Things tune back in with the king of Midgard telling people to make way before he talks to you again. He welcomes you to the country once again, then introduces himself as Klaus. He then politely asks to know about you because he's old and curious. It's exciting having the hero of legend appear in his time. You nod and agree and can throw in a comment about how great he is. If you do go with C, he says the way you're looking at him excites him for some reason.
But anyways, Klaus starts things off by asking where you came from. Yuuji starts to answer before realizing he doesn't remember that, nor does he remember why he's even here. Klaus sympathizes with him over this case of amnesia while you find it odd that there's this difference between you and Yuuji since you can remember coming from Tokyo. Yuuji for his part starts to pale and freak out over his predicament.
Klaus moves things along by asking if Yuuji happens to remember anything else like his name. You introduce yourself(/yourselves?) by your nickname, which for the purposes of this summary will be Yuuji. Yuuji remembers his name at least but says he doesn't remember anything else.
Klaus extends more of his sympathies to be lost in another country while so young since it must be so frightening. He then starts to offer help from his kingdom before switching it to offering to help personally with whatever you need. If there's anything at all, never forget that you can go to him for assistance. You can thank him, ask why he'd go so far, or say you love him.
Whichever way you go, Klaus explains that the hero sung of in legends is the hope of the people, and that being able to help is what kings do. Klaus also mentions that he has the strange feeling that this isn't the first time you've met. He starts to compare this to some old vow that may have been exchanged before he backs away from the idea and asks you to forget he said anything about it.
Anyways, Klaus asks what you'll do for now. You tell him you want to go back to where you came from, and that you'll travel around and maybe find some clues on how to do that. Klaus laughs and says you're optimistic, then repeats that you can come back to the castle if anything happens.
After a moment to think on it, Klaus remembers and tells you there's a tavern to the town in the southwest nearby. Maybe some adventurer there might know something about you.
Klaus mentions there are many countries outside of Midgard, starting with Valinor to the west. If you plan on setting out, then you can probably recruit party members at the tavern too. You thank him and say you'll be going, ask him to console you if it all goes to pot, or say you'll work hard for his sake. Klaus sends you off with a prayer for your journey.
Scene shifts over to the town as time skips to you getting over there.
Yuuji is surprised at how busy the place is as people walk around,
including Tanngrisnir and Gullinbursti. Surtr is also around as he
comments in surprise about Yggdrasil prospering with the sons of man as
the Aesir, Vanir, and giants are not around. He seems happy that the
future he dreamed of arriving after Ragnarok passes has come to be.
Surtr then questions what Valinor is and wonders if it's a country within the nine subdomains of Yggdrasil. He also notes that this place seems a bit different from what he/the black flames remember. Upon thinking on it some more, Surtr comments he was in Tokyo until just a moment ago and then found himself here, which he compares to dreaming. Whatever the case is, he decides he needs to see this world for himself.
Surtr walks up to some dwarf merchant and asks to see what travel equipment he has for sale. The dwarf welcomes him and comments that there's a lot more travelers lately. He's glad for the opportunity to make some big money, aside from one little problem...
Andvari happens to be here too, and he welcomes Surtr to his shop. The first dwarf complains about Andvari attempting to hijack his store and turns to his little brother Elwe to say something too. Elwe however is too busy having a boner over two dwarves built like so in front of him to care, shocking them.
Yuuji comments on his ears wiggling, then wonders if he's seeing a real dwarf and elf. He then takes this to mean he might really be in a stock middle age fantasy world or inside a game. Title card then pops up, and this chapter is called Adventurer's Tavern ~ Arena.
Camera then tunes back in at said tavern where a lady greets Yuuji and asks what his business is. You can either ask if she's the owner, gasp about how pretty and wonderful she is, or go crazy over how cute the beastfolk waitress is. In B, the lady laughs and asks you to become a regular customer. In C the waitress gets flustered and thanks you for the compliment.
