Live A Hero Reminiscence of Ghostwoods Episode 8 (Abridged)

Flamier: Gorou, Lilac! I'll draw the enemy's attention, so you two attack!
Sui: I'll follow up and help you, Flamier!
Flamier: Thank you. Let's go!
Flamier super jump, away!
Flamier: I swore to these shoes I would do everything I wanted to do to its end! ...Grandfather, I haven't forgotten what you've taught me. Here I come!
Flamier's shoes start glowing and leaving a light trail as she moves.
BOOM
Monsters: Geeee...
Gorou: Whoa, Flamier combined light and explosions in one move!
The Monsters have been stunned by Flamier's light blast!
MC: The enemy's attentions is on Flamier! Sui, take them all out!

Sui: Got it! Master, I'm going to copy your techniques. I'll string you all up! Fairy Godmother's Dressmaker!
Sui sends out nearly invisible strings to bind any Monsters trying to escape.
Sui: Flamier! Burn it all!
Flamier: Thank you Sui! Now I can bomb them all at once! Fire Flower Bomber!
Giant explosion!
Lilac: Sui and Flamier did great! Now it's our turn!
Gorou: Right, I'll help out!
Gorou and Lilac run in while Sui and Flamier have drawn most of the aggro. The Big Monster notices and creates more minion ghosts in response.
Gorou: What, it thinks it'll protect itself with a mob meat shield? I'll put them all to sleep and set you up for Lilac! Let me play you the song of my people!
Gorou's sound waves spread across the Monsters, who react by attempting to run away.

MC: It's working Gorou! Now's your chance, Lilac!
Lilac: Thank you, Gorou!
Lilac superjumps at the Reaper type Monster. The Reaper readies its scythe to counterattack!
Lilac: How dare you use my brother's memories against me! I will cut you out by the root! Garden Shears X-Scissors!
Lilac beats the Monster to the punch and stabs its core!
Lilac: I will never let you go for that stunt!
Lilac stabs the shears in even harder!
Monster: L-L-LOVELYYYYY (poofs)

Sui: Look! The ghost Monsters are disappearing too.
Flamier: We did it! Lilac destroyed the main boss's core!
Gorou: ...yeah, looks like Lilac moved on too.
Lilac falls to his knees from pushing so hard on his weapon.
Lilac: (panting) It's over...now--
One Monster in the middle of disappearing comes at Lilac from behind.
MC: Lilac, look out!
Lilac: Oh no!
MC being the closest runs in without thinking. Since Lilac can't move, MC uses the toy sword and swings at the Monster. Surprisingly, it knocks it back really hard.
MC: W-what!?
MC looks at the sword. It breaks, having finished its job.
Lilac: MC, are you okay!? You saved me, but that was so dangerous! Normal weapons don't work on Monsters!
MC: Sorry, I moved before thinking... and actually why did the sword work?
Lilac: ...no, I'm sorry. I panicked in the surprise of it all, thank you... I can get up now. My apologizes for prompting you into recklessness. Please let me handle the rest.

Lilac stands in front of MC to face against the Monster. It looks like some pixellated shadow, but it still mimics Hashidoi.
Shadow: Li...la...c...
Lilac: I won't fall for that anymore, no matter how much you mimic my brother... he's always been inside me, ever since that day...
Lilac thinks back to that time he wasn't able to say 'sorry.' He whispers goodbye to those feelings, then grips his weapon.
Lilac: Hashidoi, I've gotten stronger. Would I be able to protect you now?
The instant Lilac finishes his question, the Monster fades to mist.
MC: ...good job. Finishing the operation.

With the Monsters gone, MC walks over to Lilac. The rest of the party runs over to regroup.
Gorou: MC! Is Lilac okay?
Lilac: Yes, I'm just a little tired but I'm alright.
Gorou: That's great then! Now we just need to find the kid and...hey, is that...?
Gorou sees the little boy fallen at the sacred tree's roots. Gorou runs over and picks him up. The boy is breathing.
Gorou: ...seems he's asleep. Did the Monster get him already earlier? Good thing we made it in time...
Sui: That's Celt's brother. I'm so glad we rescued him safe and sound.
Flamier: He doesn't have any serious injuries. We should still take him to the hospital once we get out of the forest though.
Gorou: Right. And we should let the family know since they'll be worried.
Lilac: Yes. Let's go back on the path we marked up.

Light starts pouring from the sky as clouds part.
MC: Oh my god guys, look behind us!
Lilac: Behind? What--!
The sacred tree blooms beautifully in the morning light, and pale petals scatter down gorgeously.
Lilac: T-that's Wehrmalt's symbol, the true form of the sacred tree!
Sui: It's so beautiful. How fantastic...
Flamier: I agree. I didn't know Wehrmalt had something like this.
Gorou: How pretty. I've never seen so flowers bloom like this before.
Everyone's attention is held by the breathtaking view.
Lilac: Hashidoi...
Only MC hears Lilac.
MC: ...um, Lilac...
MC holds out the broken sword.
MC: I'm sorry.

Lilac: MC... No, it's okay. You defended me.
Lilac takes the broken sword and looks at it with a gentle smile.
Lilac: I think your courage combined with my brother to protect me. This sword...my brother has helped me out so much.
Lilac looks to the sacred tree. The wind rustles its branches.
Lilac: ...Hashidoi loved flowers. He'd smell their scents and love them. He taught me so much about flowers.
Lilac holds the broken sword and his brother's memories close to himself.
Lilac: ...his eyesight and health were poor, but...I wanted to show him this view.
Lilac's voice wavers with unspoken feelings. A tear falls onto the sword.
Lilac: ...I'm sure...he would have loved it. And he would have been jealous that I could see such beauty.
Lilac quietly closes his eyes as he holds the unchangeable past close and thinks.
Lilac: ...I'm sorry Hashidoi. Thank you.

Title card: Reminiscence

Midday, MC and Sui call Huckle.
MC: And that's what happened. Sorry to worry you...
Huckle: ...I see. I understand the situation, thank you. You had a rough time on what was supposed to be paid vacation, huh. I'm glad you two made it out alright. Any injuries?
Sui: No, we're okay. Sorry for causing concern...
Huckle: Oh, no need to apologize. You got attacked by Monsters, and you called in earlier. I got worried when Mokdai filled me in, but you did well with so little information. He and Ryekie were worried too, spending all night researching Monsters.
Mokdai and Ryekie are snoring off to the side.
Sui: Oh... we just added more work onto your piles...
Huckle: If it helps save lives, it's all worth it. Everyone was doing their best. And actually we did find something similar to ghost type Monsters in the database.
MC: Similar? What's it like?

Huckle: The ghost types in their first stage are so small you can't see them by eye. When enough of them gather together they form something like fog or mist.
Sui: So the fog itself was a Monster...? Oh, so that's why MC sensed Monsters when the fog showed up.
Huckle: The small ones can't eat much like that, but the amnesia cases that happened this incident is likely from the Monsters eating a portion of people's memories. They grow that way until they become visible.
MC: So they gather together to become bigger. I remember something like that.
Sui: The evolved ones can physically interact with this world, right? We've seen some attack and destroy cities, but I guess mimic types aren't that rare...
MC: So I could hit it with the sword because it evolved? The mimics could be touched too.

Sui: And after we defeated the Reaper Type Monster, all the other ones started disappearing...does that mean the big one was manipulating the others?
Huckle: If nothing else, its core was sharing energy with the other Monsters.
Huckle sighs and thinks.
Huckle: The way these ones tried to pretend to be someone people knew and frighten them makes it look like they were trying to drive people to despair... it's an unnatural behavior. It's only a guess, but I sense some sort of artificial design to them.
Huckle: Well, we can leave it aside for now. You two should go relax since you hadn't really had the chance yet, right? We'll upload the intel and battle video to the Monster database and extend some paid days off for working on vacation.
MC: Oh my god, really? Yay! / I feel bad now...
(AB) Huckle: ...uh, yes?

Huckle: Haha, don't worry about it. You guys haven't really had any down time like you planned yet. I'm not THAT terrible a boss to make you work without having rested. And Maculata told me to tell Sui to accept what people give you. Go have fun, boss's orders.
Loud noises come from behind Huckle!
Akashi: Director! I just heard Sui and MC got into a Monster case at their vacation spot! Are they okay!? Mokdai wouldn't pick up when I called and...o-oh, you two seem fine...
Huckle: Haha, Akashi was really worried.
MC: Thanks for worrying about us / Sorry I couldn't call / So how was the test?
(A) Akashi: ...uh, I mean of course I'd be worried if I heard you guys ran into a Monster! At least call, dammit...
(B) Akashi: R-right...well at least you're okay... I'm tired from running all this way now...
(C) Akashi: T-test!? Uh, I did my best but...wait, we're not talking about that now! Ugh, I'm drained now... I'm glad you seem fine...

Akashi: (slumps shoulders) Well, I figured you'd be okay since Sui was with you.
Sui: Aww, is that what you think of me? Are you being shy?
Akashi: What!? NO! I'm just saying don't make me worry!
Huckle: Haha, well Akashi is right. Careful on your trip.

Sui: We really worried everyone. Not like we could help it since it was an emergency... We should buy lots of souvenir presents as an apology.
MC: Good idea. What should we get?
MC and Sui walk to the flower festival area.
Sui: ...oh right, it's almost time to meet everyone else. We're supposed to meet at the dining area, so we should hurry since it's further away.
MC and Sui walk over when MC notices someone along the way.
MC: ...wasn't that Lilac? Where's he going?
Lilac is heading for the forest.
Sui: ...what's wrong?
MC: I just saw Lilac head for the forest. Could you go on ahead and let everyone else know?
Sui: There doesn't seem to be any more Monsters around, but still that's weird. Okay, I'll tell Gorou and Flamier when I see them. Call me if something happens.

Later
Lilac has gone to the sacred tree and has a bouquet in his hands.
Lilac: ...Hashidoi. You came here that day, didn't you?
Lilac inclines his head as he lays the bouquet at the sacred tree's roots. Small white flowers bloom on a branch with a sweet, gentle scent.
MC: ...here you are, Lilac.
Lilac ...MC? Why are you here? Weren't you going to go sightseeing?
MC: I saw you go into the forest and got worried...
Lilac: Ah, I see. I came to visit the sacred tree again. (looks at the tree)
Lilac: Wehrmalt's flower festival was originally based on this tree. It's a miracle flower that blooms only every 200 years, and on this day you tell people the things you normally can't say. That's the tradition I've heard of since I was a child. I didn't know the tree was real back then. Maybe that was when the Monster started eating it little by little.

