Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Epilogue Part 2

We tune in with the PA system at the festival thanking everyone for coming to the festival in Little Tir na Nog in the Tokyo Casino. All programs have ended safely and all booth shops have closed up by this point, and there is currently a direct service line going back up that people are asked to use when leaving.

Scene shifts over to wherever Balor is hanging around as Tezcatlipoca asks what he thought about the showed that was set up For Him. Balor is surprised as he asks if that third rate show was what Tezcatlipoca wants to show him, and Tezcatlipoca comments that he thought Balor would like it. He set the thing up under the idea that there was more to Balor's relationship to his grandchild beyond 'killing each other until one of them is dead.'

Balor asks Tezcatlipoca what he'd think if he told him about that. Tezcatlipoca responds by laughing and says he'd Laugh Madly at that, which amuses Balor as he calls him horrible and likes it so much he wants to kill him with his own hands. But when the time comes when Tezcatlipoca kicks the bucket, Balor says he'll go offer him some flowers in the same way. Nothing is indestructible, but he comments that the other Representatives probably don't know that. The two of them laugh for a bit up until Balor decides it's time he got around to asking about Tezcatlipoca's appearance, and the camera reveals Tezcatlipoca showed up in his doll body.

Camera then jumps over to your end of things as Shirou reminds people to not forget about any of their things since they'll all be leaving once the prep is all done. Kengo complains about feeling restless and wishes that the festival could have lasted another month. Shirou laughs and says Kengo hasn't changed much since before he got into elementary school. Kengo gets embarrassed at that and says Shirou has always been nodding along obediently since back then too.

Hanuman is getting sleepy from playing so much and wonders if he can go sleep at Tsathoggua's place. Moritaka remembers that Hanuman isn't a Shinjuku student, so he asks if it's okay for him to leave with you guys. R-19 brings up a log of a talk he had with Shirou earlier and reads off that the plan is to spend the night at a safe house and go home the next day. Touji is surprised about the daytime detail and asks if he's planning on slacking off.

Agyou is carefully putting the goldfish away and says it'd be a problem if he spilled the thing. Kijimuna laughs and says it was a lot of fun, then says he'll take care of his yukata. An Evil is poking the water balloon it has. Shirou stares at you for a bit before he catches himself doing so and apologizes to you for it. He says he got this feeling that you look a bit more mature. Shirou then talks a bit about how a lot's happened over the festival and how these experiences will help you all become adults, but his train of thought is derailed by a clicking sound.

Kengo complains at Ryouta telling him to stop taking pictures and start helping with packing. And to change out while he's at it. You sigh at Ryouta but say you understand how he feels, or you make a shutter sound with your mouth. A and B has Ryouta apologize saying he was feeling a bit sad at leaving, then says he'll go change. In C, Ryouta freaks out thinking you're taking a picture of him and is embarrassed at the idea until you tell him you were joking. But you do tell him you really will take a picture if he doesn't get to changing. He quickly moves to do so.

Some time later, Xolotl calls over to the party saying the bus is here to pick you guys up. Shirou thanks him and expresses surprise you guys would be lent a bus for your trip home too. Hakumen tells him he doesn't need to mind that as she says she'd never have her beloved lord get caught up in the go home rush. She also gives you guys some gold leaf versions of Tir na Nog's manjuu and asks you to have some on the ride back. Xolotl talks about how you guys have more stuff after the festival is over and how taking the bus means that the goldfish will be okay. He hopes that they'll always be able to swim, which impresses Agyou.

Li Chou runs over looking for you, thanking you for your work and asking about you guys going back to Shinjuku. You either say his name as you greet him or thank him for his work too. Li says things have ended perfectly with the festival. While a bunch of stuff may have happened, it's been a big success. All the Umamichi students are getting ready to leave, so Li decided to come over to talk to you before they go. Speaking of, he starts telling Hanuman to come with him until he notices that he's asleep, so he drops the issue.

Ryouta notices that Li Chou is there, then thanks him for his efforts and asks him to show his goldfish scooping skills again sometime. Li agrees, saying next time will be even more amazing as he'll showcase his three fish scoop technique. Agyou waves bye to Li and says the fish will be bigger the next time he sees him. Li tells him to do his best in raising them as he says he'll see him later. Li then talks to himself about how sad it is to say goodbye at festivals, reminding himself that there's a next time, then claims he isn't crying. You then remember about the happy power and wonder what happened with all that.

Li Chou remembers about that too, then tells you all the happis were collected. In the end, there's a ton of the coats piled up. Tezcatlipoca laughs from somewhere saying he's happy and asking if you were worrying for him. You recognize Tezcatlipoca's voice and turn to congratulate him on his new body, only to stop when you notice that he's in his doll body instead. Kengo is baffled at this and at Tezcatlipoca laughing so loudly while in it.

Tanetomo walks over with some of the other Warmongers in Tezcatlipoca's group, talking about how free-spirited Tezcatlipoca is. He pushed his new body so hard that it needed to be overhauled. Tiger Man however says he expected as much because he wouldn't be shining otherwise. Yasuyori thanks everyone for their kindness over the event and is thankful for the fun times he had with his Yoyogi friends. You say you had fun too and ask them to look after Tezcatlipoca.

Tezcatlipoca tells you that you don't need to worry about his artificial body. Now that he knows what its limits are, the appropriate repairs can be done. He tells you to have great expectations for his mk 2 body the next time you see him, so you should stay healthy until then as he refers to you as his brother, friend, and rival. You either nod and say he should stay healthy too or ask if you can pat him one more time. A and B has Tezcatlipoca ask you to stop making the face you're making since he'd like to go to war with you when you're energetic. In C, Tezcatlipoca agrees and tells you to go ahead as his fanciness and fluff will last forever.

In any case Tezcatlipoca remembers one more thing to tell you about regarding the happy power. Tvastar walks in and says it was a pain to get it all together, but he assures you that what's left can be used without any problems. You either say Tvastar's name or say you aren't comforted at all. Tvastar laughs and asks if you were surprised to see him, then turns to Vritra and says he won't skip out on greeting people. He then asks you to stop looking at him like that.

Ryouta asks Tvastar what he plans to do after this and if he'll go on a trip with Vritra again. Tvastar nods saying he's still in the middle of making memories with Vritra, so Shirou asks him to call in every so often. There are people who think of him, even if they aren't worried about him. Tvastar agrees to the point, so he says that when he decides where he'll go next he'll swing by Kamata first to tell them where he's going. Ryouta waves them goodbye, then laughs as Vritra licks him.

Furufumi runs up to you guys, then says he's glad he made it before you all left. You say his name or thank him for all he's done. Furufumi says you've done good work too, and he has something for you. It takes a moment for him to find it since he's bought so many other books, but he eventually finds that book he wanted to hand over. He's fixed it up a bit, but it is kind of messy since it was a rush job. You recognize the book, and Furufumi says it's that book of magic tricks you wanted. There's also some damage, but it's readable.

Ryouta takes interest in the book and asks if you're going to do a magic trick show too. Mononobe turns up laughing and saying he wants to see you do that the next time a break comes up. You take note of his presence and ask if he's going back now too. Mononobe answers that he is going back since the festival is over now, and he hopes you all did your homework. He'll be going back with the teachers in Ziz's car, and he tells you all to be careful since it's late. Mononobe then addresses Xolotl, introducing himself as your teacher and thanks him for driving you guys. Xolotl says he'll do his best to take care of you guys. Ryouta says Cait Sith is the last one left but he hasn't seen him anywhere, and you notice you have a new message.

Scene shifts to Solomon, who is sad by himself as he talks about how it's time to go while he's sitting in the bus. A voice calls to him, and he looks to see Cait Sith there who says he came to see him first. You come in too and apologize for keeping him waiting, saying he needs to talk to people before it's all over since since he's one of your friends too. Solomon is touched you guys came, then acts haughty for a bit saying he isn't lonely since he's used to being by himself. His facade breaks into tears moments later as he says he'll come back again since he doesn't want to be forgotten. Cait Sith starts crying too as he says he doesn't want you two to leave either. You comment on them hugging each other and crying before telling Solomon about the book you got.

Solomon sniffs for a bit before he looks, then recognizes the book. Cait Sith recognizes it too as he reacts in surprise, and Solomon tells him he thought about learning magic before asking what he'd do if he became better at tricks than he is. Cait Sith asks Solomon if he's going to try learning magic tricks, and you either say he was the impetus that motivated Solomon to try, say he thought about after seeing Cait Sith's tricks, or say he gave him a dream. Cait Sith is surprised quiet for a second, then says he recommends that book and has faith Solomon can pull them off well. He asks Solomon to promise to show him them next time they meet, and Solomon agrees.

