The Beachside Hut and Andvara Falls Episode 6 Part 1

After a moment of Andvari doing something at the resort at night, narration picks up the next morning at an office in the resort. Andvari apologizes for having you come in early in the morning but says he has some business going on. He then asks if you know why he called you over.

Andvari tells you to relax and says he just wanted to give you something. As he smiles, he pulls out two pieces of paper for you. It’s the tickets for the cave tour. He didn’t expect you to fill it all out, but hands it over all the same. Andvari then thanks you for all your work.

Goemon laughs and says Andvari made you guys go all over the resort for all this. He thanks Andvari for the tickets in dramatic fashion, which baffles Andvari a little, but he figures with the cave being cool, the hot blooded thing won’t be a big deal.

Goemon then asks when you want to go on the tour. Since your work today starts in the afternoon he suggests going right now. You can either agree, say you’re excited about it, or say it should be after breakfast. Andvari also says you guys should have the morning staff meal at least because he’d rather not have you slip and fall and have another body floating in the drink again. Then he ends the conversation and asks you to work hard today too.

Time skips as you get to the dining area where Jiraiya greets you with what he calls the AndvaResort’s special breakfast plate. Goemon says he can’t get enough of the meals here, then asks for an extra large one and to make it snappy because he’s hungry. Jiraiya is all “alright geez” and says the original was like that too when it comes to appetite.

Goemon proceeds to inhale his food and compliments Jiraiya’s cooking, especially on the sashimi. Jiraiya suggests he try the fried stuff since those are great too. Kotarou comments that the two have gotten along despite how violent their first meeting was. He then asks Volos for dessert saying he’s been looking forward to seeing what sort of fruit would be there.

Volos is happy he’s excited about it and says that it’ll be mangoes today. Seth stares, so Volos offers him one too and says it’s sweet and a product he’s proud of. Seth blusters that i-it’s not like he wants it or anything. He just thought it looked good! Volos hands one over, and Seth is momentarily surprised before happily taking it.

Volos then offers one to Chernobog and says it’s filled with his love, something he photosynthesized with. Chernobog takes one and thanks him as he calls him his something. Volos didn’t hear him right and asks him to repeat himself, but Chernobog says it’s nothing.

Tadatomo walks over to give you some dango and asks about you going to the cave tour afterwards. You either say you are planning on going after eating, ask if he’ll come along, or thank him for the dango. Going B, Tadatomo says that by complete coincidence he got a tour ticket last night.

He then asks to go with you if you’re okay with that. You either say yes normally, say yes like you’re some old samurai lord, or point out that his tail is wagging. Going A, Tadatomo happily thanks you and says your open mindedness reminds him of his father. From the side, Kotarou smiles.

Scene shifts to the outside as Nomad starts with his formal tour welcoming speech before cutting himself off in surprise at how many people there are. He moves to collect everyone’s tickets when he then notices everyone there is an employee and someone he already knows on top of that. You either say you only asked Tadatomo, wonder when the group expanded, or say it’s such a mysterious coincidence.

Tadatomo has no idea how things have come to this and Kotarou says it just turned out that way. He says he’s surprised too since he only invited Volos along. Volos is surprised since he thought it was for everyone and asked the rest, apologizing for his part. Goemon says it should be fine and calls it a kind of destiny. Jiraiya says the more the merrier.

Nomad loses some of his motivation as he says the tour will start soon and asks if anyone else is coming. Andvari walks up and asks to join the tour as he turns up by the entrance with some hand luggage. Kotarou comments on how unusual it is for him to come too, so Andvari says he has his own business to take care of, so he’ll be with you guys for part of the tour. Kotarou hmms at that but doesn’t say anything more.

Volos laughs and compares the liveliness to a festival. It reminds him of the ones from back home where people wished for good harvests. Chernobog says he’s happy to go see the unknown with Andvari, and Andvari freaks out a little saying Chernobog is exaggerating and that he’s only there for part of the trip.

Aegir runs up next saying he wants to join the tour too. He overslept the night before because he couldn’t get to sleep from the excitement. Nomad is displeased to see him, and Aegir tells him to calm down, though he does like passionate people. He’s here with the right qualifications this time as he sticks out his filled out stamp card.

You ask Aegir about him joining the tour and having completed his stamp card, so he says he had the beach house course meal and participated in the diving and beach sports. Aegir says it’s been enjoyable and that he might become a regular customer. Andvari laughs, saying that would be great. He then invites him along since the card is done and all, and Nomad gives up since the owner is giving the okay.

