Ziz
comments on them suddenly having their hands full of confections, then
tells them to be careful not to choke while they walk and eat. She also
offers them tea, which they drink up right away.
Kenta
points out a bunch of Evils walking in a line, except for the yellow
one being unsteady on its feet. Shirou pities them but wonders if it’s a
good idea to put them back into the Necronomicon. Kengo thinks it’s
kinda weird how there’s so many people around yet much of them don’t
seem to be in line for the shops.
Shirou
says the Sweets Road is using the number ticket queuing system, so most
of the people eating go outside. Kengo says not having to be in a line
is nice, so Shirou suggests getting a ticket and checking the other
places out in the meantime. Ziz says she sees Ebisu-ya around the
corner.
Title card pops up, and this episode chapter is called O Dog! The Peony Blossoms in the Red Bean Paste!
Scene
then shifts to outside to where tea houses that look lifted out of old
Japanese period piece shows are. Ryouta is shocked to see them all, but
Kengo is more focused on the crowds outside. Ziz wonders if Shirou
misread the circumstances. Kengo calls Shirou too theoretical-minded and
asks what all this is about.
Shirou
doesn’t protest the suggestion that he misinterpreted things but he does
take issue with Kengo blaming him for them being unable to get in line
out here. You can then either try to cheer Shirou up, tell Kengo to quit
whining, or comment that Ziz is strict on people who are on the ball.
Going
with B, Kengo tries to excuse himself by saying he doesn’t mean it,
then asks if it’s impossible now to get in line even though you guys are
here to eat. He then talks about wanting to eat and how when he tastes
something he can’t think of anything else.
Ziz
says she’d like to find something with taste for Behemoth as much as
possible, and he starts sniffing. You suggest getting into line and
chatting to make it go quicker. Kenta pauses, then asks if he can go
somewhere else while you guys wait. Shirou asks if he’s going alone. He
thinks it’ll be fine if someone goes with him, then asks where he’s
going anyways.
Kenta doesn’t say anything,
so the Evil tries to give him a little shove. Kenta mumbles something,
so you ask if it’s a secret or ask who Shirou is talking to on the phone
all of a sudden.
After the call is done,
Shirou takes Kenta’s hand and says the two of them will be splitting off
for a bit. Kengo demands he at least spill where it is they’re going,
but Shirou declines because Kenta wants to keep it secret. Ziz tries to
smooth it over saying everyone has secrets.
You
can say Kengo doesn’t have any secrets, say you know Kengo’s secrets,
or ask if Ziz has secrets too. In B Kengo freaks out and wonders if you
know about one or two things that come to his mind. In C Ziz laughs and
avoids answering the question.
In any case
Ziz says it’s fine and tells the whole group that it’s okay if there’s
anywhere they want to go check out. Behemoth agrees, saying since this
is for his sake you guys don’t have to stick with him the entire time.
Ziz corrects him saying it should be “them” instead. He agrees, with
some confusion.
You ask if you can go with
Shirou and Kenta and ask if he’ll at least tell you where he’s going.
Kenta refuses, going as far as asking Inugami to cover his face. Ryouta
thinks it’s a weird pairing but suggests letting him be, so Kengo
sarcastically tells Shirou to stuff his face. Shirou tells Kengo to not
bother the rest of the party and Kenta waves you guys bye for now.
Ryouta
says Kengo is being childish for pouting and ignoring Kenta as they
left and making him depressed. Kengo stubbornly keeps at it, and Ziz
says you guys should line up.
Some time
later Suzuka and Tetsugyuu walk over, surprised by the crowds. You
notice them, and Suzuka comments on running into you again by saying you
have a stupid mug. Tetsugyuu is more excited at meeting you again
though. You can then talk to Suzuka saying she’s come too or greet
Tetsugyuu.
Going with A, Suzuka is amused
and says the same goes for you guys and says your luck sucks like
always. She says they only just got there and is already bored with the
crowds. Tetsugyuu offers to beat down the crowds, so Suzuka snaps at him
to keep his dumb thoughts down and threatens to ditch him if he causes a
scene with the locals.
Suzuka then says
that there hasn’t been any raids on Kabukicho lately, so they don’t need
as much power. Tetsugyuu turns to you and asks you to call him if you
ever find any huge battles happening around. He’ll flatten all your
enemies and make a show of dying.
You can
tell him to not die, be weirded out and say you’ll think about it, or
say you’ll be with him when he goes. Going with A Tetsugyuu is put down
by that and asks if you’re doubting his preparedness. He says he can’t
wait to greet the end of days together with you, imagining you all beat
up and complimenting him as he lays dying, then the two of you expiring
holding each other. Or at least you holding him.
Ziz
seems upset with Tetsugyuu for some reason, but before she really says
anything Ryouta leans over to ask if something’s wrong. She says things
are fine in surprise. Kengo asks if Suzuka and Tetsugyuu are here for
the manju and brings up the long lines.
Suzuka
says they aren’t here to shop, but are here for a store the Outlaws are
managing. That aside she still thinks its weird how there’s a line
since there is the ticket system. She asks Tetsugyuu what he sees given
that he’s tall. After taking a look, Tetsugyuu says everyone is there to
spectate actually and aren’t in line.
