Onsen Jamboree Episode 4 Part 3

Things pick up with Shadow Moritaka being kind of surprised that he's losing to Moritaka fighting with a polearm he's not used to. Moritaka asks his double if this is all it has against his spear harpoon of judgment as he jumps back. You call Moritaka amazing and observe that he can fight with a spear. Moritaka talks out loud about understand how easy it is to read someone who's been driven into a corner, then feels ashamed about how inexperienced he is if he can fend off his past with a totally different weapon. He thinks on how this is one of the things Shino was trying to tell him, and how stepping back can make some things clearer.

Wen Kamui notes that one copy isn’t working out, so he decides to handle things by making another Moritaka copy. Moritaka calls Wen a coward for ambushing him twice as he manages to dodge his attack at the last second, but Wen still ends up cutting a scrap of his clothes again. Wen makes a speech about how bears become flesh and blood and how they eat flesh and blood, living in the cycle of the world of eternal walls of ice. And since it's an endless circle, he can bring up the past any number of times.

Arslan starts to say that it's not supposed to be possible to affect the same target with the same power twice at once, but then he pieces together that Wen is trying to create a different past self. Wen tells you guys to see how disgusting System Kamuy Kotan is as he casts his NP again, which ends up creating Shadow Valentine Moritaka. Moritaka seems confused by this Shadow, and you either are confused too and ask if it's a Shadow of him, or you say you recognize it.

Shadow V. Moritaka starts talking about having always kept these Feelings inside his chest, which shocks both Moritaka and his first Shadow copy. He goes on to say that he can't keep them down anymore then turns to you and desperately asks you to be his ___. You can decide whether he said lord or lover.

In A, Shadow V. Moritaka says yes as he requests that you be the lord of his life. Moritaka protests this since it's a once in a lifetime confession as a warrior and has a meltdown over the Shadow just blabbing it out when he'd been struggling with it since forever. In B, Shadow V. Moritaka says he yearns for you. Moritaka goes into shock as he tries to deny it as some sort of mistake except not really but that's like really secret. Shadow Moritaka also agrees and tries to tell you that his heart doesn't leap when he sees you or anything. Shadow V. Moritaka shouts out that he totally adores you, which prompts the other two to drag him back and tell him to stuff it.

Anyways, Wen laughs as he says he doesn't really get what's happening, but it seems to be working. Moritaka calls Wen's artifact fearsome as he says his mind and body is tattered like his clothes, and Wen decides to resume the battle and points out that he now outnumbers him. You step up to say you'll help Moritaka, which he thanks you for. You point out that it'd still be a 2v3 and that Wen might go for another sneak attack, so you hope that someone else joins your side.

A fire ciramantep pops in and says he'll join you as he calls himself a passing fire wielder, speaking more like a young man rather than like a kid the other ciramantep have spoken like. You are either surprised at this guy's arrival, thank him for helping, or notice that his voice seems familiar. C has the ciramantep sweat and shake when you lean in to take a closer look. But in any case, Moritaka doesn't know where the guy came from but thanks him for coming to help. Wen also notices that this ciramantep seems different from the rest of his minions, and Moritaka declares that he'll surpass this trial as he starts up the episode battle. More story happens after that.

After the battle, the story picks up midway as Moritaka is surprised at how calm he is while being attacked by his past selves. Each represents a worry he had been tackling with for a long while, one about how how he should be as a warrior and the other the heartrending feelings that grip his chest. The feelings that had been jumbled together inside his head are now externalized in front of him, and fighting against them has calmed him down.

Moritaka disarms Shadow Moritaka with one strike after some rough crossing of blades. Shadow V. Moritaka launches an attack next, and Moritaka comments that he was feeling disoriented before, but now he's settled down after those feelings got put into words. He dodges the other Shadow's attack by a hair's breadth and brings it down with his counterattack, and both copies dissolve into darkness upon defeat. He thanks them for sparring with him with a serious but refreshed expression on his face. You compliment Moritaka for making it through.

Moritaka thanks you, and on his face is his old friendly smile. Arslan notes that Moritaka seems to have found the answer to his worry, then turns to Wen and asks to hear what his goal is. Wen finds the question funny, then answers that there is no goal; the System was just set up that way. Once Kimun Kamui stimulates growth, Wen goes out to hunt it. Arslan doesn't say anything in response, and Wen mentions that he and Kimun have a fate that happens to cross with the hero of Kamuy Kotan. Kimun gives his fur and other things to the hero while Wen...trails off and laughs at what he does. He swears next time is when he'll do his duty as he laughs and fades into Kimun. When Kimun comes to, he asks what he was doing and how Moritaka is doing. Arslan assures him that Moritaka is fine and suggests he rest for a bit.

Back to your side, Moritaka thanks you one more time, then thanks the ciramantep as he reveals he knows it's Tadatomo. Tadatomo snorts about him noticing and calls him mean, and you can either react with surprise that the mob was Tadatomo in disguise or say you figured it out earlier. In A, Tadatomo apologizes for the rudeness and says he had to put the disguise on because reasons. In B, Tadatomo is surprised you saw through him and comments that your insight reminds him of his father.

Either way, Tadatomo returns Moritaka's sword as he says he should be fine now that he's solved his worries. Moritaka mentions that he suspected as much, and he's about to say more when Tadatomo preemptively confirms that this was an order request from Shino.

