’s not what she wanted to say. She starts
wondering why it is that she can’t get her meaning across, then seems
ready to cry as she remembers her past failures to communicate. Arslan
comments about how the hurdle seems to be so tough.
Arachne
sighs and seems to know what’s happening, then talks about gradually
being able to see his Shadow. She says Zabaniya isn’t talking about
clothes, but restraints. He makes no attempt to deny it. Arachne then
says that bondage does count as a type of fashion, but she declares that
clothes that bind a soul must no exist.
Arachne
then puts her own personal theory forward. She believes clothes are
about joy, discovery, and unleashing the potential of a new self. They
are in no way supposed to be a thing for binding oneself, since that
would be the same as abandoning the variety in fashion.
Arachne
then declares that fashion is about making Shadows charming. Shades are
what makes things stand out and what sublimates glamor. You say you’re
starting to understand what she’s talking about bit by bit. Gabriel
seems touched as well.
Anyways Arachne
tells Zabaniya that his clothes do look good, but she can’t see them
going anywhere. He responds that he doesn’t understand her after all.
She admits she doesn’t know where she’s going with this either, but she
feels seeing is believing. She intends to deny all nonsense thrown at
her along with the idea of being behind the times. This goes double for
any fashion that would hide your true self.
She
swears to have Zabaniya take part in fashion too, specifically hers.
Arslan tries to convince him to go along with it saying it could be a
new opportunity. He believes Zabaniya thought about changing and being
able to change, and that he genuinely believed that. But even so
Zabaniya tries to say he doesn’t wish to dress up normally.
Gabriel
snaps a little and calls him stubborn, then says it’ll be fine for him
to do it a little bit. Arachne is quiet, so you try to talk to her and
suggest starting the measurement battle. She asks if you’ll listen to
her, even though she did just make a huge speech and all.
Arachne
tells you that while she calls it measuring, it’s different from taking
regular measurements for making clothes. The important part is that
measuring the minor details is an ironclad requirement. Doing so in
battle means it’s even more so. The best measurements must be done in
the highest conditions.
When asked what
that means, Arachne says that if Zabaniya doesn’t agree to it then she
can’t do the measurement battle, which is a problem. Zabaniya tries to
excuse himself if there’s nothing else happening, but Arslan blocks the
way and suggests they play shogi until the prep is done. Gabriel also
tries to stop him by saying she always wanted to do a duet with him and
starts singing.
Zabaniya tries to get them
to let go so he can go to his next order of business, and Arachne tries
to think of something. Maria suggest that if Zabaniya doesn’t want
casual clothes they could try a different approach. For example they
could have him do a new job. Arachne thinks it’s a good idea and asks
what job she’s talking about.
Azazel pops
up out of wherever to say he can explain. Arachne is surprised by his
sudden appearance and asks who he is. She also adds that his chain is
mysterious and wonderful. He comments on how lucky it is to have someone
compliment it like so and thanks her.
Maria
doesn’t bat an eye at Azazel inserting himself into the conversation
and asks if he has an idea. Azazel talks about the functions of the
church and suggests a priest’s outfit for marriage ceremonies to
Zabaniya’s shock. Arachne says she likes that idea.
Azazel
says he’s currently in charge of being the priest for the church hall.
It’s not a problem for there to be one person on that detail, but he
suggests it’d be helpful if there’s a substitute if something were to
happen. Zabaniya tries to protest, though Azazel bowls over him with a
guilt trip.
Arslan catches on to where
things are going and figures that if Zabaniya is so set against casual
clothes they could get him some new work clothes. Zabaniya tries
protesting to him next that a torturer would be inappropriate for
officiating over people starting a new chapter in their lives. Arslan
argues that it’s the opposite, saying he could be a good fit because
he’s so aware of his sins.
Arslan frames a
marriage as a vow and ceremony that ties two people together, two people
who made mistakes over the course of their lives. It is because one
knows of their sins and mistakes that they can have tolerance for
others, whoever they may be. So since Zabaniya behaves that way, Arslan
feels he can do it.
Zabaniya still feels
like he’s not worthy of the position since it’s so important. You either
agree with the idea of Father Zabaniya, say you want him to preside
over your marriage ceremony, or say you want to marry him. Whichever way
you go he decides that if you think so then he can try it out. If you
pick C, it’s after that first line that he processes what you just said
and insists that he misheard you.
Arachne
sums up the order as work clothes, specifically a formal suit for a
priest. Azazel says that since there are many kinds of marriage
ceremonies, a simple kind of formal suit would be most appropriate.
Arachne agrees saying steps are important no matter what it’s about. Pro
designers had to start somewhere, like making dust cloths.
Arachne
then says it’s time to start the measuring battle. Zabaniya is
surprised that she’ll take his measurements in the middle of a fight and
says she’s doing something even more eccentric. She laughs and says
she’ll measure everything about him.
Arachne
also says everyone else should join in so that she can measure more
about him. It’s for things like how he acts and fights around others. At
this point she realizes that the numbers may be a bit too skewed to one
side since she forgot about Tsathoggua not being here. She shrugs it
off and says you two will just have to get on with it. You either agree,
suggest that the power difference may be too much, or wonder if anyone
will come help you.