Suzuka
wonders what could be going on, though Tetsugyuu suggests moving along
and bringing you guys with them. She agrees and tells him to tell Ebisu
more customers are coming, so he runs off. Ryouta sees him go through a
back entrance and wonders in surprise if it’s okay for you guys to
follow in that way.
Ziz asks Suzuka that
same question, referring to her with a -chan suffix. This surprises her,
but she actually ends up liking it since everyone usually calls her
anego instead. She figures if you’re big you should act big. Ziz is put
off at being described as big but admits that it’s true.
Suzuka
tells you and Tetsugyuu to call her that sometimes. You can either say
you can’t, awkwardly say you’ll think about it, or take her up on it.
Going with C, she adds that you better not mock her with it, and that
you should use it with respect and familiarity.
Tetsugyuu
is back and ushers you guys in. From the outside the shop looks
appropriate to its time period, but Ryouta observes that the ground is
actually flooring that looks like dirt. Suzuka explains that for
sanitary reasons they can’t actually build anything with soil/mud/clay.
Ziz notes it’s raised a little so it will be easy to take down and
compares it to a stage floor.
Inside the
shop, Tetsuya comments on how boring and peaceful it is lately, playing
with a folding knife that hasn’t been used in a while. He also comments
that Kirito hasn’t been around to sell info lately and wonders if he’s
finally dropped dead somewhere.
Narration
says the knife is just some disposable, mass produced, ordinary object.
It’s nothing valuable in itself, but Tetsuya keeps it. Anything valuable
associated with it would have to be a memory in it, the memory of a boy
with back-combed/teased hair who also had the same thing. A disposable
boy like himself, perhaps already disposed of.
Tetsuya
seems sad for a second, then says Kirito might have thrown his away
already and might still be alive. He’s about to comment about his old
friends when he hears people coming through the back, then Tetsugyuu
barges in. He greets him before noticing everyone else and asking what’s
going on.
Suzuka explains that they found
you up front and figured they might as well bring you in. Tetsuya
doesn’t see it that way and asks why she thought that, and he especially
objects to Kengo coming here too. Kengo tells him to shove it and says
they can take it outside.
Tetsuya decides
not to take it that far and says he’ll take a break from fighting today,
which Kengo is surprised about. He says it’s nothing, and Suzuka says
they still owe you guys. Gyoubu laughs saying Suzuka hasn’t changed,
then welcomes you guys too.
You can greet
either Gyoubu or Tetsuya. Going with the former, he says it’s been a
while and comments how lively it is around you. Kengo thinks it’s weird
for all the Outlaws to be here and asks what’s going on at that shop.
Tetsuya calls him dumb for not knowing much about businesses.
Tetsuya
says when there’s festivities going on in Shinjuku they help out a lot
with others. You can say that it’s important or ask what he means. Going
with A, Gyoubu says some of the Outlaws run stalls, so they have some
connections. Suzuka says it’s like their own festival too, and since
there isn’t a mikoshi to carry around there’s less fights.
Tetsuya
also says they help out with regulating crime. You can comment that
Outlaws have it rough or ask if the police do so too. Going with B,
Gyoubu says they do with the Kabukicho folks dealing with the inside and
the police dealing with the parts further out. He also suggests that
you go take a look at their stuff later. Maybe you’ll see something
funny.
Behemoth sniffs a bit and says he
smells something good. Gyoubu says the next manju making show should be
starting soon and says three dogs you know will be over there. You
wonder if that’s what all the crowd is about, and Gyoubu suggests you
take a look.
Outside the shop someone
announces that Ebisu-ya’s confections are about ready. Shino then shows
himself and says they aren’t just going to just *hand out* the things
because that’d be dull, then shifts the focus to Moritaka. Moritaka
introduces himself, followed by Tadatomo, who seems a little embarrassed
to say he’s putting his heart into the stuff.
Ryouta
and Kengo are shocked to see this, as are you to see them and even
Shino in on this. Moritaka and Tadatomo are taken aback when they notice
you guys, but Shino tells them to keep their heads on and move on with
the show.
Shino pulls out several plates,
then signals to Moritaka as he flips up some steaming base manju into
the air. Moritaka takes out his sword and cuts some decorations into the
manju. Shino says it’s Tadatomo’s turn next to add soy sauce and sea
weed to the dango. Tadatomo throws out a bunch of needle type shuriken
and hits the dango, and Shino finishes by cutting the ends of the sea
weed, putting the dango on top of a hibachi, and arranging them.
The
crowd cheers as it’s done, and Shino starts putting on some tea. That’s
when people start noticing something different. That is, that Moritaka
and Shino have set a place for everyone else. Everyone is surprised
while Shino calmly sets out tea and still steaming confections on his
way to you.
Once that’s done, Shino tells
everyone to have a taste of things. When you talk to him he describes it
as shoddy, but he still asks you to try it. Ryouta says the sweet manju
and salty dango make an endless loop, and Ziz thinks it’s just great.
Suzuka says the simplicity of it makes it even better.
