Onsen Jamboree Prologue Part 1

Things begin with a pillar of light shining in Tokyo as the Gates open up to connect with one of the other worlds. In short, a Transient has arrived from somewhere. Camera then focuses at the Aoyama graveyard where Kimun Kamui has arrived. HIs first words upon coming to is to ask what happened with his body and to ask where the children he was to attend to went. He looks around and takes a deep breath, quickly acclimating himself and putting his guard up.

Kimun eventually says he knows someone is there and states that the only things that can shake him are the wind and the earth, so they may as well show themselves before things get rough. Jacob reveals himself, saying he doesn't intend to hurt him and to ask Kimun to put his fists down. Kimun takes a second to consider Jacob's words about not being an enemy, then asks to confirm that he's not in Kamuy Kotan.

Jacob explains that they are in Tokyo, which he describes as a ring where lost lambs gather and communicate with love and fists. Arslan and Maria walk up at this point, and Jacob realizes he hasn't introduced himself yet. He does so, followed by Maria who also adds in that she's part of the Aoyama guild. Kimun is confused by the terms Aoyama and guild, so Maria explains that they are the Missionaries, the guild based in Aoyama Tokyo that acts in the name of love and service. Jacob adds that he used to be in the guild and is now visiting home.

Kimun is further confused by the words Tokyo and Missionaries and still doesn't understand what a guild is, and Maria says it's natural for him to be confused since he was just summoned over. Kimun eventually decides to ask why the three came to see him, so Arslan answers they came to offer him some help. He's free to turn them down if he likes, though Arslan assures him that they mean no harm. Maria tries to get him to pick his words better, but Jacob says being direct works sometimes too. He compares this to infighting with an opponent and going for an upper cut without worrying about being countered, then asks if she gets it.

Maria doesn't, but Kimun says he does as he notes that he senses no lies in what they're saying. Maria says that their guild aims to have hearts of service that share love with people who are lost, worried, or suffering. Kimun is shocked by the words love and service, then interprets that to mean that the Missionaries also guide children using those qualities. He agrees to trust them.

Arslan turns to Maria and Jacob and asks them to let him handle Kimun. Jacob is fine with the idea but comments on how odd it is for him to do so, saying he might have less time for oil wrestling. Arslan is fine with it and says he's curious as to what kind of wish would bring a straightforward guy like him to Tokyo. Arslan turns back to Kimun and introduces himself before asking who Kimun is. Kimun gives his name, then describes himself as a messenger from the heavens who lives in Kamuy Kotan and gives charity to children so that they may live.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is just called Prologue.

Camera then tunes in at Shinjuku Academy with Mononobe thanking Shirou for helping and apologizing for putting some routine work on him while it's lunch time. Shirou waves the concern off and says he put the posters up as asked. Shirou also reports that he's collected all the Japanese class notebooks of everyone in class, aside from one person. Mononobe laughs that Shirou has everything in order, which lets him relax a little as he handles the other class stuff. Shirou finds that encouraging and says the whole class has been cooperative...aside from one person. Shirou then takes the moment to excuse himself since the gang is waiting for him.

Mononobe thanks Shirou for his work, then comments on him hanging out with you guys after school all the time doing something or other before asking if Shirou takes the lead there too. Shirou is surprised by the question as he tells him that you are the leader while he acts as an assistant. Mononobe finds this surprising, enough so that Shirou comments on his reaction and that he's spilling his coffee.

Some time later Mononobe is thinking to himself. Ziz walks up to him to comment on his jaw dropping and hands him another cup of coffee. Mononobe thanks her, and Ziz starts talking about the poster Shirou put up as she comments on not having heard of the event listed on it much before. Mononobe says Shirou said the same thing to him, though it was a much bigger thing when he was younger. He indulges in some nostalgia as he sips his coffee.

Triton walks over to talk about how surprised he is since he heard the earlier conversation. He figured Shirou was your guys' leader too. Jinn says he thinks Shirou is qualified as he talks about how popular he is and his ability to pull other people along with his actions. Triton scoffs saying Jinn understands nothing about Shirou, and he mentions that the way he runs around everywhere concerns him. Jinn laughs at him for being a worrywart and suggests he trust the students more. Triton calls Jinn too offhands with things and says that's why he can't trust him with stuff. Jinn gets offended at this.

Camera shifts over to Shirou, who thinks aloud about how he's never thought about being the leader ever since you came here. Scene then shifts back to the classroom, where Ryouta is singing about the camp jamboree with the Evils. Kengo complains that hardtack, cup ramen, and bagged food is being served for lunch and is more emergency rations than anything. Ryouta attempts to calm him down by saying it's fine on occasion. Also rations have become a lot more tasty and filling recently.
Meanwhile, Behemoth is stuffing his face and talking about how great everything tastes. Ryouta says there was a lot earlier, but now Behemoth has eaten through about half of it all. Midway through he notices Behemoth get up, and Behemoth goes over to Chouji to ask if he can take some food to Ziz. Chouji is happy to let him do so since sharing food is their love. Behemoth thanks him and promises to share some food with him next time.

You comment on all the different foods available and are lost for choice, and/or ask where it all came from. Chouji says it's stuff that's distributed by the Missionaries. They usually hand it out at events, but Arslan asked Chouji for a sample for a taste test. Touji for some bizarre reason thinks to ask if he was tasting for poison, alarming Chouji into insisting it was just a taste test and that nothing dangerous is in the food.

Flustered, Touji accepts the food and observes that they're some really cold rice balls. Ryouta explains that these rice balls are made with rice boiled in water (but isn't that normal?), but while it is cold he assures him the rice is springy and delicious. Toujin finds that interesting and agrees to go along with it.

Ryouta points out that there's also cup ramen types that Kengo likes, like tonkatsu and Chinese BBQ pork. Kengo blusters about how he totally has to join you guys now. Chouji brings up that he also made some bento if you guys want it. Touji observes that Chouji's bento is a three layered box kind and unmistakably a bento box lunch. Chouji laughs that he happened to make too much while he was at it and hopes that you guys like it. The Evils chatter, and Chouji assures them that there's stuff for them too. Stuff like biscuits, terrine, and boiled pumpkin. Kengo comments on how weird that last one is.

You sit down and say it's time to eat. Ryouta is amazed that the bag meal has a lot of veggies and meat in it, and he cheers how unstoppable the development of it is. Touji says his rice ball is good and comments on how soft and bendy the rice grains are. Chouji mentions that food preservation methods have been advancing, which he's thankful for as a cook.

The Evils swipe Kengo's fried chicken to his indignation, and he complains about them sticking to him. Ryouta gets their attention by saying he's got some meat with him that they can have. Chouji says he feels fortunate and blessed that everyone's so happy with his food. You comment on how energetic the Evils are and ask if they seem more lively than usual. Chouji wonders if it's just because everyone is together, though he does note that they seem more excited.

Kengo gets annoyed and turns to Shirou to bug him to keep his kids under control already, but then he notices that Shirou isn't actually there. He asks you guys where he is, and where Moritaka is for that matter. You start to talk about where either of them are, and Chouji says Shirou was called to the faculty office by Mononobe. Ryouta adds that he tried to invite Moritaka to join you guys but he seemed to have plans and had just left. Kengo brushes the topic of Shirou aside but thinks Moritaka is acting weird. Touji knows something but keeps quiet, and that's where the episode part ends.
