Seaside Fashionista Episode 2 Part 2

Things pick back up with Arachne out at Yoyogi’s sports field or whatever and thanking everyone for taking her to the infirmary earlier. She immediately orders everyone to sit down, so you either have to tell her she’s being rude again, ask how the hell does she normally treat customers, or point out that everyone is pulling away from her.

Durga laughs that Arachne is back to her usual self and says when you get used to her, her speaking style is pretty clear. Arachne approves of them being so adaptable and says if they weren’t they couldn’t keep with the stormy seas that are fads. Daisuke then wonders what they’re going to do with Wakan Tanka not understanding or having his own request. Wakan thinks it’d be okay to just wear whatever Arachne makes.

Arachne then decides to rephrase the question and asks if the jocks have a vision about how they want to be. Ashigara, Kyuuma, and Gunzou are quick to answer that they want to be popular, and Tsathoggua is shocked at how they jumped in with that.

Gunzou mentions that when it comes to making orders or requests over clothes, he thinks it’s more about a person wanting to become more respected, like wanting to be popular and bringing in results. That’s his personal opinion anyway. Durga comments that it’s surprising Kyuuma would feel that way, though she gets why Gunzou and Ashigara do. Gunzou is then shocked she’s glossing over what he said.

Kyuuma tries to explain that it’s the most important thing in baseball. He dreams of being the pitcher people go crazy over. Daisuke says he understands that sort of feeling, and he thinks it’s best that clothes be eye-grabbing. Even if he finds it embarrassing, he also thinks it could be addictive.

Durga agrees with Daisuke and says it’s like winning first place and getting everyone to look at you. Arachne is slightly surprised at their answers and calls them young, though she then says she’s about the same age too. She then turns to Wakan Tanka, but he’s even less interested in that than anything.  He also doesn’t see any draw in the idea of dressing up in order to get ahead. Any distinctions will disappear in the end anyway.

Wakan Tanka says his view on that comes from the totally flat wasteland he used to live in. You either exclaim you’ve made no progress or try to prompt Wakan for any ideas at all. He wonders about it for a sec and thinks about if there’s anything he does want.

Wakan eventually says he does have something he wants to know, so he’d like a way for him to figure that out. He asks Arachne if her clothes will be able to do that for him, so she asks him if he’s saying he wants a way to begin something. If that’s the case, she suggests you guys engage in battle.

You are of course baffled by this sudden turn in topics, and Tsathoggua asks her more directly why this is suddenly going down. Arachne is happy to dramatically explain her thought process. Weaving is a battle, a battle is a way of life, and a way of life is a way of expressing things in your body. As such, the fastest way to figure out the way one lives is to fight. Once that’s done Arachne just needs to get to sewing, and this is something she can do because she’s such a genius.

You either wish Arachne and Wakan good luck in their bout or comment on how novel a measuring battle is. Arachne then says you two are in on this, along with the rest of the jocks. Ashigara, Tsathoggua, and Gunzou are highly surprised by this, so Arachne says her measuring isn’t just about physical sizes. She’s also going to measure Wakan’s personality and his hidden side.

There’s also things like who would they move to protect, whether they keep to themselves, are they’re above board or are they underhanded, amongst others. That’s why she’s asking everyone to join in. Tsathoggua still doesn’t understand, but he says Arachne can’t be stopped at this point.

Ashigara decides to help out then, and Durga thinks it sounds like fun. Kyuuma joins on the bandwagon since the senpais are in. Daisuke says he’ll join too as Wakan’s friend, though he also thinks this could be helpful for his next show. Gunzou says he’ll go all out then and says to be careful about getting hurt.

Tsathoggua comments that your friends really are the nice kind of people who stick together. Arachne and Wakan get into position as she asks if they’re ready. He says he is, which then leads to the episode battle. The story continues on after it.

The story picks up by describing the battle as a clash of elegance and ferocity. As Wakan attacks aggressively, Arachne dodged him gracefully. It’s all compared to a dance between the two, softness versus rigidity, daintiness versus audacity.

Eventually Arachne has her vision, the draws out Wakan’s Shadow from the bottom of his heart with one of her needles. As the two continue clashing, the Shadow becomes ever more vivid so that Arachne can begin weaving his unconscious truth into clothes.

Ashigara is excited as he watches. He was wondering what Arachne meant by measuring earlier, but he likes how it’s a full on battle. Durga is impressed by Arachne’s moves and says it looks like Arachne is able to see everything. The measuring wraps up as everyone else watches, and sports drinks are handed out to everyone.

Kyuuma gives Tsathoggua a honey lemon sports drink, which he says is the school’s specialty. He’s happy about this since he’s all tired out from being a battle he didn’t see coming. Daisuke wonders how much longer Arachne and Wakan are going to continue, since it’s been ten minutes since everyone else dropped out of it. You either say they look like they’re having fun or say everyone seems lively.

Gunzou says if you want to know more about Yoyogi, battling would be the best way to find out. Competing against others, sweating it out, and learning about one another is what they usually do after all. Durga agrees and says they do this all the time. Ashigara then notes that the two have finished up.

Both Wakan Tanka and Arachne suddenly stop moving. She talks about how much she sweated, but it was a refreshing feeling. Both are all smiles about things, and Wakan talks about how Arachne used her string to measure his Shadow. Arachne confirms that and says that things that can’t be seen are crucial to clothing.