A pale flower petal falls on Lilac's shoulder.
Lilac: ...maybe I shouldn't be telling you this since we only just met, but...would you listen to me?
MC nods.
Lilac: Have you ever given anyone flowers? My brother taught me about the simple but clean feelings about picking flowers for someone you care about and remembering someone when looking at flowers.
Lilac looks at the broken sword he has with him.
Lilac: This sword was stuck in the back of the sacred tree...it's so strange. The day before he disappeared, I threw this sword at him. I was young, but I yelled that the sword was worthless if he wouldn't go adventure with me. But the sword was here instead of at home...he tried to keep his promise.
Lilac gives the sword a hug before planting it into the ground.
MC: Lilac...

Lilac: I truly love flowers, and I'm sure my brother felt the same way. I loved them so much that I could handle them for work... but I was wrong. I understand that now that I've found this sword again.
Lilac looks at MC.
Lilac: What I really love is the smile of people who are happy when they see flowers. I want to watch over those smiles close to the flowers, just like the time I gave flowers to my brother. I won't be doing things in my brother's place because he couldn't do them, but because I want to... I won't ever forget my brother. I will go forward with no regrets, and I want to make people smile with these feelings. I've finally realized that doing so will make it feel like my brother is around. I've realized that that dream was born because Hashidoi was here. It's what he gave me.
Lilac holds his hand out to MC.
Lilac: You were an Operator with no hero power, and you saved me with that sword. Thank you very much. I can say it wasn't a mistake to trust that sword to you.
MC: No, thank you. It's because of you we defeated the Monster!
MC and Lilac look towards the tree.
MC: I'm sure those feelings will reach your brother.
Lilac: ...yes. Thank you for listening to me.

A gentle breeze blows, bringing petals down to the open space below. Short trees with white flowers bloom just beyond.
MC: ...those are the same flowers in your bouquet. What're they called?
Lilac: Those are...moria flowers! I can't believe so many are growing out here.
Lilac gently picks some flowers.
Lilac: In the language of flowers, morias mean "thank you for being besides me." My brother gave these to me once.
MC: Your brother was showing how he felt.
Lilac: ...MC.
Lilac looks at the flowers. It has a gentle scent.
Gorou: Heeey, Lilac! MC!
Flamier: Lilac! MC! Are you there?
Lilac: It's... Gorou and Flamier. Why are you here?

Sui: Oh, there you two are. These flowers always look so beautiful.
Flamier: Yes, and they smell so lovely. So calming.
Gorou: We were looking for you two. You should have asked us along if you were gonna watch the flowers! We just dealt with a Monster attack and there's a great view here. May as well drink to it!
Sui: You and your alcohol. But yes, I agree about the scenery.
Gorou: Aww, you do understand! I got nonalcoholic drinks for you too!
Flamier: Lilac, would you like to come with us to the flower festival?
Lilac: Me?
Gorou: Hell yeah! Didn't you say you were going to show me to a good pub?
Sui: I'm interested in some hot dogs and flower berry candy. MC, how about we buy some to share?
Flamier: There's also the fireworks show I'm helping with happening on the last day. Ooh, please come see it with me!
Lilac: Okay okay, I will...! Oh wait, I need to call management before that!
MC: Time's a-wastin'! / The party's just getting started / Fun time!
MC pushes Lilac forward, and the party follows along. A gentle breeze blows across the quiet clearing, scattering the petals lightly...

Flashback, the day Lilac and Hashidoi were supposed to have an adventure in the forest. Lilac is carrying a basket for flowers so he can apologize to Hashidoi as he heads to said forest.
Lilac: I wonder if there's a lot of moria flowers? There weren't by the entrance...
Townie: Oh, Lilac! What's the basket for?
Lilac: Morning! Um, I said something mean to my brother so now I wanna apologize. I'm gonna get moria flowers for him!
Townie: Ooh, I know a good place for them then. (smiles) I grow them inside my home since moria flowers are weird and don't do well in places with bright sunlight.
Lilac: Oh! I was gonna look inside the forest for them.
Townie: There's going to be fog today, so you shouldn't go in. You could trip and fall! I can give you some of my flowers if that's okay. And there's other flowers you can give as an apology.
Lilac: Yay, thank you!
Townie: Tee hee, here you go. I hope you two make up!
Lilac: I'll do my best!
Lilac runs off, not noticing the ribbon on his basket falling off.

Meanwhile...
Hashidoi is holding the toy sword as he goes to the forest.
Hashidoi: Hmm. I don't see him around here in town. Is he already inside the forest?
Lilac's basket ribbon conveniently flutters by Hashidoi.
Hashidoi: (sniff) Oh. I guess he is. (walks off to the forest)
Later
Hashidoi: Anime...sick boy constitution...kicking in... Is there fog coming in? It's dulling my sense of smell...
Hashidoi struggles on, leaning on trees as he walks.
Hashidoi: Lilac! Are you there?
No answer. Bugs and birds chirp and buzz in the distance.
Hashidoi: ...it's creepy even though there's light... I wonder if Lilac could enjoy this? (deep breath) I bet he's further inside.

Later, Hashidoi finds a place with less fog and a giant tree.
Hashidoi: Wow! Is that the town's sacred tree Dad talked about? Also, it's clearer around here for some reason. Weird... oh, Lilac! Are you here?
No answer.
Hashidoi: Did we pass each other by somewhere? Maybe he's back home. Maybe he's mad we couldn't come on an adventure together... nah, he'd understand. Oh!
Hashidoi circles around the tree and starts digging in the shade.
Hashidoi: ...is this good enough to hide. I don't think adults would look in the roots. And now I'm tired...
Hashidoi sticks the sword down and covers it in sticks.
Hashidoi: I wonder if he'll enjoy it when we come here next time. I'll ask the doctor tomorrow if I can go outside if I feel better...oh, I smell morias.

Hashidoi follows the scent of the moria flower to some short trees blooming with the white flowers in the shade of the trees.
Hashidoi: I should pick some for Lilac since I should apologize for breaking my promise to him.
Hashidoi picks a flower, and then someone familiar shows up in front of him.
Hashidoi: ...Lilac? But...it doesn't smell like you. Is the fog here again? Sorry for yesterday, Lilac...
Not Lilac approaches silently.
Hashidoi: ...are you still mad? I picked my favorite flower for you as a present. (looks at flower for some courage) I tried my best to get here, but it's not fun without you. It might be too late to do much, but let's come on an adventure another time! With lunch, together! I'll talk Mom and the doctor and--
Hashidoi has picked a bunch of flowers and gives them to Not Lilac. Not Lilac comes even closer and seems to shapeshift.
Hashidoi: ...sorry Lilac. Will you accept my--ah

Later
Lilac: Yay! I was taught how to make a bouquet! I wonder if Hashidoi will be happy.
It's evening as Lilac runs home with a bouquet in his hands.
Lilac: ...but I have to apologize first. It's late, but I wonder if he's mad... does he hate me?
Lilac slows down as he gets closer to home. He sneaks a peek through the window and sees Hashidoi isn't around.
Lilac: He's not there...it'll be okay. I'll apologize when I see him. I practiced saying sorry...it'll be okay.
Lilac goes inside.
Lilac: ...I-I'm home! Mom, where's Hashidoi?
Lilac's Mom: (smiling) Welcome home, sweetie! Who's Hashidoi? A new friend?

Lilac: ...what? He's my brother!
Lilac's Mom: Aww, you two got so close already? Introduce us next time! Also that's a pretty bouquet you have? Did you make it? I love moria flowers!
Lilac: B-but...I made this...to apologize to Hashidoi... a neighbor showed me how...
Lilac's Mom: ...oh, did you two fight? It'll be okay. You made a nice bouquet, so he'll understand.
She smiles like somethings has clearly changed.
Lilac's Mom: Oops, I made one portion too many. Oh well, dinner time! Lilac, wash your hands before you eat your stew. I hope you two make up.

A bouquet falls softly onto the floor...

Title card: Don't Forget Me

Lilac (narrating): I grew up since then, learned about Monsters, and found out why my brother somehow disappeared. I was the only one left to remember him.
Flashback
Lilac: Welcome. Are you looking for a bouquet?
Lilac (narrating): I started working as a florist. Flowers were nothing special to me until Hashidoi disappeared, just things that were around at the time. I'm sure lots of people here think the same thing of them since there's so many kinds of flowers around, but flowers became special to me.
Lilac: Ah, that flower can't handle heat or overwatering, so be careful with it. The blue one blooms into a lot of small ones and the yellow one in the center looks like a star... A long time ago, my bro--I was given these flowers as a gift, so I love them.
Lilac (narrating): At some point, I realized I like flowers. Especially ones with relaxing scents. I became a hero who fought Monsters, and the scent always helped when I was hurt. The wish I fight for was the hope that people can smile together with plants. I'm sure my brother would have done that.
Lilac (narrating): ...I still felt an empty hole that can't be filled in my chest. Why couldn't I have said "sorry" back then...? I couldn't think of anything else back then. Maybe Hashidoi would still be here if we didn't fight. There's no way of knowing anymore, but...would I be able to say it now?

Present
Lilac: Ow... Gorou! Are you there?
Back to Lilac having fallen off a cliff in the woods. He's okay though because he fell into a pile of leaves. Also alone.
Lilac: Legs and shoulder hurt. But not that much. I can't climb back up that cliff without my hero suit, so I should call a nearby Operator to transform--oh my phone isn't working. Plan B, walking around. Still have to find that little boy, but carefully.
Lilac dusts himself and heads deeper into the misty forest.
Lilac: ...this feels creepy like I'm being watched. The fog is blocking my sense of smell too. I need to regroup with the party...

Lilac eventually finds a slightly open space.
Lilac: Where am I? I see a big tree, but...
The fog is thicker here. There doesn't seem to be any regular trees around, but it's hard to tell. Also the fog is moving like it's alive.
Lilac: I remember hearing about a there being a sacred tree for the city of Wehrmalt when I was younger... Is this it? Nobody talks about it anymore, so I didn't know it was real.
Lilac steps towards the tree and something immediately comes into view.
Lilac: ...bro...ther? Hashidoi? Why are you...
The shadowy figure of a little boy appears and is slowly coming this way!
Totally Hashidoi: ...
Lilac: I-Impossible! Nobody...remembers you... W-what? But you're here now... that... can't be right...?

The shadowy figure comes closer and touches Lilac.
Lilac: ...big...brother... it IS you.
Lilac seems to have regressed to a little kid as he reaches out to the shadow.
Lilac: ...Hashidoi, I've been looking for you forever. I...want to tell you something. Are you...still mad?
Totally Hashidoi: (shakes in place)
The shadow starts leading Lilac towards the giant tree.
Lilac: ...hey, Hashidoi? I...
Lilac loses the words he wanted to say since Back Then. The shadow stares at him for a while before pulling him towards the tree again, its color deepening.
Totally Hashidoi: ...Li...EE...KEK... Lilac, I've found you. Let's go home, Mom's waiting.
The shadow sounds just like Hashidoi did in Lilac's memories.

