Valentine Festival! Prologue

Scene starts off at Shinjuku Chuo Park as a new Transient is summoned to Tokyo. Ziz’s silhouette appears, disoriented from the move and holding her head. After a bit she notices someone to the side. She calls out, asking who’s there and if they’ll tell her where she is.

No one answers, but Ziz’s eyes eventually adjust, so she looks at whoever it is. She’s astonished to see who it is, and I assume it’s Behemoth. She cries saying she thought she’d never see them again because of something that happened to them all. Ziz says she doesn’t care where this is anymore, and that this time she will...

Title card pops up, and the prologue has a title for once. This one is called The Strange, Strange Pair.

Scene skips back to school. Some swordsman is giving chocolate to a wolf mob senpai, who gives him something in return. A girl gives another one some candy and an extra thing, which turns out to be a hair pin. Some other wolf is *vibrating* because a shadow mermaid gave him some chocolates, and she has to tell him to calm down.

Ryouta is off to the side commenting on how it sure is Valentine’s and how happy people are. He’s okay with it all, whether it be chocolate for friends, chocolates to be nice, or whatever. Kengo says the hallways are filled with people exchanging gifts too.

Moritaka says the first time he saw all this he was confused, but he thinks it’s a good chance to express thanks and positivity. Touji thinks people are getting too into it though. He won’t deny that celebrations are part of government, but if it’s about love and you want to keep it secret you may as well send flowers.

You either say it’s nice how people are enjoying themselves, say you’re surprised at how open people are, or be grumpy like Aizen and say Valentine’s should be destroyed. In A Ryouta agrees, and in B Shirou mentions lots of Transients are surprised at first before mentioning there should be similar customs elsewhere.

Anyways Kengo will he’s glad Valentine’s means he can just eat chocolate out in the open. Ryouta complains that he’s eating into some shared pile that’s has some for everyone, and Kengo says it’s only a little bit. Moritaka says he bought some Seven Colored Manju and offers to share them at lunch. Shirou brought a cake he tried making, and the choices excite Ryouta. He doesn’t even know where to begin.

Shirou says he’s obligated to remind people to not be too noisy. Ryouta says he knows, then gives him a grab bag of candy for the Evils. They seem happy, and Touji seems to be thinking of something.

Some time later, Kengo says he wants to go get something salty after having something sweet so he’ll be going outside. Ryouta decides to join him because he wants snacks for when everyone eats. Shirou sighs but tells them to be back before class starts. Ryouta says they will, then says you should come too.

You can either agree, ask about being taken along, or wonder if any yakisoba bread is left. Going with B, Ryouta suggests buying tons of candy for an after school party. Then you guys go as Shirou sorta talks to himself about how excitable the guys are.

Touji starts talking to him, and Shirou initially thinks this is about keeping you guys in check. Touji actually has some sort of request of him though, to his surprise.

Out in the hallway Kengo is running down ready to bowl over anyone in the way. Ryouta is struggling to keep up, and Kengo tells him to pick up the pace or else breakfast will be over. If nothing else the sweet buns will be sold out quick. Ibaraki notices you guys and starts talking. He has some milk and a melon bread.

Shuten is with him, and he warns Kengo to not run so much or else Jinn will come running for him. He’s unimpressed by this, then asks if they’re coming back from the cafeteria. He also comments that they haven’t taken much with them, which Ryouta also asks about.

Ibaraki is about to complain to you guys and tell you all about it, but Shuten thinks it’s more interesting and aesthetic for you guys to see for yourselves. Ryouta wonders if Chouji is going to unveil a new secret move or something, and Ibaraki is baffled he’d even think that.

Kengo speaks up and says you guys should hurry, so he goes. Ryouta stays behind long enough to give some hand some candy bags to Ibaraki and Shuten. Ibaraki is shocked by this while Shuten thanks him and says he’ll get him something later. You leave then too and say happy Valentine’s.

Shuten comments on how lively you guys are, then asks why Ibaraki is making a face. Turns out Ibaraki has been trying to find an opportunity all morning to give something to Shuten and is mad Ryouta just did it so smoothly.

Scene then moves to the school cafeteria as Kengo wonders if anything is left and finds some posters or something. Ryouta comes in and asks if anything is there, but somehow everything is sold out to your shock. Ryouta says he at least wants to get some juice from the vending machines.

Kengo tells him that *everything* in the cafeteria is out. Ingredients for lunch and dinner, the vending machines, even the school store’s stuff so they’re closed for the day. Ryouta is shocked by this and asks what they’ll do for lunch then. You can either be mildly concerned this happened, ask if this is what Shuten was talking about, or demand to know who did this.

Going with C, Ryouta agrees and says you guys should ask Chouji since he should be here manning the place today. Kengo says that’s unnecessary and points to the middle of the room. Behemoth is there stuffing himself to the point the room seems cramped.

Behemoth either doesn’t hear anything else or doesn’t care about anything else as he keeps going. Kengo asks if he’s a student here since he’s never seen him before. You either ask who he is, wonder if he did something to Chouji, or say you want to be held by his fat body.

