Live A Hero Chapter 3 Episode 3: I Can Hear the Calling

Narration briefly talks about Copernicus Colony on the moon's surface. It's a city built within a dome placed inside a crater, and it serves as the gateway to the Earth and is an important point for communications. There, you guys park Maculata's spaceship and leave the spaceport as you guys head into the main streets in town towards your destination. Maculata comments that while this is still better than going to some distant planet, it's still tiring to stay seated in a spaceship the whole time. Crowne points out that she'd be even more tired if she were driving the ship and says it was a good thing Crowne came along. Maculata agrees with the point and asks that she handle the return trip too.

Mokdai is curious about how Ikebukuro a lunar city is set up and says it's his first time there. Sui has a little laugh and asks if it's so weird since he's looking around like some country bumpkin. Mokdai insists in shock that Fukuoka is not the sticks, but he does admit it feels more provincial than Copernicus Colony. Sui tries to clarify that wasn't what she meant, but Mokdai is just glad she's smiling again. He doesn't say so that loudly, so Sui asks if he said something. Mokdai quickly denies doing so. You comment that this is your first time too, wonder if you guys will see the green wolfman, or try jumping to see what happens.

B gets an extra bit as Mokdai says Green unfortunately lives in a smaller town called Hind. It's a good place to live with the cats, and if you guys have time Mokdai wants to see them too. C gets a different extra bit where Mokdai decides to try jumping too. He's confused when nothing happens, and Sui asks what you two are doing. Crowne laughs and asks if you two saw some 20th century movies or something, but she understands wanting to try that out. But the thing is that cities where a lot of people from Earth moved in from have been paraterraformed to have the same gravity and atmosphere of Earth. The blue sky above is a hologram and sometimes they even make it rain, so it's not that much different from an Earth city. Mokdai is amazed at how technology has advanced and disappointed in the magic being gone.

Anyways, Crowne asks if the main office for Neotalents Production is further away. Maculata answers that it's actually pretty close now, though she didn't say she'd be bringing so many people and wonders if they'll let you in. Crowne isn't worried about that and says she can just kill time at nearby stores if she's kept out. She also says that a beer and steak after a job gets done tastes the best. Maculata comments that she sounds like some old man from a previous era.

Mokdai is excited about visiting Neotalents Production since it is a pretty big agency and there's a chance he'd see someone famous there. You ask if they're some sort of talent agency, so Mokdai explains that they've got a lot of pull on Earth and work on productions for actors and TV personalities that also act as heroes. They're a big name in the hero business side of things too, and their main center of activity is on the moon. He comments that Maculata must be pretty good to deal with them in her day job. Sui says Maculata used to be a model, so she used to be a part of them before she transferred out. It's that connection that sometimes brings in hero suit and equipment requests to her fashion design office. You either express shock that Maculata used to model, nod about that being why she's so fussy about appearances, or say she does have the looks for it.

In A, Maculata asks if it's that much of a surprise and says she does her best in whatever she can do. She still does modeling on the side sometimes even though she's a designer now, and she says it's fun to wear clothes she's designed to make herself even more charming. In B, Maculata tells you that "fussy" is an awful way to put it and that your appearance is your outermost part of your self. If you don't put any effort into making it look good, then people can see that about your inner self too. That's why she's always doing her best to make herself beautiful inside and out, get it right. In C, Maculata laughs and says cheap flattery won't work on her. She was even MORE awesome back when she was modeling full time, but she says she'll keep polishing herself so that you'll say so every time you see her.

Eventually the party reaches a big and pretty glass building. You guys go in, and Maculata goes to talk to reception for a bit. She manages to get you guys permission to come in and leads you further inside, where you ride an elevator up. Once you guys reach your target floor, Mokdai notices someone there. Hitomi comes up to greet Sui and Maculata, saying she hasn't seen them in a while and comments on their being here. Sui greets her back and compliments on her bangs looking nice today too. Hitomi thanks her and says that bangs are important to an idol.

Maculata introduces you guys to Hitomi as the people from Parallel Flight she's brought with her, so Hitomi greets you guys and gives her name as Hitomi Ayauta, but you can call her Hito-chan. You are either confused by this nickname, call her cute, or say you saw her on TV. B gets an extra line Hitomi thanks you and says it's a little embarrassing hearing it said to her face. You can't hog her though since idols belong to everyone.