Lilac: ...okay. Did you come looking for me?
Totally Hashidoi: Yeah. Mom and Dad are worried. I'll lead, so don't let go of my hand.
Lilac: ...w-wait a second... Okay, I can do this. Brother? I--
Lilac kicks something at his feet and looks at it.
Lilac: A wooden sword? ...OW, my head!
Lilac lets go of Totally Hashidoi as he holds his head and picks up the sword. He recognizes it, and memories start flooding back
Hashidoi: This is the scent of a moria flower. Did you pick this because you knew I like it? When a moria flower blooms, it gives off a sweet, gentle scent. I'm half blind, but I'm sure it's beautiful.
Present
Lilac: Hashidoi? Moria flowers... I... I feel like I'm forgetting...
Totally Hashidoi holds his hand out while Lilac is suffering.
Totally Hashidoi: Lilac? Come on, let's go home. Take my hand.

Lilac nods and holds his right hand out, but stops and waves when he grips the wooden sword.
Lilac: ...huh? Something seems weird...
Something seems wrong. Lilac looks to see Hashidoi still there with a pasted smile on.
Lilac: ...no, wait.
Lilac speaks normally again instead of in his younger boy mindset.
Lilac: ...I remember. I'm the one who leads, and I hold my brother's hand with my left. Hashidoi never led... that was just my fantasy as a child.
Lilac would happily tell his brother how they would theoretically have fun running around outside, and Hashidoi would smile and listen as he sat in bed.
Lilac: It was my job to clear weeds and grass out of the way since Hashidoi couldn't see well. That was why he gave me this sword, to clear the way on adventures!
Lilac grabs onto the wooden toy sword harder to pull through his headache. When he looks up, suddenly chain tentacles come flying at him!

Lilac: !!
Lilac swings at the chains with the sword and parries the attack.
Not Hashidoi: ScrEE...?
A dark mosaic is spreading from the top of Hashidoi's head and makes a weird noise. Lilac grips the sword.
Lilac: ...no matter how long I've waited since that day hoping to apologize, Hashidoi never came back. He never will either, so... I have to tell him, or else they won't mean anything. (readies sword) I've carried these words I can never forget and moved forward. I won't apologize. I decided I will live my life carrying this burden.
Phantom Hashidoi vibrates and seems to collapse on himself!
Not Hashidoi: SssOOrrYSoRRRYSorRRyYYhahaha
A cloth seems to appear from within Not Hashidoi as the disguise falls, but it still looks like something terrible is happening to Hashidoi to Lilac.
Lilac: HASHIDOI!

Suddenly a white light bursts, followed by a shockwave!
Lilac: W-what!? ...Gorou!?
Gorou: Hey, Lilac! Grab on, I'm gonna jump! Hup!
Gorou pulls Lilac out before the shockwave hits! He then takes him some distance away where the rest of the party is.
Sui: Lilac, you're okay! We followed the signs you left to get here.
Flamier: Lilac, please pardon that blast wind. Are you okay? The Monster can bewilder people, so I used a bomb to break the effect.
Sui: Yes that was kind of a big blast. You chose to do that for a cheek pinch equivalent...?
Gorou: Well the Monster started dropping its disguise, so it became an emergency and that choice was the right one!
MC: Lilac, are you hurt? / That's not your brother!

Lilac: Everyone, you came for me. I'm sorry, thank you.
Gorou: Hey wait, you ARE hurt. You okay?
Lilac: R-right, this is from when I fell off a cliff. It's nothing much, I'll be fine after a little fixing up.
Gorou: Yeah, you should sit down. I bet they showed you some nasty stuff...we're here, it's okay. MC, could you give him some first aid?
MC: I can do simple disinfection at least. Also I see you broke your phone, so I have a spare. Come here.
MC has Lilac sit down while they pull out a simple med kit.
Flamier: ...that Monster showed up in front of Lilac too.
Gorou: Their method is so messed up! Don't fall for it, that ain't your brother.
Sui: They disguised themselves as Lilac's brother this time to attack... I can't believe they keep doing this!
Flamier: With visibility low, it would be dangerous to stay in place. I'll use another bomb to clear the fog. Everyone, please get down!

Flamier tosses a bunch of bombs into the air, which then explode!
Gorou: WHOA!
Sui: (cough) ...the fog is clear now, at least. Look, that tree!
Big Monster Type Reaper is is wrapped around the sacred tree with a chain tentacle, holding a scythe and eating flowers and the ground! Smaller ghost type Monsters are connected to the bigger one's chains and scythe!
Sui: It looks like it's using the tree as a nest and the other Monsters as familiars!
Gorou: The big one must be the main body, so it's gotta be the boss!
Flamier: MC, we cannot leave the big Monster alone!
The party readies to fight!
MC: Other Monsters are coming over too! I'll start the operation, get ready guys!

Sui: Okay! MC, I'll leave the timing of our supers to you!
Gorou: Okay there's kind of a lot of them, but time to show what I got!
Flamier: They're coming from the left and right too! We should strike first!
The three begin attacking the flunkies and working with MC's strategizing.
Lilac: ...MC, I'm okay now.
Lilac checks over himself as he calls to MC.
MC: You are? ...didn't they show you something horrible?
MC holds their left hand out to help Lilac. Lilac takes it to stand up while hanging onto the wooden sword in his right.
Lilac: MC, will you transform me again?
Lilac looks right at the Monster, then closes his eyes for a second. When he opens them again, they look filled with determination.
MC: Can you fight? / You've made up your mind, huh.

Lilac: ...yes. I see part of that Monster as my brother...as Hashidoi. But it isn't. Hashidoi would never do this, of that I am sure.
Lilac looks at the rest of the party already fighting. He looks like he's faced against the pain of someone he's lost and surpassed the heartbreak to find a powerful belief.
Lilac: ...I believe everyone here carries a difficult past as a hero, not just me. There's still so much I wanted to say. If he had lived, I don't know how happy our life could have been... But I swore in my heart to get past it. Even if I lose my memories, I won't forget that pain...or my brother.
MC: ...okay. Transforming then!
MC nods to Lilac and passes them a spare phone, then activates the transformation.
Lilac: ...that big Monster looks like it grew that big from eating something. If it's related to the disappearances in town, then I cannot let it stand anymore. Not for that, and not for taking my brother's future away.

Lilac looks to MC and holds out his right hand.
Lilac: ...MC, I have a favor to ask. Could you hold onto this sword and my brother's memento during this battle?
MC: Sure.
Lilac: Thank you very much... We will end this, here and now. I will cut out the root of evil and that Monster so that it will never harm people again!
Lilac stands ready against the Monster, then closes his eyes and whispers to his brother's memory.
Lilac: ...Hashidoi, I won't make that mistake anymore. I will protect you this time, so please... watch over me.
BATTLE START

Live A Hero Reminiscence of Ghostwoods Episode 6 (Abridged)

Gorou: LILAC! Where are you!?
Gorou is using his phone flashlight to light his way as he moves through the forest. He sweats, and the fog is sapping his energy.
Gorou: ...didn't he fall around here? It can't have been that far. Have I been running in circles!?
Gorou brushes aside branches as he goes on. A faint shadow appears ahead of him.
Gorou: Is that Lilac? Or MC and the others? ...no wait, too small. Is it the missing kiddo?
The shadow approaches.
Gorou: Hey, you okay!? I'm coming over--
The fog darkens. Gorou closes in faster, then gasps at what he sees.
Gorou: Wha--!? A-are you...my little boy Kame!? B-but...huh? That can't...but...! Kame, is that really you? Do you recognize me!? It's Daddy!

Gorou: It IS you Kame! How could you make me worry so much, you little dummy!? I've missed you so much! But why are you here? ...wait, what? Aren't I forgetting something...?
Gorou staggers around confused. The shadow approaches closer and grabs his hand. It feels warm, and is covered in soft fur.
???: ...
Gorou: ...what's wrong, Kame? You want me to come with you?
Gorou seems to have zoned out as he blankly grabs the hand back, and the two walk further into the forest as if guided.

Title card: Reminiscent Love

Gorou is at a nice and sunny park with lots of flowers.
Gorou: Look, Kame! It's your favorite flowers!
Gorou puts down the boy he was carrying and nudges him forward. The little boy totters and reaches for the flowers.
Kame: Mommy, Daddy, look at all the flowers! (proudly shows a bunch of flowers he picked)
Gorou: Wow, you picked up a lot again! Maybe you'll be a florist one day! But what do you think of carpenters? We look cool too, huh?
Kame: Yeah!
Gorou: Okay, I'll take you on as an apprentice whenever you want! Kidding. Come on!
Gorou's wife lays out a blanket and a picnic basket. This whole outing is Gorou's idea after being busy stuck at work.

Gorou: Kame, lunch time! You don't need to rush.
Kame: I love running Daddy!
Kame runs up and hugs Gorou's arm.
Gorou: Haha, look at how sweaty you are. Drink some water so you don't collapse.
Kame: Daddy your arm is huge! You smell like the sun!
Gorou: T-that's not a bad thing, right?
Kame No, I love it! It's warm and makes me sleepy!
Gorou: Oh okay. Kids have such a way with words. Like me? But sit next to Mommy, it's lunch time!
Kame happily sits down as Gorou's wife opens up the picnic basket, then reaches for some food.
Gorou: OW! My head!

Kame: Daddy? What's wrong?
Gorou: I-I'm okay. I got better after I thought of you. Come on, let's eat then play!
Gorou pulls some tin plate toys out of a bag and hands them to Kame.
Kame: Yay!
Gorou: Daddy can make things if he tries! Don't lose them, okay?
Kame: Daddy, look! This one wants to dance!
Kame makes noises as he plays with the toys.
Kame: Daddy, do that thing you did last time! The one that made sounds!
Gorou: Sure! I thought you'd say that, so I brought it with me!
Gorou pulls out an accordion and starts playing it.
Kame: Yay! Let's dance, Daddy!