Some time later, everyone is on the bus and the PA system in the elevator announces that you guys will reach the surface level entrance soon. The announcer says they'll be waiting for your next return and wishes you safety in returning home before signing off with a ciao, and narration describes how Hakumen's special message echoes inside the elevator. Cait Sith also has a goodbye speech put together that he makes, asking if people enjoyed the dream. He talks about how magic tricks are illusions which cannot change the world, but if they allowed his audience to change something after seeing it, then he'll be happy. He hopes you'll come back again, because as a magician he wants to see everyone smile. He says his goodbyes, and so the festival and vacation come to a close.

Several days later, Ryouta is hanging around on the school roof going over the the pictures he took over the course of the festival. He talks about needing to send them to everyone else, and he looks at a picture of the goldfish scooping game and the shooting gallery. He then thinks about all the memories he made with everyone along the way, then gets depressed for a second as he notes that he's not in any of the pictures. But then again he was the one taking these pictures and all, and you walk in at this point and say you've found him.

Ryouta is shocked to see you and the gang there for a sec, but then laughs about how late you all are and talks about how he was going over the photos he took. Shirou stops him and says they need to talk about something before he goes on. Ryouta is curious but says he'll send over his pictures now, and the gang counts off before you all send him some something. Solomon uses something he calls his special magic (trick I guess), and Ryouta is surprised by a sudden influx of data going to his phone.

Touji explains that you noticed earlier and had everyone in the gang take pictures in secret too. Moritaka asks Ryouta to look at one of his pictures since he thinks it came out well. Shirou says Ryouta was taking pictures of them, so thanks to that everyone was able to take some good shots. Solomon brags to you that he's a certified Rank 3 Photographer, so his came out the best. Ryouta is surprised since he thought he was the only one taking pictures, so you tell him he wasn't the only one who wanted to make memories. Everyone did. Ryouta is touched, and he leaps at the gang yelling that he loves you all. Everyone is surprised by this move, and everyone's laughs start to blend together underneath the sky of Tokyo. The End.

Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Epilogue Part 1

Tvastar starts off with narrating things, and he begins by saying that he remembered why he was so fixated on body modifications when he looked at Cait Sith. He feels pain whenever he saw the weakness in others that his beloved creations/children had before they died. It wasn't like that in the beginning for him though as he says it was painful when his children didn't pick a path because they were weak.

Tvastar talks about how you can see the sun or the moon in the sky if you look up, but he knows those won't last forever. Eventually the kalpa will end as the sun and moon are destroyed, and a world with nothing starts over again in the cycle of destruction and rebirth. You could compare it to the fall of an old dynasty followed by the rise of a new kingdom as the history of it all repeats for eternity. Fairies and devas like Tvastar all sought the eternity of the world through that cycle. But even in the middle of that eternity, time passes on. When something is lost, a price is paid to have something else fill its place. Everyone averts their eyes from this increasing price, and as similar things are brought in, the world continues as though nothing had happened.

Despite that, while some things may Look the Same to the World, Tvastar knew that they were different things. He made Vritra as a replacement for the weak child he had lost, as if to fill the huge gap of loneliness that had opened up. But while someone may think Vritra is a great replacement, Tvastar remembers that they were two different people. That is what people look away from. People are prone to believing that the same sort of happiness can continue for forever, and they are even more prone to that when they know that a utopia with no deaths or partings is an illusion.

But if the sun is always up, you will never know the kindness of the moon. Likewise, if the moon is always up, you will never know the warmth of the sun. If goodbyes are never a thing, then people will never know the happiness of a new meeting. Even if people understand this, they fear partings and come to believe that they will see people again. As such, people cling to the fantasy of endless reincarnation. As far as Tvastar knows, only one person has ever managed to let go of everything.

Tvastar starts holding a narrative conversation with Vritra, asking him/it if he knows who the person who once held the power over the primordial waters. That would be the first naga (re: dragon), Varuna. They were accompanied by the water beast Makara, and they once ruled all of Deva Loka. They gave countless powers away to others one by one, handed over faith, gave up even their passion in the end, and eventually disappeared from the world. Tvastar is thinking of them because of the way he is now, and he thinks about asking them what they felt were thinking about back then.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is just called Epilogue.

Camera then tunes in with the party over at the power spot spring, and the main trio jump into the water. You lead a countdown to jump in with some of the B-listers of the guild. Touji yells trying to stop you all and to explain that the misogi water purification ritual isn't a cold water bath, but splashing interrupts him. Ryouta immediately takes the time to take a picture, so Touji attempts to tell him off for that but coughs. Ryouta then expresses his amazement at seeing so many people here that he does and doesn't recognize, then asks if there were this many people participating in the festival. You note that there is a lot of people you know and consider going around greeting them when you take notice of some people in particular.

Krampus is enjoying the water purification ritual and says he should have forced Yule to come along. Tomte figures that Yule wants to avoid places that remind him of his homeworld, so it's probably impossible to drag him over. Personally, everywhere reminds Tomte of places he's used to see, and he's glad to have come with Krampus. That said, he thinks something is missing, which would be a sauna. He then decides to make a small cabin sauna there, but Krampus is taken aback as he tells him to not be so casual about that and asks if he's trying to make the festival into a sauna event.

To the side, Temujin and Sanat Kumara are hanging together as Temujin starts talking about how people are being lively, though things After the Festival are supposed to be different. When the end of things come, people become quiet and feel what loneliness is. He then talks about how propagation is when life gets exciting and burns bright, and since the idea of leaving the place empty-handed irritates him, he may as well go grab some people to join his ordo. Temujin then commands the people he refers to as the prey he's hunted to gather together, saying he'll give them as many of his arrows and children as they want. A bunch of mobs start fawning over how cool he is and ask him to hold (or perhaps sleep with) them.

Temujin throws his arms around his new groupies, then looks over to Sanat Kumara and snorts. He refers to him as the quiet, unsociable newcomer and suggests he stop sitting under a waterfall and start imitating their guild's style of doing things instead. What kind of Invader goes around and doesn't pillage anything? Temujin actually offers to teach Sanat how to hunt beasts and enjoy his spoils if he doesn't know how as he laughs. Sanat declines the offer saying it's unneeded for his way of life. Sanat then starts looking for Li Chou as he declares waterfall meditation and training is his way of youth and calls Li to join him. Temujin sighs at him and says he could try to mingle some more because he's otherwise acting like a terrible spy. But then something catches his attention. Gullinbursti turns up calling for you and apologizing for being late, except he doesn't see where you are and asks for your location. He does notice Temujin here and accuses him of trying to put his evil hands on you.

Jacob also happens to be around and he notices Tvastar and starts talking to him, commenting on the coincidence of meeting him here. Tvastar is also surprised to see Jacob here, and Jacob says he came over to wash off some of the dirt from his travels. Tvastar laughs and says Jacob never changes, which he likes. He calls Jacob a true vagabond who almost never goes home, which is what makes him different from himself and something that Tvastar admires. Jacob thanks Tvastar and notices that something seems different with him, so he asks about that. Tvastar seems bothered by that as he asks if that how it looks to Jacob. Jacob says he was just thinking about how Tvastar normally offers to replace his eyes every time they meet. Tvastar is quiet for a bit, then decides to excuse himself from the conversation saying he forgot that there was someone else he wanted to talk to. Jacob smiles and sends him off then.

Time passes a bit and Tvastar walks up to you, greeting you and asking if you'll spare him some of your time. You regard him for a moment but ask him to wait for you to tell your friends where you're going first. Tvastar agrees to the idea and assures you that he won't do anything frightening to you. He just has something he wants you to hear him out on.

Elsewhere in the area, Tetsuya is curious as he notices something, so Gyoubu asks him what's up since he's doing something with his knife. Tetsuya answers that he picked up on some sort of a reaction to someone who passed him by, a sort of shivering resonance. Tetsuya then stops himself and claims he was just imagining it. Suzuka comments how unusual it is for him to come all this way and jokes that he must be sick. Tetsuya snorts that he just came to see who was in control of the Minato festival, then says he'll always be hanging around Kabukicho, even if no one else is around.

Time skips a bit to you going over to talk to Tvastar. He starts commenting on how nice the breeze is and the scenery of other worlds. Whenever he goes to somewhere he's never been to before, he keeps thinking about the differences between it and his home world. Then he'll get weirdly nostalgic and start wanting to go back to somewhere. Tvastar then explains that's why he's always traveling; in the end he wants to go back somewhere. Kamata is his second home, and he's always revolving around it like a sun. He then asks if you get it and if you've ever felt that way. You ask if that's how it is and say you don't get it, but you do want to understand.

Tvastar goes aha as he says he does get the feeling that you're looking to the future. He's surprised when you tell him you don't have any memories of your past or of your family. He talks about understanding something and is about to say something else when he backtracks and says he's talking to himself and mentions feeling old. He comments that the recklessness of youth is so nice and bright, then laughs about whether that's something a sun should say. You point out how he's talking like an older man and point out that he's still a student, but you do get how he feels.