Going with A, Kengo tells you guys to be ready because he hears something off. Ryouta thinks it’s just Behemoth’s eating and notices all the plates. Kengo insists it’s something else and tells him not to move. A depressed voice says it’s fine and tells you Behemoth is harmless.

Ryouta recognizes it as Chouji and asks where he is. He answers, and he’s sorta blocked by Behemoth. Ryouta asks what happened, and Chouji says Behemoth ate it all. He’s in disbelief that Behemoth could eat through all of his Super★Three Day Chinese Feast, which Kengo thinks is some super move. Ryouta explains that it’s a sort of course where you keep making food until whoever you’re making it for says they’ve had enough.

Ryouta is upset because Chouji once told him he’d do it for him first. Some rumbling starts, and Kengo tells Chouji to come over while he tells you to grab Ryouta and duck. Ryouta doesn’t get what’s happening but complies. You either tell him to grab you, say you get what that earlier sound is, or say you don’t know either but go along with it. A loud cracking sound resounds as the chair Behemoth is sitting in breaks, and he falls to the floor.

Behemoth is unperturbed by this and continues eating some dessert and drinks some tea. Tea that Chouji apparently put out for him because Kengo asks why he’s doing so. Chouji says it’s important to finish things properly as a cook, no matter how tired you get. Then he asks if Behemoth is satisfied from his cooking.

Behemoth doesn’t actually answer, but Chouji figures it out anyway. He’s put out that the answer is no. The bell rings, and Kengo complains there isn’t even any bread. Ryouta for his part laments that all he has for the day is candy.

Kengo turns to Chouji and asks what he’ll do, offering to carry him to class. He says he’ll go after figuring out some food arrangements, so Ryouta says they’ll let the teacher know and tells him to get some rest.

Back in the hallway Kengo hurries you guys on, though Ryouta isn’t holding up very well. You ask him what’s wrong, so he says he thinks Chouji seems different today, maybe a bit quiet. Kengo says Chouji often talks about not getting enough sleep. You can either agree or say you should keep going back to class. Kengo will say it if you don’t.

Ryouta tries to keep up, and you can either tell him to keep at it or tell him to stop because there’s someone ahead. He almost crashes into Ziz and apologizes for that, and she laughs it off. You can then either apologize, wonder who she is, or say she’s pretty.

In any case Ziz walks off, at which point Ryouta decides to ask if she’s part of the school. Kengo yells at him to move his ass, and you guys run on. Back in the classroom Moritaka asks if Ryouta is okay and gives him some water. His head is still spinning.

It turns out that you and Kengo have at some point decided to throw Ryouta at each other to carry him along faster, which Touji is incredulous about. Seems to be Kengo’s idea when he threatened to ditch Ryouta in the halls, and he says he did the soft sort of underhand throwing. You say you had no idea what was happening for a sec until Ryouta came hurtling at you, or comment that it was easier admittedly.

Shirou is shocked by this whole thing and says that if Mononobe wasn’t running late he’d be glaring at you guys. Ryouta in turn freaks out over the point of it all then. Shirou is about to say more, though Mononobe comes in at that point.

Mononobe asks Shirou to do the Japanese classroom formalities, and after that’s done he tells the class he was late because of some newcomers coming. Ryouta is excited about this, and Mononobe brings them in quickly.

Behemoth and Ziz both come in, and you either comment that Behemoth seems kinda familiar or say you recognize Ziz. Mononobe introduces Behemoth first as a new student and then Ziz as a new student teacher. He also mentions they came from the same world as he turns to Ziz.

Ziz confirms this, describing the two of them as childhood friends. There was one more, but she doesn’t say anything else on that. You express either interest or mild envy at the thought of childhood friendship. Kengo says it’s not that good since they’re naggy, at which point Shirou starts pinching him or something.

Mononobe moves along and says that since the two of them haven’t been around for long, he wants everyone in class to help them if they have any problems. The class applauds for them, and Mononobe asks Behemoth to say something.

Behemoth sniffs around, and Ziz asks Mononobe to step back as Behemoth is about to talk. He complies, though he says Behemoth is acting strange. Behemoth then yells about being hungry, jumping over the podium with a crazed look in his eyes and bee lining for Ryouta.

Shirou yells out that Behemoth is trying to get at the candy in Ryouta’s hands, and Kengo tells him to throw it since he’s carrying so much. Ryouta refuses to let go since there won’t be any lunch, and Touji is impressed that Ryouta is fending Behemoth off so well despite his hands being full. He even thinks Ryouta might be some secret martial arts master.

You either comment that Ryouta is amazing when food is on the line or say Touji has weird priorities. Moritaka says you guys have to help him, so Kengo calls to you and says you two will restrain Behemoth. Mononobe just sighs, then asks Ziz what she’s doing. She asks him to wait since timing is important to making tea. A timer chimes, and Ziz says her three minute cooking starts now.