Moritaka
asks what you think, so you say it’s good and say he must have
practiced a lot. He shivers and says it was harrowing, and that just now
might as well have been child’s play. Still, he’s happy to hear you
enjoyed it. He also wishes he could give some to Shuuichi since he’s
been down lately, so he considers bringing some to him.
Tadatomo
is looking around for someone while holding onto two manju. You thank
him for his work and say it tasted good. He’s happy to hear it too, and
when you ask him about the ones he’s holding, he says one’s for you.
He’s reluctant to say who the other is for, so you can either guess it’s
for Marchosias or for Kotarou.
Going with
A, he tries to deny it at first. He slips and almost calls him father
before calling him by name, saying he thought about sharing some with
him, but he can’t find him. You then comment that he doesn’t seem to be
here, suggest you pat his head instead, or play with his fur.
Going
with C, he almost calls you father too before correcting to milord and
says he’s unworthy. Scene then shifts back inside the shop as Tetsugyuu
comments about getting why the things are selling. Ebisu walks in and
says he can’t make too many kinds or else they won’t sell, so he kept it
simple.
You either greet Ebisu or comment
on his business sense. Going A, he greets you back and asks for your
thoughts on the manju. Gyoubu says his skills are improving again and
that they could sell in the King’s store too.
Ebisu
thanks him but says his grandfather figure is still better than him, so
he’ll concentrate on it more. You either ask if they know each other or
just go ‘oh.’ Going with A, Ebisu says a bunch of stores in Kabukicho
sells his grandpa’s manju and that Gyoubu has always been a regular
customer of theirs.
Ebisu also says he’s a
little nervous about keeping his grandfather’s heartfelt techniques
going but hopes he can do it. Kengo asks about that since it’s not like
kicking or punching things and not about making things sweeter. He says
that he was told it was about someone else finding meaning in what he
makes and less about changing the quality.
Gyoubu
says it’s mostly the same as how your mind simplifies whatever meaning
your senses pick up from the world. But if it resonates with someone,
maybe the taste will change. Ziz goes quiet at that. Suzuka then asks if
Gyoubu is overeating, but he laughs it off saying it’s just that tasty.
Behemoth
has fattened up again and says he doesn’t taste anything. Everyone not
in the loop is surprised by this, going from suspicion to shock. Suzuka
doesn’t recognize Behemoth as he is now and asks where he went, though
Tetsugyuu seems to make the connection. Tetsuya is more astonished that
all the manju is gone.
You explain what’s
going on, and after all that Gyoubu says you’re involved with another
weirdo again. Moritaka says he hears something, but Kengo doesn’t.
Tadatomo recognizes it as the floor straining from weight limits.
Ebisu
is in disbelief since the building is made by oni and is brand new at
that. But nope Behemoth is close to breaking the floor, so Gyoubu says
to get him outside now or else the damage might hurt other customers.
Shino
tells Tadatomo and Moritaka to help him carry Behemoth out and says to
do it like he’s a portable mikoshi shrine. Tetsugyuu helps too, with him
in the back, Shino up front, and the others at the sides.
The
event battle theme starts blaring to Suzuka’s surprise, though she
still thinks it’s cool. Ryouta says it’s time to dance but figures
dancing inside would wreck the place, so Ebisu points the quickest way
out back. Everyone tries to move Behemoth out, but he gets stuck in the
doorway.
Since Gyoubu doesn’t see any other
way, he signals to Shino to help. Shino is excited at cutting loose and
calls tanuki cowardly and cautious. Then he tells the boys to keep
going while he steps away for a sec. Tetsugyuu protests that there isn’t
space and Tadatomo complains that Shino is pushy, but he and Moritaka
go along with it.
Tetsugyuu follows their
lead and gets ready. Shino and Gyoubu draw their swords, then run at the
doorway and slash at it to cut a way to the outside. Suzuka protests
that this is overkill, so Ryouta tries to keep it under control with his
CS. Only thing is, the App isn’t on so nothing happens.
Anyways
Behemoth is taken outside pretty much okay. He has some concern about
the guys who carried him though as they flop over one by one. The
commotion of course draws a lot of attention, and Suzuka snaps at this
turn of events before asking if people are okay. She also says she’ll
call up Takemaru later to come fix the shop.
But
back to more pressing matters Suzuka comments on the mess and hopes to
keep it from ruining other people’s day somehow. Gyoubu agrees, so you
suggest you guys start dancing to cover it up. Gyoubu laughs and says
you think like a tanuki, then prods Shino into dancing with you saying
he wouldn’t just leave you by yourself.
Moritaka
tries to protest that he sucks at dancing, especially with a song like
the event battle theme is. Tadatomo laughs at him, and if I’m
understanding this right...he says he’s picked up break dancing because
Kotarou duped him into it.
Tetsugyuu joins
in wholeheartedly and throws off most of his clothes, intending to show
off the dinner show entertainment he’s learned in his home world. Ryouta
prompts Ebisu, Suzuka, and Ziz to join in too. Ziz and Suzuka agree,
the latter because that’s just what high school girls do as she takes
her jacket off. Ebisu is surprised, but he agrees too and mentions
Benten often made him dance. Then Shino starts the episode battle.
