Fortune Festival's Happy Illusion Episode 1 Part 1

Things begin with Hakumen looking pissy in the Tycoons' meeting offices. Cait Sith tries to placate her as much as possible, politely asking what business she has with him. He was just on break earlier sitting in Lucifuge's lap talking with him about just nobility things. Also he's scared with how much she's glaring, like she might just eat him or something. Hakumen decides to get to the point and brings up that Happy Happi Strategy, asking if you're involved with it.

Cait Sith confirms this and comments he's glad that Licht's your friend. He also talks about being happy about saving the people from their worries and being lucky he has enough help with the festival he's organizing. Hakumen nods along saying it'd turn out that way of course since you're there. She then prods Cait Sith about how he intends on repaying the favor. He's not sure what she's talking about, so Hakumen gets outraged and asks if he plans on making you work the whole time while he lays around in the sun on some veranda somewhere. She dramatically sighs about how you've been caught up in some trouble again, but she corrects herself and says you probably just stuck your nose in things again like usual.

Cait Sith attempts to talk Hakumen out of her daydreams and getting herself worked up, or at least listen to him. Hakumen instead declares that she's made a decision, to which Cait Sith asks details for. Hakumen says she's cancelling her end of festival one lady concert that was supposed to happen on the last day. Cait Sith protests this, trying to point out that there's no replacement on such short notice. She tells him to just put on his magic trick show, calling it a reward for you since you'll undoubtedly be tired. And there she'll heroically be, by your side tending to you! Hakumen then makes a note to herself saying she needs to pack the multitier box lunch. But anyways that's all she has to say, asking Cait Sith if that's okay as she calls it Her Wish. Then she flounces out with a ciao, leaving him to scream loudly in shock over this.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called Festival Prep! Happy Happi Strategy!?

Things then tune in on the first day of the school break at the safehouse, where everyone is up early getting ready to leave. R-19 is going over a list of consumable goods like towels and tooth brushes, then says he's done with the check. Shirou thanks him for his help and asks him to put the things in the shared group bag. R-19 informs him he can't because the bag is already full. Moritaka is shocked by this since he took it out of storage last night, and it was empty at the time. R-19 checks the bag and says it's filled with the maximun allowed level of snacks.

Touji briefly thinks to himself before saying he knows why this happened and asks you to wait as he goes to fetch the culprit. Both Ryouta and Hanuman freak out as Hanuman turns to Ryouta for ideas now that they've been found out, suggesting running away. Ryouta attempts to talk his way out of it, saying that since it's a stayover trip he thought you guys would need more candy than usual. You either agree that a trip needs its snacks, be surprised that Hanuman is also in on this, or say each person can only bring one. In A, Ryouta is happy you understand and says sharing snacks inside the bus is a special experience. In B, Ryouta is surprised that's what you're shocked about and says he's the senpai. In C, Ryouta is shocked as he says it'll already be eaten by the time he gets on the bus.

Touji asks Ryouta if that's all he wants to say for himself. Both Ryouta and Hanuman hit the floor apologizing, and Kengo groans about how he's not a little kid anymore. Besides, there's convenience stores and stuff near the festival area if he wants them. Moritaka says he's heard that the festival area is huge though, supposedly taking up all of Little Tir na Nog. There's no guarantee you guys will get there that fast, so he tries to speak up for letting it pass. Ryouta tries to make an argument for taking a little extra along since you guys will be going by bus, but Shirou says the plan is to take the train and keep the luggage light so it won't get confused with other people's things. Ryouta is confused by this as he points out that there's a microbus parked right outside.

It turns out Xolotl is outside with the bus, greeting you guys good morning and saying he's here to pick you all up. Touji is surprised by this, and Moritaka asks for more of an explanation for him being here and about the bus. Xolotl says Hakumen ordered him to come here. You are surprised Hakumen sent him and the bus, which Xolotl confirms as true but also mentions she couldn't come due to being busy making a multilayered box lunch. The lunch thing surprises Moritaka in turn as he comments that administrators think on a whole new level. Shirou meanwhile is talking to himself thinking over the bus thing, so you ask him what's up.

Shirou is about to answer when all the younger guild members pile up in anticipation. Agyou is excited about the small bus being there and asks if that's how you guys are getting to the festival area. Kijimuna basically asks the same thing while Hanuman says it's a big surprise and asks if it's some difficult production put on by you guys. Xolotl tells them yes and asks them to slowly get on board. They all cheer in turn.

Kengo gets excited too as he says taking a bus makes it really feel like a group trip. Moritaka says it feels as exciting as going to the kendo team training camp as he thanks Xolotl for taking care of things. Xolotl is happy they're saying so and comments that it was worth it getting here without any breakfast. He'll be driving, so he asks you all to kick back and relax on the ride over. You thank him, then ask if it's okay for him to drive.

Xolotl figures you're asking about his eyes. He says there's nothing to worry about as the eyes he got from Hakumen are working fine since the other day. Shirou steps forward to ask Xolotl something about what the bus being here means. He doesn't get the whole question out when Xolotl confirms it for him and says it's probably Hakumen's answer to something, at which point Shirou understands and says it's Like That. He then agrees to take Xolotl's offer and thanks him. Xolotl thanks him too, and you ask Shirou what he's talking about.