In any case, the lady denies being the owner and says the real owner is out and about. Since it's been so peaceful they went off on another adventure somewhere. She sighs and wonders if it's because they never ran into any terrible issues when they were an adventurer back in the day. They never really stopped because of that, and the lady wonders if she should make things hell for them instead. Since the tavern being closed would delay things she decided to do her old friend a favor of looking after the place for them.
The waitress speaks up and asks Linda to change the subject since it's bothering you. Linda apologizes for complaining whenever she talks about that bearded dope, then asks what business brings the rumored hero around. You introduce yourself while the rest of the customers are trying hard to listen in on the conversation while Linda nods. You also express surprise that she knows about you already and ask how she found out.
Linda explains it's already the talk of the town that some panicky hero turned up. Taverns are places where news that crosses the borders gather, so other countries should be hearing about this right about now. She then asks what you hope to find in here. You either tell her you came to check the place out or that you were recommended this place for making a journey.
Linda says she'd recommend any new traveler to come to the tavern too. You apparently ask if you really have to have traveling companions. Linda says that while she thinks there aren't that many strong monsters running around, you still need to be able to hunt for food, make shelter, account for fatigue when moving, make fires, and all other sorts of thing when traveling. She then apologizes and makes the observation that you don't look like you're familiar with any of that.
Linda tells you she's not saying blaming you or anything, then asks if you came to look for companions. There should be plenty of people around who'd want to join the rumored hero's party. She starts suggesting getting a warrior, a priest, and a mage when Orgus stands up and interrupts to ask if you're the hero of Midgard. Narration describes him as at least two meters tall, red skinned, and having two horns. You either react with shock at how big he is, try to ask who he is, or drool over him and call him cool.
Orgus introduces himself as the knight captain of the confederate/unified(?) kingdom of Valinor. He heard the rumors of the hero arriving so he's here as a representative to confirm it for himself. People scoot out of the way as he walks over to stand in front of you, and Orgus eventually scoffs at you for being a weakling. He grabs you by the collar and barely makes any effort to hold you above the floor, then demands to know if you'll even try to resist. You can flail, glare at him, or look at him all googly eyed and lovestruck.
If you go with C, Orgus is taken aback and asks if you're looking down on him before wondering why he feels so shaken by that. In any case he talks about how weak you are just like he was expecting when he suddenly drops you. Orgus asks if you two have ever met before, mentioning a maddening sense of unease and sadness gripping his chest. You either drop and cough, demand an apology, or ask if Orgus is new to hitting on people.
In B, Orgus stammers an apology before turning around and wondering why he did so. In C, Orgus is shocked by the suggestion he's trying to flirt with you and denies being a playboy before trying to change the subject. In any event Sol walks up and asks Orgus to stop. Orgus demands to know who he is, but Sol turns to you and notes that you cut your hand on a hangnail. He asks you to wait as he casts a healing spell on you.
Yuuji is surprised by what happened and asks if it was magic, which Sol confirms. You ask who Sol is, thank him, or comment that he looks kind and wonderful. In C, there's an extra bit with Sol being surprised at how forward you are before reminding himself he's prepared to give you his heart and body as an attendant to the hero. Anyways, Sol introduces himself and explains he's a monk that was sent by the Church. He extends a hand to help you up, then reacts with shock when you two touch.
Sol apologizes and says that it felt like lightning shot through him for some reason. He asks if this is the first time the two of you have met, saying he feels like he's always known you before cutting himself off and apologizing for asking. As he attempts to calm himself down, Sol talks about knowing that you've been summoned to Midgard alone and that you're driven by anxiety. He doesn't know why you're here when there's no overlord, but he assures you he'll always be with you.
Orgus cuts in and asks Sol to stop, who in turn addresses him by title and all before asking what business he has with him after hurting you. Orgus doesn't answer, so Sol suggests you guys get going and that he'll take care of things. Orgus finds his voice as he says he'll apologize for before, but he won't let you go off with Sol. He swears to protect you and says there's no place for Sol here. Yuuji is surprised by this development and asks if the two are fighting over him.