Tvastar brings up that he is a Transient, and that he's been around long enough that it'd be surprising to people. He's already brought a bunch of children/creations to life, and he wonders if he'd be one of those handsome student parents. You react in disbelief at that description, but then say you'd like to try that out before remembering that you already are like that.

Tvastar starts talking about how everyone is one of his beloved creations/children born from 'his womb' as he addresses Vritra. He created them, and they inherited bits of him. Even if it's not a blood relationship, important things are passed on. Vritra responds by opening his/its mouth, revealing the hollow interior within. Tvastar then starts talking about how you find someone important and irreplaceable to you, which leads to you becoming afraid of losing them, and people start wanting to return to the past from before they lose those people. He figures you don't have any experiences like that, but he asks if you do understand how that must feel. You think about the gang and the teachers, especially Mononobe as you either nod or stay silent.

Tvastar apologizes saying he didn't intend to scare you, but he admits it must sound weird from someone who's regularly asking people to let him modify them and freaking them out that way. You tell him you don't mind much since you weren't forced into anything, but you do agree that he was freaky for a bit. Tvastar is a little surprised but understanding that you'd say that. He then asks if you'll listen to him a bit more, even if it starts becoming rambling that's hard to get.

Tvastar talks about how as someone's parent, he wishes for all his children to be the way they wished to be. People might ask if that's really okay, but if that really is their own choice, then he thinks it's okay. And if they ever feel lost, Tvastar wants them to have that time to be lost without issue. He'll give whatever he can give, and he wants to tell them that it's still okay for them to be unsure of things. You either look at him questioningly or just say his name.

Tvastar also talks about wanting to be someone that his children can go back to. If you ever feel lost like that yourself and don't have anyone to cry to, then you can go cry into his womb. He's quick to say he's sure you must have tons of friends, but they can't be around you all the time. Tvastar says he thinks he'll always be at Kamata, even if everyone else leaves. It's his second home, so he's decided he'll always return there even if he wanders elsewhere. Go there if anything ever happens. It's partly his apologies for this event, and he says he could let you into the guild too if you want. Tvastar says that's all he wanted to tell you, so he excuses himself and says he'll see you later. You stand there for a moment before noting it's almost time to see Mononobe.

Scene shifts over to the festival area where some of the stalls are already starting on closing up and leaving, and it is the last bit of activity before the festival is truly over. Mononobe is taking a smoke as he waits at the place he said he'd be at, and he waves you over when he sees you. He thanks you for coming, then asks you what's wrong. You either stare at him, grab his hand, or hug him. C has one extra bit with Mononobe being surprised before merging back with B where he he laughs and compares you to a elementary school kid, then mirrors your gesture.

Anyways, Mononobe comments on you getting lonely and making a face, but such things happen. After all, you don't have any memories of your past or anyone from before you came to Shinjuku. He asks if you remember the day you transferred in, and he says he hoped Shinjuku Academy could be your new home. He wanted to always watch over you, but lately his body has been giving him trouble. He thought about how he needed to make time to make some memories with you. Mononobe suggests you guys look around as while it may be closing soon, it's not over just yet. If there's anything you want to eat, he'll treat you to some, so go ahead and tell him. You two then wander off, like you're treasuring the festival mood and regretting the passage of time.

After some time walking around the festival with Mononobe, you two head over to the power spot spring where he notes that the purification event thing everyone was doing is already over. But since you two are here and all, he suggests you guys do it too since he'd like to do the things you've done with everyone else. The water was warmer earlier when tons of people were around, but now that it's just you two it's much colder and lonesome.

Mononobe talks about how the loneliness that comes after a festival really cuts to the heart. He compares it to watching someone leave the school, and getting older means getting more susceptible to that feeling. You ask if that's true since you thought he'd be more used to that and must have seen lots of people go. Mononobe wonders if there were times when he thought about explaining himself more clearly about all the send offs he's seen. But he couldn't help it. Every time he sees you all finding some new possibility to show him, he got a bit happier.

With every send off he sees, he feels a bit sad. He starts remembering the times he spent one on one with all you guys. Mononobe tells you he's glad he's shared that feeling with you today. All that time he spent together with you guys at Shinjuku was time you've met someone who shared your laughs and tears. It's an important time where you become less and less alone, and it'll be a treasured memory that will support your feelings, which goes even for him. If today can be like one of those memories for you, then he'll be happier than anything.

Mononobe laughs a bit and asks about that face you're making, then decides to tell you his secret. That secret...is that he is way, way older than you. That means him saying goodbye to you first is just the natural way of things. You can react by either getting mad, laughing, or crying. Whichever way you go, Mononobe shows a moment of surprise, but then he smiles kindly, as if saying that's the first time he saw you act that way as the episode half ends.

Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 6 Part 3

Cait Sith starts off by narrating about Grimalkin, the current king of cats that he admires. He is the great king who can do anything on his own. He built the kingdom of cats on his own, and he defended the kingdom on his own. He is always strong, majestic, and relying on no one no matter what time it is. His whiskers fluttered, and his face was dignified. He would always be in his castle, paying attention to the people's safety. Day and night, he would always be working while everyone else slept. As such, Cait Sith loved him, believing him to be someone irreplaceable. But he always worried about him the entire time.

Because of that, Cait Sith never considered being his replacement. He never wanted to be that, so what was it that he did want to be? Why did he ever think to learn magic tricks? Why did he want to be king, and what kind of king did he want to be? And on this full moon night, Cait Sith says he's finally found his answer.

Back to the present, the camera pans over all the audience members watching as Grimalkin asks if that's all Cait Sith can do, which won't be enough to protect the country. He declares himself the strongest and invincible, for that is what the people of the kingdom has wished for. He can now work as the greatest king at all times instead of only on moonlit nights, and he taunts Cait Sith about now being his chance to run since he can't hope to land any attacks on him.

Cait Sith is worried that you guys can't even get closer to Grimalkin, and Tezcatlipoca says Cait SIth is being pushed back. It's only natural though, as being a king-to-be means you aren't a king right now. There's also the fact that Grimalkin has the power of Deva Loka's sun and moon behind him, and he asks you what you plan to do under these circumstances. Ryouta turns to you and asks you to weaken Grimalkin's attacks however you can, even if it's for a second. You agree to this since you figure he has a plan, and you stand in front of Grimalkin.

Grimalkin is mildly curious as to what you'll do, and you wonder the same thing before deciding to just lay in with the attacks for now. Solomon calls out to you and Cait Sith as he flies towards you, and you grab hold of him. Cait Sith calls out to you two, and Solomon transforms into another sword. The two swords join together, unleashing two bright lights onto the area. Grimalkin is surprised at this, but he sneers it off as something that won't do anything to him. He has the powers of Tir na Nog and Deva Loka with him making him an eternal king. He declares that as long as he has protection of the full moon of Walpurgis Night and Tvastar, he can't lose. But then he stops partway through to say he recognizes at least one of the lights you're giving off. Tvastar also recognizes something, and you say you see something, say your body is moving on it's own, and/or take a swing.

One of the lights from your sword has the power that is sung of in Tir na Nog, the Gap Cutter that can delicately pierce through the gap of Balor's evil eye hidden in smoke that hardly ever opens. The other light comes from Deva Loka, the Reincarnation Cutter held by the one who was left out of the world's endless cycling eternity. These two lights cut through the gaps between the revolving stars to shine on the contradiction of having the sun and moon in the same place. Grimalkin seems unable to move as he says he can't use his beams and missiles now with the protection of the sun and modifications given to him being lost.

Narration talks about how the protections of the sun and moon do not exist in the same place. The modifications lose their power as a natural result, and Grimalkin looks panicked after losing the powers he gained and only he had. Maybe things would be different if he could calmly use magic, but his attacks have definitely stopped for the moment. Tvastar is surprised by this, and Ryouta cheers as he says it's his turn next. Cait Sith tries to tell Ryouta something about what he's feels about Grimalkin or what he intends to do. Ryouta says he understands as he uses his NP to conjure up a bunch of cat food, a mix of bonito and cat powder. Grimalkin reacts in shock to this, as do you as you observe the huge pile of bonito and cat food being thrown at him.

Cait Sith is amazed, then takes his action next by activating his NP. A bunch of cats appear, causing Tvastar to ask what's happening with that. Li Chou thinks to himself that he's feeling tempted for some reason, and more cats appear meowing. These cats are memories of other cats Cait Sith had met with and talked too who recognize him as the next king of cats, and they all jump towards Grimalkin.

Grimalkin tries to order the cats to stop, asking if they're trying to start a rebellion. He declares himself invincible as the cats have wished him to be, and he still has the moon's protection with him even if he lost the sun's. No attacks will work on him as long as he has the invincible, long-living body he received through soma, but Cait SIth says it's not an attack. Cait Sith orders all the cats to lick and tickle the king as he's covered in fish and cat powder. The cats yell about how great he smells, and Grimalkin reacts in shock.