It feels like a dream, warm and happy here. Kame sings, and his parents smile and watch. More children around Kame's age soon surround Gorou. It's nice to spend a day off like a family man, he thought.
Gorou: Whew, how was that?
Kame: That was great! He says it was fun too. (waves a toy)
Gorou: I made your new friend myself. Take care of him, okay? And once we go home, be sure to put him away and--
Another headache!
Gorou: ...what? Am I...forgetting something? Work? No wait, it's something else...
Pale memories resurface. A ruined city. A mountain of rubble. And buried beneath it all is--

Kame: Daddy? Are you daydreaming?
Gorou: Kame? You...
Gorou holds his head as he looks at his son. He remembers the very last time he held him. Warmth was leaving his body. His neck was broken beyond natural angles. Red stained Gorou's hands. The scent of iron. Screaming and crying that drowned out explosions and destruction.
???: Go...r...
Stabbing pain. A quiet voice calls out.
Kame: Mommy told me you can't run around with your head in the clouds!
A nauseous, pale Gorou stares at the boy in front of him.
Gorou: Kame...my little boy...is dead. It was my fault... My house wasn't built sturdy enough... It was my fault the house fell on...
Kame: Daddy? I'll kiss the boo-boo away!

Kame holds Gorou's arm and says some magic words. His sweaty fur is bundled up, his heart racing faster than usual. He is clearly alive.
Gorou: ...you really are Kame. My...boy. Why...? You're here alive. There shouldn't be anything wrong with that, but...
Kame: Okay Daddy, you're all better! Let's go to Mommy!
Kame pulls on Gorou to lead him over.
Gorou: Dammit... (stares at the hand pulling on him)
Kame is alive. Why did he think he was dead? He wants to hold onto this hand for always, looking over the boy until he gets older.
Gorou: If I can stay with you...I'd take it all being a lie any day. But...
Gorou grits his teeth as he lets go, even if he'd never get to do so again.
Gorou: ...I know. Kame is gone.

Kame: Daddy? Come on, let's go to Mommy!
Gorou: ...Kame? Did you know Daddy has another job? When I'm not a carpenter, I'm a hero who protects people. Cool, huh?
Gorou hangs his head, his voice tinged with resentment.
Gorou: ...heroes can never give up. They carry their beliefs to keep protecting people. You're here and I don't find that weird, and I don't know how THAT works. Or anything happening here actually but...
Gorou angrily punches a tree. His hand bleeds as the tree shakes, and mosaics cover his vision for a second.
Gorou: ...I don't even care how it works. You can't get me drunk off this. I'll keep carrying my beliefs forward and build a house that'll never break again to protect those I care about. I swore that on Kame's life and my deepest regrets, and I'll never ever forget that.
Kame's expression remains unchanged as he looks back with cold eyes.

Gorou: I decided to live with those feelings, even when I drink myself out cold. You're gonna have to do better than that if you wanna get ME drunk, freak.
Kame: (stares blankly)
Kame's neck goes The Exorcist, with the back of his head facing Gorou now turning dark and popping out a white sheet or whatever.
Gorou: ...I knew it. I wish it weren't true.
Gorou bites back the desire to express concern over his boy who still seems alive in his eyes.
Gorou: ...my little boy is strong, so Daddy can't lose either!
???: ...orou... Gor... sto... Wai... rou
More stabbing pain in the head, and a faint voice beyond. He remembers that voice.
Gorou: ...I can't sing and dance or make toys for you anymore...but you've always been with me in my memories and you always will. No one will ever dirty that up for me!

The illusion is broken! MC and the others run up from behind.
MC: Gorou! Wait!
Sui: MC, he turned back! Just a little more!
Flamier: Gorou! Please be careful, the fog is coming!
Sui and Flamier clear the way forward with MC bringing up the rear. Gorou gives a pained sigh at seeing them.
Gorou: ...oh, it's you guys. Good timing, I got a favor to ask. You mind helping out? My kid turned into a ghoulie. I gotta do something...but I can't do it alone right now.
He smiles, but his eyes brim with rage.
MC: ...Gorou, that shadow isn't a kid!
Gorou: ...I know. I think I always have. But that's what I see. Sorry MC...

Sui: ...that's beyond awful! How terrible can these things be!? They want to mock the pain of separation and being left behind? I'll never stand for it!
Flamier: Sui, Gorou... yes, these Monsters attach themselves to the weakness in people's hearts. I don't know their intentions, but we cannot leave them be!
Monster: Kekekeke
Sui and Flamier stand battle ready. The Monster flies at Gorou.
Gorou: UGH
MC: Gorou! I'm transforming you!
Gorou avoids the attack. The Monster laughs creepily as it turns around after missing.
Gorou: ...damn, that was close. Thanks MC. I don't see Kame in it anymore. Whatever their plan is...all I wanna do now is obliterate them. MC, can you help me?
MC: ...let's go. / Yeah!
Sui and Flamier nod too.
MC: I don't want you making that face.
Gorou stares at his accordion Parallel Weapon. His eyes are filled with burning indignation and sadness. He closes his eyes, and upon opening them again he looks determined.
Gorou: ...thanks. I don't want to make anyone else go through this. Let's get this over with. Losing Kame once is enough! You'll regret playing with the lives of those who died!
BATTLE START (more happens later)

MC: Gorou, let's do this! VP Charge!
Gorou: I got this! Time to end it with a bang! Construction "High End Construct"!
Gorou stretches out the accordion, firing off waves of light. These waves then power up Sui and Flamier.
Flamier: Oh my! My suit is reacting to Gorou's music!
Sui: And my Parallel Weapon. Is this his new power? Also MC the enemy is running away!
Gorou's light waves cause the Monster's movements to slow down, so it tries to avoid the effects by vanishing.
MC: It hates Gorou's music? Corner it! (sends attack commands to Sui and Flamier on the phone)
Flamier: Yes, I will take care of it! I'll provide backup! Sui, together!
Sui: Right!

Sui jumps up and readies her needle swords, and Flamier throws out fireworks bombs at the fog.
Flamier: Bombs away!
Monster: Meeeep!?
The forest lights up and the fog gets dispersed!
Sui: There you are! Needle Sewing! (sword plants the Monster)
Monster: LOVELYYYY (poof)
MC: Battle over! Everyone okay!?
Gorou: ...
Gorou stares at where the Monster disappeared. He seems fine, but his pupils are shaking.
MC: ... / ...Gorou. / (take his hand)
(C) Gorou is surprised, but slowly grabs back.
Gorou: ...oh, did I worry you? ...thanks.
Gorou feels MC's warmth. It truly is here.

Gorou wipes his eyes and shakes his head a few times.
Gorou: ...feels like I'm finally awake. Did the Monster do this? There was nothing to question now that I think about it...so how did I notice?
Flamier: It's not just you. When my grandfather appeared in front of me, it took me time to make a clear judgment. It happened faster because Sui and MC were with me...
Sui: We did figure out that if the fog sticks around you long enough, it turns darker and forms a shadow. That shadow looks like someone important to us...but it's still a Monster underneath it.
Flamier: Yes. And even though they have no business being here, there are times where we can't correctly understand what's going on.
Gorou: Well that's good enough in figuring things out. Right MC?
MC: Yeah. I'll check if things are Monsters.

Gorou: Awesome! Okay, let's get back to finding that kid. Who knows what'll happen in here? Lilac should be around here too somewhere.
Flamier: Yes, we should focus on finding those two. Let us go! ...oh yes, the Monster came after us when we got separated. What if we held hands and moved forward so we don't get separated again?
Sui: Good idea. We don't have Lilac and his knowledge of this place either...
Gorou: Right. And with us all here, we should be able to notice if a Monster tries the disguise trick again.
MC: Wanna hold hands, Sui? / Let's go Gorou. / Flamier, take my hand.
(A) Sui: O-okay. This feels weird all of a sudden. MC, tell me if something happens. Don't get separated from me.
(B) Gorou: ...oh, me? Alright, I'll lead. I'll keep you safe. Hold me if the ghosts scare you.
(C) Flamier: Oh, thank you. I will be relying on you until we safely leave. If you sense a Monster, please let me know so I can step forward.

The party joins hands and goes forward.
Sui: Hello, anybody? Lilac!
Flamier: Lilac! Please answer us!
Nobody answers, but Gorou's ears pick up on something.
Gorou: ...huh? MC, did you hear that?
Everyone stops moving to listen. MC does hear something.
???: ---
MC: This voice...it's Lilac!
It's coming from beyond the fog, indistinct but his.
MC: That way!
The voice sounds like a low scream.

Sui: Quick Needle Sewing!
Sui dodges the Monster's attack and practically sews it to the ground.
MC: It's working! Keep it up!
Sui: It's all floaty and and hard to grab, but I can take care of it if it's cloth!
Gorou: Go Sui!
Gorou plays his accordion Parallel Weapon, summoning light covered tin plates to shoot at the enemy.
Monster: EEEEE (struggles)
Sui: Whoa, it's strong! Flamier, Lilac!
Flamier: We're on it! I will save those who have been attacked! Lilac, you attack when I make an opening!
Lilac: Understood!

Flamier runs over to the man caught by the Monster's chains.
Flamier: Wake up! ...oh he's out cold. I should take him to safety immediately. Lilac, I'm going to destroy the tentacle chain! (pulls a bomb out of her skirt and throws it at the chain's other end) Please get down everyone!
Boom
Flamier: Ahh, how beautiful! MC, please handle him!
Lilac: Thank you Flamier! It's weakened now, so I'll cut the main body with my scissors!
Lilac jumps into the air and at the Monster with his giant scissors in hand.
Lilac: Grand Scissor Slash!
Lilac slashes the Monster's core.
Monster: L-L-LOVELYYYY (melts into nothing)

Gorou: Okay, we should be good now. How's the man who was attacked?
Flamier: He doesn't look hurt, though I think he fainted from surprise at being attacked... (looks at MC taking care of the man)
MC: Well he was in danger. I don't think we can talk to him anytime soon.
MC turns off everyone's suits after putting the man down to rest.
Lilac: I just called HQ. A medic team will be coming soon.
Sui: I'm glad we saved him in time. The patrolling we did didn't end up a waste.
Flamier: Yes, and we have a better idea about what that Monster was. Is the first one you saw like that ghost looking one?
MC: Yes. It's creepy...

Gorou: A ghost? Well that's another weird type out there.
Lilac: Yes, but it is undoubtedly a genuine Monster. We have to believe now that there was about to be casualties.
Sui: That man seemed to think the Monster was his wife and approached the fog.
Flamier: He said "I finally found you," so that must be right. He at least seemed to think so...
Sui: The fog was thick, so I couldn't see if the Monster was mimicking her appearance though. Still, it chose to drop the disguise right? Not like how it went for Mom.
Lilac: Yes, it could have just eaten him without dropping the act. Revealing itself could have let him escape...
Gorou: So...its goal wasn't to eat people?
The party thinks on this in confusion.