Sol calls Orgus arrogant and presumptuous to take charge of you, and Orgus fires back that a powerless human can't be trusted to do that instead. Sol challenges him to battle then, and the two start duking it out. Yuuji is shocked and amazed, wondering who to support in this fight since Sol helped him while Orgus apologized for his behavior. Yuuji decides to stop the both of them before giving up on the prospect since he's never fought before and can't step in.
As Yuuji tries to look for other options, Bacchus walks over and asks if he wants the fight to stop. You either ask who he is or call him cool and refined. In B there's an extra bit with Bacchus laughing in response and wondering if this surprising happiness is how it feels to have a child adore you. Either way he comments on feeling some positive feelings for you he can't source and noting that the two are causing trouble. Bacchus then casts some earth spell to stop them.
Sol recognizes what Bacchus is doing as a warning curse or something, and Bacchus asks the two to stand down since it's causing you grief. Some time later both apologize for acting inappropriately, and Orgus thanks Bacchus for making them stop. Bacchus demurs saying he was overstepping his bounds and is glad no one is hurt. Yuuji is glad things worked out and asks if Bacchus was using magic too.
Bacchus explains that he was using curse and prohibition/cautionary magic, then introduces himself. He heard about the hero's appearance in this land as well, so he came to take a look. Just like the other two he comments on sensing an uncommon bond between himself and you for some reason, like he's known you for a long time despite this supposedly being your first meeting.
Orgus and Sol are both shocked by Bacchus's statement as Sol asks for further details. Bacchus tells them to relax and assures that what he feels isn't any kind of romantic love. If anything his is something more paternal. Orgus is further shocked at the suggestion he has feelings he ought to be guilty about for someone he's just met. Sol agrees saying it's ridiculous a mere monk like him would feel romantic love for the hero.
Bacchus comments that this might be a surprisingly heavy topic before changing the subject and offering you a suggestion. He heard your earlier conversation, so he offers to join your party. Yuuji is surprised by this, so Bacchus explains that he's lost his memories, so he's traveling around to find clues about himself. He's wandered everywhere, and now that he's met you he's found something he never did before. He might find more if he sticks with you, and he says he'd be happy if you considered taking him along.
Orgus yells as he refers to you by title before referring to you by nickname/as Yuuji. If you plan on going anywhere he says he'll come too. As Valinor's knight captain he needs to size up your strength. Sol asks you to take him along too, saying he's studied his whole life to serve you. You either suggest going as a party of four since you can't get anywhere alone apparently, or cheer that you have a harem now.
In C, Orgus is shocked by your comment. Sol is willing to roll with it and says he's heard that great men are fond of sensual pleasures before suggesting Orgus doesn't fit the description. Orgus takes offense at this while Bacchus laughs that things won't be boring at least. Either way you suggest heading out now or ask what preparations you need to make.
In A, there's an extra line with Sol complimenting your enthusiasm but asking you to wait. Orgus says that before going anywhere you guys ought to take on a quest. You ask about that, so Sol explains that quests are requests that adventurers can handle. Orgus says merchants, royals, and knights tend to make them. If an overlord is active then there are quests to defeat special monsters and such, but the main bulk of work is collecting food and materials from out of town.
Sol says it's hard for people who can't fight to go very far from towns. As such, adventurers complete requests to make money for traveling expenses. Bacchus says everything costs money, and Linda cuts in to ask for repayment of damages from Sol and Orgus's battle. She also asks Lena the waitress to hand over an itemized list for compensation.
Orgus apologizes to Lena, and Linda says that if you guys don't have enough money on hand to pay her back, then you guys can work it off through quests. Orgus and Sol are speechless, and Bacchus comments that you guys will have to do quests for the time being. Yuuji is raring to go since he thinks it won't be so dangerous without an overlord around. You either are shocked at how casual Yuuji is about this, wonder if it's okay to stay inside him, or agree with him as things head into the episode battle.
