Live A Hero Golden Spirit of Dawn Episode 12

We pick back up from last time with the appearance of a giant ass Kaibutsu roaring, which narration points out before describing how the thing can stand shoulder to shoulder with the nearby ruined buildings that go at least ten stories high. The freakish thing truly is piercing the sky, but the party is still fighting it regardless. In fact we have skipped a bit as the party has been roughed up as Akashi and Procy fire off their finishers at the monster. Barrel breathes hard to catch his breath as he notes how tough the thing is. Akashi says that the monster not reacting to you guys throwing your full strength at it is demoralizing. You see that everyone is getting tired, so you ask Gomeisa to heal them.

Gomeisa follows your command, and he asks everyone to regroup so he can heal them all at once. Akashi moves to do so, apologizing and thanking him. The other three can't hide their worries in the face of the Kaibutsu, and Akashi points out how big it is and wonders what its deal is. Barrel estimates that it must be at least 100 m/ ~328 ft on the lowballing side, and it has been forever since he's seen one that size. Procy meanwhile is looking around looking for something, then catches sight of the villain in the shadows. He takes it as confirmation that they lured the thing over, but he's still surprised they got one so big to come. You ask Procy what he means.

Procy tells you it's not important and that it'd be better for you to not know what sort of tricks assholes come up with. But that aside, this is a dire situation to be in as he says you guys can't leave that monster alone. Barrel agrees, saying to the north of Southern Kanto is the city of Saitama while to the east is Chiba. And back to the west is Orient City. Akashi means that if you guys don't defeat it, the Kaibutsu will attack one of those places. If so, then that means you guys don't have any other choice but to go after it. Procy says that's the deal, then tells the two to hang in there and focus, so Akashi and Barrel yell in acknowledgment. They jump forward as Gomeisa tries to call after them, his eyes filled with a mix of frustrations and fear.

Title card pops up, and this chapter is called For Tomorrow's Smiles.

Afterwards, Mokdai starts commenting on how you guys have been in a cycle of hurting and healing, but you guys will hit a limit if that keeps going. Fortunately you guys have tons of views coming in. You agree and wonder what to do about this. Mokdai says that even if you guys can't beat it, it'd be enough to push it back to the dimensional space it came from. He looks around to see if there are any ideas he can come up with. Gomeisa quietly looks up at the Kaibutsu, then suddenly starts talking to no one. He asks, "what are you trying to say?" You turn to him in confusion.

Barrel yells at Gomeisa to watch out, shocking him. Barrel then calls out his finisher Unlimited Gun Works Bullseye "Bang&Bang&Bang" which causes extra guns besides the ones in his hands to materialize behind him to unload on the Kaibutsu with concentrated firepower. The shower of energy bullets cut through the monster's tentacles. You ask if this is his finisher, say it's super flashy, or say it's so like him.

Barrel cheers for himself after shooting his load, only to be caught off guard that the Kaibutsu's honeycombed tentacles regenerate rapidly. The monster swings back at Barrel in retaliation, which slams him with enough force to throw him into a building behind him, and the impact causes a lot of cracks to form. He grunts in pain, and Gomeisa and Akashi yell in alarm for him. Akashi then forms a fireball in his hand, and you either say you're getting mad, tell Akashi to calm down, or say you won't forgive the Kaibutsu. A and C has Procy yelling at Akashi to calm down since his energy distribution is falling apart while B has Procy agree with you before saying that same thing.

Procy points out that Gomeisa is heading towards Barrel, and that he can heal him since he's transformed. In the mean time, the two of them will have to keep the Kaibutsu from interfering with that, so Akashi apologizes for losing his cool and says he's okay. Akashi then asks you to operate and command them in a way that won't impede the healing, which you acknowledge.

Meanwhile, Gomeisa runs over to Barrel and asks if he's okay. Barrel admits he's not doing that well as his chest hurt when he tried to stand up, so some of his ribs seem to be broken. Gomeisa says his healing can't reach the bones, but he still casts his heal on Barrel for now. His visible wounds disappear, and Barrel is amazed as he says most of the pain is gone now before thanking Gomeisa.

Gomeisa apologizes for letting himself get distracted. Barrel says he doesn't need to do that, and more importantly he suggests that they return to the battle lines. He asks Gomeisa to continue his work on the back lines, then runs off ahead. Gomeisa calls after him in concern, and Barrel stumbles off awkwardly gritting his teeth. Gomeisa then looks at his hands, which are able to heal anyone but have not actually protected anyone before. He talks to himself about being protected again, even though he was determined to stand up in the face of things that frightened him. But here he is, hanging back in fear. He then starts thinking of what he can do to protect the people he cares about when he fears fighting, hurting, and being hurt. Then he balls up his fists as he seems to have an idea.