Grimalkin laughs as he tries to order the cats to stop tickling him. After a while when he starts catching his breath, Grimalkin asks why this is happening since he's supposed to be carrying all the cats' wishes. Cait Sith says he's talked with all the cats on a personal level. They all thought that it was rough on Grimalkin to be working for all their sakes day and night. Just as the king wanted them all to smile, so too they did want him to smile.

Grimalkin stops for a bit as he accepts that that is what people have been individually wishing for. Cait Sith reconfirms that point, saying it's not everyone's group wish, but the personal wishes of those he talked too. Cats always do things on their own, so each cat ended up wishing for one thing or another on the king. Cait Sith talks about how Everyone's Wishes All Mixed Together drove Grimalkin to a corner, but that isn't the result people wanted, or at least he himself.

Cait Sith talks about how Grimalkin told him to leave, that he'd remodel himself to be a king who'd stand alone for always. He asks if Grimalkin said that to protect him, to forever shoulder the burden of the king so Cait SIth wouldn't have to. Cait Sith then says he really respects him. Grimalkin is quiet for a moment, then decides to ask Cait Sith a question. What sort of country does he want to make? What path does he want to walk down? He doesn't immediately answer, and Grimalkin notices something before Cait Sith counts off again.

Cait Sith pulls out a single flower with a smile and presents it to Grimalkin. He explains that it's a magic trick, something different from magic and a craft that's an imitation of it. He talks about being inexperienced in magic, but magic tricks aren't a replacement for it. He wanted to surprise and make people smile, which is why he learned how to do magic tricks. He had totally forgotten his old memories, his path from when he first came to Tokyo. He can't be Grimalkin, but he says Grimalkin also wants those important to him to smile. Cait Sith then says that he wants to make a new land of cats where people never stop smiling, one where everyone helps another like in this trick instead of one person carrying everything.

Grimalkin eventually starts laughing happily. At that point, the happis start glowing with happy power to Cait Sith's confusion. The audience starts cheering and clapping when he turns to look. Cait SIth turns back to talk to Grimalkin and point out how everyone is smiling, but by the time he looks, Grimalkin is gone to his disappointment. He wipes his eyes, then smiles as he turns back to face the audience.

Cait Sith apologizes to anyone hurt by the shadow play that was on just now. But for everyone who's caught a glimpse of this fantasy land and fell asleep, he asks for their understanding and patience. His humble show is here for one purpose, and that's to show a fleeting, humorous midsummer dream. More applause comes in as Cait Sith stands back up, only to bow deeply again. Thus the final day of the festival draws to a close, and things will continue with the purification ceremony. To be continued in the epilogue!

Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 6 Part 2

Grimalkin starts narrating about Tir na Nog. It is a world where various fairies live, where the nations of the giants, earth fairies, and cats are. Grimalkin is the current king of cats, the mighty and powerful ruler who is always protecting the country. He is the one all cats believe in and receives their wishes, the one who has obtained great magic. Every time a powerful enemy appears, he receives all the cats' wishes and gains even stronger magic to repel them. The reason this happens is because this is a world where Wishes Replace Genuine Things. Because of that, Grimalkin transforms as he takes on these wishes. He becomes faster, stronger, more dignified. His burden increases by the day, which then warps his body. He rules as a perfect, irreplaceable king, but he eventually grew old and reached his limits.

A young cat who could be the next king of cats appeared before Grimalkin. He was supposed to be irreplaceable, but there he was. In Tir na Nog, absolutely nothing is irreplaceable. That cat knew nothing of misery or anything, and he simply admired him. Then the day came for the changeling ceremony to begin, the one that would change that young cat to take on the throne, power, and destiny of the king. Grimakin pitied him for the fact that he would one day face the same fate as he did, becoming old and pressing this destiny onto someone else before leaving the world. But that cat ran before the ceremony. Grimalkin smiled for some reason at that. More correctly, he tried to smile at that. Unfortunately, his aged, majestic face had forgotten how to smile.

Back to the present, you guys manage to get back to the watchtower area as Ryouta notes, and it seems like the show is starting soon. But then he reacts in shock at how many people there are. Li Chou says this is the visual representation of a full house, and he mentions seeing faces he recognizes here and there. The gang happens to be around too, and Shirou notices that you guys are here. Kengo asks if you guys being over here means Cait Sith is going to run the magic show on his own. You take the moment to process their presence, say some stuff happened, then ask if the show has started yet.

Moritaka says the show only just started, which Touji nods along to. Cait Sith is on stage performing some tricks, and Kengo comments that it's kind of plain since he was expecting something different. You agree and note the other audience members don't seem that impressed either and/or stay quiet. Shirou agrees too, but he says it's not surprising people feel that way. A lot of people in the audience are Transients and App users, so they're more used to seeing flashier powers and strange things happening. Kengo gripes that that should be irrelevant, then says Cait Sith should do something more attention grabbing. Li Chou asks if that was something Cait Sith ever wanted to do. You turn to him in some surprise and try to ask him to explain.

Li Chou says that Cait Sith isn't wrong for holding onto his pride, and on stage Cait Sith announces it's time for his biggest magic trick that people have been waiting for. He counts off, but nothing happens on his signal. He's confused by this as he says fireworks were supposed to shoot when he did that. Ryouta notes that Cait Sith stopped moving and wonders if he failed with his trick.

Agyou yelps and laughs as he says something fluffy just touched him, and he thinks Hanuman is responsible. Kijimuna also experiences the same thing and asks Hanuman to stop. Hanuman however says someone is touching his tail with something fluffy, and he asks who's doing that when some cat meows to his confusion. Suddenly a bunch of cats appear out of nowhere, and some girl in the audience reacts in surprise at this as she says they're at all the seats. These cats turn out to be able to talk as they ask where they are and if some festival is going on. A yasha is surprised and amazed that they can speak, and she interprets this to be some sort of magic trick.

Some other cat takes an interest in Benten's biwa and asks if she'll talk with him. Benten is pleased they like her instrument, and she compliments his instrument back. Cat C is surprised at all the people and noncats that are around, and Cat D says it looks like some sort of festival, but one that seems kind of different. Yasuyori says he doesn't get what's going on, but he says the cats are cute. Tanetomo looks like he's ready to stab someone for a second before telling Yasuyori he can't go saying anything besides him is cute and laughs. You react in surprise at all the cats and the fact that they can talk, then start guessing what's up with them.

Cait Sith is baffled by this turn of events and says these cats come from his home world. Tezcatlipoca laughs and says that the night air is getting noisy, then mentions knowing something since he's a king of the night. He warns you to be on your guard since something is coming on this full moon night. Shadow Cait Sith appears, saying nothing. You notice and initially think it's Cait Sith before you notice something is different. Ashigara is around and reacts in shock, thinking Cait Sith duplicated himself. Gunzou is amazed and thinks this is another magic trick, and Durga tells the two to hush since it seems like the Shadow is talking and she can't hear.

Cait Sith talks to his Shadow and notes the visual similarity but recognizes the pressure it's given off. The Shadow greets Cait Sith and refers to him as his successor, and Cait Sith recognizes the voice in shock. The Shadow asks if he forgot what he sounded like as he says he's Grimalkin, the current king of cats and the witch's cat that can use grand magic. Cait Sith reacts in shock, and in the audience Ziz seems mildly concerned that something is happening to the magic show. The cat next to her recognizes Grimalkin and asks if that's Cait Sith next to him. Ziz wonders if he knows him.

Cait Sith struggles to accept Grimalkin's presence, saying that it is his voice he's hearing but his appearance is different. You yell about Grimalkin looking like Cait Sith and ask about what's happening. Grimalkin tells Cait Sith that he's appeared as the ideal king Cait Sith is trying to be because he's Carrying His Strong Desire. His insides are different though because some kind passerby Modded him. You pick up on the talk about modding and realize who he's talking about, and Cait Sith is surprised too before he decides to focus more on his even being here. Grimalkin asks if he doesn't know, then explains that when a black cat that can be a witch's familiar, faith for fairies, a full moon night, and the scent of death are gathered in one place, the Walpurgis Night of witches and black cats will arrive.

Cait Sith reacts in shock about the bit about Walpurgis Night, so Grimalkin says it's when the bounds of the fairy world become loose and is the sabbath of magic that replaces the current world with a changeling. Cait Sith asks him what specifically gets changed in this case, so Grimalkin says it's the continuation of the coronation ceremony, meaning his throne will switch with Cait Sith. Cait Sith gasps in shock, prompting Grimalkin to ask what's so surprising if Cait Sith wanted to be him. Grimalkin has borne too many of the expectations of the cats of fairyland, gotten too old, too warped. The fantasies they all hold, like 'Grimalkin is a perfect king,' 'Grimalkin can use any magic,' 'Grimalkin is the best king ever,' have all pushed him past his limit, so now a replacement is necessary.