Ziz then pulls out a huge basket from somewhere filled to the brim with sandwiches, then pours the tea as its aroma fills the room. Behemoth stops as he notices, and Ryouta comments on the smells too. Ziz waves Ryouta over, then tosses her basket of deluxe sandwiches at Behemoth.

Both of them run for the basket and start eating, and Ryouta comments on the familial style cooking what with the cheese slices. Ziz says there’s plenty so they should calm down, then offers her tea. She turns to Mononobe and apologizes for how much of a mess Behemoth makes when he’s hungry. If he acts up again she asks that she be called over to calm him down.

Mononobe passes that along to the class, and you either acknowledge this obediently, say you want Ziz to feed you too, or comment that Mononobe isn’t that ruffled by what’s happening. Going with C, he says he’s been a teacher for a while, so this is minor in his experience.

Mononobe decides to move things along with class and asks Ziz to watch from the side. Shirou comments that Behemoth won’t be an issue if he’s fed, and Behemoth says Ziz’s sandwiches are great. Ziz tells him to do his best in class, since they decided to do so “here.” Kengo wonders if Behemoth is different from who they saw earlier.

Scene skips later on to you and Ryouta visiting Chouji in the nurse’s office. You ask if he’s okay, ask if anything happened, or say his fevered face looks cute too. Going with A, Ryouta says you were worried too. In any case Ryouta says he heard from everyone about how busy Chouji has been lately and wishes he noticed sooner.

You ask what he means, so Ryouta tells you that Chouji gets asked to make sweets by a bunch of people when Valentine’s rolls around. Chernobog helps so there’s more hands than usual, but he still got a lot more orders this time around. He’s fine with it though. He’s more shocked that his food wasn’t enough for Behemoth.

It was a little humbling, but Chouji seems inspired to work harder on his confection making. He thanks you two for coming, then tells you guys there’s an event coming up where he’s giving them out. He then gives you some complimentary tickets to the thing, the titular Valentine Festival Sweets Road.

The thing lasts from Valentines to White Day and Chouji describes it as a big gourmet event. He also has tickets for everyone, and says he thinks it should be fun since there are other sweets there and a handmade sweets corner. You can either say you’re excited for Chouji’s stuff, express interest in all the stores there, or express interest in the handmade sweets corner.

Going with A, Chouji says he’ll be bringing a lot over there. Anyways he’ll be going back to the cafeteria and thanks you guys for coming. He then remembers he needs to get ingredients, at which point Zaou walks in.

He has a huge mound of stuff for him to use, saying the best quality stuff is from the mountain’s bounty. Motosumi shows up too helping to carry stuff. He was up training in the mountains when Zaou just showed up. But anyways he’s here because he was promised half of it as payment.

Scene shifts to the front of the school buildings as you regroup with the gang. Touji says you and Ryouta are late, and Kengo asks about Chouji. Ryouta says he’s not back to normal yet, then says Chouji will be going to the cafeteria then the dorms. You notice Moritaka is not there, so you ask about him.

Kengo says Moritaka had to leave early because he had things to do, adding he seemed to be running away, unusually. Shirou suggests going back, offering to make dinner tonight since Chouji is busy. Ryouta is excited by this, and Kengo says you guys should get back quick since there was no lunch because of that one Transient.

Shirou points out that Behemoth is behind him. You can either greet him or forget his name. He asks for your names so you introduce yourself, and everyone takes turns to follow suit. Ryouta asks if he’s also part of the dorms, but Behemoth is actually there to talk.

Behemoth says he wants to apologize for that morning, which Ryouta interprets to be about the classroom scuffle and waves it off. Kengo teases Ryouta for having a grumbling stomach and crying at lunchtime. Behemoth explains that he loses his head whenever he gets hungry, even back in his home world.

Ryouta sympathizes, saying when he gets too hungry he eats that ham in the fridge. Behemoth asks if he’s ever come too to find he’s eaten up his lodgings too, and Ryouta in shock says he never went that far. Touji is surprised at the problems Transients can have, and Shirou says he needs to talk to Ryouta about that ham because it was a present.

Ziz walks over and greets everyone, and Ryouta asks if she’s going home too. She jokes to Behemoth about him making friends already, and he says she’s late. She says she had a lot to learn on her first day. Also she was scolded about making too much tea. Shirou says it was surprising when she started doing that earlier that day in class, which she apologizes for.

Anyways she turns to Behemoth and says it’s time to go, asking him to come to the supermarket with her. He asks that she makes hamburgers tonight. You either ask if they’re living together or ask about their relationship. Going with A, Ziz says she’s currently the only one who understands what Behemoth wants. She also says the two of them are in the same boat.

Kengo doesn’t understand the big words she’s using, so she tells him not to worry about it. Ziz also mentions them having close origins, though Behemoth stops her from saying any more by saying he’s getting hungry. Then the two of them say their goodbyes to the gang.

The gang say their own goodbye, with Kengo suggesting going to the cafeteria together next time, while Shirou offers to help if they need it.

Scene then skips to later that night in your room as your phone rings. You pick up and it turns out that Barguest is calling. He has a huge favor to ask and wants to know if you’ll hear him out at least. And there the episode ends.
