Live A Hero Chapter 3 Episode 4: Chasing After Someone Impossible

Some time after the party is done with work for the moment, you all go out to eat somewhere in the city with Hitomi and Kouki. Mokdai is enjoying himself and says it's been forever since he's been to a high class viking smorgasbord. He also comments on how much clout an entertainment agency has to be able to reserve a private room here before happily returning to the huge pile of meat dishes in front of him. You either comment that you feel nervous about being here, say you've never been to a place like this before, or be taken aback at all the meat Mokdai has. B gets some extra lines where Mokdai takes an interest in that fact and tells you that if you work with rich agencies, they oftentimes bring you to places like these.

In any case, Crowne is taken aback at Mokdai piling a bunch of stuff of just the stuff he likes in front of him, which she notes is all fatty when she takes a closer look. She's a little surprised his stomach can fit all that. Mokdai is embarrassed and says it was so delicious that he couldn't help himself, but then he realizes Crowne's got a bunch of hard beer in front of her and says he doesn't have to take that from her. Crowne laughs off him noticing, then says they both can just take whatever they like and enjoy themselves. ~The privileges of being a working adult~. Mokdai agrees with the point and goes back to eating. You comment on Crowne and Mokdai connecting over the weirdest of things, gasp at them being awful at adulting, or tell them they'll wreck themselves that way.

Meanwhile, Maculata has picked some stuff up for Kouki and hands his dish to him. He thanks her and is about to eat when she notices that he took out the veggies she put in and tells him he has to eat them. Kouki whines like the kid he is saying he hates them and didn't ask her to get any to begin with. Maculata says that nutritional balance is a thing and that veggies are good for the skin. Also, if he only eats the things he likes he'll just turn into a sloppy fatty. Crowne and Mokdai wince at this, and you can either ask if they're listening, say it might be too late for Mokdai, or say you see a smudge on Crowne's face. In A, Mokdai reluctantly says he'll get some vegetables too while Crowne says she'll take a break from drinking...tomorrow. In B, Mokdai protests that he can still slim down if he makes an effort to lose weight. In C, Crowne tells you to not focus on these weird things and wonders if her slacking off on self-care has come back to haunt her.

In any case, Kouki complains about Maculata being a nag. Maculata says that if she doesn't do so, Kouki would just grow up into a selfish brat living a directionless life, so she's doing this alongside looking after his clothes. Kouki tries to argue that she should nag Sirius too for eating only meat, but Maculata points out that Sirius is a dog and built that way while Kouki is not. Both of them complain about how difficult the other is being, and you can either comment that it's tough being a tailor, say Maculata is like a mom, or comment on Kouki still being a kid. B gets extra lines where Maculata is shocked at that and says she's not old enough to have a kid Kouki's age. Kouki agrees, saying his own mom (should be) a lot younger and prettier, pissing Maculata off with the old lady treatment again. C gets other extra lines where Kouki protests that he's a working adult now. Maculata says working adults don't fuss over their food and tells him to eat his veggies already.

Hitomi pays no attention to Kouki and Maculata's squabbling as she excitedly tells you guys the restaurant just brought out a fresh baked German cake and points out how cute they made the cream dressing on it. She decides she has to upload a pic of it to her social media profiles, and you either comment on her getting excited, agree that the cake looks cute and tasty, or suggest she take a selfie with you in it. In A, Hitomi says that idols have to like cute and sweet things. Kouki is confused as he brings up that Hitomi's favorite dish is okonomiyaki with yakisoba and tons of sauce on it, but she tries to shush him before he breaks her image. In B, Hitomi agrees and says you might be able to get one baked for you right now if you ask. In C, Hitomi thinks that's a great idea and says a work selfie with someone with her on the job is a very idol thing to do. She then prompts you to get in next to her and bring your cheeks closer before she takes the shot.

Kouki tells Hitomi to not get too excited or else she'll come off less as an entertainer and more like a hick. Hitomi asks Sui's opinion on whether she's acting cute, and Sui is surprised out of her thoughts before agreeing. Hitomi cheers about Sui agreeing with her and says she wants to thank her for the outfit she designed for her live show last time. Sui has problems keeping up, but she says she's glad Hitomi likes it. Hitomi says she's always thought that Sui has tons of cute design ideas and hopes to keep working with her. Sui stammers the same in return, and Hitomi finally notices that Sui seems out of it. You note that Sui is saying less than usual and ask if something is on her mind. Sui claims it's nothing and asks if she's being weird, leading Crowne to be concerned with her.