Back to the battle, Akashi wonders out loud in annoyance about how much the Kaibutsu must have eaten on other planets. They've been attacking it for a while now, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Procy however says he can definitely tell that the monster's movements are slowing down, and while he admits it's hard to see, you guys should find a chance to win if you keep up the attacks. Akashi brings up the possibility that you guys will burn out before then, but Procy cuts him off and says something is coming from his right.

Akashi is caught off guard by the tentacle that Barrel had blown off earlier crawling for him. Barrel calls out to him, and he tries to line up some shots to save him, but the pain causes his aim to drift. He curses the pain for acting up at this point, but Gomeisa calls out for his green winds to gather. Illusionary leaves collect in front of Akashi, who reacts in surprise to the leaves bouncing the tentacle away like a cushion. The Kaibutsu also reacts in surprise as Gomeisa declares he won't let it hurt anyone anymore, and you call out Gomeisa's name.

Gomeisa walks out and stands further out front of Akashi, glaring at the Kaibutsu with a serious look in his eyes. Akashi is concerned, thanking Gomeisa for his help but saying it's dangerous for him to be standing over there. Procy also tells Gomeisa to stand back, but Gomeisa says he doesn't want to be the one being protected all the time anymore. The monster roars a bit, and Procy says it's coming. A tentacle lashes out, but Gomeisa kicks it back, his foot glowing a jade green aura. Akashi is amazed that Gomeisa can do that, and Gomeisa starts talking about how he doesn't like fighting and likely never will. But despite and because of that, he feels it's wrong to never fight and stay as someone being protected.

Flashback happens where Huckle talks about how someone who is good at fighting can go protect someone who hates it. People who are good at fighting do so to remove conflict so that more people can live without having to fight themselves. It's necessary for the peace Gomeisa loves so much. And back to the present, Gomeisa continues his speech, saying there should be a way for him to end the battle in his own way without having to fight. He then says he'll end it through his own methods of fighting.

Barrel is surprised by Gomeisa, who swears he won't cry and tremble like he did in the past before, nor will he depend on Procy. He'll fight in his own way to create peace, because he is a hero. The Kaibutsu yells, and Gomeisa says it's attacking again. Akashi and Procy attack to repel the tentacles aiming for Gomeisa, and the force of their attacks cause the monster to lose its balance and fall over. Gomeisa turns to the two and calls to them, and Procy says he's so slow to find his resolve. Akashi adds that it feels like he finally did it, then points out that he's not the only one fighting. Barrel agrees, saying they're all working together. He then asks to see how Gomeisa will fight up close, and Gomeisa is moved by everyone's words. You suggest that everyone joins their strength together to defeat the monster and say you'll support them.

Gomeisa turns to you, then agrees, smiling wide. Procy says there's no longer a front and back line, then says they'll all be going in staggering their attacks. You guys are taking this thing right here, right now. The party yells back in acknowledgment. Mokdai points out that the Kaibutsu is getting back up, then wishes you guys luck. You nod, declaring the battle live is continuing and tell everyone to do their best as the episode battle launches. More story afterwards.

After the battle, the story picks up towards the end of it as Procy pants, saying the Kaibutsu has been weakened. Barrel agrees, noting that it's almost stopped moving. Akashi points out that you guys are also reaching your limits, and you try to rally the guys to keep it up just a bit longer. Akashi does his best to hang on, while Gomeisa stands there quietly looking up to the monster writhing in pain. He asks if it's lonely, sadness filling his eyes. Barrel tries to ask Gomeisa if he's okay, so Gomeisa asks the party if he can handle what's left of the battle. You are confused but agree, then ask if he can pull it off.

Procy notes that if Gomeisa is saying all that, he must have a plan then. Gomeisa admits he doesn't, but says it looks like the Kaibutsu is lonely to him. Barrel is confused at that, so Gomeisa says it just looks that way to him. He wants to try returning it home so it won't feel that way anymore. He wants to try talking to it, even if it won't listen to him. Gomeisa puts on a sort of charming look on his face as he raises his right hand, then starts dancing. No one is playing music or making a beat with their hands, yet he dances smoothly without missing a step. He calls out to all the warriors scattered across the universe and his siblings, asking them to dance with him and asking the Kaibutsu to get along and play with everyone.

Green crystals of light form in Gomeisa's hands before flying up and surrounding the Kaibutsu. Gomeisa then spreads his arms and shouts, calling out his finisher Deep Affection "Dansaque Tripath" (or something similar). His every move causes particles of light fly around like sand, which then wraps up the monster. This light forms a cage, as though formed by woven vines or spreading plant roots. Akashi is amazed as he comments on the beauty of it, then notices his wounds are healing and asks why. Barrel adds that the pain from his broken bones seem to be fixed now too despite being told Gomeisa couldn't fix them. He then asks if this is Gomeisa's finisher, then asks what's actually happening as he looks inside the cage. You stay silent then/or say you see something.

