Narration picks up to talk about how the first day of the event has passed, and the story clocks in at the ungodly hour of just before sunrise on day 2 as you wake up and leave the tent silently. Shirou turns out to already by up and greets you as he asks if he accidentally woke you up. He just woke up all of a sudden himself and says he couldn't relax since he was sleeping somewhere different than what he was used to. But he figures getting up early during the event is a good thing, and he comments that the chill feels kind of nice.
Shirou goes quiet for a second before he decides to invite you to go on a walk with him. Aizen, Kimun Kamui, and Kagutsuchi turn up shortly after, and Kimun is surprised you guys are up as he says you'd better sleep when you can so you can be ready for whatever trials. You take note of everyone here and ask about everyone being up, and Kimun tells you that Moritaka is also up, doing morning training somewhere nearby. Kimun says he'll be going to a staff meeting, though he was thinking of stopping by the hot springs before that. Kagutsuchi says he'll go with Kimun, and Aizen is quiet.
You ask if Aizen is also going to bathe in the morning and comment that it's surprising to you. Aizen snorts that as the one in charge of the bath he'll always be there to manage it no matter what time it is. That means he's always keeping an eye on everyone's health, and don't you dare forget it. That's his given duty of reconnaissance here at camp. You either say you're happy to see everyone so early in the morning or think to yourself in annoyance that you got interrupted at a good time.
In A, Kagutsuchi says he's happy too while Aizen harrumphs. In B, Aizen manages to actually pick up on your thoughts which he calls indecent, but he dismisses it as his imagination while Shirou reacts in shock. But in any case Kagutsuchi invites you guys to come along since he'd like to wash your backs. You either entertain the idea of going along or try to say you're about to go take a walk.
In A, Shirou says you guys as well go with them since you're here and all, and in the meantime he'll check on the Evils. In B, Shirou and gets flustered as he pushes for you to go and to not mind him. Either way Kagutsuchi is happy you're coming along too. Kimun laughs about how much Kagutsuchi looks up to you, then says you should come along too. Shirou excuses himself to go get breakfast set up, and Aizen tells the rest of you to follow him.
Scene shifts over to the bath as Aizen takes it upon himself to explain how the bath works, again for some people since they've already used it last night. As this is going on, the water is boiling for the bath. Anyways, Aizen proceeds to lecture about how the water quality is from sulfate, and the minerals in it would be sodium, calcium, and magnesium. The hot spring is said to be helpful with healing cuts and burns and other external injuries, and Aizen makes an effort to smile kindly as he looks at Kagutsuchi.
Kagutsuchi thanks Aizen for his consideration, and Aizen mentions that the bath can be set to foot bath or full on bath so you guys should decide which one. He also makes a point to tell you guys to not engage in any 'hot' actions. You can either say you understand, be aghast at this awfulness, or ask Aizen what he's talking about. In A and B, Aizen says he's always watching. While you two are under ceasefire, he won't let every little thing slide. In C, Aizen is shocked that you're trying to make him say things in more explicit terms. He attempts to come up with something before deciding to dodge the question.
In any case Aizen goes over to sit in front of the panel in the back. Kagutsuchi asks Aizen about him not joining you guys in the bath, so Aizen says he's got the important job of guarding the bath and tells you guys to enjoy the water. Kagutsuchi is disappointed, then asks what you guys will do. Kimun says that if Aizen is personally turning down the invitation for reasons, then you should leave him be and go bathe. You can then choose to go with either a foot bath or a whole bath. (Also it turns out this choice sets a flag for a little later this part.)
In A, Kagutsuchi comments on how luxurious it feels to have a foot bath so early in the morning, then jerks up a bit from a sudden bit of heat. Kimun talks about how a foot bath is meant to be a slow soak, where your blood circulation heats up from your feet and spreads through your body. Kagutsuchi says he understands and will get to soaking his feet. In B, Kagutsuchi gets excited about how long it's been since he's had a morning bath and hurries you to join in. Kimun tries to get him to calm down since suddenly jumping into hot water will wear you out. Kagutsuchi is surprised at the scolding but laughs a little and thanks Kimun.
