Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 2 Part 1

Things begin with Hakumen up on stage at the festival area, welcoming everyone to the Tokyo Casino and commenting on how lively things are. She continues with her speech by saying how happy she is to be hosting the festival there in Little Tir na Nog, and that Little Tir na Nog is indeed pretty much a small scale recreation of the world of Tir na Nog. The place has been installed with special lighting so that the romantic fantasy of evenings and nights of the world of fairies can be replicated indoors, and she invites Transients from Tir na Nog to enjoy things too.

Hakumen ends her speech there so she can head to her next meeting. She turns around and comments on how rough it is to be a competent woman with her time blocked off so much, then asks Shennong if he's ready to go. Shennong reveals himself and wonders what sort of expression he should be making and asks if he should refer to Hakumen with Lady. He's also curious that they're talking to each other since he knows that Hakumen doesn't think highly of him for inheriting Nuwa's flag.

Hakumen laughs and tells Shennong that there's no need to listen to the murmurs of the unwashed masses. He is the one who inherited the Flag that Rends the World, and she is the one who inherited Her Will. Shennong understands at that and starts to say something about some strong pressure before he rethinks it. Hakumen laughs and asks Shennong to accompany her to see some other guest that won't see her in turn unless he's there.

Some time later, Shennong and Hakumen are outside the casino, and Shennong asks her to be careful as he turns around before getting into the Warmongers' escort van. If anything happens, he'll jump in front to nullify it because that's the Arrangement going on with the guild members and the one they're meeting themselves. He asks Hakumen to hide behind him, but Hakumen pushes past him and ignores his warning. She asks if he thinks she's the type to actually listen when told that.

Balor turns up, and Hakumen greets him and asks what he thinks of Little Tir na Nog. Cait Sith had overseen its construction, and she personally thinks it came out well. It's filled with the fresh energy of all the visitors, and to an outsider it looks like a huge success. Still, Hakumen is getting the feeling that it's still missing something, so that's why she invited its biggest name to ask for his opinion. What does the most important person of the big names of Tir na Nog think?

Balor says that Little Tir na Nog is lopsided, which surprises Hakumen. Balor clarifies that Hakumen is misunderstanding the true nature of the land of mischievous fairies, saying that fairies are Things That Toy with Fate Using Pranks. While he's at it he says that fate isn't just composed of life. It is also composed of the Partings that are deeply connected to life in the shadows. In other words, Little Tir na Nog is lacking in the scent of death.

Back to the festival, the camera shifts over to Tvastar as he talks to Vritra and points out how the energy of life is getting excited. He also pets Vritra while he's at it. Tvastar goes on to talk about how living is great, but it seems to be missing something. He wants to feel the energy rouse up even more, which segues into him pulling out a bunch of vials with liquid in them while making vocal sound effects. He says that if someone drinks them they'll be filled with energy and power to get hustling. He's about to go hand them out to everyone working at the festival when he says he's picking up on an unexcited signal and decides to hide.

Cait Sith walks by sighing about how the last day of the festival has his magic show going on as the ending program, then wonders what he'll do. So far he's only ever performed for a single person or for a small handful of people for an audience, so he'll have to pull off some sort of illusion for a huge crowd or else it won't be visible. Cait Sith reminds himself that he still has time to think of something, and if he can make the festival a success, then he'll have the confidence to be the king of cats. Maybe. He tells himself that if he's bad at actual magic, then he can try hard at something else. He walks off, and Tvastar pops back up saying he heard what Cait Sith was talking about, and since Cait Sith is lacking in something that means he should get ready to do something.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called Open the Festival! Glares by the Goldfish Scoop!?

Camera then focuses on Li Chou as he laughs to himself about the festival is going great, and of course it would what with him being the advisor. He brags that if he can get the top spot of Umamichi, then everything will fall into place and there'll be nothing to be afraid of. Hougen walks up behind Li and talks to him, saying he's a police officer and asking if this is the main office for the festival. Li freaks out at seeing Hougen's silhouette and starts apologizing and saying he was just putting on an attitude before he realizes he isn't talking to Sanat Kumara.

Hougen asks if Li Chou has mistaken him for someone else and says a 'jentelman' like him isn't whoever he thinks he is. Li then asks if Hougen being with the police means some of the Umamichi students have done something wrong. Hougen doesn't know what he's talking about, but he comments that the visitors had to present a lot of papers earlier. He also goes on a tangent to comment on how great festivals are, what with all the giggly vibes and the boinging and the puffing. Li has no idea what all the sound effects are supposed to mean and asks if this is old world speak. Hougen in shock points out that the edgy way Li says hi and thanks is not the way a modern school student speaks.

But anyways, Hougen realizes that's not really why he's there and says he came to talk about the traffic control issues at the elevator just now. Li Chou figures that means there's even more visitors than expected and says it's okay for people to use the back entrance elevator too then. Tezcatlipoca pops up to their surprise and offers to go talk things out about that, then asks them to wait. In the meantime he'd like to ask Li to handle something else to make the festival happier, and he leaves cackling. Li stares for a second before having a conniption that a doll talked and is shocked that it was so edgelordspeak fancy.

Camera then jumps to where you are as you comment that people are getting excited. Since there's time before you have to get to your job, you suggest getting something to eat. Ryouta agrees as he says he's getting hungry, and Agyou joins in as well. Kijimuna says the tasty smells are getting to him, and Hanuman's attention is jumping everywhere as he points out things like yakisoba, takoyaki, and beef skewers. Shirou suggests grabbing some food and checking out the stalls then, so the kids all say okay.

