We pick up from last time after that flash of light exploded in the sky above Orient City. Hisaki has survived being near an explosion that could be felt by everyone below and looks mostly fine, aside from the fact that his hero suit came undone and now he's falling head down back towards the ship. He panics about this and figures the smoke obscured him from view, which is why his transformation was cancelled, then screams bloody murder.
You manage to catch sight of Hisaki falling out of the sky because the moonlight has bounced off of some of the accessories he's wearing, and you point Hisaki out to the rest of the party. Shouen takes action to save Hisaki from a death by falling from up high by triple casting Wall, and the kanji he writes zooms off into the sky. When they reach Hisaki, they act as cushions to absorb the impact of his fall, slowing him down considerably so that he's not all that banged up when he crashlands onto the ship's deck. You call out to Hisaki and welcome him back, glad that he's okay, and Hisaki tells you guys he managed to wipe out the satellite.
Upon hearing this, Purple and the other mafia villains collapse in despair, dropping their weapons and undoing their transformations. They ask to no one in particular if it's over now and if they're not even allowed to exact their revenge. Shouen doesn't respond, but Kyoichi snaps that what they tried to do goes way overboard to be called revenge. He's about to lay into them more about how they put the whole world in danger when Flamier asks if he'll keep the blame to a minimum. Kyoichi is surprised and sputters at this, but Flamier stops him from saying any more by smiling at him and pressing a finger to his mouth.
Flamier asks you guys to let her handle this, so you ask her what she plans to do. Flamier talks about how the mafia have a grudge against her father. Since it's thanks to their efforts that she has the life she's had, she considers it her duty to apologize for any wrongdoing done to them. Ryekie attempts to protest against this, but Huckle stops him and asks him to let Flamier do what she thinks is best. He empathizes with her, saying he knows how it to have things put upon you for being born into a rich family.
Flamier walks over to the lead mob as her footsteps echo in the silent launchpad. Purple hasn't gone totally catatonic as he asks what Flamier wants. If she's there to give him sympathy or pity, he says he has no right to accept it from her. If anything it'd be a disgrace to him. Flamier says it's not that as she says she thought about doing what her father couldn't in his place. Purple is confused by this, so Flamier says she was raised the way she was thanks to their efforts. But despite all they've done, Flamier's father rendered all their efforts a waste. Flamier intends to apologize to the mobs for that, though she doesn't know if they'll be satisfied with that. She then gives her apologizes for all that they've went through.
Purple is offended at the gesture, so much so that he grabs Flamier and lifts her up. Akashi calls out to her and is about to run in when Flamier asks him to not do anything. You protest that she's in danger, but Flamier insists it's okay and asks that you leave this to her. Purple starts punching Flamier across the face, and after Flamier takes the damage she puts her serious face back on and stares at the mob. This sets Purple off further and he attacks her some more, yelling about her looking down on him and not knowing how they felt to be brought into this situation.
Flamier keeps her expression resolute even through the repeated punches, and she starts talking about how she can't know how he feels. The only thing she's sure of is that his suffering must be more painful than what she's feeling now, and she apologizes again while promising to let her father know about this. Purple continues punching Flamier, but they steadily weaken as he loses resolve until he puts Flamier back on her feet again. He falls to his knees and cries about the lines he's crossed, regretting either that or regretting that he failed despite going so far. Flamier gently hugs the guy's head to her as she apologizes again, then asks if she can handle what comes next. Hisaki expresses concern for Flamier, and Shouen comments that it's not easy to carry a family name since that burdens you with both the reputation and ill will against it associated with that name. His master and student suffered all the time because of it. Kyoichi agrees with the point and notes that Flamier had her own troubles too.
At that point, a bunch of sirens and boat engine noises blare out from outside the ship, and soon after a familiar guy shows up at the launchpad. Barrel announces the presence of the Orient City police and says they know what the villains are doing thanks to the live broadcast that was going on. He demands they surrender before he's thrown off by how quiet the place is since he figured there'd be a battle going on. You call out to Barrel and note that the police have come, and Purple slowly gets up and walks over to Barrel. He says he doesn't care anymore and asks Barrel to arrest him. The rest of the mafia follow suit without argument, baffling Barrel into asking what happened. You shrug and say stuff or stay quiet, and either way Barrel remains confused.
Time passes as you all get on the police's patrol boats for a ride back to shore. Kyoichi asks Flamier if she's really okay because her face is starting to swell. Flamier says she's fine, apologizing for worrying everyone else before asking Kyoichi to rest. Medical staff urge Flamier to go inside for some treatment, and Gammei asks about Flamier managing to convince the villains to surrender. He also talks about how he's now thinking about how the distortions created by a giant megacorp could manifest itself like this.