You see a bunch of giants around the cage that look very similar to Gomeisa, though far taller, burlier, and half transparent. The giants match Gomeisa's movements, and they sing and dance as one. They look as though they're having fun, wishing for a world without conflict like Gomeisa does. Mokdai is confused and asks why you're looking up, and you either react with confusion of your own or point out the giants. If you go with B, Mokdai doesn't really understand as he says Gomeisa is a giant, but he's not that tall. Either way he tries pointing the camera up in the same direction, and you wonder if only you can see them.

Procy reacts in shock as he points out that the cage is opening up. The Kaibutsu is steadily shrinking within the cage, going from tens of meters, to about ten meters, to less than that. Barrel notices this in surprise. By the time the cage disappears, the monster is less than a meter tall. It seems to moan as it looks up, showing no signs of going on a rampage. You see what seems to be a drop of water fall from its apparent eyes, and you wonder aloud if it's crying. The next instant it starts glowing and turning into bits of light, and it quietly disappears into the sky as if returning home of its own will.

Gomeisa sympathizes with the Kaibutsu, then ends his dance by lowering his hands and lining his feet up. Peace then falls upon the ruined city again. Akashi asks if it's over since the monster is gone now, and Barrel talks about how it disappeared in a way he's never seen before, like it left on its own. Procy thinks upon how this is Gomeisa's fighting style, then says it suits him. Gomeisa apologizes to and thanks the Kaibutsu, then says he feels like danced with the others for the first in a long time. You ask him what he did just now. Gomeisa admits that he doesn't understand much either, saying that when he noticed, the monster was already caged up. He does say he thought about wanting to heal its heart though.

Gomeisa talks about how the villains you guys fought up to this point must have had their own reasons for fighting. If he can learn what those reasons are, then he can start looking for a way to find mutual understanding. He could also more precisely heal hearts and bodies that are on edge rather than doing so in broad strokes. He's sure he could find a way to end things besides having one side win and the other lose.

Gomeisa continues talking, saying he felt strongly about wanting to protect everyone, but he also wanted to know what the Kaibutsu was rampaging. Through that, he somehow came to see that the monster was lonely and wanted to go back somewhere. That's why Gomeisa danced his heart out, wishing that it wouldn't be lonely anymore and that it could go back to wherever.

Barrel thinks on the idea of healing the Kaibutsu's heart, then on the idea of approaching the hearts of those on the side of evil to end battles rather than punishing them. He comments that that is Gomeisa's method for creating the peace he believes in, his justice. Barrel then stows his gun away and smiles, saying he's no match for Gomeisa in more ways than one. He comments that it's a big world, so he still has more to learn.

Procy starts talking to Gomeisa, so Gomeisa asks him his thoughts on how he fought. There are hints of tears in his eyes, but he still smiles sweetly for Procy. Procy says he did good, hugging Gomeisa's head to his chest and patting him. Gomeisa is surprised for a moment, then smiles in relief.

Some time later, Procy suggests it's time to head back since it's getting late. Barrel either apparently tries to hotwire the car or tries to start it as normal, and he cheers when it starts up again so that you guys can take it back to the city. Akashi is taken aback at how the roof has been torn off, but he notes that some sacrifices have to be made. Mokdai asks that Barrel not drive too fast since you guys have a lot of luggage on board. Barrel assures you guys that he'll get you back safe and sound as he asks you guys to believe in his driving skills. You either quip that you aren't comforted, decide that if you get home then it'll be okay, or say the breeze ought to be nice. C has Barrel saying you're an optimist as he agrees while Akashi is baffled as he says he sometimes wishes he had your personality.

Procy is a little worried that the patrol car can't move very fast as is and says he'll slow down for you guys. He's then shocked by a sudden movement, and Gomeisa has crammed himself into Procy's motorbike's sidecar saying he got in today too. Procy is annoyed at this and points out that there's a car today he could be riding in. He tells him to go over there because he's going to kill his fuel efficiency dammit.

Gomeisa looks so heartbroken at the idea of not riding with Procy, so Procy reluctantly gives in and says he won't be responsible if his back hurts. He also tells him to put his helmet on, which he already had inside the seat. Gomeisa is all smiles after he puts the helmet on, and you either say he's strong in all sorts of ways, say he's cute, or say you're jealous. A and B has Barrel get depressed at the idea that Gomeisa doesn't believe in his driving ability, though Mokdai says that's probably not why he's not in the car. In C, Barrel asks you in shock about not having any faith in his driving, but Akashi thinks you meant that in a different way, maybe. Anyways, Procy leads the way, and the car follows after him as you guys depart. The episode ends as evening sets on the wasteland while you all head towards the lights of the skyscrapers in the distance.