Cait Sith tries to argue that he's too inexperienced to take the throne. Grimalkin is quiet for a moment before relenting, saying he has something else he's better suited for. Grimalkin then yells for people to behold his magic as he calls down thunder. He asks if the noncats present can hear him as he declares this the land of cats that he rules now, and so long as he is here no one can threaten catkind. Kyuuma is surprised as he wonders what's up with Grimalkin, saying he can feel him exerting some powerful pressure. Hougen orders Tajikarao to be ready to move whenever, and if something happens he should prioritize evacuating the attendees. Tajikarao acknowledges the order, then asks about Grimalkin.

Random cat is concerned and says everyone should run. Shennong asks the cat why and briefly picks up adding meows to his sentences before he repeats himself without them. The cat says her whiskers are standing on end, which means it's an omen of an attack even if Grimalkin looks different. Grimalkin addresses all noncats, saying the area is becoming Tir na Nog, and so long as he is present, this is the land of cats. He demands that everyone leave and is getting to what he'll do if no one does so when Cait Sith yells for people to run. The party reacts in alarm when Grimalkin says he'll use his grand magic on everyone, and the first thing he calls is his Grimalkin Punch.

The audience members are baffled at Grimalkin swatting at them with a giant cat punch. Grimalkin's next action is to fire Grimalkin BEAMUs from his eyes, which seems to burn some people it hits. You are taken aback by this display and think his naming sense is awful, but there is legitimate power behind the attacks. Cait Sith is confused, then says it's different from the magic he saw him do before. He agrees that it is powerful, but it wasn't like this. He pleads with Grimalkin asking why he's doing this and what happened to him. Tvastar shows up laughing about how his modifications are a success, so you either react in shock, say you've figured out what happened, and/or call him a mad scientist.

Cait Sith asks Tvastar if he modified Grimalkin and specifically what he modded him with. Tvastar cops to modding Grimalkin but doesn't give any details on what just yet. He comments that it was a rush job, but it made for a nice sweat. Then he starts talking about how he threw in the mysteries of soma which brings eternal youth and extended life. As a creator of life, Tvastar also modded him with solar power, hands that can gigantify for a punch and eye beams. Grimalkin thanks Tvastar or whatshisname, saying he's now a perfect king for real. Tvastar is happy to hear that and turns to Vritra as he talks about how the mods have had a good effect.

Grimalkin says that's all well and good, but since Tvastar isn't a cat he needs to piss off too as he blasts him with a Grimalkin Typhoon. Cait Sith yells after Tvastar as he gets blown back a bit, and when he gets back up he complains to you guys that this is horrible treatment after modding someone. No one sympathizes, and Tvastar tries to excuse himself saying he can't say no if someone asks him to modify them. He then admits that this is his fault and apologizes.

Meanwhile Grimalkin is firing off missiles at random all over the place, telling everyone to tremble before him as the land of cats will be immortal so long as he is king. As king, he will never allow anyone to invade his country! His roar echoes out, and everyone starts becoming terrified. Cait Sith tries to ask Grimalkin why he's doing all this, and Grimalkin is surprised at the question as he says it's the duty of the king to protect the country. The area is the land of cats now as he said earlier, so it's natural for him to drive out the interlopers.

Cait Sith tries to suggest a more peaceable solution, but Grimalkin says that's only tenable in a situation where you won't be destroyed. A country/world is mutually exclusive with its neighboring countries/worlds, and borders are drawn so that they won't mingle together. On the other hand, if all the wishes in the country become the same, that becomes the decision of the majority. Grimalkin isn't doing this out of his personal judgments, and this isn't the wish of any one individual. But contradictions arise between seriousness and triviality, strength and kindness, which he carries as he stands atop the hierarchy as they all get sorted around. With all the wishes mixing together, the king can only become a warped monster in the end. That is the system of the world/land and the king that represents it. And now with his perfected body, he can finally carry that burden on his own. Grimalkin then demands that Cait Sith leave, now that a successor is no longer needed.

Cait Sith cringes, asking if this was what he wanted and saying that being a perfect king is awful. But then, he takes it back and says he had driven Grimalkin to this point. The wishes of many cats are visible, floating behind Grimalkin. They wished for a single strong king and admired him. That is what a multitude of cats ended up searching for. All the individual weak wishes came together, converging and becoming one with Grimalkin. Cait Sith starts talking to himself about what he wished for. He then notices happy power accumulating, saying it's beautiful and the power that brings people smiles. He wonders if he as the one to bring it about.

Cait Sith is quiet for a second, then counts out as he calls his magic magic. He pops up over where you guys are and asks you guys for help. You react in surprise to him or ask him what's going on. Cait Sith explains that that is his wish, the perfect king he wanted to be. Someone who didn't need to rely on others or need anyone else. The missiles and beams weren't part of his vision though. Tvastar quietly looks away. Furufumi asks about Grimalkin being his ideal king, aside from the missiles and all.

Cait Sith says he can't deny that, saying he is the king of cats who protected the country with great magic. He defended against foreign invasion and brought prosperity. Those was the parts of Grimalkin he wanted to be like. But now, Cait Sith says from his heart that that is not what he wants to be now. He didn't learn magic tricks to strike fear into other races and even cats. The magic he knows brings excitement, joy, and smiles to everyone. Ryouta is moved by this, and Furufumi observes that what Cait Sith wants is different from what's manifested over there. Cait Sith says he finally understands what it is he wanted now, which Furufumi thinks on. Ryouta cheers Cait Sith on and says you guys should go together as everyone wants to help.

Ryouta says he feels Cait Sith shouldn't give up on his dreams about what kind of king he wants to be and how he wants his country to be. He then says that they should all sort out this incident with the real magic Cait Sith was aiming for. Cait Sith thanks him, moved that he'd say so. Li Chou agrees to pitch in and says he'll see Cait Sith's fighting spirit up close. Furufumi talks about how it'd be wrong to do nothing but spout arguments he's read from a book, then says he'll go forward on his own path. If someone can understand things through reading, then he says he should be able to do something about this situation. Tvastar says nothing, so you ask what he'll do and if he'll help out.

Ryouta pesters Tvastar about whether he'll come too. Tvastar asks if you two are telling him to take responsibility, and Ryouta says that's part of it. He then asks if Tvastar is interested in seeing what it is Cait Sith is so set on doing that he kept refusing his offers for modification. Tvastar admits he is, so he agrees to help. Tezcatlipoca asks you and Ryouta if you guys believe that Cait Sith has a chance at winning. Cait Sith doesn't say anything, so Tezcatlipoca says Cait Sith seems to understand. However small it is, Grimalkin is the one who stands atop the order of things his country/world. Grimalkin is also someone who approaches omnipotence, so there is no way Cait Sith, who ranks lower than him, can hope to oppose him.

Cait Sith starts laughing, so Tezcatlipoca asks him why. Cait Sith says he should know since he's familiar with the subject. He had always wondered why it is Tezcatlipoca is always laughing so loudly, which interests Tezcatlipoca. Cait Sith says he laughs because he wants other people to laugh, Just Like a Mirror as he's finally understood. Tezcatlipoca is surprised by that, and Cait Sith talks about how his wish may be different from everyone else's. Everyone may believe that he can't win, but Cait Sith feels victory lies elsewhere, so he has a chance of winning. Tezcatlipoca eventually says he understands.

Ryouta invites Tezcatlipoca to join you guys, saying Cait Sith will make some happy power for sure. Tezcatlipoca laughs and asks what Ryouta is basing that on. Ryouta answers that it's about the numbers, and that having more people is better. Tezcatlipoca asks if he's talking about overpowering a minority with a majority, which is one of the basics of war, but Ryouta clarifies that everyone is their own person. You shouldn't lump all your friends under one group. Even if some things mix together, Ryouta says he'll feel all the emotions his friends have individually given him. You can't just think about things after coming together, you also should think about the individual things before then. Once you know all that, even if they mix together to become the same thing it'll come out with a different meaning.

Tezcatlipoca is quietly surprised at this, then starts laughing. He agrees to help you and Cait Sith, but he still wants to make point before you guys go. You guys know what your victory conditions are, which means you've stepped into a war for real. The battle you're jumping into is in the middle of an endless hell, and someone will probably come looking for help and lend you their assistance. Your war strength with continue to grow with each addition, and that great power may call forth the horrors of war with no regards to your intent. War becomes more intense with time, and the next one is likely to become even worse than the current one. People will learn more and more unseemly actions and gather ever stronger weapons. But that is where distortions will arise, which will be weak points. If you are against an opponent who only knows how to hoard and collect things, then someone who has known loss is sure to have a chance of winning.

