Live A Hero Opening Prologue

Let us begin with some narration and talk about the time when people are living as boys and girls. In that time, everyone surely must have seen bright futures and Dreams for themselves. They may be doing what they like for work. They may be living in happiness with the ones they love. They may be living their ideal lives. It's a thing of beauty that shines as much as they wish for it to as their brilliant future world expands. Everyone has the right to run for their dreams, and no one is allowed to stop them.

Eventually people grow up and find walls that will stand between them and their dreams. Those walls could be the rules decided by society who decree that something must be a certain way. Or maybe that wall is that person themselves. These walls separate those who couldn't surpass them, the ones who give up and turn around. Not everyone can achieve their dream after all.

But what if? What if you were able to catch a glimpse of a future you should have reached? What if a version of you that made their dreams could true lent your current self their power? Now let's talk about the people who borrow the power of this alternate self, the one who lives in a parallel world, and use that power to stand against the enemies that threaten them now. In this Universe, we call them...Heroes.

We now tune in to Mokdai talking into a camera and addressing the 5 trillion viewers across the Milky Way galaxy and thanking them for waiting for Live a Hero to start. Soon, Parallel Flight Co.'s Hero Live will be starting here in the third planet of the solar system, Earth, and we are filming live from the biggest hero city in Japan, Orient City. You are taken aback to be tuning in at this point as you react with shock and ask where you are and what's happening. Mokdai continues presenting and saying the Hero Operators are here and all the preparation is ready. PFC's new heroes will soon be battling against two Kaibutsu (aka Monsters) shortly, and Mokdai tells everyone to keep their eyes sharp for the moment when the heroes restore peace and order for everyone.

One of the Kaibutsu roars, surprising you with its presence. Huckle walks up and greets you, calling you the company's newest Operator they've been having high hopes for. He notices that you look confused like this is your first time meeting, then comments that it'd be a problem if you forgot your boss's face and dismisses the idea that it could have happened. Akashi comes to talk to you next saying he's been waiting forever for you and asks you to transform him right away. Sui asks for your help since you're all the only ones able to protect the city right now. Ryekie cheerfully yells about how you guys will save the day for great justice again.

Huckle asks you to get started with starting the operation with all the heroes here. He tells you not to worry about anything since he'll be here to support you. It'll be on the job training! For now you should operate as best as you can remember, and things should be simple once you do. You attempt to ask about heroes and operations, which confuses Huckle as he says you seem off somehow. He tries to ask if something is up Again, but Mokdai interrupts to tell you two that the Kaibutsu is starting to rampage, so you guys need to get going too.

Huckle says you guys can't stand around then, saying you should start the battle even though you seem confused. He'll explain things later, so for now you should follow his instructions. And on that subject, Huckle turns to ask if Mokdai will join the field too. Mokdai panics a little as he remembers he's up too, then says he's standing by. He asks you to do well as he says you'll both do your best. Huckle asks if you're ready, then signals Mokdai to start. Mokdai announces the beginning of the Battle Live show, starting the tutorial battle. The prologue continues after that.

Things pick back up with the Kaibutsu being defeated, and Mokdai declares the rescue is a success as peace is restored, then asks the audience to give a hand to the rising stars of the company and to send in their comments of encouragement. If anyone wants to see the working lives of their heroes some more, go click on that follow button on their channel! The relay broadcast ends there, and Mokdai collapses as he says he's tired. You ask if things are over, ask what happened, or ask about what you just did.

Huckle thanks you and everyone for their work and says that was a great battle. He is especially complimentary to you, saying that you showed great skill in the first battle you were in charge of. You start blacking out at this point, which cuts off on him saying something about him being sure that you are their...something.

When you wake back up, Procy welcomes you to the Hero Guild Earth Camp. You express confusion at being here since you were somewhere else just earlier, but Procy brushes it off and says it should be obvious what's happening. Huckle had asked him/you to hire a new hero for a business partnership. Procy then notices that you're looking at him like you've never seen him before and is baffled at that. He tells you you'd better not say you've forgotten him as he gives his name and describes himself as a former super hero and now a generous bar owner. He gets embarrassed for saying it all out loud himself, then tells you to follow him.

Procy leads you to Chaldeas what he calls the Ether Searcher and tells you not to break it. He notes that you don't seem to know how to use it and sighs that he told you not that long ago. But since that's what you're here for, he decides to tell you again, instructing you to stick in the Ether Crystal and focus. Once a Hero has been detected, you call them over using the panel. You either ask some more about this hero detection business or tell Procy you got it. In A and B, Procy is concerned that something may be wrong with you and offers to listen if you want to talk. He comments that it may be better to do so after your tasks are finished. Procy counts out the crystals you have and says it's enough for finding one person at least. He prods you to try since he can't actually use the gacha Ether Searcher himself. No hard feelings about what happens, okay?

