Because of that, Alp decided he wanted to become
popular, a true star that anyone would dream about. He believed that if
he did so, he’d find his true self, the self that everyone would love.
And
that’s how we have Alp as he is today as he’s presenting things for the
moment. He’s in Ueno somehow, which has an association with pandas. And
pandas are popular! Alp set his sights even further than that, and this
will be his story as to how he gets there! He thinks. Probably.
Definitely.
Title card pops up, and the prologue is titled The Cute Demon is a Star!?
After
that, things tune back in to follow you as the sun starts to set on a
rainy day with you out at Shinjuku Station. You’re out looking for an
art supply store when Solomon pops up, saying the next place will
definitely have what you’re looking for this time. It’s the biggest shop
in the city after all.
You were at four
other shops before this point and none of them had what you were after,
which Solomon comments on the misfortune of. You point out that he
directed you to those places. He cries and says he didn’t know they
wouldn’t have it.
Narration picks up to say
things started several hours ago, then flips the sepia filter on for a
flashback. The bell chimes as class ends back in Shinjuku Academy and
students all get ready to leave or talk to the teacher. Ryouta is ready
to get going because art class makes him sleepy. It’s about the only
class that actually makes him want to exercise.
Kengo
comments on how unusual this is for Ryouta, then offers to spar with
him outside. Ryouta passes since that’s not his idea of exercise; going
to your room is however. Shirou says that wouldn’t really count as much
more than a decent walk. Ryouta tries to insist it does count and turns
to you for an opinion. You either agree or disagree.
Going
with B, Ryouta is disappointed you aren’t backing him up on this. Then
he immediately turns to ask Touji about it. Touji is surprised to be put
on the spot and says he doesn’t agree either. Ryouta whines about being
abandoned, which Touji has to deny. Ryouta then uses that to declare
Touji his ally.
Touji changes the subject
to ask you why you’re so focused on checking out your paints. Turns out
you’ve run out during class, so you talk about having to get more.
Ryouta checks your stuff too, then says they’re all used up. Kengo
suggests just going to the school store to get some, and Shirou suggests
getting extra since they’ll be used even as third year students.
You
ask if that’s true, and Shirou figures you mean it in the sense that
Shinjuku Academy isn’t strictly an art school. He says he’s heard that
the curriculum has been expanding in breadth more since there’s been
more Transients. Since they’ve come from many other worlds to Tokyo this one, it’s probably a plan to educate them about various things from here.
Shirou
does say that some that have transferred to more specialized schools if
they’ve gotten a certain talent at something or other. Either way
Shirou thinks it’s a good thing for the natives too. Learning about
everything is important and valuable to a student’s future after all.
Try new things! Pursue your dreams!
Kengo
complains about how serious Shirou is and would rather have as few
lessons as possible. Ryouta would prefer to keep PE classes down, but
he’d be all for cooking classes. He talks about how he’d hypothetically
flex his skills at it, but Shirou immediately tells him he’ll stop him
because all their lives would be at stake. He’s shocked to hear this, so
you can either ask if he forgot, refer to Valentine’s as a nightmare,
or ask what happened.
Going with B, Ryouta
is surprised you’d say so too and swears he won’t try to thicken
chocolate by adding potato starch anymore. Touji comments on getting a
good idea of what happened even if he doesn’t know everything.
Anyways
Ryouta mentions a nearby class had cooking lessons today and says he’ll
get cookies from someone there later. Kengo asks how much of an
appetite does he have, but admits that’s so like him.
Flashback
ends as Solomon says the school store was a bust, then the other stores
were no good either. This now includes the biggest retailer too, but
Solomon says it’ll be okay because you have him with you! Then he
directs you to the next shop and asks you to hurry.
When
you turn a corner, the two of you notice a Transient dancing around and
singing. Alp is there breakdancing and rapping about sincerity, and
narration says he’s doing it without any issues. Solomon is impressed
and identifies the dance style, wondering if Alp is affected by gravity.