Ryouta has no idea what Tezcatlipoca was talking about, but he nods along. Cait Sith talks to you and asks if Solomon is with you. You check and tell him he's around and will definitely come. Cait Sith agrees and assures himself it'd be a huge waste if Solomon didn't see his big magic. Cait Sith then changes into his happi, saying he should be dressed like that when dealing with incidents at the festival. He then declares it's time for the party to begin the operation. He says the first priority is to evacuate the audience and plans to use his magic to move them to safety, but Tvastar suggests that's not necessary as this is all a magic show.

Elsewhere to the side, Tajikarao reports that the evacuation prep is done now and suggests getting started, but Hougen notices something is happening and tells him to wait. Grimalkin also notices something happening as Tvastar steps forward, talking to Vritra about getting started since he feels responsible a bit. He then calls out a form change, which he says in other words would be the casting of his NP. Vritra flies into the sky, then stretches his body out long enough to encircle Grimalkin and the party. This makes him a living wall that keeps anyone else from getting closer.

Grimalkin is surprised at being sealed in like so, then says what Tvastar did was clever. Tvastar announces that the stage is set, so now the show can restart. Li Chou turns to Cait Sith, saying they have their chance now and that he'll use his artifact to stop the audience from freaking out. Cait Sith is surprised he can do that, and Li tells him that since he said you're all doing magic together he'll believe in it. Li then jumps up and casts his own NP, declaring that what's happening now is their magic show to the audience. A bunch of cats start meowing and apologizing for the confusion, then says it'll be okay as they ask the audience to enjoy Cait Sith's show. A mermaid asks if this is all part of the show, and a mage girl says it was a surprise as she sits down and accepts the explanation. The jocks all nod along. Li brags about how he pulled that off, and you can either cheer and say he did a good job, or you can say you'll pet him later. In C, Li gets embarrassed as he says you should save that for when you're in the tall grass under the moon before composing himself.

Anyways Li Chou explains that all he did was suppress the panic, so now it all comes down to the results as he tells Cait Sith to show his will. Cait Sith nods, and Tezcatlipoca says he'll proceed to the festival's finale too. Back on stage, Grimalkin laughs that nothing has changed as he fires off his eye beams. Tezcatlipoca calls to you and says he'll go in front and show you the full power of his new body. He says target practice is the same thing, then uses his NP to bounce the laser away after it weakens through his smoke.

Grimalkin laughs it off as an impudent move, then tries firing his missiles next. Furufumi asks his artifact for the best path forward as he casts his NP. He then relays its instructions to you all, saying to jump to your 3 to avoid the missiles, then squat two seconds after to dodge the next volley. His directions allow you guys to avoid all the missiles. Ryouta cheers for Furufumi, then says you've almost reached Grimalkin. He notices you looking around, then asks you what's wrong. You talk about how everyone is doing their best, so you call out to Solomon to summon him to you.

Mononobe is in the audience watching, and Solomon appears, announcing his presence to you and Cait Sith. The entire party faces Grimalkin, and Cait Sith steps forward. He doesn't say anything at first, so Grimalkin goes first and laughs about him coming to him. He then says he'll show him the weight a king has to carry, but Cait Sith says that what he wants to see is something else. He tells Grimalkin to see his last great magic, calling out his NP as the episode battle begins.

Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 6 Part 1

Narration begins by bringing up a quote: "that's the work of fairies." Say one day your garden gets cleaned up. Your overly friendly neighbor didn't do it, 'it was the fairies.' Say someone dies during a mysterious plague and a dog howls. People will say he died because a fairy dog howled. Say a young genius poet suddenly dies. People will say 'he was taken to the fairy realm.' Your baby didn't grow up the way you wanted them to? They're a fairy changeling, not a human! Your real child must be living happily in fairy land.

People pushed various different things onto fairies. Miracles, mysteries, absurdities, and desires. Birth defects, the unfairness of the world, anything and everything. The world then takes that belief and changes to make it work. The world also reacts to this change by Replacing Things using changelings. Because of that, it's not that a strange thing has occurred because a fairy brought a changeling. Strange things are made the fault of changelings to begin with. However, that faith has turned the fairy's power into the real thing. Fairies that replace things and end up granting wishes were born. Such a world is born from contradictions, and that is the world of Tir na Nog where countless fairy races live.

Despite all that, the fairies who hold such power do not understand what will come about of that in the end. Should a wish that Will Not Be Granted in the Human World be made in Tir na Nog, which ends up changing in an attempt to make it happen, who will be the one to make a wish that Will Not Be Granted in the Fairy World? The only ones who know are the kings who bear the responsibility of prolonging the fairy world for eternity.

One such king would be the old king of the giants living in the land of fairies, Balor. Another would be the old king of the fairy cats, Grimalkin. They are the kings burdened with living and carrying the wishes that won't come true brought about by the fairies' changelings. Tir na Nog cannot exist without these kings being responsible for the ungranted wishes, and in carrying the wishes of all fairykind their daily lives twist into innocent sins. As a result of that, all the kings drive out their inheritors to the throne from the world By Their Own Choice. Cait Sith, the one made to be the next king of cats, was one of those people.

Cait Sith takes over narration and talks about how he feels like he's always been watching Grimalkin from behind. Grimalkin did what a king was supposed to do. He held the country. He served the people. He chanted many kinds of magic and carried great power in his hands. In a world where many different races lived in, he stood in front of the people and protected them. That is the kind of king Cait Sith knew well and was to become like. It is also an ideal he could never reach. Solitary perfection, all knowing and all powerful.

Cait Sith wonders how long it's been since the day he ran away from the succession ceremony. He did his best to try be more like him even a little bit, learning magic tricks to make up for his ineptitude in learning magic. But as he tried, he started to think that he wasn't suited to become king. Someone told him that he could just have someone else make up for his shortcomings, but Cait Sith ended up believing that something lacking something is imperfect, and something imperfect cannot be king.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called End of the Festival! The Fortune Inviting Illusion!?

The story then picks back up with Kengo commenting that it's the last day of the festival and it is crowded as all get out. Seems like it's peak attendance with the number of people around. Shirou says there aren't many events left, so people are coming to enjoy themselves. Moritaka adds that the last thing going on for the festival before it wraps up is Cait Sith's magic show. The happy power you guys are trying to collect will be depending on this show as the biggest opportunity to gather it, but Touji says they'll have to believe in you and Ryouta. You guys have an idea or so it seems. Kengo is sure things will work out since you're there, and he suggests they get back to work. Shirou agrees, saying that if Ryouta's suggestion goes through then they'll all be super busy. Moritaka is quiet, so Kengo asks him what's wrong. He apologizes, saying he was looking at the full moon.

Scene then shifts to your side of things as Ryouta observes that there's already a lot of people around for the magic show even though there's some time before it starts. He talks about how the show is the finishing touch for the festival, and in plays it'd be the ending program. Tezcatlipoca talks about there being a purification ceremony happening in a different location after this, but the magic show will be the last climax of the main area. The fireworks show will be happening right afterwards, and Tezcatlipoca laughs that people should enjoy it. Furufumi says he was wondering where it would be but is surprised it's at the watchtower, which he notes does stand out. Tvastar is quiet, and Cait Sith is moaning to himself. You try to tell everyone that they're putting pressure on Cait Sith.

Cait Sith makes some more distressed noises before eventually saying he's getting nervous. He tries to remember one of those Japanese suggestions about how to deal with nerves, and Furufumi asks if he's sure he doesn't want to use the idea you and Ryouta came up with. Cait Sith doesn't answer, so Furufumi continues by saying he feels it's an erratic yet unprecedented idea, but it's not an impossible one.

There's Tezcatlipoca's perfect accuracy and unprecedented leadership. There's Li Chou's goldfish scooping skills and exaggerated reactions. There's Ryouta's ability to eat anything and his communication skills. Furufumi glances at you before he adds your natural virtue that somehow connects you with tons of people, but he rethinks it and says it's more a trouble finder's nature. Having all these people assisting should make the magic show a success. You add that Furufumi forgot himself and his knowledge and foresight and say you do want Cait Sith to depend on you guys.

Furufumi coughs as he struggles to find something to say, then decides to say that having all these unique people helping out should make things work for such a large audience. Tvastar says nothing, and Li Chou takes offense at the exaggerated reactions comment and blusters about how he's so much better than anyone else around. Tezcatlipoca laughs and says he doesn't mind. He actually seems happy to excite the crowd together with you, but he says this is only if Cait Sith chooses to go with the idea. Gather happy power to complete his new body is one of his reasons, but he also wants to see how Cait Sith's choice bears out for Tir na Nog. What does a successor to a king who was driven away chooses to do after leaving? That's something he wants to show someone who's come over. You ask Tezcatlipoca who he's talking about.

Tezcatlipoca laughs, then declines to answer. Ryouta expresses concern for Cait Sith while Tvastar stays quiet some more as he thinks. Cait Sith thanks everyone, and he talks about how there are kings who borrow the power of others. That's a valid way of being, but Cait Sith decides he wants to try becoming the perfect king as the next king of cats. If he can get even a step closer to how King Grimalkin is, he'd like to handle the magic show on his own and make it a success.