Sui: ...what are Monsters anyway? I was eaten once, and what I saw didn't feel real...I'm not sure how to put it. Like they're shaped like living things, but I don't get the sense they're alive.
Flamier: That was my impression as well. Even with warp technology, it's difficult to predict when they'll appear. Only Parallel Weapons work against them, and when they go down they leave no trace. It feels more like they're inorganic beings than living ones.
Lilac: If they aren't living beings, why would they come to eat people? Living things eat other things for sustenance, correct?
Flamier: Researchers and investigators have been looking into that with no luck still.
Gorou: I've heard of Monsters eating spaceships and buildings too. Is that something they do on purpose?
MC: Oh yeah, they ate Mt. Fuji too...

Sui: Yes, but they often do attack people. Just now, I think that one was after people with its disguise trick.
Gorou: I've never seen one like it before, but I bet anyone pulled into the fog will disappear like other Monster attacks.
Lilac: Yes, the commonality between all Monsters is that people completely eaten by them disappear from people's memories.
Flamier: That reminds me. Heroes can remember them, but why do people forget? If Monsters aren't eating to survive, what are they eating?
A short silence passes.

Lilac: ...there are so many questions, but what we can do remains the same. Management is temporarily halting the festival and moving civilians and tourists to safety. We should focus on eliminating the Monsters that have appeared and bring back peace.
Gorou: Yeah, let's stop with the thinking and stop any more damage.
Flamier: Yes, we should solve the problems at hand first... it's late now though, so we should probably rest and get ready for tomorrow.
Sui: Right, it might not be over by today, so we should continue investigating tomorrow.|
MC: Agreed. Good work everyone!
The party splits up for the day. Orange petals fly in the wind behind everyone.

Title card: I'm Proud of You

That night, Flamier dreamed of the past.
???: Flamier, where are you?
A gentle voice of someone she loved.
???: Oh there you are. Everyone's been looking for you.
Flamier is in the corner of her grandfather's garden looking through the hedge walls.
Flamier: Grandfather, how did you know I was here? I didn't tell anyone!
Grandfather: How indeed. The servants are looking for you, Flamier.
Flamier: Oh... I'll be there soon.
Flamier comes out of the bushes and checks her clothes for foliage.
Grandfather: One moment, the pie will be ready soon so you don't need to go so quickly.
Flamier: But you and Father are busy, so I can't take too much of your time...
Grandfather: ...oh I see. You were being considerate of me. You needn't worry, I treasure the time we can have together. We can go back after a chat. What were you looking at?

Flamier: ...can you keep it a secret from Father and everyone else?
Grandfather: Of course. Is it something you can't tell them?
Flamier: Well, I can see a plaza through a hole in the wall. (points) During the day, people perform a dance in that plaza. It's so beautiful!
Grandfather: Oh, the practice area for the student dance club? Do you like dancing?
Flamier: Yes! Oh...no, I'm an Astraidam family daughter and my teacher taught me to remember to behave like one. That's still difficult for me...but dancing is good.
Grandfather: Are you talking about your home instructor? You're studying hard. But there's no need to lie to yourself.
Flamier's grandfather smiles kindly as he leads Flamier by the hand.

Grandfather: The Astraidam family's pride should not restrict you. You can just think of it as an unshakeable belief if you're ever in doubt.
Flamier: I don't quite understand...what do you mean?
Flamier's grandfather takes them to his own room.
Grandfather: When you hold back on yourself, I won't be able to see your smile. So can you promise me something?
Flamier's grandfather picks up a box and gives it to her.
Grandfather: Do what you want to do. That is your right and a chance to show yourself. Whatever you do, enjoy it to the fullest. Even if things become difficult, never give up on enjoying things. Let this present be a marker for this lesson. Go ahead and open it.
Flamier hesitantly opens the box. Inside are dancing shoes of champagne gold.
Flamier: Oh my! Are you sure? Thank you very much!
Grandfather: I'm glad you like it. And it turns out I can see your favorite place from my room. I often see how happy and jealous you get when you watch the dancers. That's how I found you.
Flamier: I love dancing! I'll practice to be just as good as them!
Grandfather: Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing you dance like that... this may be above your head now, but please remember one other thing. I'm sure you'll learn many things as an Astraidam and as a person. Treasure yourself, no matter what sort of person you become...

Sui: Flamier, I'm sorry about how late it is, but are you there?
Flamier: ...o-oh, yes. One moment please.
Later
The rest of the party has gathered outside Flamier's hotel room.
MC: Sorry about the late call. We had a sudden message.
Lilac: I'll explain from here. The flower festival management has been told by a girl that her brother has gone missing. Her name is Celt, and she lives near the festival grounds. Shortly after her report, a boy walking into the forest was confirmed seen.
Sui: ...haven't we heard that name somewh--oh wait, didn't she bump into you today?
MC: Oh, her. The one with the flower berry candy!
Gorou: Apparently thick fog was seen when he went it, so this must be Monster related.
Lilac: Right. At that point in time, Celt still remembered her brother.
Flamier: Meaning he hasn't been eaten yet.
Sui: But that Monster dropped its disguise to attack after it lured someone in. We might not have much time, so we should hurry.
Lilac: Yes, other heroes are investigating but to be honest we're shorthanded.
Flamier: I understand. Let's go.

Later
Lilac: This is the forest entrance. It's easy to get lost even on clear days, so please be careful.
Gorou: And now we have the darkness and the fog to deal with too...
MC: Sui, careful about the mud / Gorou, there's a tree branch there
(A) Sui: Thanks. Footing is so unstable here...
Lilac: If we happen to get lost, you can follow the river out to town.
Sui: Oh, we might need to remember that. Hopefully we won't need to though...
(B) Gorou: It's cool, I'm a carpenter you know? I won't hit my head or any--OW!
Gorou: ...it only happened because I couldn't see it!

The party continues forward.
Sui: ...MC, this forest feels creepy. We should transform now.
Gorou: Yeah I agree.
MC: Alright. Here we go!
Bwoop!
Flamier: I want to suggest splitting up, but splitting our forces would be dangerous. So how about we move in a line?
Lilac: That sounds good. I'll take point and cut any trees in the way.
Gorou: You go with that day job experience!
Lilac: Please stop joking with me. Let's go!
Lilac summons a bunch of floating blades as he moves ahead. The line then goes Gorou, MC, Sui, then Flamier.

Lilac: ...I'm surprised there's so much fog here in the forest.
Gorou: Yeah, we gotta be careful of Monsters jumping out to attack from it.
Lilac: Yes, it's possible the fog itself is a trap. Like maybe only Monsters can sense something in the fog...
Gorou: Then why haven't they shown up yet?
Lilac: Well...maybe random guessing won't help anything.
Gorou: Yeah, true. And--wait.
Gorou comes to a stop.
Lilac: What is it? We should hurry and find the boy.
Gorou: ...yeah, but where's everyone else?

There's fog everywhere but no signs of anyone else around. Something writhes in the forest. Gorou and Lilac's phones blink for a second before their hero suits cancel out.
Lilac: ...I'm sorry. It's my fault we got separated from the others.
Gorou: Nah, it's not...but the fog is dulling my sense of direction. We should be careful, so let's head back.
Lilac: Yes, I've marked the trail we've taken so we should use those to--
Lilac slips on some mud and falls down a slope trying to walk to Gorou.
Lilac: AAAAHH
Gorou: Lilac! Hey, Lilac!
Gorou barely misses catching Lilac's arm.
Gorou: Dammit, it's too slippery to climb down here! I gotta go around!

Elsewhere
MC: ...I'm sorry. It's my fault we got separated from the others.
MC got stuck in some mud and lost sight of Gorou and Lilac in the time to pull themselves out.

Flamier: Yes, let's keep searching for them all. The fog is getting worse, so we need to keep vigilant of the ground and nearby.
The atmosphere is getting creepy.

Sui: Gorou, Lilac! Please answer if you can hear us!
MC: Hey you guys! Anyone there?
Nothing echoes as the party calls.
Flamier: Maybe they're further ahead. We should keep--hm?
Flamier stops. Something writhes in the fog even though there's no wind. The fog darkens and pulses.
MC: ...I sense Monsters. Careful you two.
Flamier: U-understood. But that shadow over there...
What looks like someone tall is faintly walking towards the party. Their appearance gets more distinct as they approach.
Flamier: Grand...father? Why are you here...?
Shadow: ...
Sui: Y-your grandfather? Why would he be here?
MC: It's a Monster disguise! Look out!

Flamier: ...Grandfather...I've wanted to see you. It's been so long...
The fog looks like it's trying to cut Flamier off from the party, and the shadow figure beckons Flamier deeper into the forest. Flamier stumbles along, then turns her head back and smiles.
Flamier: Sui, MC, Grandfather came to help us. We can trust him.
Flamier starts walking into the forest depths again like she's possessed.
MC: ...are her memories fading? / Sui, we have to stop her! / Flamier!
Sui: He's not real! Flamier! (grabs Flamier's arm)
Sui: Flamier, please wait! Your grandfather has no reason to be here! Why do you think that's him?
Flamier: That's true...but he looks and acts just like Grandfather.

Flamier stares blankly at the shadow. Sui squeezes harder and looks right into Flamier's eyes.
Sui: ...Flamier. When I was pulled in by the shadow of my mother, you fought and risked your life to save me. Do you remember that?
Flamier: Yes, I do. I still remember that Monster now...
Sui: I was...eaten by the Monster that pretended to be her.
MC: Sui...
Sui: I was weak then and thought it was fine if I could be with my mother. But I was wrong. That Monster aimed for the weakest part of my heart. They'll stoop to anything to get at us. I...
Sui grabs at her chest.
Sui: I'll never stand for any Monster holding the people we love hostage! Please remember who your grandfather really is, Flamier! Didn't he tell you something!?
Sui looks indignantly at the shadow.

Flamier: What...Grandfather... told me?
Flamier closes her eyes and remembers how he'd always smile gently and speak to her.
"You don't need to lie to yourself."
"Remember it as something unbreakable when you're lost and confused."
"Do what you want. That is your right and a chance to show who you are."
"Enjoy what you do to the fullest. Do not stop enjoying it until the end, even if things are hard."