After the gacha tutorial, Procy talks to you back at the bar and asks how it went and if you contracted with anyone you liked. He then comments on how strange your power is, at which you start blacking out again. What little gets caught sounds like Procy is talking about something you're able to do, but no details on that.

You eventually wake up in some space station observatory looking area, described as an inorganic space with a ceiling that shows a starry sky as if it were some sort of planetarium. Soon you feel the foot steps of something large approaching you with the waves rumbling through the metal floor to you. You wonder aloud what just happened or wonder about where you are. When you look outside, there's the Earth in all its great big, blue, and bright glory. Then a voice calls out to you, welcoming you back and asking how your first job as an Observer went.

When you turn around, a big black lionish looking guy with white fluttering hair is there. When he meets your eyes, he bows politely. He greets you, welcoming you to This Place and saying he's been waiting for you, the new Observer. You ask who he is and/or ask what an Observer is. The lion only subtly reacts to you speaking, but he continues on without answering your question. In order for you to see how wonderful the power that has been granted to you is, he had arranged to send your consciousness to a possible near future. So how was the simulation of the Observer's power? Was it fun?

You demand that the lion answer your question or react in bafflement. He apologizes for skipping over a few things in trying to tell you about other stuff, then tells you to not worry as he'll get around to answering your question in due time. The lion starts by introducing himself, asking you to call him the Broker (The One Who Exists in Between). He's what you'd commonly know as an alien. Normally he doesn't directly meet with an Observer, but you happen to be special, so he wanted to talk to you directly. He's received a certain request and as such has invited you onto his ship.

You express surprise at the Broker calling himself an alien or wonder if this is some kind of joke. In B, he's slightly taken aback at you disbelieving him and says him making this a joke would be unthinkable. It's not like Earth is the only place with life on it. But he notes that in the universe you lived in, there hasn't been contact with other life yet.

The Broker starts expositing how 180 years ago on this Earth, an unprecedented danger appeared. When all seemed lost, total destruction was averted through the assistance of visitors from outer space...Heroes. On further questioning, the Broker says its the same as the people who show up in the movies in your world.

Now on a different subject, the Broker talk about how a certain threat had appeared, one the people of this world call Kaibutsu. Heroes are the only thing that can stand against them. By borrowing the weapons and armor or powers from a world where one's hopes and dreams have become reality, aka a parallel world, Heroes can stop these monsters who have always arrived from a parallel world. The battle you have just experienced is a battle between Heroes and Kaibutsu.

The place these fights happen occur in the eyes of the public observing them, the cognitions of the masses. By gathering more attention and more cognitions of people, dreams can strengthen them. That's why rubberneckers' attentions are brought over to see and why battles are broadcasted, so more observers can be brought in. In gathering the views of the audience, the Path to the parallel world can be connected, and the heroes can be granted their powers. There's also a third party in play, someone with a stronger power of perception. That is what an Observer is, and that's what you're called here with that power given to you. The Broker smiles ominously as he lids his dark eyes.

The Broker talks about how you (plural) are particularly special because you were Made Out to be that way, different from other Observers. You try to ask about him referring to you in the plural form or about being made the way you are. The Broker figures you want to ask what he did to you, so he tells you that there's nothing to really worry about. You all were originally one being to begin with. All your parallel world selves are put together, that's all it is. It shouldn't hurt you.

The Broker says you should actually be feeling lucky. You are an observer who can see from within and from without, possibly the strongest thing in this universe with the power to shape it as you see fit. The Broker decides to end his explanations there since it wasn't like he came to talk to you on a mere whim. He called you over to fulfill a certain Request. You try to ask him to explain or ask what would happen if you said no. The Broker says he'll be sending you back to "your" home here in this world where you will be living "just as you always have" the way your body remembers. You try to ask what he means by that or ask if that's it.

The Broker confirms that, saying he won't be making a single move as he asks you to act As You See Fit. You can continue with your original work, or you can take the path of supporting heroes professionally. And if you ever decide you hate the world, you can go ahead and send the world down the path to ruin. He bends over, laughing creepily.

Something occurs to the Broker, so he decides to give you a piece of advice out of his consideration for you. Specifically, he advises you to not go around telling people you're an Observer. All he'll say on that is that there's harsher criticism thrown at Observers than there is at super popular Heroes. It could be called a "curse" from a certain point of view, but do try to survive. As long as you meet with a good hero, your life should be surprisingly fun. He hopes you don't die a dog's death eaten by a Kaibutsu.

The Broker silently walks up to you and whispers one last thing to you as he drops the polite tone for a more rougher, casual one, telling you that you have to open the Final Lock. He claps his hands, and everything disappears into a bright light. He fades away into the distance. You try to call out to him or yell out, and the Broker bids you good day and wishes for you to have a good life as an Observer as he calls you by name. There ends the prologue.