Furufumi asks Cait Sith if Grimalkin really is so great. Cait Sith describes him as someone all the cats admired, someone who stood in front of the citizens while being a king. The magic he uses can do anything and is his symbol, though Cait Sith makes it sound mostly like it's offensive magic. But anyways without that magic, the cats wouldn't have a nation of their own. Furufumi is a little taken aback, saying the explanation was abstract, but he got the point about how strong he was.

Tezcatlipoca talks about Grimalkin being a user of great magic and says it's appropriate for someone who fights other countries and builds their own. Li Chou suggests Cait Sith is being too stubborn about this since he can become his own style of king. Cait Sith says he knows that him becoming a perfect king is a wish that won't come true, but he shouts that he can't throw away his aspirations. Everyone else reacts in surprise, and their attention focuses on Cait Sith.

Cait Sith says he wants to be perfect, which he has to do as the next king of cats. He needs the strongest magic and the greatest power, or else nobody will forgive him least of all himself. He can't replace what he's missing with someone else, and Furufumi seems sad for him. You try to say something to him, but suddenly Tvastar rejoins the conversation by yelling about modifications. Cait Sith is surprised by this, and Tvastar says modding is the only solution available to his problem. You try to talk Tvastar out of this, interpret his suggestion as a joke, and/or ask what he's talking about all of a sudden.

Tvastar says he finally understands why he can't let the kitty cat be. Tezcatlipoca asks if he's talking about Cait Sith, so Tvastar nods with a bold smile. Cait Sith says his name, and Tvastar repeats his point that modding is the only way. If there's a life in front of him missing something and struggling forward, then he declares that he has to get involved and modify it. He then tells Cait Sith he'll mod him and give him power that can match up to the previous kind of cats. Cait Sith tries to tell him he already turned him down on that, but Tvastar argues that the Old king of cats can't keep waiting for him forever.

Cait Sith reacts in shock at that, and Tvastar says he could die of age, or an accident or illness. Some things can't be taken back while waiting for him. So in that case, Tvastar promises to make Cait Sith super strong with his mods right away. Cait Sith is taken aback and asks if that's the only way, and he still has reservations against it even if it'd be for Grimalkin's sake. Tvastar talks about adding in more things that he thinks Cait Sith may be missing and to give him power comparable to magic, and you call out to either or both of them.

Ryouta tries to stop Cait Sith saying Furufumi wasn't done explaining his idea, but he gets cut off by a wall of fire blocking his way. Vritra is visible in the whirl of fire. Tvastar says he won't let you guys stop him since they'll be doing the modifications. Li Chou asks if they're serious and asks what you guys will do. Tezcatlipoca says this is serious because the plan to collect happy power will fail if things go on like this, and Li is baffled that's what he's focusing on. Tezcatlipoca says it is important, then asks Li if Cait Sith looks happy to him as the camera pans over.

Tvastar declares that Cait Sith will be happy after this as he tells Tezcatlipoca to just sit back and watch in envy. Ryouta yells to Cait Sith and asks if power really is the thing he wants. Cait Sith is surprised, and Ryouta argues that if he did, he could have done something other than learn magic tricks. Tvastar asks that you guys stop and mentions feeling serious for once. Ryouta turns to you, and you say you should stop the because it's too early to decide things.

Tvastar says he won't let you since he wants to make Cait Sith stronger. He modifies weak people, just like he did with his weak son/creation so that next time they'll be rewarded and happy. If you're going to get in his way, he's not going to show any mercy, no matter who it is. He then declares that you're mistaken if you think you can run from him, the Creator of Life and from Vritra, imitator of the Enveloper as he launches the episode battle. The story continues after that.

After the battle, narration picks up and starts talking about Deva Loka. It is a world that repeats the processes of creation, preservation, and destruction for eternity. The previous era and the current era of this world bears the role of the Trinity. Then there is the man in Deva Loka once praised as the sun. He is Tvastar, the artisanal crafter who created life. He brought forth many children/creations, one of which was his cute son. But one day that son was destroyed and died. He grieved and grieved, until a thought occurred to him.

What if he had made him stronger? If he had, his son surely would never have died. The artisan immersed himself in his research so that he could create a stronger, sturdier vessel. And also so that he could take revenge on those who killed his child. A new creation was born, which he named Vritra (re: the Enveloper). His true nature is to lock up a target within its cavity and rebirth it into a new form, Garbha-Pati, Lord of the Womb.

Back to the present, Tvastar announces a new function has been added after being spat out from Vritra, then starts blowing fire everywhere to block the party's way. He cheers about how great modding is, but he says he can keep going further. You yell about how the fire is keeping you guys from getting close or express disbelief in what he can do. Tezcatlipoca is amused at how surprising Tvastar is and making him enjoy how things are going with the battle. Li Chou on the other hand is annoyed at how Tvastar is doing as he says he's not just some shady technician. Ryouta turns to you and asks what to do since this might turn into a bigger battle.

Furufumi asks Cait Sith what it is he really wants. Will he reject their help and accept the modifications, or not? Furufumi thinks it's fine either way, so long as that's actually his choice. Cait Sith says he sounds like an argument he's read in a book somewhere. Furufumi seems surprised by this comment for some reason and says that isn't something he got out of a book. Cait Sith thinks a little more and seems to have come to a decision, and Tvastar prompts Cait Sith to come with him to get modded. Cait Sith however responds by using his magic tricks to evacuate you guys from the flames, surprising everyone.

Smoke covers things within the fire, and once it clears up Cait Sith is gone. Tvastar is amazed and surprised at this, but then refocuses on things at hand as he asks Cait Sith why he rejected his offer again. Cait Sith apologizes, then says he agrees with you guys in declining the offer. Tvastar asks why again since he thought he wanted power that rivals magic. Cait Sith apologizes for being selfish and thanks him for his consideration, but he says he wants to be a perfect king that stands alone. If that isn't possible, he says he wasn't suited to be king. He then starts walking off, his show starting soon.

Cait Sith says he has to get his show ready. Tvastar is quiet for a moment, then sighs as he talks to Vritra as he phrases this turn of events as being dumped, saying modding needs the client's consent. He then wonders what he's going to do now that he's opened hostilities, so it'd be hard to just talk to everyone again. A voice tells him to mod them then, and Tvastar reacts in surprise to what looks like Shadow Cait Sith turning up.

Back to your end, you are confused at being moved to the stall area since you were at the watchtower area earlier. Ryouta asks if Cait Sith let you guys escape, then asks why he did so. Furufumi notices the underground machinery that Cait Sith used to pull it off. Li Chou gets frustrated and asks what it is Cait Sith really wants, and Tezcatlipoca says you guys need to stop the magic show whether Cait Sith accepted the remodeling or not. The section ends with Ryouta urging you guys all to head over to see what's happening.

Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 5 Part 3

Cait Sith opens the section up by thanking everyone for waiting and asking all participants to head to the starting line. He explains that the event is a race where you begin at the starting point, head to designated stalls and eat everything they give you, and run to the goal. Participants are to go in pairs, and both are to eat the dishes from the stalls, so the combinations made are key. No leftovers are allowed, and while you are going to be eating fast, Cait Sith says he wants you guys to still appreciate the tastes and thank the cooks. Cait Sith says he will be commentating, along with Tvastar and Tezcatlipoca. The two say their regards, and you comment that Cait Sith is busy, wonder what Tezcatlipoca is doing there, and are surprised Tvastar is in on this too.

Ryouta also is surprised at how much Cait Sith is doing, but he considers that this might be a good thing in that Cait Sith will be too busy to brood about things. Camera pans over all the participants, and Cait Sith worries that there are too many people for the race. Someone tells him to just roll with it, so Cait Sith does so and tells everyone to face in the direction of the first stall, then fires the starting signal. Ryouta says you guys should just get over there and laughs, comparing things to a sports festival race.

The first stall in the race turns out to be Nomad's yakisoba stall, and Cait Sith talks up his food as a masterpiece with plenty of bonito flakes and sauce. Nomad tells everyone to come on up for his special yakisoba and that they better eat it all up. Ryouta says Nomad seems to have gotten better at cooking, which occurred to him earlier before saying the noodles are great. Ziz also says it's great and says it must have been made by a professional. Behemoth has just finished and prompts Touji to head to the next stall. Touji says he understands and goes. Cait Sith says that the leading teams are Behemoth/Touji and Ashigara/Yasuyori. Tezcatlipoca talks about how noodles are easy to eat and how everyone has cleared this checkpoint.

Over at the second stall is Volos, and Cait Sith says it's Volos's special candied apples made with fresh fruits. Volos says they're his ripe apples made with all his efforts, and he starts handing them out. Ryouta is briefly shocked saying it's hard to eat candy apples fast, but he's happy with how sweet and tasty they are. Ashigara says that if you can bite them, it's not a problem as he brags about the jaws and teeth of bears. Yasuyori thanks Volos for the apples and says he'll come back later to buy some for Tanetomo and the others. Cait Sith commentates on the candy coating giving people trouble, and Tvastar cites a random trivia fact that it's food coloring in the candy coating making people's lips red.