Some time later, Mokdai sighs in satisfaction and says he wishes the rest of the office was around to join in too. Despite literally saying he was full five seconds ago, he notices Crowne still has some snacks left untouched and asks if he can have them. Crowne suggests he look up what "full" means because it doesn't mean what he seems to think it means, then she gulps the last of her beer. Maculata suggests heading out now and says she's settled the bill. She also tells Crowne that she's been drinking premium craft beer which comes at an extra cost, so she has to pay for that herself. Crowne attempts to wheedle Maculata into paying that for her, so Maculata suggests she just invoice Parallel Flight for her drinking expenses. Crowne claims she was joking and promises she'll pay for her booze.

Just as everyone is about to leave the restaurant, the party hears screaming coming from outside and runs to check. Monsters are running about again, and Kouki says it's unusual for them to appear twice in one day. But anyways, Kouki asks you to transform them since you're an Operator. Hitomi agrees with the idea since you're right here while her regular Operator contact is further away, so you comply and start to activate their transformations. Maculata delays you for a moment so that she and Mokdai can get in on this, and she tells Mokdai this will be an after lunch workout. Mokdai mentions it hurts a little to have eaten so much, but he's ready for it so you start up the transformations for all four.

Crowne says she'll handle the camera and that she's warmed up to a good spot. Since this is the second fight of the day, Crowne asks Sui to get some backup camera batteries ready for her. Sui is still spacing out despite the situation at hand and takes a moment before she tunes back in to comply. Mokdai psychs up and says he's ready to go. Hitomi asks for a camera to point at her for a second before declaring her bangs on point. Kouki tells Hitomi they should end this fight with a bang, and the episode battle begins as Maculata says she'll punish naughty children as many times as it takes if once isn't enough. More story happens after that.

After the battle, we pick back up at the point where the Kaibutsu are defeated. Mokdai says that was an easy win, though he does wish they wouldn't show up after a meal. He burps and wonders if he ate a little too much. Kouki is surprised at Mokdai and says he didn't eat just a 'little' too much, saying he reminds him of that one actor he was starring with earlier who was also a huge eater. He also comments that people like that don't make appearances often and nods to himself about understanding now. Mokdai is taken aback at the understanding bit and pouts.

Hitomi is bummed out that her voice attack caused some signpost to bend, so she physically straightens it and cheers about it for a second before realizing she did something not cute in public. She frantically asks if the camera is off, then sighs in relief when she sees it is. You are surprised and ask Hitomi what she just did, tell her she's still cute, or suggest she be proud of it as a special skill of hers. In A, Hitomi says she felt she had to do something and just fixed it in a jiffy. Kouki sighs that she's the only idol who would do such a thing. In B, Hitomi is happy to hear you say so. Kouki tells you not to baby her though because that's still a hell of a thing she just did even if you spin things positively. In C, Hitomi thinks about it but says it's still against her character as an idol. Mokdai sighs that it must be tough to be an idol at that.

Anyways, Mokdai says he's heard that Hitomi has as much power as old movie superheroes when she's out of hero mode before, but he's still surprised to see everything she's done in person. Hitomi laughs in embarrassment saying she normally holds back since it's not that cute. Crowne compliments Maculata on her moves and says she's top class no matter what she's doing. Maculata accepts the compliment, but tells Crowne that flattery isn't going to get her out of paying Maculata back for her drinks. Crowne is surprised Maculata saw through her, so Maculata says she's just that easy to read before asking Sui to get her a drink.

Sui moves to comply, but just as she turns around to get Maculata's bag, she hears an old familiar voice calling for her from an alleyway. When she turns to look, she sees her mother and immediately takes off to Maculata's surprise. No one is in said alleyway when she gets over there though, and you catch up shortly afterwards and ask Sui what she was talking about when she said she saw her mom. All she can say is that she was there, and her expression is crushed. You express concern for her and suggest she come back to where everyone is. She returns with you as prompted, but she mutters to herself quietly that her mother IS calling for her.