Flamier: ...Grandfather would gently guide me if I made a mistake. He told me I needn't lie to myself, that I should enjoy what I like to the fullest. And he told me to be someone lovable no matter who I became.
Sui: He sounds lovely. I'd be happy if he supported me in wearing what I'd like and living how I'd want to live too.
Flamier: He is. (squeezes Sui's hand)

Flamier: My grandfather would never instruct me to do something without explanation! I'm okay now, Sui. Thank you for stopping me.
Sui: ...I'm glad I could help. I won't be like I was when my mother's copy called to me.
Flamier: And thank you MC for calling out to me.
Flamier smiles at MC before turning back to the shadow with a serious look.
Flamier: Grandfather always told me to stand with people, not above them. I understood what Sui was saying without blindly accepting it because of those words because that was how Grandfather raised me!
Flamier takes a fighting stance. Her shoes glow, causing the Monster pretending to be her grandfather to make weird noises that sound like bone crunching.
Flamier: ...it seems it tried to manipulate me with the hopes my grandfather was here. But I won't lose!
MC: Here it comes! Get ready you two!
Sui: MC, your orders! I'll destroy it for what it tried to do!
Flamier: ...I'm proud to be my grandfather's granddaughter. In the name of the Astraidam family I, Flamier R. Astraidam, go forth!

One evening ten years ago on Wehrmalt, this one little boy stares at nothing as he sits in bed while a doctor leaves his room.
Boy: Aww...I can't go out today either. I wish I'd be better tomorrow. (Asian Drama heavy cough)
Another boy hears and peeks in.
Lilac: Japanese Tree Lilac Syringa Reticulata Big Bro Hashidoi, are you okay?
Hashidoi: ...oh Lilac, yes I'm okay.
Lilac: I'm glad you're better! Let's go into the forest tomorrow! I brought you this! (gives a white flower on a branch)
Hashidoi: ...a moria flower? You knew I like this one?
Lilac: Yeah I heard you say that before! (tosses himself next to his brother) I like that small blue flower you gave me before, but there was a yellow one in the middle! You like that one, right? The one that always has a scent on it!
Hashidoi pokes at the flower and sniffs it.
Hashidoi: ...thanks Lilac. Moria flowers have a sweet scent when they bloom. I can't see very well, but I'm sure it's beautiful.
Lilac: The prettiest! I found it inside the forest entrance! It was great! I wanna go even further, but we promised to go together! So I'm waiting for you to get better! And I have the sword you gave me! (pulls out a vinebound wooden sword)

Hashidoi: ...sorry Lilac, I don't think I can go tomorrow. The doctor told me to take my medicine and rest for days...
Lilac: B-but you said we'd go on an adventure together... You promised! I worked so hard at school, helping mom, and picking that flower!
Hashidoi: ...I'm sorry. I want to, but I can't keep our promise...
Lilac: But you promised! You said you couldn't go before because you were sick!
Hashidoi: ...I'm sorry. I thought I could go when I got better.
Lilac: Noooo! What is this sword even good for!?
Lilac throws the wooden sword at a table, which it bumps off of and rolls by the bed.
Lilac: Liar! I don't care about you OR the sword anymore! (sticks head under his own blankets ready to cry)
Hashidoi: ...I'm really sorry.
Lilac: ...
Hashidoi keeps apologizing. Lilac never responds.

The next morning in this flashback
Lilac: ...I said some really bad stuff to Hashidoi. Mom says we shouldn't fight, and he apologized...why did I say all that?
Lilac sighs and looks at the other bed. Hashidoi is still asleep, so he quietly gets out of bed.
Lilac: I have to apologize. I hope he forgives me. What do I do...? ...oh, I'll go find a basketful of moria flowers for him! (grabs a basket and leaves the room)
Hashidoi: Lilac, I'm sorry about yesterday. I feel a little bit better today and...Lilac?
Hashidoi feels Lilac's empty bed.
Hashidoi: ...where'd he go? Is he still mad? (picks up the wooden sword)
Hashidoi: Huh? The basket is gone...did he go to the forest alone? I really disappointed him... I should bring him the sword. I hope he's feeling better. I think I can go outside. The doctor will get mad, but oh well, it's just for a little bit.
And so Hashidoi leaves for the forest.

Present
Gorou: Oh my god this hazy thing is actually hitting back! But we have an Observer that can actually see it! MC!
MC: Flamier, up ahead! Lilac, step back! Sui, it's coming from your right!
The party follows the commands to avoid attacks and wait for a chance to strike back.
Sui: It's too foggy! It's hard to fight someone hidden in the fog, but I'm an experienced hero now! Cinderella Needle! (stab)
Flamier: Amazing, Sui! I should keep up too! (sidesteps the Monster and pulls her Parallel Weapon out of her skirt) Bombs away!
Flamier throws a bunch of fireworks at the foggy part of the area, and the explosions blow the fog away.
Flamier: Now everybody!
Gorou: Right, I'll help! Lilac! (plays his accordion Parallel Weapon, using the music to break the creepy mood and cheer the party on)
Lilac: Thank you, this is incredible! Now it feels like I won't miss! Here I go, Formal Ikebana "Niemals Vergessen"!
Lilac's scissor Parallel Weapon spin in the air and quickly cut down and stab the Monster!
Monster: LOVELY...! (poofs into a black shadow)

Lilac: ...phew, looks like it's over for now. The fog disappeared.
Gorou: Nice job, MC! Now that it's gone, everyone should--
Gorou looks, but none of the townspeople have actually snapped out of their trances.
Flamier: Is everyone okay!? Please let us know if you are hurt!
Sui: Please evacuate to the managerial tent since there still may be Monsters around!
Nobody reacts.
Flamier: ...what's wrong with everyone? I don't see any signs of anyone being hurt...
Sui: ...yeah. I guess we can say things are fine then...?
MC: It should be since I don't sense Monsters anymore. I'll revert the suits now to save everyone's energy.

Lilac: Everyone is acting strangely...did the Monster do this?
Gorou: Didn't we just destroy it? And when Monsters are destroyed, the people and memories they ate get returned right away.
Flamier: Yes, maybe it's a little different this time. They weren't directly attacked by the Monster, so maybe something else is causing this.
Sui: But given the timing, I'm sure the Monster must be related somehow.
Flamier: MC, was that fog really a Monster...?
MC: ...definitely. It looked like a sheet ghost.

Flamier: ...I see. Earlier, it looked like someone human shaped to me. The fog seemed to be moving around, but I saw someone inside it. I couldn't tell who, but it looked like a tall man. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before...
Gorou: What, you too? It was the same for me, MC. I thought I saw a little kid for a second...it was shocking, honestly.
Lilac: I saw someone in the fog too...I couldn't tell if they were a child or an adult, though...
MC: Really? I didn't see anything like that though. Something's weird...
Sui: Um...MC, I--
Sightseer: ...excuse me. Did anyone...see my wife go somewhere in the fog?
Sui: Your wife? Sir, the fog's gone, but who's your wife?
Sightseer: She was...in the fog. I always wanted to see her...why...?
MC: There were Monsters in the fog! / But I didn't see anyone in there...

Sightseer: Oh...she came to see me...that must be it...I can finally see you.
Lilac: ...did you come to the festival with your wife? I can call HQ if you two got separated and--
Sightseer: Festival? Oh right...I think I've heard of that... Did we...come together? Maybe we did... (wanders off)
Sui: ...what was that all about? But I guess other people also saw someone inside the fog.
Lilac: Yes, but he talked about the flower festival like he didn't know about it.
Flamier: Indeed. He talked like his memory was hazy...doesn't his state resemble the memory confusion of people rescued from being eaten by Monsters?
MC: Oh god it does! / Uh...?

Gorou: Wait are you saying that guy just got spit out from being eaten by a Monster?
Lilac: Wouldn't that mean we saw someone getting eaten when the Monster appeared? Only MC could clearly see anything in that dark fog...
Everyone turns to MC.
MC: Far as I could see, I don't think he was eaten...
Flamier: At the very least, the fog is the only commonality we understand at the moment. It's odd for it to have appeared all of a sudden on a clear day like this.
Sui: Maybe it's a sign of the Monster approaching. We should probably stay away from the fog since we can't see the Monster anyway.
Gorou: Yeah, and it'd be safer to warn the tourists about this.
Lilac: Indeed. I'll let the other heroes know to start evacuating civilians when the fog appears.
Sui starts talking to MC while Lilac makes a phone call.
Sui: ...hey maybe we should call the office about this too. I know we're on break, but we saw a Monster type we never saw before, so maybe we should consult them. Maybe Ryekie or the director fought something like it before.
MC: Okay I'll call now / You're so dependable!
(B) Sui: ...stop with the clumsy flattery and call, geez.

Mokdai: Hello, Parallel Flight! ...oh, MC! How's the festival?

Lilac: Yes... and there's also something else that bothers me. The flower festival happens every year, yet this has never happened before.
Gorou: So we don't know why these Monsters are showing up only this year? Also, I know MC said they saw a Monster in the fog, but I'm worried about that I saw a little kid and Flamier saw a tall dude. How can we all see such different things?
Sui: Oh, about that. I also saw someone, but... (looks at MC) I thought I saw a woman. It might have been my imagination but...it looked like my mother.

Flamier: Sui...thank you for telling us. I'm sorry to bring up painful memories, but the Monster from that time appeared with your mother's appearance then, didn't it?
Sui: Yes, so maybe some Monsters have mimicry abilities. But back then, everyone saw the same thing. This time it feels kind of different, though we still don't know much.
Sui looks at where the fog appeared.
Sui: ...I'm a hero too now, so I don't want anybody to go through the same emotions I did then. Never.

Lilac: Oh, excuse me. HQ must be calling. I've asked them to inform us if they discover anythi--
Lilac looks surprised at the text message he got.
Lilac: ...everybody, we've been messaged about what seems to be a tourist in a back alley. They're acting dazed and muttering to themselves. There's also fog spotted nearby, so we should hurry!
Flamier: It's much like before, so it's likely Monsters will appear.
Gorou: Right. MC, transform us so we can go.
MC: Okay. Here goes, everyone!
Beep beep!
Flamier: There we go. Thank you MC. We should go.
Gorou: Alright, I'm used to this new form now. Let's kick ass!
Sui: Let's hurry! Lilac, please lead the way.
Lilac: Please follow me!

The party hurries over to that one alleyway.
Sui: There! That's the man from earlier!
Sui points at the man who was looking for his wife while stumbling around. Thick fog is around him. It pulses, concentrating and dispersing until it changes color.
Sightseer: ...ah...I finally found you...it's been so...long...
The man reaches out, and the fog quickly changes shape.
MC: I sense Monsters coming!
The willies!
Ghost Monster: Eheeheeheehee!
Sightseer:  !? M-Monster! Help me!
The Monster wraps a cloth and chain bit around the man's arm and starts dragging him into the fog.
Gorou: Hey wait I can see the Monster now!
Lilac: This scent...I won't let any Monsters get away!
Gorou and Lilac ready their weapons.
Flamier: I can see it too now! MC, your orders!
Sui: Let's go! Careful of the fog!
MC: Right! Wave battle, ride on!