Shirou laughs and says it's nothing. You'll understand once you get there. Xolotl suggests getting on board now, and since there's plenty of space you can put things wherever. Ryouta cheers about this and asks Shirou if it's okay for everyone to take snacks on board. Shirou says yes as this time will be a special exception, and he warns against eating too much. Everyone responds saying okay. Time skips a moment to the point everyone has gotten on, where Shirou asks Xolotl to start driving after he does a head count. Xolotl starts announcing that the driving destination is the Tokyo Casino and asks if anyone has forgotten anything. Everyone excitedly yells together that it's time to go.

Some time later, Kijimuna comments on how fast things are passing by outside and how soft and comfy the bus seats are. Agyou mentions that Ungyou was pretty fast, but this bus is fast too. Hanuman laughs at the others for being kids and brags that he'd be faster than the bus when he's giving it his all. Touji tells Hanuman he shouldn't go on about that point since Agyou and Kijimuna don't ride cars all that much. Shirou says it doesn't look like there's any traffic congestion, so you guys should get to the casino faster than expected. Xolotl agrees and says you should be there soon.

Kengo mentions being a bit hungry since you all left the dorms early and didn't get much breakfast. Shirou agrees to the point and says that since the original plan was to take the trains, he'd been planning on you guys grabbing something from the station. The topic reminds Hanuman that he's feeling hungry too, and even with all the snacks there it's not quite enough to fill him. You talk about how it'd have been nice to bring something along and suggest stopping by a convenience store somewhere.

Ryouta starts laughing, saying he hasn't overlooked any details as he reveals he has Chouji make some deluxe sandwiches, which he then packed into a cooler. There's the standard egg sandwich to things like fruit sandwiches, and he assures you he kept the cooler closed tight until now. Kengo is happy about this and takes a cutlet sandwich. Touji is surprised, saying he thought Ryouta was just packing a lot of things and didn't think he'd have something like this stashed away. Shirou laughs and says he has to thank Ryouta's devotion to food this time, then asks if he and the Evils can have some. Ryouta puffs asking if people are complimenting him now, and he says Xolotl can have some too when the bus stops.

Agyou cheers about the sandwiches and asks if he can have the one with the hamburger in it. Kijimuna is having one with lettuce and tuna in it, and an Evil chatters. R-19 is sitting there quietly, and Ryouta prompts him to join in too since there's stuff for him. R-19 answers that he doesn't need to eat, but he thanks him for his consideration. Ryouta says he's got this covered too and reveals he's got some deluxe energy cookies from the Kamata Crafters. That way R-19 can eat with everyone! He doesn't know how it tastes, but he was told it was something its creator was proud of. R-19 analyzes the thing, then accepts the cookie when he's done.

When R-19 eats the cookie, he robospeaks about being able to gain energy from it and how it's 98% compatible with him. He also says it's what humans would call delicious. Ryouta tells him this is also where people say 'thank you for the food,' which R-19 takes a second to process before repeating it back. Ryouta nods and tells him there's more if he wants any, and R-19 tells him okay. Someone not shown is munching on some food, and Ryouta turns to you surprised that you've already eaten your sandwich. Moritaka laughs and says you have a healthy appetite, then points out that there's more sandwiches still. You say you're hungry and thank him, then sneak a sandwich to Solomon.

Solomon says to you that the sandwich was great and that he's having fun rocking with the bus on your lap. He talks about playing together with you this time because of reasons he doesn't actually give. Xolotl starts commenting that eating together with a lot of people together really is fun, and Ryouta asks him how much longer it'll be until you guys hit the casino. He answers that you'll be there soon since there's no traffic jam, though it'll still take some time actually reaching it. Kengo is confused by this and asks him or Shirou to explain, but all Shirou will say is that you'll know when you get there. You wonder aloud what it could be or say you have a guess as to what.

After you guys all finish eating, the bus enters a tunnel, which turns out to be jam packed with traffic. Agyou points this out in shock and asks what's happening. Touji is surprised as well and asks if everyone there is headed for the casino. Xolotl confirms that fact and says it's been like this for three days now. The bus is slowly moving at this point while Xolotl answers with practiced ease. He explains that normally the casino only lets in people who are on a VIP list, but when the occasional festival open to the public happens, traffic gets congested every time. Ryouta understands and points out that of course people would rush the place if that's the only time it's open.

Touji says he's heard that times like these is when the police and related staff have to get involved more than usual, but seeing this is helping him to understand. The traffic jams and stuff looks like it'll only go downhill from there. Hanuman nods and compares it to online net game events where limited time areas open up. Shirou says you guys will have to thank Hakumen and Xolotl, asking if they brought the bus because they knew about this. Xolotl confirms that and brings up they considered giving you guys an air lift but figured you'd turn that down. With a bus there's air conditioning too, and Xolotl says that frankly, it's okay if you guys decide to go sleep at this point. You ask if that's why they sent the bus and call Xolotl kind.

Agyou agrees, saying Xolotl also is scoring a lot of komainu points and is really cool. Xolotl is embarrassed by this in turn, but he thanks him and says he feels like he's gotten a bit of confidence from that. Kijimuna notes that the casino is huge and asks what the inside is like, and the section ends with Xolotl offering to explain since there's some time.
