Ueno Fluffy Dream Kingdom Epilogue Part 1

The epilogue starts up with an auto scrolling recap of everything that’s happened so far. As a reminder: Ueno Academy hosted a picture book workshop that you decided to attend. That very first night you get stuck in a dream world and go through three different dreams. In each dream you find and wake the dreamer, then head back to reality. After all that settles, each team gets back to work making their picture books and we pick back up with the third day of the workshop.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called Workshop Ending!

We tune back to the present as Alp says our book is finished, and he adds that he thought we wouldn’t make it in time. The book has been put up on the wall, and there’s a sigh of both relief and exhaustion. Cu Sith says he’s tired too, commenting he never thought coloring would take so much out of him.

Alp agrees, saying Cu Sith almost fell asleep working on it. Cu Sith says he woke up early to make up for it and work on things. He then turns it around and says Alp looked so grumpy that morning that it was hard to approach him. Alp says he’s a night owl while Cu is a morning person. You then either tell Alp or Cu Sith that they did good.

Going A, Alp thanks you and says the same thing to you. He thinks it’s great that he could work on this together with you all the way to the end. He then talks about how nice it is to work with someone to make a dream take solid form as a picture book. Up until now he feels like he’s never really put any thought into his dream. But now he’s learned a bit about putting it into words and art.

By borrowing someone else’s words and layering it with another’s dream, he feels like he can clearly see the comparisons and contrasts. He’s never done it before coming to Tokyo so he was confused about it, but now he understands trust a bit.

Alp then says that the closing party will be happening after this and says you guys should party all night. Catering has been set up in the middle and everyone is having fun talking with each other and looking at each other’s books. The supervisor alchemist says things were later than planned because of trouble the other day, but he’s glad things managed to get back on schedule by the end.

His Stand says everyone did good and tells you all to eat and have fun. The alchemist agrees and says the event will be ending after the party, so everyone can take their time to relax and compliments you guys for job well done one more time.

Leib comes over to talk to you guys, which Cu Sith is happy about. You thank him for yesterday and/or say he did great as the school nurse. Leib comments that you all worked hard, then complains about all the stuff happening yesterday and how sleepy he is. If he weren’t doing this he’d be lounging in his room.

Cu Sith chides Leib for talking about passing off on fun stuff and shutting himself in his room, then says Leib is hopeless without him. Leib humors him and agrees. You then say making the picture book was fun or invite Leib to join in next time.

Going B, Leib says that if ever he’s bored of doing nothing then maybe he might do something with you. And if it happens he’s gonna dump all the work on you. Anyways Cu Sith says it was rough being tired partway through, but by seeing the finished product it really was fun. Leib smiles and says if you guys had fun then that’s nice, then turns to Alp.

Alp says he enjoyed it, but he did cause problems for people. As Cu Sith’s memory was wiped of the first night, he asks what happened then. Alp tells him all his dreams were eaten by his Dream Eating so he doesn’t remember what went on in the dream world. You say your memory of it is hazy too, like parts of it are missing. You still remember most of it though.

Alp says everyone else remembers less of what happened, then adds that he has nothing to do with that. Still he wonders what went on himself. Leib says he should press Jambavan about that, and you express surprise that he’s bringing him up. Leib waves it off as internal guild matters, nothing important.

Leib sighs and says he gets how Jambavan thinks through this incident. He also says Jambavan’s so busy because of that side job he tries to keep secret from him and the guild. He figures he should punish him a bit and make him spill about things. The topic reminds Leib of something, so he tells Alp that after tomorrow he’ll take him to see the Beast Tamers guildmaster. Alp agrees and says he’ll take care so this doesn’t happen again.

Leib says he’s already contacted them. The guildmaster (who he refers to as that nitwit) replied that they’ll definitely come to welcome him. Leib also tried to get them to come in for closed environment experiments, but they noped out of it by transforming and running off. Because of that Leib has to act as sub guildleader and sighs over the bother.

You try to ask what he’s talking about, and Cu Sith excitedly tells you that Alp has joined the Beast Tamers. Alp gives a basic explanation about the guild being based in Ueno, then says that Leib called him over to talk about things yesterday because of his incident causing.

Flashback ensues as Leib says he has important things to talk about. Alp sweats over being brought to the school gates and wonders if Leib is angry with him. Leib has to deny it and says he said as much the other day. But anyways he came to talk to him about his artifact. Alp asks if he means his hat.

