Li Chou goes as far as to say that he
wants the people who have ‘come back’ due to Kizuki/the Ghost Festival
to visit Asakusa Temple. The President tries to get Li to calm down and
says he’s not that against the idea. He offers to talk to the temple
priest but says it might turn into a debacle. After that he comments on
how passionate Li is and his surprise at how current Umamichi students
are.
Flashback then shifts over to
Daikanyama where Li Chou has just asked Maria about collaborating
festivals, saying he wants to do something that’s never been done
before. Maria says she’ll pray for his success but tells him she doesn’t
think many people will agree at Daikanyama due to Umamichi’s
reputation.
Li Chou is quiet for a moment
before saying he understands. Even so he’d still like to show people
that the students there aren’t scary and that the school has lots of
good points to it through the festival. He doesn’t want the school to be
prejudged as a delinquents school and appeals to Maria for help.
Maria
notes that Li Chou is trying very hard for the festival and says she
can see his love. She agrees to try talking to the people on her side
again, so he thanks her. Maria hopes that that things will turn out
great, then starts talking about how there was never much of an exchange
between their schools before.
Maria says
the reason is because the love they advocate and the path that Umamichi
talks about are thought of as different things. To elaborate, love is
seen as a connection to one thing while paths are seen as something that
will split towards many things. Maria personally doesn’t think that
there’s no room for overlap though, and Li Chou agrees.
Flashback
shifts back to Umamichi as Li Chou calls for Sanat Kumara. He shows up
and comments that it’s unusual for Li to be in a good mood. Li in turn
says that he’s been told the neighbors around the school agreed to
decorate for Halloween. They did make it conditional that it better not
lead to trouble though, but hey they agreed.
Li
is happy that things seem to be turning around and swears to make it as
popular as Daikanyama’s event. Sanat Kumara compliments him for getting
results after all the bowing and scraping he did. Li talks about how
they’ll start their festival at night, partly due to the distance
involved. Still he plans on getting everyone to see how amazing the
place is at night. He even plans to have a parade as the finisher.
Li
Chou asks Sanat Kumara’s opinion as he says this will be the end of the
gangster school image. Sanat notes that Li is trying to get to some
higher far off place, and Li brags about how he’ll get there himself
without having to deal with the uncultured swine. He aims to be someone
completely different from who he’s been up to this point.
Sanat
Kumara goes quiet, which Li Chou notices. Sanat then has a question for
him. He likes that Li knows his shame, but he also says that Li is far
too afraid of it. He talks about how failure is embarrassing and
something people want to forget. But failure is also a part of the path
he’s taken, even if he has supernatural powers. No one can make it so
that they’ve never failed before.
Anyways,
Sanat Kumara says all that is also a wall that Li Chou has to overcome
probably. He stops with the point he’s trying to make and tells Li to
move towards where he wants to go. Whatever comes of it, he needs to
look closely at what the results are.
Li
Chou picks up with narrating, saying it seemed like Sanat Kumara seemed
sad when he told him that. He wonders if it’s because Sanat knew it
would turn out as a failure like this. If so, he wonders why he wasn’t
told. If it was going to fail to begin with, he’d never have bothered.
Li
asks why things turned out like this. Where did he go wrong and fail
at? He chants that he doesn’t want to fail. If he were to do so again,
he...doesn’t finish that thought.
Title card pops up, and this chapter is called Decisive Battle! Heroic Hallow Night
Things
then tune back in as Ryouta turns up at the temple market street taking
a breather and saying it’s really rough being on a packed train after
eating. Behemoth apologizes and says it was his fault for going around
Daikanyama. Ryouta brushes it off since it’s also why they managed to
find everyone, so all’s well that ends well.
Kengo
talks about how they got stuck in the train doors while carrying lots
of street food. Touji says it took some time to share and eat through a
bunch of it, but they couldn’t go wasting food. Behemoth says he’ll be
careful so that this doesn’t happen again.
Ryouta
notes that Shirou’s been quiet and wonders if he’s still with them.
Shirou is there having something of a PTSD episode, which Ryouta finds
alarming but Kengo says it’s business as usual from looking after people
too much. Touji sighs and says the guys could have handled it even if
Shirou wasn’t there and says this is why he’s not inclined to be
festive.
Kengo needles Touji about stuffing
himself with pumpkin youkan, and Touji tries to excuse himself saying
he couldn’t resist the sweetness. Shirou then comes to and asks what
happened while he was out, so Behemoth announces he’s okay and tells him
that they’re heading for Umamichi.
Shirou
asks why the gang is headed for Asakusa Temple then, so Kengo says some
of Ryouta’s friends are at a costume rental near the place and waiting.
Touji adds that there’s a lot of tourist shops near the market street,
which makes it ideal for costume places. Ryouta wanted the gang to dress
up too if there was time, but Shirou notes there isn’t.
Ryouta
admits to that so he figures they’ll just go as is. Touji then spots
Ryouta’s friends and comments that they look out of season. Yule spots
the gang at that point and greets them, going Merry Christmas before
correcting to Happy Halloween. Ryouta happily greets him back while
Shirou expresses surprise at the Santa costume. He does admit it counts
as a costume though.