Barrel points out that the case is closed for now though, and the emergency situation in town should be calming down. He's tired after running around everywhere breaking up fights, and Gammei says that having everyone's thoughts broadcasted caused it all. Even dealing with the small stuff has been rough. Barrel is surprised and asks if Gammei is bothered about something, but Gammei says it's nothing and was worried about leaks. Barrel nods at this and says he was never affected, so he never thought about that. Gammei sighs and apologizes, saying he forgot that Barrel is an idiot. Barrel is shocked at this and says he doesn't get why he's being treated as dumb, and you either sympathize with Gammei for all he does, say Barrel being upfront is his good point, or wonder if this is the difference between people who think before they act. A gets an extra line where Gammei thanks you and says you did great work despite having a lot to do. B has a different extra line where Barrel is pleased by that and says he feels better now.
Anyways, Akashi sighs in exhaustion saying he's tired both mentally and physically. Huckle compliments everyone for all the work they've done. Ryekie says even he and Huckle don't take on a case this big that often, so he's touched by how everyone worked together so hard to achieve justice. He then compliments you and Akashi for your efforts too as he pulls you guys into a hug. Akashi attempts to ask Ryekie to stop since it's hurting him a little, and you either ask Ryekie to stop too, say you can smell the scent of sweat coming your way, or be happy to be hugged by Ryekie. In A and B, Huckle tries to get Ryekie to stop for your sakes. In C, Akashi is baffled at how you seem fine and even happy about this.
Hisaki laughs and comments on how well you all get along. Akashi complains about Hisaki acting like he's not involved, but Hisaki says friendly hugs are standard back in America. Barrel agrees with him, saying it's not much if you haven't been kissed so far. Ryekie is shocked he's never thought about using a kiss to express affection before, and he's about to start doing so when Akashi loudly protests against it and tells the other two not to give him weird ideas.
Hisaki decides to thank everyone for their help again, saying it's because of you all that the incident was solved without issue. He also thanks you guys for helping him through his doubts along the way, though he feels there's no way to ever fully express that. Akashi asks if he's really okay with how it all ended since his system is gone now. Hisaki says it's fine since it stopped being his system by that point, and now that it's gone he can go make something even better. He's lived his whole life by trial and error, so a little setback isn't going to get him down. Akashi is surprised by this, so Hisaki teases him for worrying about him. Akashi gets mad at this and sputters, and you either ask if Hisaki really is okay with this, say you're glad he's back to his usual self, or call Akashi a nice guy. C gets an extra line where he calls you a jerk and tells you not to pile on too.
Hisaki admits to being a little down about what's happened, but he also feels it's a waste to quit because you've failed and get depressed by that. He's already thinking about his next project, and this time it'll be better than before. This will be the one that'll get him the attention of the world and the universe! You either sigh about his motivation being the attention, call him incorrigible, or call him tough. In A, Hisaki cops to it and moves right into inviting you over to his place on your next day off. In B, Hisaki is unfazed as he asks you to call him a tough guy instead, then asks you to visit him on your next day off. In C, Hisaki laughs and brags about it a little before inviting you over on your day off. And in any case, Hisaki says he'll show you how good he is at building things and how stubborn he can be.
Some time later, Shouen is standing on the ship's deck and staring absentmindedly at Orient City as the morning sun rises. Kyoichi walks up and asks if Shouen is cold, so Shouen answers he isn't and the breeze feels nice after how tired he is from work. Plus it helps since he's in the middle of thinking about something. Kyoichi sadly comments that this incident gave a lot to think about, and Shouen agrees as he talks about understanding how many ways people can express their feelings. So many different emotions make up people's lives. Kyoichi agrees, saying while there's a lot of things people are better off not knowing, he's gained something out of all this at least. Once they get back to shore and school opens up again, he'll go address the thing he needs to address as soon as possible.
Shouen smiles at Kyoichi as he thinks about his own stuff for a moment. He talks aloud about how not getting your feelings across means things haven't actually ended and things can't begin. Kyoichi asks if something is wrong, so Shouen decides to tell Kyoichi he'll be out of town starting tomorrow for a bit. He asks if Kyoichi can take care of things until he gets back. Kyoichi agrees, though he's surprised at the request and asks where Shouen is going. All Shouen says in response is that he has somewhere he has to go to now.
Title card pops up, and this chapter is called The World Made By People's Feelings.