Leib confirms he means that as the thing that caused everything that happened. Alp asks some more saying he uses it normally to feed himself by going into dreams. He wonders why it wouldn’t shut off since he’s done that plenty of times before. It even does that automatically if he falls asleep inside a dream. When he ate your dream he felt full and conked out, and when he woke up in the Library world he freaked out about it not working as normal so he thought it was an overworld shift.

Leib says he isn’t wrong. It’s just that that wasn’t all that was happening. Leib thought it was an overworld shift at first, but in actuality Alp has created a second layer with his artifact. He also brings up that Alp said he never used it on a lot of people before. That’s a risk Alp didn’t know about.

When asked about that, Leib asks Alp how he sets up his boundaries for switching dreams and reality around. Alp says he walks around his target to set up a position, then uses his artifact. In the space he marked out the dream compresses then expands. If it’s not an enclosed space he can’t use it. That’s when the penny drops for him.

Leib notes that Alp seems to have had a lightbulb moment. Alp admits that Cu Sith left the door open that night he went out, and Alp thought it was okay since the whole school was closed up. Thinking on it some more he realizes that still fits all his conditions. Leib agrees saying that since Alp goes to Ueno he’s probably walked all over the place. But it’s because of that so many people were affected.

Alp tries to say that even if that’s all true it doesn’t explain why he couldn’t turn off his artifact. His hat is supposed to act as a key to switch around the worlds, and he reasons that if that many people were affected there should also be that many people in the dream world.

Leib says that it has to do with his home world and asks him how many years it’s been since he came to Tokyo. Alp is confused by this, so Leib changes it to days. Leib also asks how he picked up on fashions and overworlds so quickly. He then says it’s not like he knows everything since there’s too many mysteries surrounding overworld shifts.

Leib decides to cite an example about the time Tokyo’s mountains were shifted with five mountains from other worlds. Those were Wa no Kuni’s Mt. Inohanadake, Mt. Kurama, Mt. Ooe, Hourai’s Mt. Penglai, and Kitezh’s Bald Mountain.

Leib says that even though the core for that shift has been removed, they’re still there. Alp notices the connection to the dream incident. Leib says that among researchers that study shifts there’s one theory going around. It suggests that those mountains are being incorporated to a legend from Hourai about there being five sacred mountains. In other words, there was another Transient brought in by the mountains hiding and living in Mt. Penglai acting as another core.

Leib says some of the Berserkers’ higher ups may have noticed that and sent in some investigators, according to rumors.  He says there’s some credibility to them, and the reason for that is because knowing how overworld shifts work tie in heavily to how Tokyo exists as it does now. Leib also calls the Berserkers as obsessed with learning how Tokyo is constructed.

Leib then connects the topic to how Tokyo is overlaid with 23 other worlds and how there are 23 cores in the center. And if you want to look for that... Alp interrupts to ask if the centered core for the dream shift is who he thinks it is. Leib is surprised at how fast Alp is on the uptake, then says that by all appearances it’s him. It was his regrets and the views he couldn’t forget that made up the dream shift. And it was made by pulling in the others’ dreams.

Leib says that the dream couldn’t be resolved until Alp’s regrets were cleared up. He then moves on and says that Alp might cause a problem again if he uses his power, and that Alp shouldn’t be barging into other people’s privacy anyways since they may have hidden baggage they want to keep secret.

Alp worries about what to do since he’s reflecting on what happened and doesn’t want a repeat. But if he doesn’t go into the dream world he’ll starve. Leib starts talking about Alp’s future course, and Alp mildly freaks thinking he’s gonna die. He also asks if he’s going to be sent to prison. Leib has to deny that and asks just how awfully Alp thinks of him.

Alp says Leib is always glaring and lecturing him, so Leib says that while he does lecture, everything else is Alp jumping to conclusions. He then says that while he doesn’t think Alp is going to cause a Thing every time he uses his power, he does need some management. As such, he invites him into the Beast Tamers.

Alp notes that Cu Sith is also a part of the guild. Leib says that the guild does have a function in regards to the app, but it also uses the scientific approach to investigate Tokyo’s secrets. There’s a bunch of guild members in who worry about their artifacts who do research and come up with countermeasures for them. If Alp joins, Leib says he can figure out how to feed himself and not need to hide it. Then he asks what he’ll do.

Alp asks if they’ll accept him since he was hated in his home world. Leib points out that he decided to remake himself and live true to himself. Alp says he understands and wants to learn more about his artifact, then asks to join the Beast Tamers.