Flashback kicks in as Shino starts talking about how Moritaka is making the same mistake he did. Just when he recklessly went out and made himself a hero of the battlefield he then went on to get cut off as being expendable, which is difficult to say the least. Maybe Moritaka's lord wouldn't want that, but there's still the possibility they get exiled themselves...

Shino says he wants Moritaka to go down a different path than he did, if he ever realizes it. He then asks Tadatomo if he has any ideas on where Moritaka might go to clear his head. Tadatomo says he has some, but that's due to those places having someone closely connected to Moritaka there. Shino decides to try that out, and he tells Tadatomo to take Moritaka's sword on the way before sighing over what a hassle Moritaka is being.

Back to the present, Moritaka is bummed that Shino read him like a book. Tadatomo says he wasn't expecting things to turn out like this either, then tells Moritaka to bring back some dango as a present. Tadatomo also takes a moment to tell you he'll see you later before excusing himself. Ryouta walks over the next moment after looking for you guys and asking how you and Moritaka are doing. He says he heard from Arslan through Maria about the fish for dinner tonight and is excited as he thinks about how much you guys have caught, at which point Moritaka remembers he has to get on that.

Time passes to the point where it's starting to get darker as you and Moritaka try very hard to nab all the fish. Scene skips towards dinnertime, and Moritaka says he has plenty of fish if anyone wants seconds. The fish has already been prepped and skewered, and now Moritaka is cooking them over the fire. The sounds of the crackling firewood mixes with the sounds of cooking fish, the sprinkle of salt shines, and the smell of heated fish oil whets the appetite. Plenty has been cooked already, but requests for seconds keep on coming.

Ryouta talks about how the fish is soft and tender, and Chouji talks about how the salt makes it better and how delicate the fish is under the gameness of it. Kagutsuchi says that the fish Kimun cooked is also good, which Kimun is happy to hear as he says it was worth it that he cooked too. Kimun also talks about how this is his specialty cooking and says he heard it's called gibier cuisine. Kagutsuchi asks about that, so Kimun explains it's a course meal for nobles using hunted meat.

Ryouta says that the fat on the meat makes it delicious and comments on how Kengo wanted some of this. Kimun explains that normally this type of cooking uses all ingredients that were procured on site, including the meat, organs, and blood. Every part of the animal is used, and it is grounded upon the idea of giving thanks for life. Kagutsuchi says he's learned something and thanks Kimun. Kimun talks about how we hunt so that we may live, and you say it's because you need to eat, give thanks for your way of life, or say you live on because others are here.

Kagutsuchi gives his thanks to the fish, and Ryouta says he doesn't have any likes or dislikes but he says he should eat things in a cleaner way and be grateful too. Kimun says the thanks doesn't need to happen every meal, as every so often is enough. Shirou is being quiet, which Kimun notices as he asks if he's feeling restless or something. Shirou apparently is telling one of the Evils to keep a grip on their plate, which Kimun is confused by.

Moritaka takes note of the Evil coming up for seconds and is slightly concerned about how many they're taking, but the Evil tell him they'll be okay. The entire party watches with baited breath as the Blue Evil slowly walks and tries to not drop the plate, and a minute later Shirou is happier than anyone's ever seen him.

Time skips a bit as Aizen walks up to Moritaka and says someone else is coming to watch the fire, so he can go take a bath. Moritaka thanks him and says he'll take him up on his suggestion. Aizen will be standing outside, so they can call for him if they need anything. In the meantime Aizen says Moritaka can relax in the water. Kimun says he'll come along too since he's gotten a little sweaty from earlier.

You see Kimun and Moritaka on the way to the bath a moment later, and you can either talk to them about their going in or say Moritaka looks good in his yukata. In C, Moritaka thanks you as he says his nicer clothes got wet when it fell into the river. Tadatomo left some other clothes behind for him, though they are a tad small. But anyways he asks if you two are heading to the bath too and suggests going together. Kimun notes that people are already there and can hear a voice he recognizes. You then decided whether to take a foot bath or a full on bath.

Arslan happens to be already inside and is snoring and dreaming of eating. Kimun is shocked that he's sleeping there, which wakes Arslan up as he whines he was in a good mood. He quickly snaps to as he realizes what happened and says he got so comfortable he accidentally fell asleep. Kimun says he should dry himself off after bathing for his health's sake, then decides to help him out and give him some water. He tells you two to go ahead as he'll be back soon after getting more water. If you chose to take a full on bath, there's an extra line describing him putting his fur back on before going.

Either way Arslan thanks you guys for the water, then comments that you two have been busy today. He then turns to Moritaka and comments that he's grown, and that the path he strives for is for no one else. He also tells Moritaka to keep the teachings of those who came before him as he goes on, and Moritaka says he will.

Aizen is observing from wherever he is again, commenting on how Moritaka also has his own form of love whether it be love given to his lord or something else he doesn't bring himself to say out loud. He also takes note of Tadatomo's loyalty and devotion that he saw with his third eye. Aizen is about to say what his guess is Wen Kamui's love, but the game cuts him off there to narrate on Moritaka. Moritaka suddenly looks up to the starry sky as the breeze brushes him, and the episode ends with him renewing his determination as he looks upon the twinkling lights.