The party is going with Lilac to HQ. Since the wolf flipping out incident was stopped quickly, the meeting is done just as fast.
Lilac: My apologies for bringing you all with me while you're all on break, but I appreciate the help.
Flamier: Oh no we were there when it happened. We're happy to help.
Gorou: Yeah! And I'm in the same agency as you, so no biggie!
MC: Oh right you two ARE part of Laborer's Site
Lilac: Yes, though I work in the Wehrmalt branch so I don't go to HQ much.
Gorou: Laborer's Site HQ is in the Muirauqa star system. If there's not enough people around to help, sometimes we get pulled over from other sites to work together.

Sui: Oh. Does that mean you're from Wehrmalt, Lilac?
Lilac: Yes, born and raised. I'd like to show you around since you're here to sightsee but... (thinks)
Lilac: I noticed an odd smell from that incident earlier. It's strange for someone looking to open a stall to suddenly go berserk and incapable of communication.
Flamier: There must be a reason. If someone is causing it, then that would be dangerous.
Sui: Agreed. It's a good thing there wasn't a lot of people there then. There's tons of people coming for the festival.
Flamier: If we investigate, we might be able to prevent more cases.
Gorou: Not much we can do until that villain wakes up though.

Lilac: Right, I should have the security heroes increase their patrols. That doesn't address the root problem, so I want to look into that as well. Unfortunately I won't be able to guide you around, but please enjoy yourselves. (bows apologetically)
MC: ...hey Sui, how about we sightsee and patrol at the same time?
Sui: I know I'm not one to talk, but wow you tend to work on your time off, huh? Huckle and Master may get mad, but...it is what it is. We should call them about it later. So yes, let's join the patrols. It'll be too late if something already happens, and if nothing happens that'd be best.
Flamier: I agree. May I join you?
MC: That's decided then! Gorou?
Gorou: Oh, you need my help? Sure! Drinking alone isn't as fun anyway.
Lilac: Oh...thank you all. HQ is also managing the festival, so honestly we're short staffed.
Sui: Okay. Let's go ask around about what that wolf was doing earlier.

Flamier: Right, we should ask if anyone has seen anyone suspicious.
Gorou: I bet they get along great. My boy would be about their age too if he were alive...

Gorou: Whoops! Right, we should do what we can. Ohh, is that the hot dog place those kids were talking about? I'll come by tomorrow.
Lilac: Those hot dogs are good. Let's come get some after patrol if nothing's wrong. But first, investigation. I will ask the other stall runners.
Sui: We'll go ask the other tourists then.

Sui: Umm, we're heroes patrolling for the flower festival. Have you seen anything strange or anyone suspicious around? Anything at all.

Lilac: Right, it's important to be persistent when asking around.

That lady from before is walking over looking concerned.

Lady: It might not be much but...I thought I saw something by an alley. Umm, please don't laugh, but...I thought I saw a ghost in the fog...
Sui: A ghost? ...what do you mean?
Lady: I thought I saw someone I recognized...it scared me, but I was also curious and took a peek.
The lady starts to turn back and point to an alley, but she stops midway.
Lady: ...huh? What was I doing here?

MC: ...huh? Is something wrong?
Lady: Oh! You must be busy, excuse me for bothering you.
Gorou: H-hey, missy. What's wrong? What were you saying about a ghost...?
Lady: A ghost? You are such a kidder! I'll come again if something bothers me. Bye! (walks off)
Sui: ...what was that about?
Gorou: Something bugs me about what just happened...
Flamier: She mentioned an alley, but nothing more concrete than that. Any ideas, Lilac?
Lilac: Well nothing that seemed helpful from what she said...huh?
Lilac notices something up with the crowds.
Dude: Man it's been like 10 years since my best friend and I...what was his name again?
Bubbly Girl: Ohh, that thing would make a cute present for...who was I gonna give it to?
Stall Clerk: Hello, your order! ...wait who was this for?
Gorou: W-what the hell? How can so many people be forgetting about people?
A mist starts coming in as Gorou thinks.

Lilac: It was just clear as day, but now fog is coming in. I smell something off...
Flamier: That lady from before mentioned fog too. Maybe it's related?
Lilac: How does it all fit together?
MC senses tingling!
MC: I sense evil...o-oh no, Monsters!?
MC looks around but doesn't see anything Monster-ish around.
Sui: ...MC, what's wrong?
Gorou: We aren't REALLY gonna get Monsters showing up now, are we?
MC: No, we are. I can't see them, but they're here.

Flamier: Observers would know. If MC is sensing Monsters, then this fog must have something to do with things.
Lilac: Yes, we should be alert. We should move the guests to safety first.
Gorou: Right, best to be prepared. MC, transform us.
Lilac: This time I should myself under MC's command too. I'm sending the temporary contract form now.
MC: Got it. Here we go!
MC taps their phone to transform the party and accept Lilac's contract.
Lilac: Okay, hero suit on. I'm in your care, MC.
MC: Leave the commands to me! / Looking forward to working with you. / Your suit is awesome!
(C) Lilac: Haha, thank you very much. I will cut down Monsters with these scissor blades. 

Gorou: Okay, my turn MC.

Click. A blue light wraps around Gorou just like it did for Flamier earlier. Bing!
Gorou: W-wait what!? Is this like with Flamier...!?
Lilac: I've never seen that suit of yours, Gorou! Amazing. How did it happen?
Sui: Did that hero suit come from Crowne's research? It looks like traditional Space Germany Wehrmalt clothes.
Flamier: Oh my, you've also transformed into a new suit Gorou! That reminds me, that pendant...
Gorou: (pulls pendant out of his pocket) Oh right! I had it on me after borrowing it from you... MC, is it okay that I ended up using it like this?
MC: It's fine! Honestly it helps.

Gorou: Well alrighty then. This is my new suit, huh?
Lilac: That looks like an instrument type Parallel Weapon. It suits you.
Gorou: Yeah it looks fancy. This instrument also...hm? (looks over himself)
Gorou: ...have I made this before? It feels like it, but...no way.
MC: It's cute. Looks like an accordian.
Gorou: Yeah, if it's like the instrument I know of then it should make some pretty music. But how do I use this weapon? I'm not supposed to literally beat someone with it, am I...? Well I'll figure it out. I got this! (fixes hat and regrips his Parallel Weapon)
Gorou: Let's go find this Monster you're sensing!
Flamier: Right, they should be hiding close by. We should first send everyone around to somewhere safer...
Flamier turns to look around, but fog is already starting to fill the area. Dark shadows start squirming within.

Flamier: I can see someone inside. I don't see any Monsters yet, but we should evacuate them.
The party approaches, but the people in the fog are...
Traveler: ...u-uhh...what was I doing...?
Dude: Syria...? You're...here...
Bubbly Girl: What? ...I've missed you...
MC: W-what? What's wrong with everyone!?
Everyone is staring slack jawed and slowly walking further into the fog.

Flamier: Everyone is being guided into the fog. Lilac, is something there?
Lilac: That way leads deep into the forest outside town. It hasn't been maintained, so even natives are likely to get lost inside. But why there...?
The fog is slowly approaching the party.
Lilac: The fog has reached this point. We should pull people back before it visibility gets worse.
Suddenly a dark shadow appears ahead and stares at Lilac. The shadow wavers as it slowly gets bigger.
Lilac: W-what? I smell something strange...
More shadows appear in front of the party!
Sui: I thought they were townspeople, but something's off...they aren't people, are they? Feels creepy...but I feel like I've seen that shadow before...
Flamier: I feel the same as Sui...but I know something feels off. MC, could they...!?
MC: Get back, they're Monsters!

Only MC can see the shadows for what they really are, silently floating, approaching Monsters!
Sui: They're Monsters!? O-okay! But how do we fight them...?
MC: You guys can't see them!? T-they're ghosts! Follow my directions and attack!
Gorou: MC, calm down! It's still the middle of the day! Ghosts are supposed to show up at night!
MC: oh right
Lilac: It looks like only Observer MC can perceive the Monsters. This is my first time fighting with you, but never mind that and command me! I'll believe in you and attack.
Flamier: I'll help too. I'll blow the fog away with my blasts!
Sui: The fog is getting thicker!
Gorou: Dammit, it's getting harder to see. But I got a new hero suit and it's time to try it out!
MC: Here they come!

Wolf: Look at all these suckers! Time to make some money!
Some thug is rummaging through his stuff in an alley near the main street. He's got old ass veggies and stale fruit crammed in his bag.
Wolf: A little bit of cooking and bargain bin trash food can go for festival prices! Candy wrap these fruits, and no one will notice... Perfect! And now I got scrap soup and trash candied fruits! I think I'll set a combo for 1200 space coins! I only have to sell a few of those to break even. Bwahaha--oops, I gotta keep that customer service attitude. Then I can use this money and help Bro in the slammer and--
Fog wells up behind the wolf and starts filling the area.
Wolf: Wait what the hell is with the fog? I can't sell sh--
The fog starts approaching the wolf. Like it's alive! It's all very creepy and it feels like someone is in the haze.

Wolf: Was someone listening to me? Ugh, I gotta shut them up if ya know what I mean. (holds up vegetable knife)
The fog squirms. Someone the wolf recognizes is standing to their back to him.
Wolf: B-Bro!? But you're supposed to be in the slammer!
The wolf really wants to see him. The fog squirms some more like it's trying to swallow him up.
Wolf: Bro...w-wait, what!?
More shadows appear behind the wolf in the fog. Now there's his family who died from illness. His best friend he never saw again. That crush he never asked out.
Wolf: Impossible!
The fog changes color, and then...
Wolf: AAAAAHHH

The party is sharing festival food!
Sui: Wow, this edible flower gets sweeter every time I chew. These purple petals are kind of hot. Want to try some, MC?
MC: Sure, thanks. Try some of this one too.
Flamier: The storekeepers told me Wehrmalt's edible flower cuisine is both beautiful AND nutritious. They go great with meats and pasta. Gorou, would you like these snacks?
Gorou: Ooh, thanks! The seasonings are awesome! The fish and meat are great, and I can't stop drinking the booze.
Gentle sunlight shines on the dishes as the party talks over lunch.
Flamier: I've heard a lot of customs about the flower festival. Apparently it started by spreading flower petals to convey your thoughts and feelings.
Sui: Wow.
Flamier: Yes, the locals spread flowers to send all kinds of feelings, like love and friendship too. They associate sending flowers with feelings. Isn't that wonderful?
Sui: There's something similar on Earth, though I guess it being bigger here is because Wehrmalt having more flowers.
Gorou: Yeah! Like on Muirauqa, when you fish up a big whopper you send it to someone special! (drinks more booze)

Gorou: Whew! Having all this great food makes life awesome! I like this weird sauce I've never seen before.
Flamier: Wehrmalt seems to be a popular trading place with other planets, so that probably links to all the novel dishes. It's normally a quiet place, but the festival is important for business too.
Gorou: Oh, so they use their unique veggies and flowers for local specialties to export to other planets and get tourists. The festival's got some old customs that it can use to get other planets' interests.
Flamier: Yes. Lots of media outlets report on this festival actually.
MC: Oh my god, Gorou can have an intellectual conversation?
Gorou: Hell yeah I can! I read a lot and I like studying, you know? I can talk about even bigger brain topics! Hmm...I need more energy for that. Waiter! Bring me another barrel of booze!
Flamier: Tee hee, Gorou does better with some drinks in him.
Gorou: Good booze, good snacks, and good talks is the best thing ever! ...what were we talking about?
MC: Try not to drink too much, okay?