Flashback ends, and you either say Alp has been accepted or congratulate his joining a guild. Alp thanks you and says that the popular really do speak differently. Because of what happened he’s been able to see himself in a new light and understood his real wish. He hasn’t clearly figured himself out yet, but he’s stopped lying to himself. He wants to be kind like Kuniyoshi, determined like Durga, and able to rest like Jambavan and challenge things.

Alp says he also feels that who he was before now wasn’t a lie either. The way he admired the popular and the way he made himself up was also himself, and he says he feels like he can keep going on with his panda body. Not that he has much of a choice anyways as he says he can’t take off his bracelet to undo his transformation.

But anyways he intends to chase his dream of becoming a star again. He announces himself as Alp, the cute hip hop panda. You either tell him you support him or say you like him. In A he thanks you.

Leib sighs about how Alp doesn’t understand much about his artifact. A normal transformation can be undone by turning off the app. And if that doesn’t work, then what’s really going on with the bracelet is... Leib stops there and says he figures Alp will work it out eventually, then says he’ll have to train him as a kouhai.

Alp suggests going to look at everyone else’s books because he wants to know what they came up with. Cu Sith agrees and suggests starting with Kuniyoshi’s since he’s interested in theirs. Alp goes with that idea and invites you and Leib to come along, and Leib says he will join us. You agree to and/or wonder what an art school team would make.

As you guys go, you hear some voices coming from that direction. Licht tries to get Benten and Kuniyoshi to calm down since everyone is staring. Kuniyoshi says it’s not just him and says Licht sucks at dividing things up. Benten responds by yelling that she doesn’t sound like a bomb going off and accuses him of not having an eye for art.

Kuniyoshi says the product’s concept is meandering and confused, just like *someone’s life.* Benten says she took something boring and fixed it up to be exciting in multiple ways. She also asks what fluffing is supposed to be and says it’s not that different from what he already does. The times they are a cold and changing thing. Stay in one place and you’ll get left behind.

Kuniyoshi fires back that Benten can’t even focus on one thing, calling her excitable and flighty. Licht attempts to stop things as his headache comes back to haunt him. Everyone else is shocked that they’re arguing. Cu Sith asks if something happened since they seemed to be on good terms the day before. Leib suggests it might just be that Japanese thing where fighting is a sign of closeness.

Alp says it might be that, but from looking at their work he says that might not be that easily understood. He flips through and says it’s an incoherent mess. The pictures are great, but they don’t fit the actual story and the individual points clash. Leib agrees and says the book encapsulates their incompatibility. Cu Sith wonders why since what he first heard was decent. Now the minister is rocking out.

Alp questions Cu Sith’s usage of rocking out as wrong and hamfisted. Cu Sith says he knows and tries to remember. He heard it means it’s a declaration of rebellion. When asked what that means, Cu Sith doesn’t know. Anyways you either try to intervene or ask Licht if he’s okay.

Going A, Kuniyoshi apologizes for fighting in public. He feels he shouldn’t be doing that when he’s surrounded by all the cute therians. Alp says he was worried Kuniyoshi would be depressed, but he’s glad he seems fine. Kuniyoshi says he thinks he can smile like that because everyone forgave each other the other day.

Alp says that since it was his fault, he wanted to apologize to anyone who remembered the dream world. It’s supposed to be his fault, yet everyone else apologized too. I don’t really know why. Anyways you either tell Alp you forgive him or tell him no one blames him.

Alp tries to argue that if he didn’t sneak into your dream it wouldn’t have happened, but Licht stops him and says he never intended to hurt anyone. That’s why everyone let it go. Leib agrees and says Alp should smile and act as himself. Cu Sith adds that if you smile for real, no one will be sad.

Alp decides to smile so that no one will have to worry. Kuniyoshi agrees since this was a chance to encourage everyone’s creativity. He’s already excited to go make his next book, though he’s sad one copy of the event picture book has been sabotaged. Benten takes issue with this immediately.

Kuniyoshi decides to shrug it off as the event is over, so he can just make his next work when he goes home. He has so many ideas he thinks he’ll be up all night for a while, and Cu Sith says he’s excited to see what he’ll do. Kuniyoshi thanks him and says he’ll try to make sure Cu Sith will enjoy that one too. Benten chimes in saying she’s got her own next work ready to go, and you say you look forward to it or ask to see it when it’s done.

Kuniyoshi thanks you and says he’ll give you a copy when it’s done, then asks you to tell him what you think when you finish with it. Benten says she doesn’t mind and that she’ll force it on you even if you don’t want it. Licht joins in and says something about his next work, but he gets interrupted by other voices coming to talk as the episode ends.
