Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 2 Part 2

We pick back up from before with Li Chou telling you, Cait Sith, Agyou, and R-19 to pay attention to him. He calls himself a senpai of the festival and says he'll show you something. Cait Sith is taken aback as he says he understands, but Li insists on being referred to as senpai, so Cait Sith gives in and does so. You either thank Li for showing you guys in his edgy way, tell Agyou you guys should learn together, or ask R-19 if he wants to try it with you. Agyou agrees, though he is weirded out by what's happening, and R-19 nods in acknowledgement.

Li Chou loudly prompts everyone to raise their voices, and Agyou asks you and R-19 if Li is the type who's forceful when interacting with people younger or smaller than him that he can brag to. Li tells him to stop looking away and to watch his mad goldfish scooping skills already as he starts giving instructions. Said instructions are to stare at the water, scoop the fish up in one stroke, and most importantly, yell at the fish to not look down on you. Cait Sith gives it a go, and you either dramatically point out how this is Umamichi-style Goldfish Scooping, point out instead that Li is actually teaching people how to squat like a delinquent, or call Cait Sith cute.

Li Chou tells Cait Sith not to panic, because panicking means that you'll just lose out in the end. He advises against going for the big fish and picking the smallest fish instead. Herd the fish and predict their movements, and then...bam there he goes scooping the thing as he asks you and Cait Sith if you guys were watching, so proud of himself. Cait Sith turns out to be very impressed and says he's so strong against little opponents, and Li brags to the rest of you about how awesome he is.

Agyou is also impressed as he calls Li Chou a goldfish scooping pro. He gets excited to try too and makes a contest of it with R-19 to see who will catch one first, but he breaks the poi in trying. R-19 breaks his poi as well, and he asks Barguest for a new one. Agyou gets pissy when he breaks it again and demands another poi. Barguest moves quickly to hand out the new pois and comments to himself about how busy it is now, which reminds him about that stamina drink he was given earlier. He decides to drink it now since it'll get even busier, but he accidentally spills some into the fish tank. Barguest considers switching out the water when he notices something, and Cait Sith quietly walks away. You call after him and follow. Li Chou calls over to you to watch him scoop a goldfish again until he notices that you're gone. He tries asking where you went when he gets interrupted by being splashed, and some voice asks him if he'll scoop them to his surprise.

Camera then jumps to your end as Cait Sith sighs, and Solomon comments on how listless his mood is. Cait Sith turns around when he notices someone is there, and you either tell him he's done a good job or ask if he's done with goldfish scooping. When Cait Sith realizes who's there, he tells you guys thanks for your work, and Solomon takes notice of him using a plural to talk to you two. Cait Sith confirms that he can see Solomon, which surprises you.

Cait Sith is confused as to why you'd be surprised by that and wonders if Solomon is a ghost type of Transient. Tezcatlipoca comes in looking for Cait Sith and sees that you're here too. Cait Sith asks him why he'd leave the main area and come over here, and Tezcatlipoca says he came to talk about the traffic controls on the elevator when some screaming occurs. Tezcatlipoca is amused by it and asks if you can hear it, saying a disturbance must be happening. Cait Sith complains that there's too much going on, so you either tell Cait Sith to go with you, tell Tezcatlipoca he's too loud, or tell Solomon you're going back. Either way, Cait Sith says he's coming too.

Back at Barguest's stall, gigantified goldfish splash out of the tank one after another as merfolk. Agyou is shocked by this and assumes this is part of the game, and Li Chou stands there slack-jawed for a second before he says that it's not. You run in at this point and ask what's going on, be shocked and ask if goldfish scooping is supposed to be like this, and/or ask Barguest what happened.

Barguest explains that he was going to take a drink of the special stamina drink he got from another festival committee member when he accidentally spilled it into the tank. This somehow caused the goldfish to turn giant and transform, and Barguest asks what the hell was in the thing. Tezcatlipoca points out that turning big wasn't the only thing to have happened as he directs your attention to the sky, where some goldfish have also transformed into dragons. You point out the flying bit and/or ask again if this is how goldfish scooping is supposed to be.

Tezcatlipoca warns you that the goldfish dragon is swooping down, and Li Chou asks you where you went and tells you to do something about this. Cait Sith is surprised and asks Li about what happened, but Li says to leave that for later and deal with the crisis first. Tezcatlipoca laughs as he interprets this as Li saying war has no need for dialogue, and he decides to follow Li's lead. You either refer to this as another storm of turmoil or ask what you should do. Li says you should first scoop the goldfish and tells you to leave the festival things to him as the episode battle begins. More happens after that.

After the battle, more goldfish turned mobs keep attacking, and you point out how endless they are and how this'll spread to the other areas in time, so you ask Li Chou for ideas. Tvastar is unconcerned with the mess happening as he talks to Vritra about feeling the energy build up here, and Cait Sith picks up on his voice. Tvastar then announces his presence to all of you, and he asks if that stamina drink fell into the tank. Barguest recognizes him as the one who gave him that drink earlier, and he asks in shock what the drink was and what was in it to lead to this turn of events. Tvastar says it was just an energy drink, but he also admits he reused the refining process for soma. You either ask what soma is or have some recognition for the term.

Tezcatlipoca does some exposition about soma being a miracle drug from the world of Deva Loka, a kind of stimulant that can give limitless physical and mental energy. Tvastar is surprised he'd know and wonders if that means his soma is famous. Tezcatlipoca laughs and explains he learned about it because One of His Collaborators is from that world. Tvastar mentions that he was the guardian of soma back in his home world, and you ask if soma being a stimulant means that the stupid fish are just on an energy high.