Sui: Oh yeah, I have heard a lot of news outlets talking about the flower festival. That must be why Crowne said it'd be a good chance to test out her research.
Flamier: Research? Crowne's a spaceship engineer, right?
Sui: Uh, for her day job yes. She's doing personal research with Hisaki and my master too.
Flamier: Oh my, she likes researching then? I love fireworks and aim to be the best I can be in teaching chemistry, so I know how it feels to do private research. What kind of research is it?
MC: Oh! Actually could you help us with it?
Flamier: ...hm? What's going on?
One explanation later.
Flamier: Oh of course! I'd be happy to help. I just have to wear that necklace for long enough?
MC: Yep. Thanks!
Gorou: Wow, that looks way prettier than I'd expect some trial product to be. First class design.
Sui: They did their best to make it. I wonder what Flamier's suit will look like? I'm interested as a fashion designer.
Flamier: How exciting! Let's go enjoy the festival in the meantime.
And so the party finished lunch and headed for the stall area.

Gorou: Wow, I've never seen flower-made beer before.
Flamier: They also have herb and honey infused alcohol too.
Gorou: Ooh, lemme see... that looks good... and the bottle's cute too. Maybe it's too cool to send as a present for Isaribi...
Sui: It smells great though. Maybe I'll buy some for Master.
Flamier: They have non-alcoholic drinks too. Want to try some together?
Later again
Sui: ...this flower is beautiful. It'd look great with an all white dress.
Clerk: Yes, it's wonderful. This one only blooms high in the mountains. Oh, but the leaves are poisonous.
Sui: Wait, it's poisonous? I couldn't tell from its appearance...
Gorou: Every rose has its thorns as they say. When I was a greenhorn I got ripped off so bad...
Sui: ...what?
Flamier: Oh, this flower's an ingredient for headache medicine. This is my first time seeing it in person.
Gorou: Poison becoming medicine means it really is out of your league...
Sui: ...is he drunk?

Later
Gorou: Okay maybe I drank too much my head is starting to hurt...
MC: You okay? / Want a veggie smoothie?

(A) Gorou: Yeah, it's just been forever since I cut loose like this. I'll be fine after sitting down a bit.
(B) Gorou: Those veggie juice things? Thanks, but I'll stick with water...

The party sits down for a break.
Flamier: I'm a little tired from walking too. This place is so big I don't think I'll see it all in time.
Sui: They're apparently doing a circus and hero show by the stage too.
Flamier: I hear this year is a milestone year for Something, so it's bigger than usual.
Gorou: What's it a milestone for?
Flamier: I asked, but no one seems to remember...
MC: What? How?

Flamier: Well, I suppose it's less they don't remember and more they don't seem to care. Still seems strange though...oh?
The necklace is starting to glow blue!
MC: Oh! Maybe it's just about ready.
MC opens up their phone.
Phone: Compatible Path with reference point vision detected. Connect?
Sui: Looks like it's good. Flamier, are you okay to transform here?
Flamier: Yes, it's fine. Please do, MC.
MC: Right. Here we go! (click)
A blue light instead of the usual one wraps around Flamier. Once it goes away, Flamier is in a new outfit and Parallel Weapon.

Flamier: Oh my!
Sui: Wow, it looks like the tradition outfit that was on the ticket. It looks good on you.
Gorou: Wow, so that's what your research has turned up? You look like one of the locals now!
Flamier: Oh thank you! This research is fascinating! And this suit...hm? (stares at dress, then at the champagne gold shoes)
MC: ...Ms. Flamier? Is something wrong?
Flamier: Oh, no. I was thinking of how lovely it looks, but... the shoes seemed familiar. Don't worry about me.
Gorou: Well anyways, a tool to get new hero suits is an awesome invention. Can I look at that necklace?
Flamier: Would that be fine, MC?
MC: Sure. You interested, Gorou?
Gorou: Well I'm pretty good with my hands, so I was curious about how it was made. I'll borrow it for a bit. (accepts the necklace and looks at it in the light)

Flamier: So MC, what should I do n--
Fest Worker: Oh! Miss! The folk dance is starting soon!
Flamier: ...um, I...
The festival worker pulls Flamier towards the stage.
Fest Worker: Oh, excuse me I thought you were one of the dancers. Are you a tourist? The dance is open to everyone, so feel free to join in if you like. Your dress looks great! Come join us, the more the merrier!
Flamier: D-dance? ...okay. For one song then. MC, I'll be dancing for a moment. Please watch me.
Flamier and the worker leave.
Sui: Can Flamier dance...?
Gorou: W-wait, is this okay?
MC: If she's okay with it, then it's cool. Makes it easier to film too. How's the Views?

MC starts filming Flamier as she gets on stage. She is disoriented at first but soon tunes in with the music.
Flamier: Oh, how nostalgic. This reminds me of old times. It feels good to dance with nice music...Grandfather.
The dancers dance among the colorful petals. Flamier's new dress flutters in the wind as she joins in.
Gorou: Wow, her dance is amazing...
Sui: Yes, and she really seems to be enjoying it.
Flamier's dancing is attracting a lot of cheers. Once the music stops, Flamier curtseys and gets off the stage.
Flamier: That was fun! My apologies for leaving so suddenly.
Sui: You're great at dancing, Flamier.
Gorou: Yeah, did you hear the cheering? How was it, MC?
MC: Great! The View count data came out fine too.
MC checks the View count data on their phone and the records of the count change after Flamier got on stage.
MC: I THINK there was more than before. I dunno, Hisaki and Crowne can figure it out.
Flamier: I'm glad I could help. Thank you for the new suit. Would you mind cancelling the suit n--
???: WAAAAAHH

Sui: MC, something happened! Let's check it out, quick!
Gorou: There's an alley or something over there! Maybe it's a Monster! Transform us!
MC: R-right! Let's go guy!
Beep beep. Heroes transformed and ready to go!
Flamier: I'm going too. Let's hurry, MC!
The party goes over to find...
Wolf: AAHH! S-STAY BACK!
MC: Wait what
The transformed villain is flailing his weapon around wildly and breaking random stuff near him.
Gorou: Dammit, that's dangerous!
Sui: W-what's going on? Is he fighting with something?
Flamier: I understand your confusion, but we must make him settle down first before he causes any more damage.
Sui: R-right. MC, your orders!
MC: Here he comes! Ride on!
BATTLE START (more happens later) 

Wolf: B-Bro! You can't be here! A ghost! AAAAHHH! (continues flailing weapon around)
Flamier: Is everyone alright? There's too many people and things around to use any big attacks...
Sui: I-I'm okay! (dodges) Whoa! Calm down you! ...it's no good, he's not listening!
Gorou: Dammit, I don't really like hitting non-Monsters, but... oh well. Sui! Can you use your string to stop his weapon arm for even a second!?
Sui: Okay, I'll try! It's hard to aim because he keeps moving, but... there!
Sui binds the wolf's arm in a flash.
Gorou: You're open! Go take a nap! (pistol whips the back of the wolf's head with the backside of his drill Parallel Weapon)
Wolf: Ack! (flop)

Sui: W-whoa, you hit him with the backside of your weapon Gorou?
Flamier: And so smoothly too.
Gorou: Hehe, it's because of your assist, Sui! Anyways, fight's over I guess.
The frothing at the mouth villain's suit cancels out.
Flamier: He seems too confused to converse but... I wonder what happened?
Gorou: We'd have to ask him... he doesn't seem like waking up anytime soon though.
Sui: And it'd be a problem if he flipped out again when he wakes up. What do we do?
MC: Let's take him to the medic tent / Hand him over to other heroes! / Call the police?
Lilac: Is everyone okay!? Is there a criminal!?
A bunch of festival staff run over. A tall man shouts in surprise upon seeing the party.
Lilac: Are you guys the one who...Gorou? Why are you here?
Gorou: Oh, Lilac! Good, that can make things quick!
MC: You know him? / Nice to meet you Lilac! / H-he's hot...
(C) Lilac: O-oh, thank you. I'm not used to being told that but... you smell nice. Oh, I don't mean that in a weird way!
Gorou: Haha! MC, is that what you're into?
Lilac: Please don't tease, Gorou. You're bothering them too.
Gorou: It's fine, or I wouldn't have said as much. Oh yeah, MC. If you transfer over to Laborer's Site, we got tons of buff guys around! Kidding!
Lilac: Would you get off that and introduce us for real...?

Lilac: Hello everyone. My name is Lilac. I'm a hero in Laborer's Site, just like Gorou. I'm normally a florist, so I usually look like this...but I'm pleased to meet you.
Flamier: Oh, you're a hero. I am Flamier.
Sui: I'm Sui. We're heroes too, and this is Operator MC.
MC: Hello!
Lilac: Hello. So what happened here...? (looks at wolf)
Gorou: Oh right, if there's other heroes with you this works out. Take him somewhere quiet. He might need to be restrained just in case he goes crazy.
Lilac: Very well. Can you also explain the situation to me?
The other staff members take the wolf to a medical facility. The party quits out of their hero suits and explain things to Lilac.

Flamier: That man looked like he was swinging his Parallel Weapon at something invisible.
Sui: Gorou stopped him from hitting anyone else nearby by hitting him with his drill's back.
Lilac: ...oh. I think I understand the gist of things. Thank you all. It's dangerous to swing a Parallel Weapon in town no matter what is happening. It's a good thing you responded so quickly and prevented much in the way of damage.
Lilac looks around. There's not much damage to things besides the wolf's own stall and things have been cleaned up.
Lilac: I smell danger...what was that scent earlier? Things are fine here, so I will return to headquarters. But... why would he be yelling about ghosts?
Gorou: Dunno, but it's kinda creepy.
The party looks further past where the wolf was freaking out. Nothing seems to be there.
Lilac: ...I hope I was just imagining things.
The party leaves, not noticing the wriggling further down the alley.
