Seaside Fashionista Prologue Part 2

Time skips to the day of the event, the morning of specifically. Summer time has set in and the people walking around the place are reflecting it. The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, and then there’s you two standing around in the middle of all the foot traffic.

Tsathoggua is not a fan of the heat and eventually comments on it. It turns out you two have been waiting around for two hours, and you wonder if it’s because of shop setup. Tsathoggua says he’s normally the one to make other people wait, not be the one waiting for others. You had to wake him up that morning, and Tsathoggua complains about having to use a thousand years’ worth of effort for this.

As you try to calm him down, you hear someone powerwalking towards you guys in high heels. Arachne greets you guys and talks about how routine greetings are basics for the business world. Then she focuses on Tsathoggua and asks if he had a lot of trouble getting all the way here. He says she’s late and that he was getting tired of waiting. By the way he calls her Arachne-chan.

Arachne says she was caught up in getting the store ready, but she thinks it’s cool since the event doesn’t actually start until noon. It’s fine, even if she did say come at 8 and it has to be at least 10 now! Tsathoggua has to point out that the issue here is that she made you two wait for her.

Arachne blows past the complaint and says it’s time to go inside, clacking her heels back the way she came from. While she does look dignified, there is a hint of being flustered that Tsathoggua picks up on. He complains that she acts just like his old roommate back in his home world with how outrageous she gets and how she manipulates him. But there’s something about her that makes him unable to leave her alone. Then he realizes she’s moving too quickly and goes to stop her.

Tsathoggua tells Arachne she needs to exchange introductions with you at least as he rushes to keep up with her. He describes her to you, but Arachne is too preoccupied to follow along. Tsathoggua has to physically pick her up and turn her to face you. When she does look at you, she looks you up and down like she’s scanning you, then finally tunes in to apologize about her manners.

Arachne also gets it into her head to apologize for making Tsathoggua wait at this point too. He says he’s used to spiders who are super workaholics. But as she’s apologizing he’ll forgive her. Then he introduces her to you again. You either comment about her being a businesswoman, politely introduce yourself, or be super casual like “yo gurl good work” or something.

Going B, Arachne reacts positively and says she likes people who mind their manners. It’s part of her fashion brand apparently. She aims for the adult market, and she thinks you might have have the makings for it.

In any case, Arachne notices something about you upon further inspection. She doesn’t actually say what that is, but she likes it. Narration compares it to her suddenly noticing that there’s a pretty flower in front of her. She starts calling you a really ambivalent patchwork and a complex overlay. Very eye grabbing. She throws out words like gold or silver woven threads, sequins, and star sand. Whatever it is, it’s haute couture.

Arachne says she might just go berserk and whip something up to pull out all the things hidden inside you. She turns to Tsathoggua and asks whether he thinks you could be the sharpest dressed person ever. He doesn’t really understand what she’s asking of him, but he says if she likes you then that’s cool. People complimenting you makes him happy too.

Anyways Tsathoggua suggests you guys go inside already since they have exclusive honey drinks. As he slowly walks over, one of the guards stops him to say there’s a dress code for anyone going in as a guest. And the dress code here is dress suits and evening dresses. He’s shocked to hear that and says that’s why he hates having to go to these events. He has to mull it over to himself whether the drinks are worth having to dress up in formal wear.

Arachne comments on his problem, then says his shirt is unique. Gyumao shows up and suggests she show her skills and make something for him then. You can then greet him and say it’s been a while, thank him for looking around and call him president, or ask to touch his chest.

Going A, he greets you back and says it’s good that you’re doing well. And if you’re gonna be his business partner one day, you have to study hard and play hard. Arachne is surprised you know both Tsathoggua and Gyumao, and she remembers that Hakumen likes you too.

Arachne puts that thought aside and goes back to what Gyumao said to her and asks him to explain. He says that since Tsathoggua is the biggest shareholder and sponsor of the event, if Arachne were to make something for him she could raise her profile.

Arachne stands up at that, and the two look at each other for a moment. Arachne breaks the silence first, then agrees to do it. She seems to consider doing it from the ground up, but Gyumao interrupts to ask her to make it ASAP. There’s also some specified cloth and thread already prepped for it too.

Arachne takes offense and asks if Gyumao is telling her to not make something under her brand. He says she’s a pro, so she should be able to work with customer requests. He also taunts her by asking if she’s suggesting it’s too hard to do. She smiles boldly and drops the prologue title, saying she’ll take his challenge. Then she asks if all the work tools and materials are ready for her too.

Gyumao says they are and says they should get Tsathoggua’s measurements. Arachne says she doesn’t need them because she already has them or his ‘form’ already in her head. It’ll probably take her two hours to finish it, which should be enough time. Tsathoggua complains about not wanting to wear a suit since they’re too tight. Arachne says it’ll be fine and that her clothes will always be a perfect fit.

Arachne is about to leave when Tsathoggua stops her and whispers something to her. She says extra additions have extra charges before asking him to not breathe on her ears. But anyways Tsathoggua asks her to do something specific if she can swing it. She’s confused by this because she thinks it’s something she should naturally do. When asked if she means it, she says it’s not something to be concerned about with her clothes. Tsathoggua then starts getting excited about it.

Gyumao decides it’s time for him to get back to his work and tells you guys to talk to him if you need anything. Arachne heads to her work area while you hang around in a break area with Tsathoggua, both of which were put up in an instant at Gyumao’s command.

Later in some dressing room, you either wonder whether clothes can be made that fast or be amazed that pros apparently don’t need to take measurements. Gyumao says that Arachne is an exceptional artist, though apparently she had some issue with Hakumen not long ago. He also tells you that he has a secret project in checking out her growth hack as he winks at you. His smile is compared to someone pulling a prank.

Anyways Arachne is done with her work and asks Tsathoggua to come with her. He comes back out later in his suit, then asks what you think. You can either say it’s cool, cute, or be weird and drool over his stomach lines. Going with A, he’s surprised and happy about that as he flaps his ears and tries out some poses.

Gyumao seems impressed, and Arachne asks what he thinks. She talks about the charm brought out by the selected design and the overwhelming sensibility. She also talks about using the materials to their utmost and the thread work. It’s got the greatest synergy between the clothes and the wearer, and she flatters herself about how perfect it is.

As she’s ranting about it, Gyumao whispers to himself almost inaudible to anyone else. You can barely hear it since you’re standing next to him. Gyumao then hides what he was thinking and smiles at Arachne, then says it’s perfect and asks her to keep the mood up in the shop.

Arachne acts like she has the thing in the bag, but then remembers something she almost forgot. She pays no attention to what Gyumao has said and pulls out her phone to tap at it. Arachne also prompts you to help too. You gotta promote the masterpieces as you make them!

You guys go outside to take pictures of Tsathoggua and his new suit. In order to bring in the customers, Arachne says you should add a hashtag to the picture. #summosnap is a go! Tsathoggua asks you to take pictures with his phone too since he wants to show Hanuman and the others. Then he notices something new with the My Guild function. Arachne comments on the addition of stickers.

Gyumao suggests you try playing around with the sticker function. Arachne says you guys should get going already and walks off. Tsathoggua sighs about finally being able to enter and says you guys should head to the shop. He follows along after Arachne looking like it’s the biggest pain in the butt. You run after them, remembering what Gyumao was talking about to himself while you’re at it.

Flashback kicks in, and we see what Gyumao was saying. The suit came out just like he expected, though he comments that Arachne seems to have grasped his challenge in a different way. He wonders if she can see the limits of her fashion in this opportunity. And so the episode ends.