Yule laughs and says
he was originally thinking of something else, but he didn’t have the
time after helping Krampus get dressed up. Since he’s going with this,
Krampus will be going as something extra special. Shirou asks where
Krampus is, so Yule moves over to reveal Krampus is hiding behind him
and his bag.
Krampus is embarrassed and
asks people to not stare at him. Touji is surprised at his choice of a
King Yama costume, so Krampus says he wasn’t originally planning to
dress up. He also says Yule pushes him into it since it was Halloween.
Yule is surprised at this since he saw Krampus staring at the window and
was interested because of that. Krampus says he was looking at a
tokusatsu costume.
Yule is shocked at that
and asks if he wants to go back and switch, but Krampus declines because
it’s too small. Ryouta suggests that Krampus could have gone with his
wrestling outfit from way back since he thought that was cool. Krampus
thinks it’s too embarrassing to walk around in, but then says it’s more
that he only wants to be dressed like that in the ring.
Krampus
goes back on that too and says he doesn’t want to be dressed like that
outside the ring. It has to be saved for something like an ultimate
showdown between rivals! Ryouta’s taken aback at this and drops the
point, and Touji comments on how it’s so troublesome.
Kengo
changes the subject and talks about how unusual it is to see Santa
School people outside of Christmas. Yule agrees after thinking about it
and says they don’t usually go out when it isn’t Christmas. They spend
the year researching what kids are excited about. Krampus says the Black
Santa side of things research what scares them instead.
Yule
says they started talking about dressing up and joining for Halloween,
but Krampus says the King Yama costume was the only one they had in his
size. Kengo figures it’s fine since there’s some commonality between
Yama and Krampus’s regular work. Behemoth adds that it looks great with
his tough looks, and Krampus is flattered as he compares it to old
school management level villains.
Behemoth
gets a text from Ziz, and Shirou comments that Ziz is supposed to be at
Umamichi already. Behemoth then relays that Ziz will be leaving
temporarily for personal stuff and will be back soon and that you’re
with her. Ryouta wonders what that’s about before suggesting heading to
the market street.
Touji figures that
Ryouta must be going for the famous fried manju they have, and Ryouta
admits to it with some embarrassment. He also says he wants to go see
all the decorations since they don’t usually do that. Shirou is fine
with it but says they should hurry since there isn’t that much spare
time. Yule tells Krampus they should go too, but Krampus thinks going in
his costume is a bad idea. Ryouta assure him it’s cool and starts
pulling him along.
Scene shifts back to
your side as Motosumi shows everyone around while trying to find the
missing jiangshi. Crowds are huge what with the tourist joints and
Halloween stuff put up, which Harlot eventually points out along with
the presence of jiangshi. Motosumi says nothing’s happened yet, then
tells his kids to not let go. Ziz reassures him that she’s holding their
hands.
Motosumi comments that Ziz calling
them his children sounds misleading but asks for her help in keeping
track of them. Tetsugyuu gets bumped into and threatens whoever it is,
then asks Harlot to not trip over herself looking for the mobs.
Harlot
in turn is surprised at his worry over her and says she’ll dump anyone
who hurts her or children into the trash. For now though she thanks him
for his concern. She hates violent men, but she says she’ll be nice to
children who’ve been hurt. He feels awkward about her patting him on the
head when Harlot segues it into a threat telling him not to hurt the
jiangshi either or else.
You comment on all
the people and jiangshi around and hope nothing happens. Motosumi talks
about how people associate Asakusa with Kaminarimon, Asakusa Temple,
and the market street. Lots of tourists from other worlds come by
throughout the year. Ziz wonders if the people in costume are also
coming to the school festival and comments on all the types of people
mixed together with the tourists.
Motosumi
adds that the market street decorating for Halloween also is bringing in
attention. With all the crowds here he figures Li Chou must be sticking
his nose in the air all proud of himself. Li is preoccupied though, so
Motosumi teases him for looking like some sad stray. He objects to this
immediately.
You comment about how Motosumi
and Li Chou seem to get on well, say they speak similarly, or ask if Li
is okay. Going A, Motosumi says it’s been like that since they first
met a while ago. Flashback kicks in as he asks if Li is used to the
school yet. Li seems afraid of him, but Motosumi warns him to not show
it if he doesn’t want the thugs to target him. He decides to teach him
to speak like a gangster, which Li doesn’t seem enthused about.
As
flashback ends, Li Chou freaks out and says that’s supposed to be a
secret. Motosumi laughs and says he did promise and points out that he’s
taken well to it. In any case Li gets defensive at you looking at him
and accuses you of looking down on him. You either deny it one of two
ways or just silently stare.
In A and B at
least, he accepts it after a beat but says you better remember that.
Anyways Gouryou runs up after managing to get through the crowds and
Benten says the crowd control was pretty tight. You comment on Gouryou
being all sweaty, on Benten being there, or ask about there being crowd
control.
