Things
then tune back in as Andvari is directing a car backing up or something
and apologizing for how early it is. Volos however says it’s fine since
it’s a good opportunity and thanks him as he gets out of the car. He
does however have some reservations about Andvari’s idea and asks if
he’ll really get customers for his vegetable sale in this heat.
Andvari
reassures him that a bunch of customers have asked him to sell the
vegetables that were used in the barbecue. He believes that part of the
popularity that came of it is due to Volos’s veggies. For now though he
suggests waiting and seeing for now and thinking more on it later, then
says he’ll assign two part timers to help.
Volos
thanks him for complimenting his veggies, then says he’ll head to the
construction area once the delivery is done. He starts walking to the
beach house with boxes of his deliveries and thinks to himself that a
presentation of vegetables for sale seems kind of pointless.
Andvari
does think his things are worth something and suggested the idea, so
Volos figures he should try to make something of it. He thinks that
anyone who smells of the earth can’t be a bad person...if you ignore how
Andvari gets when it comes to money. That aside Volos thinks it’ll go
well with how nice the veggies have been raised.
As
Volos starts climbing some steps he trips on some weeds, still holding
onto his box. You however run in to save him and Goemon asks Volos if
he’s okay. Volos thanks you guys for helping, then he notices it’s you
and greets you, asking if you’re taking in sufficient potassium. You
either say you came to help sell the vegetables, remark that he still
has strange forms of greeting people, or say his shirt has a nice
pattern to it.
Going B, he’s aghast and
starts talking about how important potassium is. Having salt is
important for heatstroke prevention, but when you have too much salt you
need potassium to get rid of it. In C he says it’s pumpkin flower
patterned and he impulse bought the shirt when he saw it. But in any
case Goemon is shocked you know him too and says you being well known is
putting things lightly. You can’t possibly know all the customers on
the beach, right...?
Volos notes Goemon and
reintroduces himself to him again. He’s glad you two are helping him
since he’s shy, so you two being there ought to help him get some
business happening. Oniwaka walks by to ask if Volos dropped some
watermelons. One was flying towards him, so he grabbed it. You can
either express happiness at seeing Oniwaka, say it really does look like
everyone around is someone you know, or be glad the watermelon is fine.
Going
A, Oniwaka says he just came to see how you’re doing since he heard you
were working here. Volos thanks him and is glad the watermelon is okay
since it’s the featured product of his sales. He offers to treat one to
the three of you as thanks. It’s one of his best works, so he also wants
to hear what you guys think.
Scene shifts
elsewhere on the beach as Kurogane reports that the tent construction is
finished to Andvari. Andvari thanks him and says it was a good idea
after all to ask the Crafters to do the job given the quality. Kurogane
says it’s because they had maintenance to do on the waterfall and turns
to Hephaestus.
Hephaestus is uncomfortable
with places with large crowds and says he wants to leave once work is
done. Andvari tried to talk him into staying a bit longer by giving him a
ticket. Kurogane agrees and says they changed into their swimsuits
ahead of time because of the heat, so it’d be a waste to go home as is.
Then he wonders if Hephaestus hates the sea.
Hephaestus
says he actually likes it, but personally it’s ‘too nostalgic.’ Andvari
thinks on that for a second before noting that you guys are coming over
as the ones using the tent. He says he’ll leave things to them and
tells the Crafters to have fun.
As you guys
approach Hephaestus hides behind Kurogane without thinking about it.
Volos expresses amazement about the tent, and you agree before noticing
the people behind Andvari. Hephaestus is shocked to see you here, then
says he can’t be here too because he’ll otherwise start crying.
Kurogane
calls after him in surprise before chasing after him. Volos is
disappointed since he also wanted to ask the Crafters for their thoughts
on his watermelon. Goemon comments that Volos seems less like he wants
to thank people and more like he wants people to eat the watermelons.
A
different group of people come by as Kurogane and Hephaestus run off,
starting with Alp calling Cu Sith and the others to come over. Cu Sith
runs over and tells Volos he came to see him, but then wonders if he’s
there too early.
Oniwaka balks at seeing Cu
Sith and claims to have things to do, trying to excuse himself. Cu Sith
notices anyways and says he was looking for him. You can either ask
Oniwaka if he knows Cu Sith, comment that it really does seem like you
know everyone around, or tell Cu Sith which way he ran off.
In
C there’s an extra line with Oniwaka shocked you’d do him dirty like
this. But in any case Oniwaka trips on the sand as Cu Sith jumps at him,
which leads to his getting caught. Cu Sith asks where he went, if he’s
fine, if he’s hurt, and if he’s hungry. Narration notes that Cu Sith is
speaking unusually assertively, yet his tail is wagging really hard for
some reason.
Alp asks Cu Sith if Oniwaka is
his friend, and Oniwaka says they were once. You can either compliment
Cu Sith on his straw hat, say Alp’s swim tubes are interesting, or say
it feels like you’ve heard this before.
In A
Cu Sith says Leib gave it to him because it’d be hot. You question why
he’s still wearing his scarf, so he insists it’s important. In B Alp
says it was sold together with his swimsuit in Ueno’s Ameyoko market
street. He also says a normal swim tube wouldn’t fit him. In C Oniwaka
doesn’t remember if he’s ever said anything about this but is fine if
you forget about anything he said of the past. He does tell you he
thought he’d see Cu Sith again if he walked around Ueno but it didn’t
pan out. When asked why he ran, he says he can’t act cool dressed as he
is now.