In any case, Kagutsuchi sighs about how nice it all feels. Kimun agrees and yawns a little. Kagutsuchi talks about the cool elevated air and the warm water feeling awesome, then notices that someone has come in and wonders if Aizen decided to join after all. It actually turns out to be Chouji, who greets everyone and comments on you guys being up even though it's not daybreak yet. You either say Chouji's name, greet him back, or point out that he's up too.
Chouji says he saw the water temperature turned up, so he decided to take a look. He also asks if it's okay to join you guys. He's going to be at the Missionaries meeting too and figured he'd freshen up in a bath before going. Kimun comments on the unexpected meeting and says that a morning bath helps focus the mind and body. Chouji says it's rather early for most teams, and that he chose to join over here because of all the steam. He then turns to Kagutsuchi and compliments him on how well his curry turned out the night before.
Kagutsuchi is glad that Chouji liked it, noting that Zabaniya seemed to like it too. He's learned a lot from making the curry. Kimun asks Kagutsuchi if he found a glimpse of what he was looking for, and Kagutsuchi looks at his hand before responding. He mentions feeling like he could see his fire from further away. Zabaniya and Kimun had taught him a lot, and in that one instant he got the feeling like he really grasped something.
Kimun notes that Kagutsuchi managed to pick something up through hearing someone else's opinion. Kagutsuchi says he'll be showing you all how he'll be handling fire, and that he started thinking on things more when he watched Chouji make curry after he did. Seeing how he and Zabaniya handled fire in their own way spurred him into trying to find his own style, and he hopes to as cool as they are.
Chouji is flattered by Kagutsuchi's words. Kagutsuchi talks next about how it's not like he's not afraid of his flames anymore, and how he always tried to suppress them by force. Now though, he'll be like Zabaniya and the others, living together with his flame rather than trying to snuff it out. He thanks you all again, saying it's all due to your guidance. You can either compliment Kagutsuchi, say you'll need to work hard too, or try to hug him.
Kagutsuchi reacts with shock either way, though C has him vocally freak out about his fire flaring up. Chouji tells you to stop since Kagutsuchi is now boiling the water you're all sitting in, and Kimun orders everyone out before you all get burned. Once everyone leaves, Kimun starts patting Kagutsuchi on the back, saying that they can go back in again when the water cools down. You agree with Kimun, say it was a good time to go, then say a morning bath feels great. Also as far as I can tell the flag just changes which sprites are used for this part.
Kagutsuchi says he was happy when everyone was being nice to him, and Chouji laughs about how fun your team is. He also comments on how animated Kimun is being, then says he'll need to go back to his tent to change and do other stuff. Anyways, some time later Kimun prompts Kagutsuchi to raise his arms so he can give what he refers to as a blessing of nature. What he ends up doing is lathering his fur with some soap and bubbles, then washes Kagutsuchi with that.
Kagutsuchi laughs, which causes Kimun to ask if he's ticklish. Kagutsuchi says he isn't, and that it just happened for reasons he doesn't know why. He then talks about how Kimun welcomed him kindly and sternly when he was left behind, and how he scolded him when Kagutsuchi was having issues being assigned fire duty. He compares Kimun to a dojo teacher and admires him in a similar way, which Kimun is surprised about but laughs about.
Aizen is watching from somewhere observing all this and calls it a student/master love (but not like that), narrowing his eyes a bit as he looks at Kagutsuchi's smile. He talks to himself about how this is one kind of love that the Missionaries talk about, then thinks back on how Maria had said as much. His opinion is different, though something else soon takes his attention away as two angels show up. He notes their expression wondering what's up before he seems to understand what's going on. The episode section ends with the title card popping up, and this chapter is called Advance, Scout Leader!