Over at the third stall, Cait Sith is having trouble reading his notes on what's there, but he sees the alt text that says the food there is Indescribable Spit Roast. Tezcatlipoca reads/recites that it's [Mystery Meat] grilled on a skewer and [REDACTED] breaded and fried. It's a stall item from Old Ones that he finds fascinating. Tvastar says he's already checked to see if it's safe to eat, and he assures everyone that it's okay. Cait Sith is baffled into going along with things. Ryouta says it looks like an octopus leg that's still moving, but it might be tasty...maybe. Ziz is lost for words at how to describe it. You say you feel like you've seen it before, are a little intimidated that it's moving, and/or say it looks like Valentine's chocolate from that one time. Behemoth and Ashigara have evidently shoved it down and are ready to get to the next checkpoint.

Cait Sith says the race has reached the endgame, with the leads unchanged and the other teams straggling behind. Tezcatlipoca says that regardless of how easy it is to eat a certain thing, all teams were given a portion for one, which doesn't seem to have caused any gaps to arise. He then says that it's admirable how you and Ryouta are keeping close behind Behemoth. Cait Sith says everyone has gotten to the stall area, where teams have to go to multiple stalls and eat everything there. Tvastar says things might get hectic as he passes on a report to Cait Sith. Cait Sith reads out that some of the participants have eaten over their quota and that some of the stalls won't have enough for everyone. He gets alarmed while Tvaster and Tezcalipoca look pensive.

Tezcatlipoca jumps forward to announce a change in the rules. Since there's only a limited number of dishes available, it is now going to be a war to grab them. Tvastar excitedly supports this and wishes everyone luck. All remaining participants react in shock to this turn of events, and you either comment that this is awful or be surprised that the food fight is going to a fight for the food. Cait Sith continues with commentating saying it's suddenly a battle royale and tells everyone to be careful about being hurt. Tezcatlipoca adds in that this particularly section will have artifacts be allowed for use, and he'll be using some cloth to mark the limits of the App use okay area. Regular people can't see it, but he wishes everyone good luck too. Tvastar repeats that artifacts are only allowed here, so if you use them elsewhere you'll get disqualified, so watch out for that.

Ryouta is struggling to keep up with what's happening, but Touji grasps things quickly as he tells Behemoth they need to go grab some food. Behemoth cheers and says it's time to grab stuff and eat all the things. Ashigara laughs and says he likes this change in rules, though Yasuyori warns him not to push himself too much. Ziz is worried about things now, but Shennong says they're already in it so they might as well see how far they can go. Ryouta turns to you in a panic at how confident everyone else seems to be, so you say to stay as calm as possible, focus on surviving, and/or focus only on the food.

Ryouta gets some of his resolve back as he says it might turn out okay if he's with you. For the sake of making memories with you, he decides to be a bit more active than usual and announces his reentrance as the Food Fighter as the episode battle begins. More story happens afterwards.

After the battle, the story picks up midway through the melee as Touji jumps for some beef kabobs. A wrestler mob tries to jump away with it, but Touji jumps after him and swipes the meat. When he lands he says the wrestler can keep the skewer, and said wrestler bemoans his failure as he lands on his face. Ashigara laughs about grabbing some oden and tells Yasuyori to get to eating. Yasuyori however is concerned that Ashigara brought a whole pot of the stuff. Ashigara is certain they can handle it and says he'll give the daikon radishes and eggs to him. Yasuyori is unconvinced but goes along with it, thanking him.

Ziz tells Shennong that she can't really eat anymore, but she can probably try to fit a little more in. Shennong says he is too, then comments on how chewy the grilled squid is. Cait Sith commentates on what a messy battle it's become and apologizes to the contestants. Tezcatlipoca points out to him that it looks like someone is breaking ahead, and Tvastar laughs about the excitement before telling everyone to mind their manners as they eat. Cait Sith says two teams are running ahead, noting it's time to close the App and make a break for it. Ryouta is surprised you guys might win this and says it was lucky you guys got food you're good with. You express relief that you guys went for weiners, say it'd have been dicey if you guys went for baby castella cakes, and wonder if there's any water.

Touji asks Behemoth if he can keep going, pushing him to keep moving since it's so close. Behemoth says he can, and he burps saying he can still eat a little more. Tezcatlipoca asks about how there's supposed to be one more team up front, and Cait Sith see them as he says they're still eating oden. Ashigara coughs, saying he could handle the amount, but it's all freshly made hot. Yasuyori mentions his surprise that they had to drink all the soup too, and he swallows a bit before saying it's good. Cait Sith says oden is one of the hottest things there is and sympathizes with the pair falling behind because of it. Tvastar prompts him to keep up with the commentary since someone is close to winning. You either express surprise at possibly winning this or say you feel like you're forgetting something.

Ryouta is panting hard as he says it's difficult to run at full speed. You either start to ask him a question as you realize what's up, or you yell and ask if he doesn't do well with running. Ryouta still pushes himself to go on, saying it's for you. Touji sees that Ryouta has slowed down and tells Behemoth it's time to sprint. Behemoth is ready for it and says he'll be fine if he doesn't turn fat, except some kid accidentally loses their grip on some cotton candy. Behemoth apparently swallows it and balloons up.

Cait Sith points this out in his commentary while Tvastar excitedly wonders how it happened as he says he wants to mod him. Cait Sith commentates that Behemoth's feet can't reach the ground anymore and asks if this means they're bowing out. You ask if Behemoth went over his limits, point out that he got fat, or ask if the cotton candy did him in. Ryouta is still breathing hard and asks what's happening since he hasn't been paying attention. You tell him you aren't sure, but you tell him it's your chance to win and tell him to go full speed ahead. He shrugs but says okay and starts yelling.

Touji quietly thinks, and Behemoth apologizes to him for this unexpected hiccup. Touji asks Behemoth if he still feels like trying to win, surprising him. Cait Sith reacts in shock when he sees Touji using his swords to roll Behemoth after that, and Touji tells Behemoth to use his artifact to suck in more food to get fatter and therefore easier to roll. You also react at shock to this or say Touji's taking this seriously. Ryouta gets upset at his chance at winning this with you is slipping away, especially since he sucks at running. But he decides that if Touji is going that far he should try what he can himself. You either encourage Ryouta on or try to ask what he's doing since he doesn't have the app on then. It turns out Ryouta's big plan is to summon a bunch of pudding and slide or surf his way to the finish line on it. Tezcatlipoca says you guys have caught up, and there won't be a draw for this race so he tells both teams to aim for the top. Tvastar tells you guys to make everything exciting as he cheers on the dead heat.

After the race concludes, Licht says he'll announce who the winner is. The winning team turns out to be Ziz and Shennong, and you either react in shock or in resignation. Licht explains that the race for the most part disallowed the use of artifacts aside from one instance. Since your team and Touji's team used your artifacts outside of that, both teams got disqualified. Licht then congratulates Ziz and Shennong and prompts people to raise a toast for them. Ryouta is quiet, and you talk to him as you either say he did great or ask if he's disappointed.

Ryouta is having a hard time describing how he feels but eventually says he's feeling refreshed. He had a cool moment out there, but he apologizes for screwing you guys out of the win. It was still fun doing it all with you and everyone, and he shouts out how much fun he had. As his clear voice rings out, your happi starts to react to happy power to Ryouta's surprise. Ashigara laughs, saying he lost but things were exciting at the end. Yasuyori agrees, saying his hands were sweating before prompting you guys to raise a cup. Ryouta takes a second to keep up with this, and Ashigara and Yasuyori fill your cups with juice.

Tezcatlipoca says it was a good battle, though it was a little disappointing how it turned out. Tvastar laughs as he says Ryouta did it again, though most people would be sad in this case. He then hands Tezcatlipoca a stamina drink. Ziz talks to Behemoth about how regrettable the race ended up, but she says she was cheering for him without thinking about it. Behemoth says it was going to be a shrewd victory, but he shrugs it off and says it was fun. Shennong prompts everyone to raise their cups for the toast, and Behemoth's team pours their drinks into your cups too.

Ryouta initially protests against this since the drinks will get mixed, but then he laughs at the color it's turning into and feels happy for some reason. He tries out the mixed drink, saying he's never tasted that flavor before and finds it funny. The drinks mixing together then puts an idea into Ryouta's head, and you ask him what's on his mind. Ryouta starts saying he has a hypothetical in mind and talks about how having everyone here will do something with happy power. Cait Sith runs up and asks Ryouta if he's okay, so Ryouta turns to him and says he might have an idea. Something that will make the magic show he's doing really exciting, he says as the episode ends.