Gouryou asks if Hanuman and Nezha
are here yet, but figured if crowd control is up then they can’t do
anything about that. Crowd control is news to Li Chou though, but Benten
thinks it was his idea. She says the one in charge was doing improv rap
for the people waiting to get in. They had cool and dark tracks and are
trending on social media as the Mystery DJ Halloween in Asakusa.
Li
Chou repeats that he has no idea what any of that is. Gouryou asks
about him not knowing but shrugs and says eccentrics do their own things
on Halloween.
Anyways Harlot talks about
how some of the Resurrection Incense smoke has wafted over to the area,
but fortunately there doesn’t seem to be any effects yet. Gouryou says
there hasn’t been a trigger, so if nothing happens the jiangshi are good
obedient students.
Li Chou suggests
catching all the jiangshi now while things are peaceful, but suddenly
Scheheristine screams that the jiangshi are pulling pranks on her. Li
freaks out, and you comment on the convenient timing and how it’s the
same voice as in the gym.
The jiangshi
start falling under the influence and start acting out. At one stall
they start playing with the goods there, and at another the stall owner
begs them to not eat her stuff. Li Chou pales as he tries to beg them to
stop as he especially doesn’t want an incident to happen in the market
street. He falls to his knees and covers his face he’s so aghast.
Benten
asks what’s going on since this isn’t just prank level stuff the mobs
are doing. Harlot says the stall sellers won’t be making any
distinctions about what the mobs are doing. Gouryou says his suspicions
are getting stronger and says the timing was too perfect. You ask if
someone is manipulating the events or stay quiet.
Harlot
doesn’t know why anyone would do this but says if anyone is taking
advantage of those pure children, she’s gonna do something or other.
Gouryou agrees they’re being used but says it feels like there’s some
strange string pulling then. Then he notices something.
Someone
is yelling about how the mobs can’t take the pie they have since it’s
for you and Hanuman as a present. You either recognize the voice, ask
who called, or focus on the present part. Ryouta tries saying no,
briefly considering only one per person before taking it back since
there isn’t enough for that.
Kengo just
yells wondering where they all came from, which Yule echoes. Touji tells
everyone to get away from the jiangshi since something is wrong with
them. Shirou says they’re all over the place before asking where
Behemoth went. He turns out to be nearby being forcefed by some mobs,
and Ryouta notices it’s the famous fried manju they’re feeding him.
A
bunch of other mobs are trying to take Yule’s Santa bag, and he asks if
Halloween was supposed to be like this. Krampus apparently blows one
away as he says it’s wrong. Yule has to ask what he means, so Krampus
says his intuition is saying the mobs aren’t bad kids. He also picks up
that people around them want the mobs to be bad kids, which confuses
him.
As jiangshi crowd around Krampus, Yule
is amazed at his lack of a reaction to that. You call out and say
you’re coming to help. Sanat Kumara seems surprised the gang is here but
decides it’s less important than the other things he needs to deal
with.
You try to talk to Sanat Kumara, and
you internally note that he seems different now but think that it’s
reasonable if things outside the school are causing issues. Sanat asks
if Li Chou has a plan and says he’ll do things his way if there isn’t.
Harlot accuses his methods of being violent and says she’ll calm the
mobs down.
Tetsugyuu offers to help Harlot
since she’s a friend of yours and gets ready to fight, but she tells him
not to hurt them. He gets flustered but says he knows. Tetsugyuu also
comments that Harlot scolding him makes him feel like his mother is
scolding him, which weirds him out.
Sanat
Kumara denies acting for the sake of violence and says he’s trying to
help his beloved kouhai tread a more innocent path. It just happens to
require the use of force to fix it sometimes. He tries to compare
stopping someone from straying from their path to parental love.
Harlot
asks if he’s trying to show his model for it, but promises to give him
hell if the kids are hurt. Ziz steps in to keep the topic from going on
and influencing the mobs any more. She then tells Motosumi they need to
evacuate the children from the area, and he agrees as he tells them to
not let go of Ziz.
The kids worry over
what’s happening as they ask if the mobs are okay and will go back to
normal. Motosumi crouches down to pat their heads and tells them it’ll
be okay. In the meantime they should wait and eat some pie. They wish
you guys good luck.
Li Chou stands there
quietly, so Motosumi tells him to move his ass since the festival is
still on before taking the kids elsewhere. Sanat Kumara also tries to
talk Li into action or giving him some directions.
Li
Chou eventually says he can’t trick anyone anymore. He can’t think of
any possible way of hiding his failure out there in such a public area.
Sanat Kumara tells him it’s okay to sit and hang his head to his shock.
He concedes that Li’s artifact has to be handled with care and that he
understands his reluctance to use it. Still, doesn’t he have other
things he could do?
If Li Chou still says
he won’t do anything then Sanat Kumara says he can do that. You either
object to his phrasing, go on with Harlot and Tetsugyuu, or express some
sadness over Li. Sanat doesn’t look back, but you see some sadness in
his eyes. Li Chou starts venting about how he didn’t want to fail, and
you spare him a glance before you head over to start the episode battle.