Anyways Leib, Jambavan, and Fenrir
come up next as Jambavan says Cu Sith shouldn’t jump at people walking
around. Leib sighs that he shouldn’t cling to people in this weather and
tells him boundaries are important. Fenrir on the other hand compares
Cu Sith the Wailing Guard Dog trapping a friend is to Cheat Him of His
Shares (re: sell) of The Fertile Earth’s Compassion (re: vegetables).
I’ve probably misread the grammar.
You can
either be shocked and ask why Jambavan is carrying so much stuff, point
out that Leib has a lot of his body exposed, or tell Fenrir to say
vegetables like a normal person.
In A
Jambavan says it’s not all his stuff. After a while everyone saddled him
with their stuff too when he went to go buy that colorful drink people
have been talking about. In B Leib says he just wanted a swimsuit that
wouldn’t take much space up to carry back home and tells you to drop the
subject in exasperation. Nothing special happens in C.
Anyways,
Cu Sith finally gets around to greeting you and says he came to play,
adding that he brought everyone with him while he was at it. Volos is
happy to see him and says he was about to serve some watermelon. Goemon
gets excited and says he’ll go borrow a kitchen knife, but Volos says he
doesn’t need one.
Volos places the
watermelon on a plate on a table, then smacks the thing while using
photosynthesis as a countdown word. The watermelon then splits into
eight neat slices. You are shocked by this and can ask if he used
Severance on it. Fenrir is also astonished and asks what sorcery it is
that he used on The Striped Fruit That Fattens in the Blazing Heat.
Volos
explains that he selectively bred a watermelon that will split into
eight clean slices for use in watermelon smashing games. He then starts
sciencebabbling about collecting cell fibers, researching how to make it
split along the carpels, and gourd type vegetables before either cut in
to stop him, comment that he rambles like always when talking about
veggies, or say you want a taste already.
Volos
is embarrassed about rambling again, then gets around to handing out
the slices. Leib is shocked and says Volos has probably moved onto the
next dimension from selective breeding. Fenrir says it tastes great and
asks if anyone has the Dregs of Flowing Tears (re: salt) with them.
Jambavan says it’s juicy and sweet and compares the texture to ice. Leib
is further shocked that the two of them ate it without any hesitation.
Alp
then asks what watermelon smashing is, so Goemon explains it as a game
where you put a blindfold on and try to hit a watermelon, though he says
it’s hard to describe if you haven’t already seen it in action before.
Since there’s already a watermelon made for it though he offers to show
him how it’s done.
Volos brings up that he
was also thinking of having a watermelon smashing competition of sorts
along with the presentation of the watermelon, then asks you and Goemon
to explain it to people.
Scene then shifts a
bit elsewhere on the beach to focus on a family that’s come. Arc talks
about feeling giddy when she comes to the beach. Azathoth is laughing as
usual, and Arc suggests he put his mobile game away for now to play at
the beach as they’re there anyways. In fact she suggests she hold onto
it so it doesn’t get wet.
Harlot sighs
about how bright the sun is and wonders if she would have been better
off not showing off and picked a swimsuit like Arc’s instead. She then
tells Arc and Azathoth that they can play in the water but suggests
resting in the shade for a moment. Arc then suggests going to the beach
house since she heard you were working there. She tells Azathoth to come
along and says he can keep playing on it.
Arc
proceeds to push Azathoth’s throne like it’s some floating wheelchair
as she and Harlot walk to the beach house. Surtr follows along smiling
underneath his helmet. Harlot notices people gathering around a
watermelon and wonders what it is.
Goemon
makes a scene of putting on a blindfold and spins around ten times.
Narration questions if he’s really dizzy or not, but regardless he
spins. Then he calls out asking people to direct him to the watermelon.
You throw out directions one way or another and Goemon stumbles around.
Arc realizes what’s going on and notices you’re there too. Azathoth
looks up upon hearing the word game.
Goemon
finally decides to take a swing, but he doesn’t hit anything. Alp says
he wants to try it too and says he’ll add in some cool lyrics, which
leads to Goemon asking what that is. Cu Sith also wants to play and
drags Oniwaka to join in too, to his surprise. Jambavan suggests the
rest of the Beast Tamers also enter. He and Fenrir go, and Leib
initially waves them ahead before realizing he’s dragged in too.
Arc
comes in and asks to join while checking if Harlot and Surtr are okay
with it. You tell everyone to line up before being concerned that with
all the people wanting in there might not be enough watermelons. Volos
is also a bit alarmed since he didn’t expect so many people and starts
to count the melons, but Azathoth suggests he change the format from
ticketing to having everyone join in at once. Everyone can be
blindfolded and it’ll be a race to see who hits the watermelon first.
Volos
accepts the idea and starts handing out towels to be used as
blindfolds. After a bit of time for the prep to be done, Volos tells
everyone to spin ten times. Arc is already disoriented at one spin, but
Alp says spinning is his strong suit. You tell Arc to be careful and/or
tell Alp blind breakdancing is dangerous. Volos finishes the countdown
and everyone starts trying to get to the melon.
Azathoth
thinks it needs to be even more exciting, so he starts using his
teleportation power to shuffle the spectators around with the
watermelon. Oniwaka says he can’t hear you anymore and calls to you for
directions. Jambavan continues with the directions he was getting from
Volos, and Arc feels something at her feet and swings at it, but she
starts swinging at Harlot and Surtr who tell her to stop.
Cu
Sith is chasing Volos, and Azathoth is cackling to himself about the
things going down. The game area descends to pandemonium with all the
players getting confused and the spectators trying to get out of the
way, which leads to the episode battle.