Anyways, Mokdai gets excited about meeting Hitomi and considers asking for her autograph later. He then turns to you and asks if you know that Hitomi is that galaxy trekking idol hero Dokidoki☆Red. He also asks if you've seen her in commercials where she winks, holds a mic, and spouts her catchphrase. Sui tells Mokdai he's starting to rant and tells him to calm down in front of the person he's ranting about. Crowne is annoyed by Mokdai nerding out and reminds him you're all here on business so he needs to shape up. Mokdai quickly says he understands and pleads for Crowne to stop pulling on his ear.

Crowne apologizes for Mokdai's behavior, then introduces herself as a spaceship engineer, Mokdai as a hero despite his appearance, and you as the Operator. Hitomi politely greets you all again once she has your names, and Maculata starts bringing up that she's here for a job on Kouki's clothes. Hitomi says Kouki is here today, probably in his usual room. Maculata thanks her and says she and Sui will be splitting off for now. Mokdai asks if it's fine for you guys to not come along, so Sui says it might be difficult because there are professionals here. You wonder if they're hard to please and/or comment that that's how it is in show biz.

Maculata asks Hitomi if she can take the rest of the party to the cafe area, and Hitomi agrees since she's currently in between lessons right now. Maculata thanks her, telling Sui to come along with her and saying she'll see you guys later. Sui obeys, saying she's ready. The two of them do a quick check of their things before heading further in. Hitomi says it's time for her to show you guys to the cafe, though she admits like it's like right there a little further inside the floor. You say you need to use the restroom before then, so Hitomi tells you it's to the right and at the end of the hallway. Mokdai says the rest of them will go on ahead and see you when you're done.

Time passes as you do your business, then start heading back. Along the way though, a kid running towards you. This turns out to be Kouki, and he asks you to lie about having seen him since some scary people are chasing after him. He promises to thank you later and hides when he starts hearing footsteps. You either react to this sudden request with confusion or roll with it and agree. The latter has and extra line where Kouki laughs, glad that you're so quick on the uptake. Anyways, Kouki hides in a nearby office kitchen when some people in suits who look like managers run up to you and ask if you've seen a ten or so year old kid. You either say you haven't seen him, say he went that way, or stammer. C has the managers start wondering if Kouki went elsewhere given your reaction, then ask you to let them know if you see him before running off. Otherwise, they thank you and head off.

Once the guys leave and don't seem to be coming back anytime soon, you call to Kouki and tell him he can come out. He has his doubts, but he walks out and checks for himself. When he sees no one around, he sighs in relief. Kouki introduces himself to you at that point, though he then figures he didn't even need to do so since he assumes you know who he is. You either tell him you don't, politely greet him back, or say you've seen him on TV. In A, Kouki is surprised and asks if you don't watch TV since he takes so many roles and is a top biller in the office. In B, Kouki gets huffy about you being overly friendly with him since he's a famous actor. In C, Kouki casually notes that you do know who he is, though he's been in so many things he's lost count.

In any case, Kouki figures since you helped him out, he can give you an autograph later. He figures he may as well personalize it by writing it directly to you and asks for your name. You tell him what it is, and he casually says he'll remember it. You talk about how the guys chasing after him looked like managers and ask why he was running to begin with. Kouki snorts and looks like talking about this topic is boring to him, and he tells you it's none of your business at first before deciding he can tell you since he thinks you're okay. To answer, yes they are his managers and they had the nerve to tie him to a chair and force the rising star moneymaker to take lessons over Space Zoom.

You ask Kouki about him not liking schooling and say he needs to study. Kouki is unwilling to hear it and says he's already a working member of society. What does he need to throw hours down the drain like other stupidly honest elementary schoolers hitting the books for? He doesn't have forever, he's got better things to do! You call Kouki a problem child and/or a mouthy actor.

Around this point, you start hearing the sounds of animal feet approaching quickly. You barely have time to think that something is coming your way when Sirius runs up and jumps at Kouki. Kouki is surprised by this sudden appearance and tries to get Sirius to stop that and quiet down when he starts barking. Sirius ignores this in favor of licking Kouki's face and making more noise.

Sui follows the noise and calls to Maculata when she spots Kouki. Maculata sighs in frustration about Kouki hiding there while Kouki attempts to get Sirius to get off of him so he can run. He fails to make a break for it as Sirius continues to pester Kouki for attention, leading Maculata to grab him and thank Sirius with a bone-shaped gum treat. Kouki yells about being sold out like this, and Maculata scolds him for making everyone look for him. She also refuses to let him go and takes to task for trying to skiv out on his studies.