Wakan says that if she’s helping him to understand something, he’ll have to help her with everything he has. He then declares he’ll call her his Arachne henceforth. She’s surprised by this, but she says that if her abilities were shown maybe he fell head over heels for her.

Arachne then snaps herself out of it and says natural airheads are fearsome. Wakan sees nothing wrong with what he just said and asks her what’s happening. She says she may have had her heart skip a beat for a second from how direct he is, but that part of him would be his evenhanded deep affection for everyone. Despite that, she says that deep inside him, he has a small but deep scar that shows up on his Shadow. It’s his Shadow that shows his true charm, though she doesn’t know if it’ll reach everyone.

Wakan Tanka decides to tell her honestly what he feels. He says he wanted to give his deep affection to everyone equally, except there is just one special exception. He starts looking at you, which you notice and ask about. In his eyes, you see the dimmest, vaguest flicker of sadness.

Wakan Tanka says that you are the only one in this world that makes his chest tighten with sadness. Kyuuma then panics and asks if the others heard how spontaneously Wakan said that. He also asks if you’re going to answer Wakan. Daisuke freaks out about how public this is, and how you or Wakan aren’t wearing a mask on top of that for this. He does feel like he should learn from that courage though.

Ashigara tries to get Daisuke to calm down and says he shouldn’t act like that too. He tries to tell you to calm down before he breaks down in the middle and begs you guys to not leave him behind. Gunzou is shocked to the point he can’t bring himself to move. Durga tries to protest at how sudden this is for a confession. He’s like that anyways, but somehow this time seems different.

Tsathoggua outright asks if this is love and asks if you two are going to be going out in astonishment. Wakan turns out to not understand why everyone is so surprised and has no idea what going out means.

Arachne says that from what she’s seen from the measuring, his Shadow doesn’t take that form. He doesn’t answer, so Arachne continues and says his Shadow is a deep seated feeling of guilt, or in other words regret.

When asked if she’s right, Wakan decides to ask if you guys will listen to him talk about his long ago past. You either ask about this, say you want to know, or shake then nod at him. In any case he starts by asking if this going out thing everyone was talking about a way of distinguishing one person from another. If it is, he thinks what he wanted to say to you and what he thought about may be a bit different.

Wakan says he only ever had the view point of All For All, everything is for the sake of everyone. To him everything was supposed to be equally important. And yet there was one person who wasn’t, and the memory fragment of his parting with that person stayed inside him like a scar. You then either ask about the supposedly part or stay quiet.

Every time he tries to remember about their death, the memory escapes him. All that leaves him with is miserable pain that’s carved into him like it was done so with lightning. Looking at you reminds him of that pain. You then either ask if he’s saying someone resembles you or wonder if you’ve been mistaken for someone else again.

Either way, Wakan Tanka asks if the pain in his heart is love like everyone says it is, or if it’s something else. Tsathoggua says he feels like you guys have touched a sore spot, and Arachne says she sees and sums up what Wakan wants as the desire to know if he’s in love. She then suggests that he could just go on a date.

Most everyone is in shock over this idea while Wakan is unfazed since he doesn’t understand what’s going on. Arachne is taken aback by the reactions and says it’s the obvious method in ascertaining one’s feelings. She then asks if Wakan ever went on a real date where he fussed over his clothes and stuff.

He doesn’t answer, so Arachne adds that dates mean different things to people. Like the best thing could be trying out new things. If that’s the case, then what he needs are the best clothes he has for important occasions. She says if he has that and goes on a date everything will be clear. She personally hates having Shadows being unclear.

Wakan Tanka decides to accept her suggestion and asks if it’s as important as needing his football uniform for when he plays. In case it is he loudly asks that she make the clothes he’d need for him. For him victory or defeat lies in American football, so he asks her to arrange for some clothes that could give him a rebirth.

Arachne says she’s getting the image of sports casual clothes. It’s so last year, but it suits him. She then says that intuition for fashion has good sense to it as it gets everyone around on board. You ask her what she means by that, and if it’s like starting a trend or something.

Arachne says that since things come to her by intuition, she has a hard time putting them into words. She decides to compare what she calls trends to a marathon. It’s all she can say on it, so all that’s left would to be to produce something.

Durga is happy Arachne is going to make something casual and says she might get something herself if she likes what Wakan gets. Kyuuma is also excited and suggests they take pics to upload when it’s ready. Tsathoggua asks Arachne how long this is going to take.

Arachne says if they leave now and go to her office so she can work on it, she thinks it’ll be about three hours. Daisuke is surprised at how quick that is since he figured hand-sewing something would take a lot longer. Durga says it’d take her a week to do that.

Arachne says that for a normal person that would be right. She however is used to doing this so it won’t take as long. Tsathoggua asks about it taking a while to get back to her office if they leave now. She says that’s why he’s here as she asks him to teleport her over. He’s surprised by this and asks if she was planning on using him from the beginning. You either compliment her for covering all the details or ask Tsathoggua to help.

Tsathoggua grumbles a little about working too much, but he agrees to do it. He then asks for the honey lemon sports drinks to be brought over, and Kyuuma hands him a whole bunch. He then starts drinking them to get ready.

Gunzou looks pensive so Ashigara asks him about that. Gunzou asks if everyone forgot about the money problem, which Ashigara did forget about in all the excitement. Ashigara then has the idea of trying to stun Wakan right now, which Gunzou tries to protest. Mineaki and Avarga show up at this point and tell the jocks to leave the money issue to them, and the episode ends there abruptly.