Maria apologizes to
Azazel for getting him involved. He shrugs it off saying he came of his
own accord to watch Zabaniya take off on a new path. Gabriel says it’ll
be okay and says she’s sure Arachne can make it work. Maria is surprised
by this and asks why the change of heart considering she seemed angry
the other day.
Gabriel laughs and says she
understands after talking with her now. She doesn’t get through all the
way saying what she feels Arachne is doing or feeling as Arslan starts
talking about how he understands a battle is happening even if he
doesn’t get how it got to this point. Zabaniya agrees and says they can
show their training results here.
Zabaniya
and Arachne then face each other off as he says he won’t hold back and
asks her to not underestimate things. He also asks for her name before
things start. She gives him her name and asks him to think of her as a
lady aiming to be a top class designer. He says he understands and
cautions her to not get burned by him, and Arachne starts the episode
battle. Things continue after it.
After the
battle, the story picks up with Gabriel commenting on how the red
flames and silver thread look beautiful flying in the air after she’s
withdrawn from the fight. Narration then compares Wakan Tanka’s
measuring to mechanical sewing while Zabaniya’s would be textile
weaving.
Zabaniya expresses surprise at how
dextrous Arachne is, then apologizes for how much he’s held back. His
flames turn into an assortment of reds, which seem to show the hidden
pain he’s suffered and display the road he’s taken to this point.
Arachne says it looks fabulous and that his Shadow will make her fashion
tremble. She also says that if she doesn’t step it up she might get
burned by his hidden passion in an instant. Arachne then swears to
depict his fashion through her skills.
Arachne’s
threads start sewing together into a bunch of different patterns as
they start spinning Zabaniya’s Shadow into something. At that point
Arachne has her flash of insight into him and talks about how she can
see it much more clearly than before they battled.
Maria
says she can see that something seems different with Zabaniya’s flames.
She says it’s like something is fluctuating in them, like their light
and shadow. Azazel agrees and says Zabaniya’s doubts and confusion are
being shown through the fire.
Arslan says
he has his own ideas too. He talks about how Zabaniya is holding
conflicting ideas and anguish, though he doesn’t get it all out as
Arachne declares that the measuring is done. She takes a deep breath and
says it was a good battle, though she was almost about to get burned.
She starts wavering as she moves to wipe some sweat and you call out to
her, but Zabaniya catches her from behind.
He
asks if she’s okay, and Arachne thanks him. She also says it’s so
sinful of him to show his gentle side to her. They both look each other
over to check if they’re hurt, then slowly separate. Gabriel says she
got inspired watching them fight and wonders about using it as reference
for her new song’s choreography.
Arachne
says it’s the end of the measuring again and thanks everyone for
helping. Maria offers everyone drinks and snacks. Arachne figures she
may as well, then says she likes how stylish the baked treats are.
Gabriel talks about how excited she is for Zabaniya’s new clothes that
she might not be able to sleep until they’re done and asks if Maria
agrees. Maria just laughs about how Gabriel is enjoying things.
Arslan
laughs too and says it’s probably going to take a while to make.
Arachne says it isn’t an issue and says she can go back, get it done,
and come back to do the whole unveiling production within the day to his
shock. Maria points out it should take time to get to her workplace and
asks if it’s close by.
Arachne says it’s a
bit far but it’s not a problem because you guys have Tsathoggua to
teleport you guys. You have to remind her that Tsathoggua is out today,
and it takes a moment to sink in. She calls herself a huge idiot and
says she’s always getting carried away which then causes huge problems.
Arslan
laughs saying it’s good she’s calmed down and calls her restless.
Arachne insists she has to leave now, though she takes a moment to thank
them for the refreshments. Maria says it’s unfortunate but it’ll be
hard to get a bus or a taxi at that time of day. Arslan points out that
even if she got a car she might not actually be back by today between
going to another ward and making the suit.
You
can either suggest running for it or calling Tsathoggua. Arachne is in a
tizzy about wanting to get her inspiration materialized as soon as
possible, but she says you guys can’t call Tsathoggua to help when he’s
sick. Azazel then steps in to suggest that she could use one of the
clothing rooms at Daikanyama. There should also be general tools there
too.
Arachne is desperate enough to jump at
the offer and asks if she can use that room. Azazel says it’s okay,
since he also wants to go see Zabaniya take a thorny new
path as soon as possible. Zabaniya still catches that, though Azazel
passes it off as a small mistake. You say that’s great and thank Azazel,
then ask Arachne if she’ll be okay with not working in her own office.
Arachne
says she’ll try to make it work since that’s what she does. Arslan says
he’ll take care of the formalities so she can use the sewing club room
or whatever, then asks Maria and Gabriel to help her. Gabriel says she
will and that she can at least help with getting scissors and measuring
tools. Maria then says she’ll show Arachne the way. Arachne thanks them
for their help.
Zabaniya is quiet, and
Arachne says she wants to confirm what he wants one last time before
going. He still has some reservations about all this, but if he needs it
for his new position, then he’ll be counting on her to make that suit.
She says she’ll take care of it, then says it’ll be a few hours and
excuses herself as the episode part ends.