Xolotl decides to excuse himself at this point as Hakumen is calling for him. Shirou thanks him for all his help and asks him to pass their greetings to Hakumen. Agyou is disappointed to hear that Xolotl is leaving and asks him why. Xolotl apologizes to him, then says that since the festival is continuing tomorrow he'd be happy if he runs into you guys again. R-19 makes a note of that in his schedule, but Xolotl clarifies it's only a maybe as he still has work, then leaves.

Moritaka suggests getting going, and he asks everyone to take care not to eat too much since you all have your jobs after this. Ryouta has already grabbed something by this point as he talks about how nice and juicy his grilled chicken, beef kebobs, and weiner sausages are. Moritaka is cooing over a buttered potato he's eating, and Kengo says eating outside makes things taste better for some reason before asking for another order of yakisoba. An Evil chatters at Shirou as he blows on a piece of takoyaki to feed to it, and he is soon mobbed by the rest of them. He laughs and chides them to wait their turn. Kijimuna compares cotton candy to a cloud and comments he could get used to it. Agyou is having chocolate bananas and won a second one over RPS. Hanuman has a chocolate banana as well as a crepe of some kind. You sneak something to Solomon that he asked you for.

Solomon is having some grilled corn and says it's as good as you told him it was. R-19 is staring quietly not eating, so you go ask him if he wants anything. R-19 asks what that thing is floating on the water is. Touji says those are water yoyos and mentions some nostalgia as he goes to get him one. He asks R-19 if he likes it after he gives it to him, and R-19 technobabbles about it being a balloon filled with water that you play with by bouncing it up and down. There's also some stuff in it to randomly make noise, which living things find comforting.

Touji laughs as he notes how stiff R-19 is, then says it reminds him of how he used to be. He then asks again if R-19 likes the water yoyo. He answers that he does and thanks him. Touji tells him that the balloon will deflate after a few days though, which R-19 asks about. Touji says most things from a festival are like that, and that they don't last long. R-19 goes quiet at that.

Camera jumps back to Cait Sith repeatedly trying to get Tvastar to stop following him until he eventually gets fed up enough to ask why since Tvastar is supposed to accompany Tezcatlipoca. Tvastar tries to placate him and asks him to listen to him, promising it won't be about anything bad. Cait Sith is quiet for a bit before he decides to get to the point and asks if he wants to modify him. Tvastar confirms as such to his shock, and he asks Cait Sith about feeling like he's missing something.

Cait Sith doesn't answer, so Tvastar asks him to tell him what it is and offers to mod him for that. Modding is the totes easy solution to every problem! Cait SIth is taken aback by this before telling Tvastar that the reason he can claim that is because he was Born With what he had. Tvastar is surprised by this, and Cait Sith takes the moment to refuse the offer and says he has to do something when Li Chou walks in. Li says he was looking for Cait Sith, asking him to come with him on patrol. Cait Sith recognizes him as the advisor and tries to remember his name, and Li picks him up, saying he sees he's in trouble and brags about how nice he is to help. Cait Sith is speechless, so Li tells him nothing gets done by frowning and carries him off to go clear his head on a walk.

Scene them jumps back to your end as Agyou is staring at something. R-19 talks to him to ask what, so Agyou points out all the little white and red things swimming in the water. You ask Agyou if he's interested and/or if he likes goldfish scooping. Agyou tells you he wants to see goldfish scooping some more, so Shirou suggests Agyou take charge of the area around here. He then realizes what time it is and says it's time to get going to your stations, suggesting you split up to different areas and entrances. The ones wearing the happi coats should stay in the festival grounds to help with the stalls and defense. He then picks you and Agyou to handle the area around the goldfish scoop game.

R-19 asks Shirou for permission to help in this area too. Shirou is fine with it, but he asks if he can wear a happi. R-19 answers that he can't, which he guesses is because he doesn't have the emotional range for it to work. Shirou says he can stay as is then and will let Tezcatlipoca and the others know. He asks you guys to mediate any arguments and help with the stalls. If any other trouble happens, you should contact people over the app, and the rest of the gang voices their acknowledgement.

Kengo says it's time for him to go and says he'll see you later. Moritaka mentions that there are more happis available for the people wearing them at the entrances. Shirou reminds them that collecting the happy power is more important than the tickets because there'd otherwise be no point in collecting the happis. Kengo jokes about stealing a shining happi if he sees one, alarming Moritaka into asking him to calm down. Hanuman says it's time to go too as he waves and says he'll see you later.

Some time later, you, Agyou, and R-19 head over to the goldfish scoop game. Barguest welcomes you guys over and mentions that if you do well you'll have a chance to get more than one. You tell him you aren't a customer but someone from the committee to help before you realize you're talking to Barguest. He recognizes you after a sec and explains he's handling this stall when asked. R-19 explains why you guys are there and asks if he needs help with anything. Barguest says he's a little bored now since there's no one else here, then adds that he likes polite kids. Agyou stares, which Barguest notices and asks if he'd like to try. Agyou is surprised and asks if it's okay, and Barguest laughs at his honest reaction. He also tells him yes, saying that more customers tend to come when someone is in the middle of playing. You comment on having you guys pretend to be customers, then shrug and suggest doing so while thinking of it as work as you ask the two if they want to try.

Barguest hands the kids some pois, one try each. Agyou asks what a poi is, so Barguest explains that it's the goldfish scooping tool made with paper. Some places use bean jam wafer cakes instead. Agyou points out that the poi would break in water, which surprises Barguest into explaining that what makes it a game. Agyou understands now and gets excited, then tells you and R-19 to watch him at work. Li Chou walks up at this point and asks Barguest for two pois too, edgy thanks. You are surprised to see him and Cait Sith, together on top of that. The half ends with Cait Sith taking notice curiously.
