The Afterschool Brave and Fantastic Party Episode 3 Part 4

Scene tunes in at the front line with all the mobs appearing and attack. Managarm laughs and tells them they hit his phantom. He's only here because he happened to be around, but if they're going to attack him then he isn't going to hold back. He goes to town mowing scores of the undead down, and some Rycants is impressed by how well he's doing before pointing out enemy reinforcements have arrived.

Managarm is annoyed by the numbers, but then he notices that your party has arrived. Yuuji yells as he swings the sword around, and Sol asks everyone else to step back before invoking the power of the wind to cast a defense spell. Sol runs as hard as he can with everybody as he fights on, energy welling up from within. As it is, he feels he can run to the ends of the earth. The way he looks in his armor of Rycants fur makes him resemble a creature that eats monsters. The irony of it doesn't escape him as he wonders if he's granted his old wish. Even so he has one more wish, one as a monk who tempered himself. His wish from back then and his wish now combine, and now he moves on from that day.

Sol tells everyone he'll go on ahead and asks the party to follow him. Yuuji is amazed and refocuses his grip to hide his nerves. You yell out a war cry, and your form flickers over Yuuji's for a second in Managarm's eyes when he looks over. He thinks it's a trick of the eyes to be seeing someone he once met in Tokyo.

The party runs on and on as they advance, routing the undead forces. You all climb the Sage's Tower until you eventually make it to the mystery space Horus is in, and Yuuji asks what the place is in surprise. He quickly notices Horus who is yelling out soon after, then asks if Horus is the overlord and the one releasing the light. Yuuji also observes that Horus looks like he's in pain. Nekros stays quiet, and you may or may not recognize who Horus is.

Horus's left Eye of the Moon is shining, and his artifact is releasing a dark light. As Horus screams, more undead pop into existence as materialized dark thoughts coming from the coffin on his back. Orgus draws everyone's attention to this and asks if that means Horus is the overlord. Sol asks everyone to get back as he calls upon the wind.

Yuuji calls out to Sol, though Sol says he's okay and swears to protect him. He sends a prayer to his staff, summoning a wind to halt the mobs' movements. Orgus cheers him on before attacking himself, but he doesn't get anywhere as he seems to run into a wall. Horus's right Eye of the Sun starts shining now with the light of dawn. This fills the room with light, creating a barrier that blocks you all off from getting closer. This gets described as a rejection command against anything that lives.

Sol is shocked as he identifies this as one of Sylvester's legendary spells that prevents anyone alive from taking action or making contact. Yuuji asks if it's a barrier in other words, but Sol doesn't answer as he's shocked that anyone could use both the overlord's necromancy and the sage's magic.

Horus's eyes both shine as he yells in pain, and Yuuji turns to Sol for ideas. Sol decides to ask Yuuji to take something, which turns out to be a ring. He explains it's a silmaril ring his parents made. It's made of White Stone, which resonates with life and communicates one's will. His fatherly master also taught Sol that the Power to Connect that it has is stronger than anything else in the world. Sol then says that while he's not sure if Horus is the overlord, he does look to be in pain. Sol's ring starts shining, and Sol says it's time to go as the episode battle starts. The story continues afterwards.

After the battle, things pick up midway as Horus's right cast the light barrier, blocking the party. While this is going on, his left eye is still spawning undead mobs to flood the place. Nekros speaks up to say both eyes need to be dealt with to get anywhere, and Sol asks you to take his hand. You give him the hand that has the ring he gave you on it, and he starts chanting a spell he learned long ago. It's some sort of anti-protection spell, and Yuuji cheers him on.

Horus reacts to Yuuji talking and says he heard his uncle's voice, looking up to look at your face. The next moment, your two rings flash, and Horus's barrier breaks. Horus says he hears the voice again and yells for it to stop. Mobs appear once more, and Yuuji freaks out since he can't move since he was concentrating and holding Sol's hand.

Orgus says you guys are just a little short of shutting down Horus's dark light, but Managarm runs in from behind to help by firing off his NP to stop the light from Horus's Eye of the Moon. Yuuji is surprised to see him, and Sol asks if Managarm is that rumored strongest warrior of Rycants legend. Managarm says he doesn't know anything about the legend, but he says he came to help that guy, meaning you.

Yuuji is surprised by this and asks if he really means him. Managarm confirms this, then reaffirms something else as he takes a look at you. That is, he says he sees traces of Someone he met in Tokyo in you, so if he left you to die and went back he'd never be able to look Maria in the eyes again. But anyways Managarm prods you to do that whatever it is that happens when your sword shines. Yuuji doesn't get what's going on, but he goes with the idea and fires some beam of light at Horus's Eye of the Moon.

Orgus cheers you on, and the sword beam you fire knocks some Black Stone that was stuck in Horus's left eye. Horus says he doesn't hear the voice anymore, then asks where he is. Sol notes he seems to be back to his normal self and starts trying to ask him to explain things when the stone knocked out of Horus starts changing shape.

Orgus says he's feeling some sort of dread and terror that seems like it devours life. He asks if the pressure he feels means the Anubis looking thing is the overlord. Nekros speaks up and says it isn't yet. It is nothing more than a mass of power still, and it can't begin to work until it is placed in a vessel with a will.

Nekros describes the Anubis figure as a vessel and king of the underworld who ruled over death, and his power was the ability to revive the dead. He didn't have any compatibility with this World, which Nekros says is because the White Stone and Black Stone are opposed. Same goes the Eyes of the Sun and Moon. It's like that because of what this world believes though, so he figures that was why Horus (or Anubis?) was in pain. Now that mass of power wanders in search of a vessel.

Yuuji is surprised by Nekros doing all this expositing, and Nekros says the thing needs a vessel to contain in. He laughs at the idea at how much he suffered to wish for that but warns him that he might not end up answering the expectations of the one who birthed him. Things shake as Nekros declares that the adventure you wish for will never end if there isn't an overlord.

Yuuji tries to ask what Nekros is talking about, but Nekros and Bacchus split apart before his eyes. Bacchus asks what's going on as he tunes in, putting his hands on himself and trying to figure out what's happening. After confirming that his body exists, he turns his attention back to Nekros. Nekros calls to what he calls his power to reside in his body.

Nekros and the Anubis thing fuse, and Nekros starts talking about how he is fated to bring destruction to all living things and take joy in eating death. He is fated to perpetuity, and he declares himself the avatar of degeneration. Life wanes and death returns, people and stars are fated to fall to death. Nekros then declares that his name is the overlord the No Life King, and the episode ends.