Several days after Valentine's, narration notes that Orient City has mostly gotten back to its usual self aside from trace concerns. We then tune in specifically to Parallel Flight's office where Toshu has come to visit and Mokdai has come back from his vacation. Toshu comments on how nice some chocolate bean jelly is and how he likes that it doesn't have that usual chocolatey cloying taste. Mokdai laughs and agrees, saying it was a good thing he bought the thing since it said it was a limited seasonal item. You can then either ask Toshu about his waterfall training trip or ask Mokdai about his trip home.
In A, Toshu mentions that Ina Valley in winter was cold even for him, but thanks to that he feels like he's really purified his heart and says the trip was worth it. Akashi shudders at the thought of how it must have been and is surprised Toshu didn't catch a cold. Toshu says their regular training is different, then suggests that Akashi try it out too and shape up a bit. Akashi quickly declines, saying a normal human would probably die trying that. In B, Mokdai says he was able to relax thanks to you guys and hands you a souvenir. He then apologizes for being out during a crisis and wonders if he should've come back sooner. Ryekie laughs and says he doesn't need to worry about it. Back when it was just him and Huckle, things were hard, but now you and Akashi are around too. The case has been solved with no problems, so Mokdai doesn't need to feel down. If anything, Ryekie is glad that Mokdai has freshened up. Mokdai concedes the point, then tells you you can go take a vacation if you want, as he'll cover for you.
Akashi asks Toshu what brings him over today since it probably wasn't about eating bean jelly. Toshu remembers that he has a letter from Shouen he was asked to bring over, so he pulls out a scroll and hands it to you. You are surprised about it being a scroll and asks if it's for you. Toshu confirms and says he was told it's about Shouen wanting to say something he wanted to say back then. Mokdai is surprised, commenting that it's fitting that Shouen wrote on a scroll rather than send a text or email. Akashi is curious and asks if you talked with Shouen about something. You either wonder what he means or remember what you talked about, and you start to read the scroll.
Shouen's letter starts off with an apology about the sudden message. By the time you're reading it he should be on a ship to his home planet. Since he can't talk to you directly in that case, he went with this instead. Anyways, he brings back up about how he talked with you and Hisaki about his past back in the car, saying he had intended to keep it to himself for the rest of his life as a warning to himself. He never expected to start talking about it to anyone.
Back during that car conversation, you had asked Shouen about the idea of getting things off his chest by talking about them and asked how he felt afterwards. He was too preoccupied at the time to answer, but he can do so now that he's sorted his thoughts and worked up the will to take action. He does in fact feel a little bit better, and while he says the load has lifted a little it's different from his thanks towards his student. It's more that he's finally figured out his feelings, and in doing so he's understood something. Shouen says that while it may be virtuous to keep something hidden, he's learned that talking things out with someone that he needs to process can help him move on. He wanted to thank you for showing him that, and he's taking actions to put the feelings he's been carrying around to rest. Once he's back, he'd like to tell you and Hisaki about how that went.
Scene shifts over to where Shouen is on his flight as Digram thanks everyone for boarding and announces that the ship will shortly be passing through the warp gate to go to Planet 8 of the Anijum/Regdab star system. The ship will shake a bit during the warp due to the spatial distortion, so he asks that people remain seated and have their seat belts on. Shouen folds up the letter he was writing, and he apologizes out loud to his student for being so late. Now that he's found his determination, he intends to visit their grave and be honest about everything. The space ship then heads to the warp gate circling the moon, then zips over to the system his home planet is at.
Back to your end you nod, saying Shouen's gone to settle things and wish him luck. Akashi asks what you mean, so Toshu says he'll understand when he becomes an adult. Akashi protests in shock that he is an adult and complains about how everyone treats him like a kid every time something happens. The topic does remind him of something, and he hands you a letter saying Kyoichi wanted to tell you something too. You express surprise at this and/or remember what this is about, and Akashi says he remembered Kyoichi saying he was going to talk about something after school today.
Scene shifts over to the Third Coastal Elementary school where Kyoichi works. School is over for the day so most students are on their way home. Kyoichi asks a certain student to come see him in an empty classroom so that he can talk about said student's feelings for him. The conversation tunes in at the point where Kyoichi is talking about how he's fallen in love a lot while he was in school and how it didn't work out a lot of the time. He's glad the student likes him and thanks them for it, but he says the student is also going to be seeing a lot of new people as things go on too and he'd be ashamed if he kept the kid from engaging with any of them. Kyoichi pats the kid on the head, and he says that if the kid still likes him when they grow up, he'll be serious about considering them. If that happens, Kyoichi asks that the kid come up to him and confess how they feel again then. He apologizes for not being able to answer now, but he promises he'll wait. The kid agrees to the suggestion.