Nomad then says it’s about time to go, but Andvari prompts him to use his script since he’s making this an inspection on top of everything else. Nomad is irked by this but mentally sighs before launching into excited tour guide mode, which includes having to use a much more formal first person pronoun than usual.

He introduces himself as part of the spiel, thanks everyone for the applause, then says he’ll start by answering a preliminary question: why is there a limestone cave near Kasai Coastal Park? The answer is that the inside of the cave is not a part of Tokyo.

You’ve probably seen overworld shifts in Tokyo here or there, and the same has happened here. Some random cave has been connected to another world. You think on this and ask if this is also a place where conditions have been stacked up. You also wonder who the core of it is.

Anyways Nomad asks that nobody strays from the path, especially the ninjas. The ninjas obediently agree, which Nomad is still suspicious about. Kotarou prompts him to smile instead of scowl, and Nomad agrees since he has office renovation payments to do at the end of the month.

After a bishie smile, Nomad asks everyone to form a line and go on in as he leads the way. As The Analyst kicks in upon reaching the interior proper, Goemon says it’s a really beautiful place. Makara is also amazed and points out that it looks like icicles are forming all around. Kotarou says it really does feel like an otherworldly cave. If it weren’t an overworld shift it wouldn’t be nearly so eye catching.

Nomad starts explaining that limestone caves are naturally occurring caves where limestones accumulate and are carved out by water erosion. Rain can oxidize limestone too, which also causes it to change shape into stalactites and stalagmites, the icicles Makara pointed out. It’s a process that takes years to happen. You express your own amazement at things.

Aegir thinks to himself that Something Is Wrong. Far as he’s heard there never was a limestone cave at Yggdrasil’s golden caves Andvarafors/Andvara Falls. He wonders if something else has also been overlapped and wonders if it what’s happening is...something that gets cut off as Nomad asks how everyone is liking the tour so far.

Aegir says he is enjoying things and says it’s unusual in the academic sense, which is a bit surprising. In his thoughts he also says he’s being monitored, which he takes as a sign of his worth as a treasure hunter.

Narration picks up to say you guys walk on for some time until you reach a rest area. Nomad says it’s free time for everyone and that it’s okay to eat, but warns people to not leave their trash behind. Volos expresses his surprise at the power of nature and how it compares to plants. Seth gets excited as he says it’s his first time seeing a cave like this. Chernobog agrees as he calls Seth by his self declared title, then says he’s only ever known about this in books when he was on Bald Mountain.

Seth mentions hearing something flowing and thinks it must be a ghost. Nomad says it’s underground water and tells him not to fall into it. Seth says he knows, then marvels at this bit about nature.

Tadatomo then asks if you’re thirsty and says he brought a canteen with him. You accept the offer and thank him before talking about how cool the place is. Tadatomo says there aren’t many caves like this back in his home world either. He’s happy to be spending time with you like this and says it reminds him of his younger days with his father.

Goemon is quiet, and Jiraiya asks if he’s been amazed into silence. Goemon says it’s supposed to be his first time in here he thinks, but he feels like he’s seen it before.

Volos brought along a watermelon, and as people start eating he wanders around looking around with his jaws dropped. He asks where Andvari went since he wanted to give him some watermelon too. Makara notes that Nomad and Jiraiya are gone too. It’s still break time so it’s okay, but he wonders where they went. Aegir says nothing.

Kotarou jokes that they fell into the water and got carried away, which scares Seth. Seth also mentions feeling a sudden chill for some reason. You either suggest waiting until break time is over or say you’re worried and bring up splitting up to look for the others.

Apparently Andvari’s voice’s calls out and laughs as he says you don’t need to worry. Also instead of sticking ‘seriously’ at the end of every other of his sentences he instead tacks on ‘maybe.’ “Andvari” then shows up, clean shaven, and Chernobog greets him and says everyone was worried.  Not Andvari dips into third person for a second as he politely thanks everyone, and you pick up that something seems off.

Totes Andvari says he’s the same as always, all the while using watakushi instead of ore as he usually does. Nothing is wrong at all, maybe! But as an apology for worrying people he offers to show you guys something interesting. He tells you guys to follow him as he walks off.

Kotarou says it’s too suspicious but asks what everyone else thinks. It should be interesting in various meanings of the term, so he suggests going along anyway. You go along with the idea even though something about it bothers you. There’s still the matter of the other guys being missing as well.

Tadatomo acknowledges it as an order and says he’ll protect you. Goemon is still quiet, and the episode part ends as the title card pops up. This chapter is called The Golden Cave That Seriously Shines With Greed.