Kouki argues that since he's already employed, he doesn't need to bother learning about things unrelated to work. Also, Maculata isn't in the same agency he's in and he never asked for a busybody auntie like her to get up in his business. Maculata takes offense at being indirectly referred to as old and starts pulling him by the ear. Kouki protests against this treatment, but Maculata says he pushed her into this. She may have come to measure him for clothes, but she decides making him study while she watches him do it comes first. You either comment on how they're acting like a parent and child, say this is charming, or express pity. In A, Sui suggests you not say that to Kouki or Maculata because both would get mad at that. In B, Sui comments on how unfazed you are. In C, Sui asks who you mean by that.

In any case, the conversation is interrupted by a giant explosion happening outside the building. You and Maculata are surprised by this, and Kouki takes the opportunity to slip away and figures he may as well check out what's happening. Maculata tells him it's too dangerous to go alone and moans about him being a handful before chasing after him. The rest of the party runs up in the meantime, slightly alarmed. Hitomi asks if you and Sui are alright. Crowne also asks, then says something bad must be happening outside. Mokdai agrees since the explosion made the building shake, then suggests you guys should go outside too. Hitomi says she'll lead the way to the entrance, so you either ask for her to lead or tell everyone to come along. A gets an extra line where Hitomi says to be careful since she doesn't know what's up yet. Everyone then heads out, except for Sui who stops partway looking preoccupied. No one notices this happening.

Outside the agency, you immediately see Kaibutsu running around attacking people. Hitomi is horrified by this while Crowne comments on how conspicuous the attack is. Screams and explosions fill the air, and Maculata figures the Monsters must have caused the blast earlier somehow. Kouki says they have a lot of nerve to attack so close to a hero agency, then phones in to his manager to ask them to transform him and Hitomi. Hitomi still takes a moment to insist on being called Hito-chan before she asks her manager to activate the transformation too.

Light wraps up Kouki and Hitomi as they go through their magical girl Hero transformation sequences. When Kouki is ready, he says it's time to get those ratings up and Sirius barks. You express shock at them being heroes despite being underaged and/or at Sirius also tagging along for Kouki's transformation. Hitomi just announces her code name, does a quick check off on her setup before saying she's ready to go. Mokdai is amazed and considers getting their pictures later out loud, but Crowne tells him to focus and to give her his camera. He needs to get ready to fight anyways. Mokdai sullenly obeys, then focuses as he asks you to transform him. Maculata asks you to do hers as well, so you activate the transformations.

Maculata and Mokdai psyche themselves up to get ready to fight once they get suited up, and you can either encourage Mokdai, Maculata, or ask Crowne to handle the camera work. In A, Mokdai says he'll handle it and asks you to take command. In B, Maculata says she'll charm/show you her strength as a hero. In C, Crowne says she's got it covered and tells you to break a leg. Anyways, Kouki notes that you're an Operator, then puts his camera on standby since a group effort will bring in numbers. The episode battle then begins as Hitomi suggests working together and noting the Monsters are coming to attack. More happens afterwards.

After the battle, we tune in to Maculata sighing that it's over now. Kouki cheers and flips a victory sign over winning, and Hitomi says she worked hard too and thanks everyone for all they've done. Crowne puts the camera up once she's confirmed no enemies are left, declaring the live to be over and congratulating everyone on a job well done. Hitomi and Kouki's transformations quit out, and Kouki collapses to the ground as he asks if Crowne got a good shot. Mokdai is taken aback at how differently Kouki acts in front of a camera, and you either say he might not be that different, point out that he is an actor, or wish Akashi would be more like him that way. While everyone else is taking the time to relax now, Maculata senses a strange feeling of being watched. It's a natural part of being a hero, but she comments on it giving her a bad feeling.

When Maculata turns to look at where she's getting that sensation, she's so shocked she doubts what she saw, though she recognizes the figure she did see. She calls after the disappearing figure and runs over, paying no attention to her transformation cancelling out and shocking you with her actions. She calls after Shizuku, trying to ask why she's there as she heads into the alleyway. No one is in said alleyway when Maculata reaches the place, and she has nothing to say as a breeze blows by. You ask Maculata what caused her to suddenly run like that, but she insists she was sure someone was there.

Scene shifts over to Sui, where she's gone into Kouki's waiting room. In one hand is that flower bookmark she picked up earlier. In her other hand is the letter from her mother that was in Maculata's bag, and Sui says she is being called. Sui tries to make sense of things, but she says that there's not much room for interpretation for knowing where that flower came from and knowing said place is important to her. She decides she has to go check things out, and the episode ends with her folding the letter back up and putting it where it was.