Back at the office, Huckle is finishing up a phone call, which Ryekie asks him about. Huckle answers that he was talking to Flamier, and she called to tell him she seems to have worked out something when she went to talk with her father. Akashi asks if this is about the mafia mobs and asks what the decision was. Huckle says that Flamier's father had never been informed about the villains' firings from his company from his subordinates back in the day, so it was a big surprise to him. He's promised to make arrangements to rehire them all if they want it after getting released from custody or prison, and he'll go apologize to them in person. His subordinates were against it though. You are surprised about this outcome for the villains, say you're glad he's so understanding, or be surprised at how fast they work. Akashi is glad things have worked out for the villains too, but Ryekie says it's less the villains were saved and more they were able to go back to where they used to be. In the end, they'll decide where they want to go after their sentence ends.
Scene shifts over to where Flamier is at the spaceport. She laughs to herself, prompting her father to ask her why. Flamier says it's nothing much, just her remembering how she had never seen her father look so angry before. He says of course he'd be that way what with how the actions taken behind his back led to disastrous consequences to the people of the city and his own daughter. As someone who upholds the reputation of his company and as a father, he could never forgive such a thing. He then asks Flamier if she's really okay now.
Flamier says he's worrying too much and that she's not so delicate that she'd make a fuss over the injuries she took. She's a hero, and if she can save people and help people move forward, then that's all the happiness she needs. Flamier's father decides not to push the question any further, saying that he does worry about her continuing as a hero, but if she's proud of it then he's happy for her. He tells her to keep at it, and if it ever gets to be too much for her, she can always go to him. He promises to always watch over her, and Flamier thanks him.
Back at the office again, Crowne walks in greeting everyone and then taking a bit of the chocolate jelly since she thinks it looks good. Toshu is highly upset at her taking the last piece, and Mokdai reproaches her saying that was meant for Toshu as he's a guest. Crowne apologizes before processing that and asks if she's not a guest herself. She then brings up that Mokdai should still have some more and suggests bringing them out instead of keeping it to himself.
Mokdai reluctantly admits that she's right, so Toshu shyly asks for some more. Mokdai gives in and says he'll go cut it into pieces. Huckle is taken aback at Crowne's audacity as he comments on how outrageous she always is. Akashi says she's fearsome in her own way to not be afraid of Toshu. You either yell at Crowne for being rude, express sympathy for Mokdai, or comment to Toshu for liking that chocolate. In A, Crowne is surprised and promises she won't steal snacks again. In B, Akashi is surprised to see another ten pieces and wonders if it's for Toshu instead of Mokdai eating them himself. In C, Toshu is embarrassed at that and insists that it's not like he likes sweets or anything! Mokdai then comes back with more chocolate and offers them, and Toshu hangs his head as he says he'll have some.
Anyways, Huckle asks Crowne about if something's up since she normally calls ahead instead of showing up unannounced like when she brought Hisaki over. Crowne explains that she's off today and decided to swing by on her way over after visiting Hisaki. Otherwise she hardly ever leaves that airport island. Since Crowne brought up Hisaki's name, Akashi starts wondering about how he's doing. Huckle says his name's been cleared since it's known that the villains caused the incident, but he hopes Hisaki hasn't been disheartened by the big case. Crowne laughs at the idea, saying while he was depressed by what happened, he was fine when she saw him earlier. He never learns, and he's already working on something new. You wonder what he could be researching, so Crowne shrugs. All he said was something about a different method for connecting people's hearts.
Scene then shifts over to Hisaki's lab as his father asks if he's sure about shredding all his research materials. It may sound weird coming from him, but he knows how much work Hisaki had put into all that. The incident may have happened, but it wasn't all Hisaki's fault. Hisaki blithely says he doesn't need it anymore so he's fine with that. He says his methods were wrong, and no matter how convenient it is a machine shouldn't be reading people's thoughts. People shouldn't hold back on making the effort to understand one another, and people having different thoughts, figuring out how to communicate, and building relationships is what makes them people. So, Hisaki wants to restart from scratch to make something that will help people create a world with their thoughts. Getting rid of the notes he has now is just decluttering.
Hisaki's father relents, and Hisaki says there has to be another way to support the development of society while considering others. He intends to make something handy that no one's seen before and with that help make a world where more people can be happy. Hisaki is sure he can make it happen, and he swears to achieve that goal even if he has to make some adjustments. Hisaki then throws out the shredded papers into the garbage before wiping his forehead and looking outside He psyches himself up to get to work again, then tells the universe to wait for him. The End.
thx for translation! do you happen to translate the character quest? or go straight to chapter 3?