That night at the Ikebukuro Underground Colosseum hotel, Sui slowly sneaks out of her room so that Maculata won't hear her from next door. She apologizes for breaking her promise, but she says she has to go. Sui leaves the hotel and walks around outside where hardly anyone is around towards the Shinjuku train station, despite the trains having ended for the night. She comments she came too early as the next train isn't going to be running for another three hours, and if you guys wake up by then you'll all drag her back. She considers a taxi as she reaches into her pockets, but then she realizes she didn't bring her wallet with her. She left her room key behind, and her phone doesn't have enough money on it to pay for a ride to Archimedes Colony. With no other ideas coming to mind, she wanders around to the back side of the station.

Behind the station, Sui finds a loading bay for cargo and only one truck in at this point of time. The truck is loading things up and has a company logo painted on it, which Sui notices. It's for the Archimedes Express, and it takes Sui a moment to remember that it's a transport company over at Archimedes Colony. Andrew is the guy driving this truck and thanks the packing bots for their help, saying he'll be sure to get them over to Archimedes Colony.

Sui says Andrew looks like a kind guy, though it takes her a moment to notice that he's actually an android. She decides to try walking up to him as he locks the hatch to his truck and talk to him. Andrew comments on how unusual it is for anyone to be around at this time and wonders if Sui is just lost. He tries to say this area is employees only, but Sui cuts across him to ask if he's going to Archimedes Colony. He's surprised by this but answers that he is, and that it'll be four hours to get there if he's on schedule. Sui asks that he let her on in his truck, but Andrew has reservations about this thinking she's a kid. Sui says she's 19 years old and can take care of herself, then pleads for Andrew to help her.

Andrew is still concerned about this hitchhiking attempt and asks why Sui would want to go over there. Sui is surprised at this question but eventually admits it's so she can see her mother. Andrew starts nodding at this and comments on how human that reason is. Sui is surprised at this, so Andrew apologizes and explains he's fascinated by human behaviors. He thinks to himself for a moment before smiling, and he agrees to let Sui into the truck. He does say that she has to get out before he reaches his actual delivery site though. Sui thanks him, so Andrew introduces himself and asks Sui her name. She tells him before getting into the passenger seat at his urging, and the two of them drive off soon after.

Time passes to the morning and tunes back at the hotel, and Crowne tries ringing the bell to Sui's door to tell her the breakfast buffet will end soon. Maculata walks over to ask what's wrong because she could hear the repeated ringing from her room. Crowne apologizes, then says Sui hasn't been responding to anything. Maculata notes that this is strange since Sui usually wakes up early. Crowne says she hasn't been answering her phone either and wonders what's up.

Mokdai walks over having just eaten his fill. He greets you guys good morning and asks if you'll be going to the buffet yourselves soon. Crowne greets him back and says she was thinking of going down there together with Sui, and you either greet Maculata, wonder if Sui is getting ready, or comment on Mokdai being able to eat a lot in the morning. A gets extra lines with Maculata greeting you back before noting your hair is sticking out and that you need to be careful about that. Crowne jokes about Maculata making her back shudder when she's around, but Maculata says she needs to clean herself up too. Same goes for Mokdai, and she can see him trying to suck in his gut which shocks him. C has other extra lines where Mokdai says you need to eat breakfast because it can affect your performance for the day. He says the hotel food is great, especially their special jam. Maculata notes that Mokdai really is focused when it comes to food. He laughs and thinks it's a compliment, but Crowne tells him it's not.

Anyways, Crowne tells you that Sui doesn't seem to be up yet and that she's been ringing her bell. Though if she is oversleeping, this still seems like a bit much. Maculata starts worrying, then asks to pass by Crowne and puts her ear to the door. Maculata says she can't sense anyone inside, so Crowne asks Mokdai to get a hotel staff member to open the door. Maculata asks him to hurry on that since she's getting a bad feeling. Mokdai agrees and says he'll go call the front desk, and Maculata worries for Sui. Speaking of Sui, camera shifts over to her as she looks outside the truck and holds that bookmark close to her chest. She says she's coming for her mother right now, and so the episode ends.