The
spectators are impressed too, and one of them asks how it is Alp can do
so despite being fat. Alp internally cheers over all the attention, but
in doing so accidentally kicks a tin can lying around. You quickly
intervene and stop the can from hitting someone. The guy thanks you and
Alp apologizes for kicking the can to begin with. He also thanks you,
and you can either say you’re welcome or that your body moved on its
own.
The crowd applauds you for you for you
save and Alp for his moves. Alp resumes dancing, keeping his eyes on
you the entire time as he feels something. When the dance is done, the
crowd disperses and Solomon observes that Alp is looking at you. He
takes that as his cue and makes some mumbled remark about himself before
peacing out and asking you to call him again if you need him.
Alp
walks over and thanks you again for the can, then says you’re pretty
cool the way you handled yourself. He notes that you’re pretty different
from other people and suggests you’re experienced with life. He then
concludes you must be a hotshot rapper. You either express surprise or
try to deny it, but Alp is convinced and says it’s something he can tell
through his soul.
Anyways Alp realizes he
hasn’t introduced himself yet, so he does so and asks your name. After
you give it to him, he says he likes it and asks to be friends. He also
says upfront that he wants you to like him. Alp says that popular people
are drawn to each other, so you either ask what is happening all of a
sudden or say you’re getting entangled with a weirdo.
Either
way a voice calls out to Alp, and it turns out Cu Sith was coming to
meet him but was delayed. When he sees you, you can either greet him
like you’ve met before or more neutrally like you haven’t. Going with A,
Cu Sith recognizes you and says he’s happy to see you again. He then
asks if you know Alp since it looks like you two were talking.
After
an offscreen explanation, Cu Sith expresses surprise you’re also out
shopping for art supplies. Alp agreed to come with him so he came on
ahead to wait for him. Alp comments on the coincidence of it, saying it
must be fate. Cu Sith invites you to shop with him, so you can either
agree or think about it.
Some time later,
you guys have managed to get your things and Alp says he’s happy for
you. You thank him and comment you finally got it. Alp says it’s weird
how it took you until your fifth stop to get them, and that even they
had to come all the way to Shinjuku to get things.
Cu
Sith says it isn’t too surprising that more local shops were sold out
since there’s an event being held at Ueno. You ask about this, and Cu
Sith says it isn’t that big an event. He doesn’t know why Shinjuku would
be selling out either. But anyways Ueno Academy will be hosting a
Picture Book Workshop for a few days.
The
subject matter gives Cu Sith a good idea, so he invites you to join him
and Alp on their team. You either ask about it being a team activity or
if it’s a book making event. Cu Sith explains that teams will form to
make one book over three days and two nights for this event. Alp says
they need one more person anyways since there must be three people to a
team.
You think aloud about it, so Alp tries to talk you into it. He’d love to spend the night with you eating your dreams
making a picture book together. Cu Sith does worry about this being too
sudden, but Alp pushes in favor since it’s not often there’s a chance
to become friends like this. Cu asks what you think so you agree,
shrugging your shoulders about it or joining willingly.
Cu
Sith is happy about this and says that since they need to get things
ready, you guys should meet in front of Ueno Academy. Alp tells you it
starts Friday after school and tells you not to forget, and you say
you’ll see them then. Narration picks up to say you guys went off your
ways, adding a comment about how you’re unaware of the bizarre incident
you’ll be walking into.
The day of the
event, you’re at the city of Ueno as narration talks about the event
being about arts and education. Artists on the forefront of the scene
will be lecturing there, which led to increased turnout and the event
becoming a hugely important one for art school types. But anyways you’re
lost.
Somewhere, a voice wheezes as they
ask Wakan Tanka to slow down, which you hear and recognize. Wakan
appears and asks Gunzou what’s wrong, saying he’ll carry the luggage a
bit longer. Gunzou protests that having a senpai carry luggage is
against etiquette, but Durga says it’s fine since Wakan volunteered to
do it. Gunzou says that isn’t his point and briefly holds Durga not
being in a team sport against her.
Gunzou
then asks to take half of Wakan’s stuff, saying Wakan should act more
like a team captain is supposed to. Durga says Gunzou’s being too
wrapped up in a team sports mentality. Wakan laughs and says as a third
year and captain, he is placed on a higher position. It was the same
back home, with everyone in the wastes looking up to him. It’s because
of that that Wakan wants to see things with the others from their
perspective, here in Tokyo.