Tvastar confirms that part and says you're smart. When the goldfish drank in the stamina drink it should have given them inexhaustible energy, and with their intellect and strength boosted beyond a human's they probably forgot that they were fish. Tezcatlipoca thinks on how the goldfish Only forgot what they are and considers what that means when R-19 speaks up to ask Tvastar a question. Agyou is a little taken aback by this, and R-19 asks if this means that the goldfish did not spontaneously evolve the ability to live on land like land dwelling animals. Tvastar confirms it and says they're just flopping around really hard. It'd be one thing if they were modified, but all soma does is strengthen existing qualities. You then realize this means that the goldfish didn't gain the ability to breathe on land.

Agyou gets alarmed and says you guys need to get the fish back in the tank. Tezcatlipoca asks how you intend to accomplish that since you guys are shorthanded for the task, so Cait Sith speaks up and offers to take care of that as he pulls out his stick. He declares himself the next king of cats and orders a bunch of cats to gather there, counting up. Agyou is surprised and says he sees a dust cloud coming in from the distance, and R-19 opens up his eye lenses to their widest setting to see what's up. A bunch of cats turn up, which you point out and ask if Cait Sith did this.

Cait Sith orders the summoned cats to surround the goldfish. As the cats do so, Tezcatlipoca laughs and says he did well, pointing out that the cats chasing the fish seems to be reminding them of what they are. Li Chou steps up next and says to leave the next part to him. Since the fish spoke to him earlier he reasons that his artifact should work on them. Li then casts his NP and uses it to command the fish to remember that they are goldfish meant to be scooped up. This proves successful as the mobs turn back to their original size and return to the tank. You either cheer Cait Sith, call Li cool, or tell both of them they were amazing. In A, Cait Sith cheers and thanks you, then gives you a hug. In B, Li is moved by the compliment but tries to play it cool until you start petting him, and he says the bold move is turning him on. In C, Cait Sith is a little surprised but accepts it, and Li brags to you and Cait Sith saying he told you guys to leave festival stuff to him.

Anyways, Cait Sith decides to thank Li Chou as the festival head and as the successive king of cats. Li tells him to forget about it and is about to tell him to call him senpai again when he processes Cait Sith mentioning a king. When he asks who he means, Cait Sith says he was referring to himself and obliges with the senpai title. Li flips his gourd and grovels in a panic, apologizing for not knowing his position. He goes as far as waving off the senpai part and oinks as he asks Cait Sith to call him a pig. You tell Li he's looking uncool or point out how totally weak he is against people of higher social standing. To the side, a bunch of randos have witnessed what happened and take it to be a magic show as they become impressed. Tezcatlipoca announces that the collection of happy power here has been completed and that his goal is one step closer.

Some time later, Cait Sith asks to talk to Tvastar. Tvastar asks if he's going to accept his modification offer after all, but Cait Sith says he came to say he doesn't need it yet. Tvastar is disappointed as he asks why since he has the parts right there. Cait Sith flips a Japanese cat idiom about not needing that much help yet, and he says he wants to show the current king of cats his self that he got with his own efforts and can be proud about. Tvastar says it's a nice thought, but then he asks if Cait Sith can still say that if, "what if he dies tomorrow?"

Cait Sith is taken aback by the question, and Tvastar suggests the king of cats could die tomorrow of various possible causes. An accident, an illness, a fight, or some unforeseen event. He has a serious expression on his face as he looks at Cait Sith whlie petting Vritra. Partings can happen at any time, and once they do it'll be too late for regrets. He asks Cait Sith if he can say "it's okay he didn't manage to show the king of cats who he wanted him to see" without regrets if he never manages to do so. Cait Sith doesn't have an answer. Tvastar then claims he was joking and talks about how wanting to be more festive on a festival day. He tells Cait Sith the offer still stands if he ever changes his mind, and that he'll be in his workshop.

Camera then shifts back to your end as Agyou cheers about finally catching a goldfish, and it's just the one little goldfish. R-19 nods, but he starts to bring up what Touji said about things from the festival only lasting up to three days, and a quick flashback happens to repeat his line. Touji then turns up in the present and asks if R-19 was calling for him, surprising him. Kengo calls to you guys and says it's time to switch shifts when he takes note of the fish you guys got. Touji comments on the cool flowing water and the bright fish, then suggests goldfish scooping has a bit of elegance in a festival. Kengo gets nostalgic and asks Shirou if his goldfish from that one time is still alive. Shirou says it should still be kicking around and remembers taking care of it with one book in hand. Kengo is amazed and says it's been ten years.

R-19 is surprised as he asks if it can live that long. Shirou tells him that there are records of goldfish that have lived for 15 years, though it is dependent on how well they're taken care of. Touji is surprised to hear this and says he might have been taken in from hearsay. He didn't want to look into things deeply because he thought it'd be depressing, and he apologizes for not having done so. Shirou points out there are still individual circumstances to consider, so it's not something that can be said of all goldfish as he turns to R-19. R-19 seems relieved to hear that.

Agyou starts asking you if it's okay to keep the goldfish in the guild house. He tries to plead for it since he has it now anyway and promises he and R-19 will take care of it, then he turns to see if R-19 agrees. R-19 says he does agree and asks you for permission as well. He wants to treasure his time together with it until they have to say goodbye. Ryouta thinks he looks nice holding the goldfish and tells everyone to look at him so he can take a picture. And instead of the standard say cheese line, he phrases it as a math problem this time before taking the picture.

A familiar voice expresses surprise about seeing you here and says you look good in that happi. You turn around in some surprise to see Mononobe here, and Mononobe said he was wondering whether you, and all your friends would be here. He laughs, saying he thought about making a few memories with his students here as the episode ends.