Durga says he’s
being weird again and says she doesn’t get that part of him since she
wants to be in first place. Before Gunzou can say anything else, Wakan
Tanka turns on his airhead ikemen charm and thanks “his Gunzou” for
trying to advise him. Gunzou falls over in shock and Durga snaps at him
to get used to it already. Wakan turns to Durga next and thanks her for
respecting his feelings. She denies it and says she might want to start
dominating him/cows at this rate.
Durga
also makes mention about wanting to tie Wakan up for some reason. Gunzou
gets back up and walks around in a daze, so Durga has to call him out
of it. He still bumps into you, so you either yell, almost fall on your
ass, or try to break your fall. Wakan Tanka rushes in to catch you,
dropping off his bags and running to you like lightning. He asks if
you’re okay, so you thank him and optionally think to yourself how hot
he is.
Wakan gets a good look at you and
notices something. He extends his hand out to yours, and when your
fingers touch what feels like lighting goes through both of you. You
exclaim in surprise, wonder if that was static electricity, or ask if
this is a sign of fate. Going A, Wakan recognizes it as his lightning
from the day he ended up directing it at you, the exile.
Durga
tries to get Wakan to focus back on other things and tries to help
Gunzou when she notices you. Gunzou apologizes when he turns around to
see you too. You can then talk to either of them, and both comment on
the coincidence of meeting you here. Either way Durga asks if you’re
okay, telling Gunzou to be careful. He apologizes and tries to excuse
himself.
Wakan stares, so you ask who he
is. You can also ask if he’s their senpai or kouhai. Going with A Durga
introduces him, though he interrupts partway through to say he wanted to
see you again as he grabs your hand, overcome with emotion. Durga asks
if you two know each other, so you either deny it, say you might have
met before, or ask if this is some new flirting method.
Going
with B, Wakan talks to himself about having met again here, then seems
to get whatever it is and asks about being able to meet again here “this
time.” He’s happy either way. Gunzou tries to ask for an explanation,
but Wakan says he doesn’t understand. Durga says it’s like that all the
time, then tells you Wakan is sorta really weird.
You
either try to ask what’s going on, agree with Durga, or stay quiet.
Going with A, Durga says he does that sometimes and says it’s weird how
people like him despite that. He’s not a bad person though, so she asks
you to forgive him. You either shrug and agree, say he seems really
popular, or say you love him. In C, Wakan says he’s happy to see you and
says you guys belong to each other.
In any
case Durga notices your things and asks if you’re also going to where
they’re going. Gunzou mentions the workshop and says they’re lost. Durga
wanted to get there first, but the other two disagreed with that.
Gunzou tries to smooth it over but it doesn’t go over well. Wakan tries
to mediate and take the blame, though Durga doesn’t accept that either.
Anyways you tell them you’re also heading to Ueno Academy.
The
sports gang are happy to hear that as they think you know the way.
Gunzou comments on being able to play around as planned, but Durga says
she isn’t there to play. You ask why they’re going. Durga says she is
interested in making a book, but they are there more because of school
stuff.
Gunzou explains that Yoyogi has a
certain system in place, so you ask about it. Wakan starts by mentioning
that Yoyogi is a sports school. With all the related activities, some
students will have problems with grades and attendance. Make up work
will be needed, but they can’t cut into the other things.
Required
subjects will have to be dealt with early morning classes, but
electives can be completed by attending outside seminars and workshops.
In their case, Gunzou needs eight hours and the other two need twelve,
all for art. So if they go to the Ueno workshop that’ll fulfill their
requirements for that. You either express amazement about the system,
the sports school, or say you see why Durga is in a team activity. Going
A, Durga repeats that she’s interested in making a book still.
Wakan
says they’ll do their best and Gunzou says it’ll work out if they join
together. You agree, and Durga asks if you know how to get to there. You
tell them you don’t, so Gunzou worries. Wakan isn’t deterred for long
feeling you’ll get there eventually, and things end with Durga yelling
out her big no.
